Berly

Welcome to denim wrapped nightmares tipsy exchange Podcast where we explore the supernatural series episode by episode.

LA

over drinks, we'll discuss the lore of gore and what we adore about the Winchesters and their adventures.

Berly

I'm burly, and I'm a new fan of the series.

LA

I'm LA, and I'm here along for the ride. Now, let's get tipsy. Hello, la. Hello Burley.

Berly

We're doing our first cast member spotlight today. I feel betrayed by our listeners.

LA

I know you do. I did. I know.

Berly

You don't at all. You You got exactly the results you were expecting. I did not. So because of that. LA is kicking it off. With Jensen with Jensen. Oh, that I guess I should say who won the poll. Jensen Ackles. No, Mr. Ackles. Big,

LA

shocking. Big shocking. big shocker.

Berly

In hindsight, I should have seen it coming. But I just didn't. You were hopeful for another. Yes, I was. One day. Yeah, maybe we just won't get your fucking pole next time.

LA

Yeah. I mean, there's only so many to choose from, you know,

Berly

today is Jensen and we're kicking it off with a bio Correct? Yes, yes. All right. Take it away. And they

LA

all right. Well, I'll just try to skim through all this. Just so we, you know, know who he is. In case you didn't know already. His name is Jensen Ross. Ackles. Didn't know about the middle name.

Berly

I already learned something new. Yeah, same.

LA

Born in Dallas, Texas on March 1 1978. And he is a Pisces, like you. Mm, six one green eyes. He started out as a model when he was like two. I guess his parents put them into modeling.

Berly

Oh, I didn't know they Billy. I knew I saw on a panel. somewhat recently, that they added a catwalk to the stage. Oh, and so him Jared and Rob. Were all taking their turns walking the catwalk. Oh, I

LA

gotta see that.

Berly

I'll show you because I think Rob won. He switched his horse you. You too. I will show you the video and I have a feeling you're going to agree with. Okay. For real, though. Jensen did it how a professional would do it? Don't get me wrong, but Rob did like a little hip swish.

LA

Okay, no, please tell me there were no Zuly interfaces. I did not see a single Zealander. Thank god. I'm so sick of seeing them in the bloopers.

Berly

But Jensen was talking about like, the smile and point and how he used to do catalog modeling. So I actually didn't know that.

LA

Okay, the smize they didn't talk about smizing. Okay. That's that's a Tyra thing. Anyway. Yeah. Anyway,

Berly

calling me out on my

LA

golly, I was just like, Oh, yeah. Okay. Now I believe you will watch. I'll let you know. I'll show you. I'll show you. Okay. Well, he originally planned on studying Sports Medicine at Texas Tech University to become a physiotherapist, which I love. But obviously, that didn't work. And while he was in school, a friend suggested to him to take part in this acting seminar with

him. And so after that, I guess he kind of got the bug, got an agent and moved to Los Angeles and started doing auditions and he got the role of Eric Brady in 1997 have on NBC these days of our lives, which was my jam back in the day. Oh my god, I loved that show. It was so ridiculous.

Berly

Oh, there was some soap opera that I would watch you know over summer mommies Yeah. I want to say is was General Hospital A soap I want to say it was that I could not tell you a single character, a single plot point. Nothing. But I know there was a soap opera that was almost like always on the TV over summer break.

LA

Well, I think what was it general?

Unknown

I said General Hospital but I don't even know that that was it. That one and there's one other one that I think have been the longest running ones think Days of Our Lives and General Hospital maybe. But I think General Hospital hospital is longer than daily.

LA

I can tell you that. I remember

Berly

certain things from 20. You remember?

LA

Well, it's funny because Marlena, who? He told that story? Or the the actress that plays Marlena is the one that told him like just show up. No your lines like do your shit. And he was like, and I did that every day. Yeah. She was one of the main characters and I just remember her getting possessed. Oh, she's died at quite a few times. So it

Berly

was like supernatural forces. You

LA

got it. You got it really early.

Berly

Whenever we got to district boundaries, like I know these storylines I know I know what's coming. I got it.

