Welcome to denim wrapped nightmares tipsy exchange Podcast where we explore the supernatural series episode by episode.
over drinks, we'll discuss the lore of gore and what we adore about the Winchesters and their adventures.
I'm burly, and I'm a new fan of the series.
I'm LA, and I'm here along for the ride. Now let's get tipsy. Hello, la. Hey Burley.
On our last episode, Sam and Dean broke into bellows apartment to try and get the Colt back. But Bella had already left. And she tipped off the location of the Winchesters by contacting the FB i. So Adrienne Hendrickson showed up and took the Winchesters into custody, he kind of took over the local
small town Sheriff's Office. And while they were there, all of these demons decided they wanted to attack the sheriff's office and try to get the Winchesters for some reason they haven't been doing anything almost all season. But all of a sudden, the horde of demons that we saw escape the devil's gate way back in episode one decided this is our chance tonight. Yeah, well, Henrickson, Sam Dean, and the rest of the people in the station worked together and ended up exercising all the
demons. Ruby had come in and tried to offer a solution to their problem with some spell, but it was going to require them sacrificing one of the innocent people in the sheriff's station. So they were like, No, we don't like that. So where we left, but then at the end, Lilith showed up and killed. Everyone left in the police station, Sam and Dean had left so they're okay. But Ruby, of course, took her opportunity at the end to go in there and be like, I know more than you. You should have done
what I said. There would have been less people killed.
I mean, she's kind of right. Oh, no,
something Something doesn't add up. Something doesn't add up with Ruby. I can't. We know. We don't like well, it's not just that I don't like or just, there's something going on there. And we shall see. Anyway, that was our last episode just in the Hello.
Well, the episode for today is called Ghost phasers. This is probably one of my favorite episodes. I have to say. I really enjoyed it. Yeah. And we it brings back Edie and Harry from I forget which episode was first season like Hell House season one. Okay. Yeah. It starts out that the two of them are sitting in these arm chairs dressed in like tuxedos, all fancy. And they're basically introducing their show that they've been working on apparently, at the beginning of
this episode. It's like their little montage that they did. And they have these little briefcases that st ghost faces on them. And then they attempt to try to look like they're going in slow mo but they're just going slow. And the car drives real fast.
It's like I I didn't notice he was just pretending to go in slow mo at first I thought that maybe he actually wasn't slow mo but then that car drove behind and I just died laughing That was hilarious.
Now they're in Ed's family's garage. And it's like their headquarters. They've got all their gear around and it's like pictures post or like
they had like a whiteboard on the garage door. Some pictures up on that
all are like research. Yeah, exactly. Evidence. And it switches and it says phase one, the homework. And there are it's so it's more than just edit Harry. Now we've got Ed's adopted sister, which he very much pointed out that she has adopted. We've got spruce and Corbett Allen Corbett. So they're all in the garage, getting all their research together and they start talking about the Morton house and that every four years on this night, leap year, every leap year, yes. It becomes the most haunted
place in the United States. And we find out that sweet Corbett is crushing hard on Edie. Yes. I mean, it was so cute. Just like he was like he's just madly
this beard.
Did he say something about his chops? Yeah, I mean, just totally crushing on him. Then it switched to Harry in the car talking about Corbin and how he's a nice guy. But he You can tell he clearly he knows Corbett's got the crush. And a haircut. I don't think he likes it.
I didn't think he did either. I was like, I feel like he's kind of jealous. But I think it's also because Corbett he was just whenever it showed Corbett talking about and and how wonderful Ed was he was like an Harry. I mean, he's Okay, so I think maybe they just don't particularly like each other. Yeah.
So after that it's phase two. infiltration. Wait,
what? When the garage door opened and this dad and the car
all there, they've got all these papers like taped up on the garage, and it starts going up and it shows Ed's dad and he kind of was like, looks like oh, just like smile, smiling.
It was a sweet, older looking guy. He was he was on the screen for like two seconds. But he won my heart. Right. He made an impression. Yeah, I liked him. He was cute.