LA

But man, I tell you what, there's some real good looking guys on those soap hours. Yeah, I don't like I stopped watching them but my mom still watches days over lives. And when I go over there sometimes I'm like,

Berly

God. Well, I think and I don't know that if this is correct so you guys let me know if I get it wrong, but I think that an agent actually saw Jensen in a play and told him he should go to Hollywood that he would make it. Well, that's probably the witch. I'm just like, Cougar acting seminario just imagine it's an older woman like with a secret like, you'd make it darling. That face this. Face. Those cheekbones, those eyes. Hollywood's gonna love you. She's like coughing and stuff.

LA

I bet it was a man.

Berly

I wish I could play her in a movie. I feel like

LA

oh, it'd be good. You could do it. Well, in 1998 He won the Soap Opera Digest Award for Best Male Newcomer Oh, almost sounded like I said Comber.

Berly

I thought you were gonna say nude the way you were starting that word. No, no newcomer.

LA

And he got nominated three times in 1998 1999 and 2000. For a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Series. That's kind of insulting. Is Is there an award for

Berly

older what sector was the age cut off?

LA

Yeah.

Berly

Is it based off of your age? Is it based off of how long you've been acting

LA

like that? Anyway, then in 2001. He was in the many series blonde, which was about Marilyn Monroe's life which I've never heard of me neither. But I'm curious. Now I want to find it and look at it. Just look at it. Now watch it. Okay. That same year, he played the role of young or he he tried out for the role of you on Clark Kent for Smallville. But of course that went to Tom Welling. And then he participated in the series Dark Angel in 2001 has been slash x five dash 493 A psycho serial

killer. Oh, again, I gotta check this out. Right. But that character died in one episode, but he got to come back to the series on the second season as a clone of Ben. Ben this time Ben coma Alec slash x five dash 494.

Berly

Speaking of clones, I read an article recently talking about how every person like scientists believe that every person has six doppelgangers out there. So you know I'm looking I'm looking waiting. Yeah, I got my eyes out. Where are they? I feel

LA

like I've people when I was like waiting tables and bartending and all that they're like, he looks so familiar look just like this person. And then the lady that I go to do my hair now one of the first times I went to her, her and this like whole group were there and that doesn't she remind you of this person? And they're just like, standing there talking to me while my hair is drying under

the thing. They're all looking at me and just talking about how it looked like this girl and it's very obvious that they don't like this girl. So it was very awkward. And I was just like, okay, but then I'm like, I looked like a basic blond blue eyed Blue. Blue. Yeah, basic blond, blue haired

Berly

bit. blond haired,

LA

blue eyed. Like a basic blond haired blue eyed bitch. So I mean, it's not hard for somebody be like, Oh, you look really familiar look like so and so.

Berly

At least you don't get told you look like every redhead that exists. Yeah, I've been told Kathy Griffin Kate Winslet ginger spice. And I'm like they don't look anything alike. Yeah, how do I look like all of them? Right. But I think I have brought up on a previous episode that I did have a doppelganger running around Dallas. She was a stripper and people who saw her were so convinced it was me that a family friend almost called my parents to like rat me out that I was stripping which mind your

business? Right? If I was I was old enough to be doing it. But also it did freak me out that somebody looked so much like me that people were that convinced. Yeah, but when I said I'm on the lookout, I didn't mean I'm I don't care about my doppelganger.

LA

Oh, me. Um, no, I'm looking for like Jared and Jensen stole your wares. Richard, you know, they haven't seen one. Me neither. Enough about us.

Berly

Back to chanson. Okay, Mr. Ackles.

LA

In 2003. He participated in the sixth season of Dawson's Creek as CJ, which I didn't I never watched us on screen.

Berly

I did, but I didn't watch it religiously. Like a lot of my friends did. Like I have friends who were which I think that's the only reason I was watching. It was so I could participate in conversations when people were talking about freaking Dawson's Creek.

LA

Yeah, I feel like that's like I went back and watched Friday Night Lights, because I never watched that. I never watched that one loved it, though. Loved going back and rewatching the whole thing or not watching it for the first time. So I'm wondering if like Dawson's Creek or like the Smallville things like I wonder if I should go back and just check them out if I'd like them.

Berly

Maybe we might not. be able to, though, because you and I tried to start Gossip Girl over from the beginning, because we loved Gossip Girl back in the day. And we tried to start it over and we couldn't make it through the first two episodes. That's when we got a little farther into it. And we not. I don't think we did before we were both like, Are you into this? No. Are you into this? No. Well, just like the just wasn't, it wasn't the same. We aren't into the drama The way that we

used to be true. Where there just weren't as many hot guys and supernatural entities to keep us interested. There were no vampires darling. Exactly.