So now we're, they're infiltrating Morton house there. They've got there. They're out there. They're okay, it's nighttime, of course. They've got their flashlights and they come up on a gate, a wire. Fence. Yeah, that's what it is. And then all of a sudden they start hearing music. I forget. I'm American man. Playing and we see baby roll up. And Sam's got his flashlight looking like at the house trying to see what's
going on. They don't see the guys like, or the group because they like huddled down they they hit the deck. Yeah. So they drive off. And the kids break in to the house.
Well, let's be clear. They aren't kids. They're adults. But yeah, before we move on, though, I cannot remember which episode it was. But there was an episode A while back where they had a spotlight next to the rear view sideview mirror on the Impala there was like this big spotlight. And I thought that's what it was at first on the Impala. But it was just Sam's big ol arm with a flashlight. What happened to that spotlight?
I don't know. It's been it's been on the car and other episodes. So I don't know why it wasn't on there.
No, I only remember I only remember it being used once. Yeah, was it back in season one? I have no idea because the Impala got Fox at the end of season one remember? So maybe. Maybe it got taken off after that. When they we don't I was just wondering, where did the spotlight go? It was in my note. We're really worried about that. Well, I thought it was cool. Yeah, it is. And it's gone. Yeah.
Rest in peace light.
It's like one of the only notes I wrote down on this episode. Where's where's the spotlight? Okay,
we don't know. Who knows. Well, there they have broken into the house.
Phase two infiltration. Did you say that already? Okay.
They have the adults group of people have broken into the house. And the first floor, they they're like, let's set up our command center right here. We're going to call it Eagle's Nest, the Eagle's Nest they're pulling out computers, cameras, flashlights, I mean, they've pretty impressive everything they had that they and I'm like where were they carrying all that? They didn't really see any big bags or backpacks, but that's neither here nor there.
They in their little briefcases.
They get together they get in a little huddle and they're there. They're ready to go. They everybody puts their hands in and Edie says spin the tires light the fires. Yeah. And you thought that was from Top Top Gun.
I did think it was from Top Gun and then I Googled it. And what I found was kick the fires like the would kick the tires, like the fires are that that's like a military thing with planes. I did not find that it was in Top Gun, but because it's a military thing with planes that makes me think maybe I'm right. Yeah, I can see it. I didn't confirm that though. So I don't know. But yeah, it was kick the tires, not spin the
tire. Yes. So either Ed changed it up, or they're quoting something completely different. And we're way off.
Right? And then they do the whole go spacers and then you liked the hand that that's what it was? Yeah. Then they all they do the good spacers and then everybody's hand just go slowly in front of their face going down, but it was like what is that? Dramatic. Now we're in phase three. FaceTime, they have broken up into groups. That's the first team is Edie and Corbett. Of course, they're I think they're on the first floor
still. And they're, you know, wandering around talking trying to get the ghosts to come out. And Corbett is losing it. He's like in panic mode scared. He is so scared. Bless his heart. Yeah. And then Harry spruce and Maggie are up on the second floor. And they've got the EMF, the EVP the temp flux, and everybody's electronics at certain points are like kind of going, going in and out. Yeah, Harry is putting his foot on
this door. Like, I didn't realize he was trying to, like, kick the door in like he was just trying to tap it open. Versus like, turn the knob Harry flips his shit and goes running down this hallway and I was like, what just happened? And then it like, pans back and there's this tiny rat. Yeah, right there when he opened the door and then and he's like confessional he's like, I don't like rats. Yeah. I don't like him and and then spruce once well Tara comes back spruce kicks it out. Yeah.
It was. Yeah, he did not like it.
This episode was I was funny. It's so cute. I kind of hope these guys come back at some point again. Yeah, they're good time. Without without meaning. Back we're back with
Edie. And Corbett. Yeah.
And they they there's a flashlight flown in there. That's flowing fluid in their face. And they hear phrase police and we know that voice Hmm. Their beautiful faces come up on the screen and you were just taken away. Back. I
love the lighting in this episode. was doing Jensen Ackles real
good. Yeah, like his eyes were sparkling. Yeah,
his cheekbones. This this reality TV lighting that they were doing. We got a lot of shots of him looking directly into the camera, which we don't normally get
an eye contact. Yeah. Yeah, that's good. It was real good.
He looked he looked. I was almost regretting that I broke up with Sam and I went to he looked real good in this episode. Like damn.
Another reason. It's one of my favorite the guys are trying to tell them like act like their police tell him the guys do you need to get the hell out of here or whatever. Oh, and that's another reason why I like this one because they cuss in it. Yeah, now it's bleeped out. But I still like it.
There was plenty of casting and the way they were talking in the episode even with it being bleeped out. It just felt natural.
If Yeah, I liked it. Yes, yes, I agree. Okay,
it just yeah, it just it flowed. It just made sense with Sam and Dean and their characters that they would actually talk like they do in this episode. Exactly. Yeah. Was the most Sam and Dean we've seen Sam and Dean get to be great. The way they talked the way they took charge. Sassy. Sam was back.
And as they're talking, Dean says, or I think it was Ed first. He's like, Wait a minute. Like I know you guys. And the Our boys are black. I don't know why I always call them our boys is your boys. That's right, my boys. They don't recognize them at first, but then Dean's like, holy shit. And he's like, Oh, yeah. And they remember that. They were they met in Texas. I forgot what was what episode Hell House House. Yeah. Dean looks over at Corbin. He's like you do you want to explain your
weirdo outfit? Because he's like in some sort of like I think he's like in camo like almost like he looked like he's in the army or something.
He had his big headlamp on and all that stuff.
And then Dean's like, Alright guys, do you like to add you in Rambo? You need to get your girlfriend's get out of here. And Edie is like listen chisel chest, which I thought was really funny. Because it's like, he's saying it like He's insulting him. But it's like, actually my boys want them to leave and like we're not leaving. We're here. We've got work to do. They were
like we got here first. And Sam was like, Oh, gotcha. And they got here first, like, totally being a smartass. I was just like, yes, their season one smart ass Sammy. Yeah.
I think that's another reason I call them kids because like Sam and Dean are treating them like their kids like yeah, you know, like bossing them around, hoping to get out of there and everything. Then we see we're back to seem to and we see this their fancy dress guy looks like maybe from the 50s It's a ghost because he kind of flickers and he's talking to somebody that's not there, saying, hey, look, guy. I mean, that's all the money I've got.
And then out of nowhere, he gets shot like three times and disappears, like mobster is what it seemed like the outfit and the gun down like it had mobster feel to it. Yeah. And then it goes back to Dean Chuck chastising ed for being there. And they're talking about him being there on Leap Year. And I think Sam tells him Don't you know, like, somebody dies every
year at midnight in here. Team Two comes running down the stairs, like screaming, yelling, telling or telling ed that they got this they got photos or whatever. We got a full apparition. Yes. And Harry stops when he sees the guys. And he's like, Hey, Aren't those the assholes from Texas? That's when Dean once again starts trying to hustle them out of the house. He's like, Alright, come on, guys. You know, we'll get you ice cream. It's it'll be our
tree. Let's go. Do you He just totally kept treating them like they were like some stupid teenagers or something. So I think that's, that's just why I was like the kids, but they were all drinking beer at the end. So yeah, they're adults.
Well, I mean, they're also acting like children, right? Like true. They're going to this haunted house. They don't have any idea the kind of danger they're involved. Whenever you were saying that Sam was explaining to them that somebody's gone missing. They kind of argue with him being like, no, no one's ever stayed the night here. And Sam and Dean said, No one's ever stayed the night here and lived. Look at all these people who have gone missing on leap on Leap Year
Day. What's the Leap Day called? Is it Leap Day? February 29, when that happens is called believe it. It's called Leap Day. It doesn't have a name, I don't think so. It should have a name. Leap Day, we'll just name it Leap Day. So on Leap Day, all these people who've gone missing, and through their research and everything, Sam and Dean have found out that they've said they were gonna go stay in the Morton house, and then we're never seen again, but and their bodies weren't found or anything
like that. So nobody ever put two and two together, I guess. Right? I'm defending your man, that they deserve to be treated like children's play. And who doesn't love ice cream? Right, I
believe. Especially if I'm going with you. The the kids know that the ghost phasers, show everybody the footage of what they found on the second floor with Team Two. And Sam said, I think Sam or Dean, whichever they say that it's a death echo. And it's when a person's trapped in a loop of where and how they died. They're just reliving it over and over again. But they're confused as to like, nobody's ever been shot at this house. So they're like,
what, why is this guy here? And everybody, it just starts to be a mess. The boys once again are trying to scoot them out of the house. And as they're doing that, I think it's Harry turns around. He's like, wait, wait, wait. He's like, we'll make you reoccurring guest on the show. Like that's kind of really impressed them. And Dean's like
pushing them out the door. But then we see Corbett and he is all alone upstairs trying to get a ghost come out, which I thought was weird since he was so panicky earlier when Ed was there with him. And now he's alone. He's just like, hello,
was trying to impress Edie, I think probably you know, because they figured out he had wandered off. So after team two came down there bragging about what they caught. That's just what I assumed is that he went upstairs because he wanted to catch something too, because he wants to impress Edie.