LA

Give me a little more, a little more than some high school drama, right. Anyway, we were we digress, we digress. So after Dawson's Creek, he got offered the role of the romantic couple of true Davies in the series true calling. But he actually rejected that invitations. And then in 2004, he participated in the fourth season of Smallville by playing the character of Jason teak.

Berly

Now I have heard about the Smallville role because I think he was actually younger than Tom Welling. And yet he was playing a character that was like the football coach or something, huh? So Tom Welling is the high school student and Jensen is like the high school football coach, but he was younger than Tom Well, like, I think I think that's right.

LA

You told me that because we were standing in line at the convention for something and I think I guess it had been Tom Tom wallings little panel or whatever know his little area to like sign stuff. And there were all these pictures. And I saw Jensen as the coach because I never watched it. Yeah. And you told me about that. And I was like, How weird.

Berly

Yeah, they're all the headshots out. Yeah. They were just sitting there, by the way.

LA

Well, they weren't headshots. They were like pictures from from the show like him and care. Right. But

Berly

they were like, printed out right. Yeah. glossy. Yeah. Really nice. And they were just sitting there. No one was watching them. Right. We should have just taken some. What would we have done with them? Just just to do it, you have to steal your clubs.

LA

fivefinger discount? Nah. Well, but in 2005, he started starring in the series that got him the prominence he was looking for in supernatural playing Dean lean, mean chapter. Oh my god, playing Dean Winchester. As far as the big screen he was in films, devour 2005, tenants hero in 2007, which is where he met Daniel. And apparently they were friends like Captain content for like 10 years before they started dating and got married.

Berly

Well, Jeffrey, Dean Morgan likes to say it was shady because they were both dating other people, but they clearly liked each other. And Jensen even gave Daniel a note that said, you know, not today, but someday. And people often keep people give them shit for it. But I'm like, come on, like when we were younger, you were so

afraid. And this is this is for men and women and everybody this is for any person, gender neutral, that sometimes you're so afraid of being the bad guy, that you end up becoming the bad guy by doing the wrong thing in the long run. Like you're so worried about breaking up with the girlfriend or the boyfriend because you're interested in somebody else or because there's just not any longevity here and feeling like that's not a good enough reason, you know? Yeah, just shut up. That's what I want

to say to people. Well cut them some slack. They were young.

LA

Right? And I mean, maybe they did, obviously like each other or whatever. But I'm sure in his eyes, like if he's in this relationship with this woman who she obviously does care about or whatever is not gonna break up with her. Just in hopes that Danielle will break up with me. You know,

Berly

even if they cheated on their partners with each other. I don't give a shit. Yeah, they were young. Right? You know?

LA

We all make mistakes. We're all dumb,

Berly

please. We're all dumb, silly. We're all dumb period. True.

LA

But I will say I'm very curious what Tennants hero is about?

Berly

I have no idea. I've seen pictures and clips is that the one where he has like a mohawk?

LA

I have no idea. I just read that. That's where he met her on that film.

Berly

Thank you. I think he has a mohawk or something at some point for some reason. But I've never seen it.

LA

Well, in 2009 he was in My Bloody Valentine 3d. And 2003 is when he started stepping into like the musical realm. Oh, and he helped with backup vocals and lyrics on his friend Steve Carlson's albums. And then he recorded his first cover of an Angeles Angels. Angeles looks like Angeles like when you say Los Angeles in 2012, and then that was with or with his friend Jason man's. He recorded three songs on cover albums for Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas simple man and the

wait. And then now of course hasn't he made some of his own albums and all that?

Berly

Well, he has a band called All radio company.

LA

There you go. That was not in this bio. Anyway,

Berly

I think they only have one, maybe two albums out. I don't think they have a lot out.

LA

I don't know. Well, I Liked this article that said needless to say he's an actor of somewhat of a small screen legend. He has branched out from acting and started a brewery. The idea of opening a brewery came to him when his co star on Smallville, Justin Hartley needed somewhere to store his small pilot brew systems. While he was moving, they he let him store it in his own backyard and let him pick it

up or whatever. But I guess it got him thinking so with his brother in law, Gino growl, bro, he figures as the owner of the breweries official website, then Daniell and all. So all three of them started making their own beer. So they have a brewery now in Austin. It's called Family Business Brewing Company. And you can go there to get beer, but they also have live music and food trucks. And they are also planning to expand into the restaurant business. Good luck. That's tough.