Well, poor sweet Corbett is walking around, he switches to night vision. And as he does, he's switching the camera to night vision. So he's got it kind of pointed at himself. In the shot. There's this huge guy standing behind him. And when he sees me, he freaks out screams and then we see him. He's just being dragged off somewhere. It was scary. Yeah. And everybody downstairs heard it. And it actually posts or it actually set on the screen that it was 1159. And I think Sam mentioned
like, it's midnight. And Corbett's not here.
It like showed it go from 1159 It showed it change to 12am when Corbett stopped screaming that was a nice touch. I thought,
yeah, they're trying to find they try to open the front door. They're like looking around trying to get away to get out of there and get these ghosts phasers out of here. Dean's like, look, it's a supernatural lockdown. We're in here for the night. They've trapped us. And then all the cameras and equipment start fritzing out again. And we see another echo sky who's wandering or he's like in a trench coat wandering around and he looks like confused or drunk or something.
We hear this loud train and then there's this huge flash of light that comes up on him and then he he's like no covers his face and get blown away and disappears. It was really cool. Yeah,
I liked that a lot.
He's blown away. And like as he's like getting smaller and smaller and smaller until he disappears.
And you see the injuries pop up on his face and his body as he's getting pushed away to so you couldn't see the train. We could hear the train but we never saw the train. Yeah, so you just saw the ghost and it was I thought that was really cool. Yeah, I agree before something that ends up being important later though, before the train hits him. Dean is running around because Joe's like yelling at them trying to get them to pay attention. And Ed asks Sam, what's he doing?
And Sam are at I think it was Harry actually asked Sam, what's he doing? And Sam explains that sometimes you can knock a ghost echo out of its loop. Usually it has to be somebody with a personal connection to the ghost, but you know, it's worth trying to knock them out of the loop to get them to move on.
And again, they're confused saying that echoes don't live. None of these echoes have lived or died in this location so they start searching around the house. To find some information, and Sam finds this award that was given to somebody who named Freeman Dagat, who was the last owner of the house, it shows that he was a hospital janitor and died of a heart attack in the house. Edie is he's he's jiggity. He's not happy that they're spending all this time like searching for information.
He's worried about little Corbett, and he wants to go and find Corbin. But everybody's like, No, we need to, well, not everybody. But the Winchesters are like, No, we need to investigate figure what the hell's going on here.
And since they seem to know what the fuck they're doing, the other ghost phasers are kind of like spruce with the camera. He's tends to be taping Dean and Sam more than anybody else now. And Maggie is obviously kind of taking lead from them as well.
But yeah, one of the guys, one of the Winchesters finds this box. I think it's Dean. He's going through it. And he's like, nothing. This is an apartment and important. Nothing, nothing, nothing. And then they find three tau tags in there. And it shows how they died. One was shot, one was in a train accident, and one was a suicide. So they realized that these bodies are somewhere in the house, that this Daggett guy took these bodies and brought them home and I think he says to
play with. Yeah, and everybody's like, Oh, God.
Oh, the other thing that was in that room was all the army rationed food and stuff about how to survive a nuclear bomb and all these other little things that end up being important later.
Yeah. And now we have Maggie who has wandered off to go find Corbett. So she's off on her own. And the EMF thing starts going crazy. And I think it's hairy. He's like, we're at an 8.6 and climbing fast something big is coming. The camera like flashes a couple times. And it's showing Sam and app after the last little flash Sam's gone. He's disappeared. So now everybody's looking for Corbett
and Sam. In one room. Maggie is talking to Harry about how she's so scared and just kind of panicky again, like Corbett and here's like, it's gonna be okay. It's gonna be okay. Just lays one honor and kisses there.
The vast majority of the episode is supposedly spruce. Yeah, recording everything. So spruce is just being a creeper videotaping them through a hole in a wall. And he's like, Yeah, or something like that.
As he's doing that, and dad walks in, and it's like, my best friend and my best sister, which I thought was funny, because clearly he only has one sister. Yeah. You laughed out loud at that. And he made it a point to be that she's adopted adopted sister. He takes off his glasses and hands him disperse and hold my glasses and proceeds to attack sweet Harry. And it's the lamest fight ever. They I think Dean or somebody separates them.
It was Dania, and he goes back over to spiritually give me my class.
He was like the one that right?
Okay. Well, after this we we see Corbett, he's like laying on this table and he's passed out. And he's coming to NEC Sam and Sam is at the other end of the table tied up again. Sam is just always tied up. Sam is trying to like calm Corbett down like get him to help him walk. Walk them through this, like help them survive. And Daggett the ghost of Dagat comes in and takes this big knife off the table. It didn't look like a knife.
It looked more like a giant nail. Yeah, it was like a spike of some sort. It was a giant. I don't know. Yeah. I don't know enough words. I don't know what it was. But that's what it looked like was a giant fucking nail. Yeah.
And we see that. It's clearly there was a party at the table. There's a cake. The three dead bodies. Are there days. Yeah. And they've got party hazzan. And they're just,
here's my question. Where were all the people that went missing? Why weren't they at the party anymore? What people? Sam at the beginning was saying all these people tried to stay the night here but they went missing. Yeah, I don't know. So I assume they got kidnapped by Dagat and killed by Dagat and invited to stay at daggits party. Where were their bodies? Yeah, good point. Why did Daggett decided they weren't good enough to stay at his party anymore and
just wanted his original three brood. Corbett goes and stands behind he little nope, not Corbett. Daggett goes and stands behind sweet little Corbett and pushes this nail whatever it is big old huge spike from the back of Corbett's neck through the front of his neck killing him and it was so awful. It was then we have we're back to the others.
Then he put a party hat on sale. That's
right. Yeah, he like walks over Sam is like, it's gonna be okay. And puts a party on him. It
was like a party hat from the Hills Have Eyes it looked like it was made out of flesh or something. I was like, What the fuck did he just put on Sam and La had to tell me it was a party hat because I was confused. Yeah.
Back to the other group. Dean is looking at more stuff and find and sees that Dagat was in the war. He's like, Oh, he says he was living in like a Cold War type of life and realizes that Daggett was scared which I don't really how does that play into it? The
Dagger was scared he was scared a nuclear bomb was gonna go off yeah, so
And Dean explained that guys like that. Usually built like bomb shelters in their house. So he's thinking there's some bomb shelter down below and that's probably where Corbett and Samar well, he gets locked in a room and he's like, Oh, they're trying to separate us.
It was the basement.
Was it the basement? Oh, Dean through the door yells just say I'm an ed that he's got salt in his duffel. And to put a circle around them and and stay inside of it. Right?
He said it was Edie Harry and Maggie who were on the other side of the basement door. Dean and spruce are on the stairs to the basement. And he said, Go to my duffel. There's salt in there, take it out and get inside it. And Ed and Harry were like, What the fuck that stupid and Harry goes in the back. Kid in your duffel? Or I think it was Ed actually who said get in the duffel bag. Yeah, mix it up. My name's here. There's too many stains like no Damascus in the salt. And then edit Harry
like Oh, okay. Okay. Okay. Yeah, so they do they go and draw like this big circle and all three of them are in it. And they're all very scared at this point in Dells area that he can bang his sister. If it survived or whatever. Maggie's
just like what the ball right?
And sweet. I kept calling him sweet Corbett, I don't know why he was just always a little sweetheart. And his death echo shows up in front of like, right next to their little circle. And it's awful. He's standing there like shaking and terrified. He looks so scary. Yeah, they're freaking out about it. But it switches from that scene to spruce and spruce. Is videoing Dean once again. And Dean, what does he pushed out of the way
was a giant cabinet like one of those old metal giant cabinets that are normally in like a classroom for storage. I mean, he slides one of those out of the way and spruce goes while you're strong. And Dean flips him off.