Berly

The restaurant business

LA

Hmm. Like owning restaurants. Yeah. They did this one article said that he has a little bit of a romantic, and his idea about love is simpler than devotional. And he once said in an interview, his ideal type would be someone who can pal around with him. And also be intimate with someone who can laugh at your jokes. It may sound cheesy, but someone who could be your best friend as well as your lover. And he said, that's quite a lovey dovey idea,

right? Which I guess is nice, because he did kind of marry his friend. I guess like, friend he always had a crush on but yeah. And then there's just like a bunch of little tidbits. Trivia stuff. Said he was afraid of lightning and thunderstorms in Texas as a kid, which is weird because like we grow up with them. That doesn't make them not scary. I know. I'm just so used to it. Like, there was one time it was like a tornado. There was a tornado that was supposed to

be nearby. And I was like, going like crazy outside and I like stepped it on my dad's patio. I was like, checking things out and was like, I probably shouldn't be out here right now.

Berly

I was like, I do that too. It's like I'll hear the sirens going off. Yeah. First thing I do is step outside to look at the sky and see you know, what's going on?

LA

Yeah, that's that's. That's born and raised in Texas.

Berly

What's going on out here?

LA

Yeah, check this out. Oh, stuff. I'll record. This was cute. He got suspended for preschool after a girl kissed him on the cheek. And then he turned around and kissed her on the lips. As they refer to steak, he hates sushi. His favorite season is the fall. His first concert ever was Michael Jackson in 1984. That's a good one. Yeah, he's a big fan of Game of Thrones. Apparently, when he was in middle school, some of his so called friends found a catalogue that he did where he was a model for

Superman pajamas. And they made as many copies as they could and paste them all over the school to embarrass them. Assholes. Yeah, well, depending. Like if this was high school. That could be fun. True. Yeah. Like, like, yeah, a prank or whatever. Yeah.

Berly

But if the intention was to embarrass him and hurt his feelings, then assholes.

LA

Oh, this was I felt I felt like this was for us that Eric Kripke key mentioned one time that he got so many requests from viewers to see Jensen and Jared with less on. Oh, so that's why he created skin that episode for Jensen to be shirtless. And then added a scene in the episode of Hell House for Jared to be shirtless just to please the fans. And I'm like, you could have done a little more. You didn't do enough. Yeah. Just one episode.

Each is not enough. Yeah. And then the amulet that Dean wears is actually a solid piece of brass. But apparently when he was doing stunt scenes, he was supposed to change to a rubber one. But there were so many times that he forgot to and he lost teeth and chipped a bunch of teeth with it and stuff like doing stunt scenes. Yikes. Yeah. Which I thought this it. I don't know if it's ever mentioned but they called it a sin the samulet

because Sam gave it to him. He also has a scar from filming Season Four and supernatural because they were using real glass and a scene. Oh, rather than the candy glass that they usually use instance, which was insisted on by Kim manners. But

Berly

such a bad I would definitely doing a director spotlight on him.

LA

Yes, yes. And I didn't know this. But Jensen was on the final shortlist to play Steve Rogers, Captain America. But he declined the offer so that he could continue his role as dean on Supernatural which is crazy because it's like a role of a lifetime. Yeah, but so as dean, as well. So that's, that's crazy. To me anyway.

Berly

So one role that you did leave out of your bio is Batman. Jensen has done for Ace work for animated series within the Batman universe. First, he voiced the Red Hood in one of the animated films, but he has been the Batman voice since 2022. And supposedly because of his performance on the boys as soldier boy, he's on the shortlist to be considered for Batman for the new James Gunn DC Universe, potentially another performance that was left out, but I'm gonna bring up because

it makes me chuckle. He was on an episode of wishbone.

LA

I don't know what that is.

Berly

It was a show that was about like history would be performed with like this little dog that kind of looks like the dog from Frasier and they put it in costumes. And it would perform little scenes from classic literature. So yeah, you don't remember wishbone bomber, and as far as soldier boy in the boys goes, I've seen that get a lot of criticism from Supernatural fans, who you

pointed out to me. They want Dean so of course they're not going to like soldier boy, but I love Jensen apples performances soldier boy. Yeah, I do too. So speaking of Jensen Ackles performances, what have been your favorite performances in supernatural? For these past three seasons?

LA

Um, I don't know. It's really hard for me because I have a terrible fucking memory. So I had to go back and look through like little blurbs of each episode. And so for season one, I picked skin not just because we finally got to see some skin. But I mean, I just liked the episode and then he did well. Jensen did well at playing like the two different parts like the shapeshifter version of him as well as

himself. That was I thought that was it was one of the like the first ones in the first season. I feel like where it showed his like, acting skills a little bit more. I guess I should like the rain. Yeah, yeah. What about you

Berly

season one, my favorite performance by Jensen Ackles was in Phantom traveler. I feel like that was the first one where they let him show his comedic chops. You know, they got to the airport. And suddenly it comes out. You know, I almost picked this one Yeah, suddenly comes out that he's scared of flying. And just the choices that he made in order to convey that and then on the plane, how he was acting and the whole Christo thing and all of that stuff. I

really enjoyed that. And I'm glad they did it so early on, so that we've gotten to see more and more comedic type episodes because, you know, I think the showrunners kind of figured out that they hit the jackpot with Jensen and Jared being able to do serious and comedy, and do it well. Yeah, so yeah, Phantom phantom traveler was my favorite Jensen Ackles performance in season one.

LA

That was a good one.

Berly

What about season two?

LA

Season Two? Kind of along the same vein of yours from season one I did Hollywood Babylon just because that he kind of cracked me up in that one just like how much he got into a pa pa roll when he wasn't a PA and then a meeting like the craft services and I don't know, it was just it was cute. It was funny.

Berly

Season two, it was funny. You and I kind of swapped Season Two My favorite was? What is and what should never be. Yeah. Where he was kind of transported by the Djinn to an alternate reality where his mother who had lived

LA

Yes, yeah, that was well, it was funny because I picked and it's very strange that I didn't pick a second one for any of the others but for some reason first season two I guess because I just liked both episodes so much. I picked Hollywood Babylon and then what isn't what should never be was my second but you were the opposite. I was weird as that

Berly

but it was hard to narrow it down for season two for me. It was hard to narrow it down to even just to Yeah, Folsom Prison Blues, his performance and not to Yeah, I mean, he just there were so many, even in my time of dying, where he wakes up and is having the out of body experience. There were so many stellar episodes in season two where Jensen Ackles really got to show off his range.

LA

Yeah, he shined a little more definitely than season one.

Berly

I agree. I agree but but if I have to pick one from season two, I'm going with what is and what should never be there will be he really tugged at my heart and that Episode No. Yeah, yeah. You could sense the longing and the conflict, the inner conflict that was going on with Should I stay in this alternate reality and just he did really well. I really enjoyed that one. What about season three?

LA

for season three? I picked go spacers just because he looked so it's my favorite episode. He looked really good. It plus it's just like I like we said it was like seeing them like being more real in their characters, I guess. Yeah.

Berly

Not having to live within the confines of the television network on which they were on because they were doing the whole bleeping them out. Exactly.

LA

Yeah. And it just seemed, I don't know. It's all it's almost like I wish we could get a whole season of that. of the the two of them being in that that zone, but I really liked that one, but also, from what you were saying for season two with what it is and what should never be the one that you picked caught me, but I'll talk about it once you get to it.

Berly

Yeah, my favorite Jensen Ackles performance in season three. And there were a few episodes in this one too. You know, once we got past fresh blood, and it wasn't so much campiness going on, which don't get me wrong, he killed the camp. He did well with the camp stuff. But once we got past that, there were a few episodes to pick from but Dream a Little Dream of Me, where he had to have a standoff with himself.

Yes. And I think they said it in the special features about how Jensen was making choices with his facial expressions and the way he was moving that even if the character wasn't talking, when the camera was on it, you knew if it was the real Dean, or the anti Dean, one scene is just great. It's like brilliant. It was really good and even things that he did like when they got out of the car and they saw Lisa at the picnic

LA

that so is that the one where she's got she's like, Come Oh my god, you

Berly

know, we got to go up just the way he held his shoulders even you could tell he was so uncomfortable that Sam was witnessing it was like vulnerable moment.