Just the wood spear set of those like, wow, you're strong.
Yeah, he liked it. But again, the reaction that we got to see it was just like, that's more Dean be Dean in this episode than we get to see in other episodes. Right? Oh, I hope they do a reboot on HBO.
I'd have to. We see Sam back at the table with Dagat. And he's telling daggits Telling Sam, you'll stay a good long time. And Dean.
See again, where are all the other bodies then?
I know. I know. I don't know. Now you say that. Good point. Dean shoots through the door. He sees Dagat and he's kind of coming out. Um, he shoots Dagat runs over to his bro to lantai him D telling him about how the Dagat was in the Cold War. And somehow Sam realizes that Dagat took these bodies to the house or whatever, and then went downstairs and Odede on horse tranquilizers. So he's the suicide.
He said Daggett told him about it. Oh, is
that what it was? Yeah. Okay. In the salt, salt circle. Ed wants to pull Corbett out of his loop. He's very worried about his, his boy Corbett and Harry
reminded him what they learned from Sam earlier about that death echo. Yes. And he told them Corbett wanted you man. Yeah.
And clearly did not realize this. Yeah. Like, you gotta go save that poor guy in turn. So Are ya Ed steps out of the assault assault. Assault circle. And he's talking to Corbett. He's like, Hey, man. Hey, man. You really you meant a lot to the team? You meant a lot to me. And then he told me Look, I gotta
tell you, man. Out of all the episodes that I would have expected to potentially cry in like, Dream a Little Dream of Me. We start out with Bobby in a hospital like I knew I knew I'm probably going to cry in this episode. I did not expect to cry in this episode. Go spacers get you but damn it. Ed's performance. He took off those glasses. That actor is an excellent crier. And he was so fucking sincere in his little
speech to Corbett. I just it totally surprised me whatever I was all of a sudden like, like crying over on the couch. I did not expect to cry in this episode it
was it was very sad. Sadly sweet we Yeah.
And the way Corbett whenever he came to and saw Ed and they made eye contact. Oh my heart. I wanted them to kiss so badly. Yeah.
Well after Corbett snaps out of it and he's he recognizes Ed and Ed is telling him you know, you've got to help us basically asking them or Corbett to help them get rid of Dagat
and Dagat is still fight and Sam Dean and spruce down in the basement right
easily. He like throw his throwing them around. He was a big dude. Yeah, but we see Corbett shows up down in the basement with them. And he attacks Dagat. And it's this like, flash of white. It's just the circle. It's like the two of them. Two ghosts fighting each other. Yeah, I don't know what happened. Yeah, but it disappears. And then all of a sudden, it's the next morning. The supernatural. Lockdown is over. Yeah, they're all coming
out of the house. Harry and Maggie are hugging Sam hands a piece of paper, which I assume is their number over to Ed. And I thought this was going to be the the end of the episode. But then it switches back to Harry and Edie from the beginning and their fancy suits, in sitting in the chairs. And they're talking about their experience of what happened and hair you're not. Yeah, no. Head is like war changes man. In areas like in woman, one woman so that he's like, war changes man and one
woman. Then they start paying tribute to Corbett and they are telling him, Ed's telling him that he's he's no longer an intern. He's a full Ghostface status. Or I think Harry said that. And then Edie says that love can pierce through death. And I get to somebody or something. I can't remember the whole thing. But he's like, uh, we thought we were teaching you but you were teaching us in the end. And then it puts up on the screen. You know, Alan Corbett
has birthdate death date. And then it says king of the impossible. And it was really cute. But then it shows that they're all sitting around watching this episode. And that Harry asks what the guys think and Dean, he's like, I think it's half awesome. And they get really giddy about that. But then Sam's like, Yeah, I mean, it's bizarre how you are able to honor Corbett's memory but while also exploiting the manner of his death. I was like, wow.
Sanic sassy pants in the house.
Yeah. And they're like, and then Edie and Harry start with like, Don't be jealous that we've got the footage of the century. And you notice like while they were sitting there, Dean put something in a bag.
Well, that pan down and show it so it was obviously something we were wanting to see. I just couldn't figure out what was happening there. I thought he was planting something in the bag. I didn't realize it was their bag. But we find that out later.
Yeah, I missed it. I was busy writing notes. So Dean's like Well, you got us there, you know, with the footage of the century or whatever. Dean is like, you know what, what's happened to us in the past? Or what? What always ends up happening when you tell the truth is, you know, you end up in a straitjacket nobody's gonna believe you or they're just gonna think you're fucking crazy. It turns out Dean had left some big ol electromagnetic
thing. And it fucks all their footage up, and they lose it and you can hear them kind of screaming and panicking about it. And then it goes back to the guys and, and baby. And it was like the world just isn't ready for Ghostface deeds like yeah, it's a shame. I actually kind of liked the show. Yeah. And then that was that.
It was really cute. The other thing we noticed was at the very end, once it switched to them watching the show, the credits that we would normally have seen running at the beginning of the episode started running. Yeah. And I was really confused at first, but then la pointed out, it's because until this point, we haven't been watching an episode of Supernatural. We've been watching the ghost phasers, pilot, right. So I thought that was a really clever tie. It was yeah, I didn't put two and two
together myself. But once you pointed out to me what was going on there? I was like, That's fucking clever. And I liked that. Yeah, this episode was written by Ben Edlund and directed by Phil so Grecia. This pair also worked together for season two's episode 12 Night shifter. Our good old boy, Ronald. Oh, yeah. Rip Ronald, and episode 18 Hollywood Babylon. The glorious thing to happen in this episode was Corbett stuff. Yeah. It wasn't just the gore with that. It was so uncomfortable.
It was slow. Yeah, I was gonna say it was like slow and just watching that thing come out of his neck. And pour
Sammy just trying to be like, just focus on me just stay with me trying so hard. It was it was sad. Yeah, the death of Corbett was really sad.
Oh, and at the effort at the very end. They're showing footage of Corbett from like them getting ready for the night packing the truck or the van up. And Bruce has asked him what he thought was going to happen to Night. And Corbett's Like honestly, I think all of our dreams are gonna come true tonight. Oh, so I was like, oh, that's why I called him sweet Corbin. Bill, sweetie. No,
it was very sad. Yeah. Well, I feel like we both just overall adored this episode. Yeah, but oh well does anything in particular come to mind for your adore? I really liked Corbett and his little crush on it. I thought that was so cute. Yeah. And that just that moment at the end, and that that tugged at my heartstrings. I cried. Yeah, I definitely cried. I loved the lighting on Jensen. Ackles fail. Yes. Throughout the entire episode. That lighting did him very well. He looked so
hot in this episode he did. And again, I liked that. Sam and Dean got to be more Sam and Dean in this episode I think we've seen so far in the series because they were able to cuss they were able to flip each other off. They were able to do all these things that would be natural to Sam and Dean. And we got that. Yeah, even if it was bleeped out, it didn't matter. It just it just felt so natural. So I loved those things. I agree
off the episode. So for lore, when they described a ghost Echo was the death of a death echo. That's what it was. Okay, death echo. I knew because I used to be like really into the ghost hunters. I knew what they were talking about is a residual haunting. So that's what I went with for the lore. And I just so happened to find this article on dummies.com. It's called Signs of residual hauntings. It's from the book ghost hunting for dummies. And it was written by Zach Baggins from Ghost
Adventures. Okay, Zach Baggins is a ghost hunter and not a hobbit from the Shire. Oh, yeah. Okay, I figured just so you know. Thank
you. Thank you for clarifying.
Hey, I hear Baggins. I think the Shire, please. Okay, true. Isn't that how you say his name Baggins did see it? Wow. The residual haunting is likely the most common type of haunting. Such hauntings are more prevalent than most realize, and a large percentage of paranormal activity falls into this category. When investigating haunted places. Be careful not to confuse this type of activity. With an intelligent
haunting. It is possible that residual hauntings have little to do with what we think of as ghosts. The following signs indicate a residual haunting one apparitions reported will be like moving pictures and typically will be seen in the same spots walking down the same hallway appearing in the same window doing the same motion over and over, they will be unaware of the living people around them. Such cases do not have any interaction between the
ghost and the witnesses. So an example like that they used about this on Ghost Hunters all the time was you know, when you hear stories about somebody saying a person they saw ghosts walk through a wall. That wall probably didn't used to be there. But to the ghost, it doesn't matter because they walked that way back then so they're just gonna keep walking. It's not like the ghost is purposely going through a wall.
Okay, number two strange sounds such as footsteps, voices, knocking and wrappings are common. So if you wake up in the middle of night and you're like, go do you go. It's a residual haunting. Number three, there may be high levels of humidity at the location as this seems to be a possible sign that hate humidity. This seems to be a possible sign that a reduced residual haunting is taking
place. It's been suggested that water embedded in the location may hold a sort of recording of the haunting that is taking place. Now remember, residual hauntings will not involve missing or vanished items, as there is no consciousness present. While windows or doors may be opened and closed. It is because of energy expending itself, not because it is physically being manipulated by spirits. So important. The simplest way to explain this type of activity is to compare it to an old film loop or a
recording. It can be a scene or image that plays over and over through the years. Many of the locations where these hauntings take place experience an event or a series of events that imprints itself on the atmosphere of the place. This event can suddenly discharge and play itself at various times, just as a recording would. The events are not always visual either. They are often repeat Laid as smells, sounds and noises that have no apparent
explanation. The famed phantom footsteps that are reported at many haunted locations are a perfect example of this. Often mysterious sounds or images that are recorded relate to traumatic events that have often taken place and that have caused some sort of disturbance or impression to occur there. This is the reason why so many battlefields crime seeds, and areas related to violence have become famous for their
hauntings. A residual haunting may not be caused by trauma or violence, though sometimes the image or sound might be created by an event that has been repeated over and over again, these frequent and repetitive releases of energy also seem to be capable of leaving a lasting impression. A good example of this can be realized from the large number of haunted staircases that have been
reported over the years. It's possible that because of the number of times that people go up and down the stairs, the energy expended leaves a mark on the site. These locations act like giant storage batteries, saving up impressions of sights and sounds from the past. Then, as the years go by, these impressions appear, again, as if a film projector has started to run. No one seems to know how this might work. But there are
many theories. They talk a lot about atmospheric conditions a lot about water, they go on and on and on and on about water about a bunch of experiments that have proven that water can have memory, which was kind of interesting. So you know, check our Tumblr if you guys want to read more about this. But yeah, they talk a lot about water, holding memory, and how so many things have at least a certain percentage of water within its
molecular makeup. And so that's why water water water is really important for these residual haunting things. But I'm not going to go into all of that. It wraps up with the question remains though, when we have ghostly figures, strange sounds and smells. How can we tell the difference between a traditional and a residual haunting. In some cases, the two very different types of activity can manifest in similar ways. However, the most important signs will be
different. It boils down to the interaction between the haunting and the winter witnesses. apparitions that are seen during a residual haunting, which are mirror images will not interact with the witnesses at the location. So just like Dean whenever he was trying to get the guy with the train to pay attention to him, it was like Dean wasn't even there at all. The apparition will be little more than a moving picture, or it may appear to be completely solid, but will vanish when
approached or confronted. It is possible that the images and activity may be atmospheric in nature, the haunting may be influenced by storms, temperature, artificial energy sources, or even the proximity of living persons. These factors may determine when activity occurs, and it is important that a log of activity is kept. In this way, a pattern can be developed as to when activity occurs, and the researcher has a much better chance of experiencing it. That's all I got. Nice.
Okay. Well, to wrap this one up. We have a quote from Daggett the ghost in he's this was when they were down in the basement and he's talking to Dean and he says stay home.
He was like whispering the sound wasn't a What did I say Dean? Yeah. Oh, God. You always got Dean on the brain. I can't he looked real good. This episode. I don't blame you.
Yeah, so no, it's he's got Sam tied up down there. And he's talking to him. And he tells him I don't know how to. Oh, hang
on. We have some effects that we're going to try today, folks. Hang on. Here we go.
I've been waiting for some new friends. I get cheers. Cheers.