LA

He was like, it's like secretly what he wants but then to like know his brothers behind his shoulder like watching this it's like in He's almost like embarrassed by and

Berly

Jensen conveyed all of that with no dialogue. 100% no dialogue. I think the only thing he said was like, Shut up or something like yeah,

LA

like he even kind of like did it like aside I feel to like, like, acknowledge he knows he's right there looking. But that that's what reminded me also because of skin like he's so good that for one and season three, he's playing two different versions of themselves. But then in season one, he's playing a version of himself plus like this commodity other care. Yeah. So it's like, he's he is really good. Yeah, that seemed particularly that would have been my second choice

just for that scene alone. Dream a Little Dream. Yeah, it was.

Berly

It was impressive. Yeah. I mean, the whole episode is a work of art. But as far as like Jensen, Ackles performances Dream Dream, a little dream of me. It was really impressive, right?

LA

It was so hard for me. Like, because I don't have the best memory like you do. So like going back and reading the little blurbs. I'm like, trying to think of like, when it was so good that he did so good. I mean, he's good. And all of them, you know, right. But the standout ones, especially where it was more Deen focused, you know? But yeah, so those, I was generally a little bit

Berly

and then just as far as parts personality, I love that. He's like this grumpy person. Sometimes.

LA

We'll see. I didn't I never thought that but so when we went to when we went to the convention, and then you showed me some clips from other ones, right? I've just kind of noticed everybody else is a little more jovial. What and like, kind of goofy. And I'm like, you feel it feels like he takes himself a little more seriously. But then you told me about this

Berly

rump. Like, there was a panel clip that we watched where somebody asked them what Muppet they would be, and they could use Sesame Street characters and Jensen immediately. It was like an Oscar the Grouch? Like that was his answer right away. And I was just like, I can see it. I love it. I could see it. And he also said that he just knew that right off the bat. Yeah, it took them no time. Like I own it. I know. And he said that part of the reason why he loved soldier boy is because he's like this

cantankerous old man. He's like a man out of time. But he's like, the angry old man version of Captain America. And I love that for him. Because I feel like that's a part not all of his personality. But that's a part of his personality. Right? And I love it. I love it.

LA

I honestly, I when you told me he was gonna be at the boys. I was just like, okay, and it took me a long span of time to get through it just because my watch shows on my brother and we're so bad about, like, binging them together, like Avengers show by myself, right? But with him, it's like it's a struggle. So we watch like season, or I'm sorry, episodes two and three. And I was like, I was excited to get to Jensen. I didn't want to be like, Hey, bro, like, come on. I

Berly

need we have a goal.

LA

There's that scene, bro. Like, come on. I was very patient. We finally got there. And but I was honestly like, so impressed. And I like I'm I'm a movie snob like all that stuff. So and I take like all the awards or like the award ceremonies or like my Super Bowls. Yeah, but like genuinely I would not be surprised if he was like nominated for an Emmy for that role because he just did so fucking good. He did.

He's been he I mean it's raunchy and like, all kinds of stuff so I feel like he Probably won't be just for that matter because Hollywood's got to stick up their ass. He was submitted. We know that man. Yeah. So I would love to see him nominated.

Berly

Nailed it. Oh my god, he nailed it. I mean, when you think about the screen time of soldier boy, yeah. And how much people have talked about soldier boy. Like it doesn't line up right. And that's because he just did. So well. You can't help but walk away from the last season of the boys. Yeah. Talking about soldier boy.

LA

Oh, yeah. Like you said, like kind of the grumpiness of of Dean a little bit or whatever. disgruntled

Berly

but like Jensen, the grumpiness of Jensen there. Yeah.

LA

Do you do a little bit? Yeah. But I just think like, what a contrast and characters from what you've seen him do before until this role. So and I

Berly

think that's why there were so many supernatural fans who did like soldier boy. Well, we yeah, we talked about that. You know, you die hard fan. Yeah. They wanted to see basically another incarnation of Dean I think, which is so crazy to me. Because

LA

like, if you like, I mean, I get love loving the character. I totally get that right. But then like for the actor you want them to be able to branch out to and like, it's exciting to see him and it's something else like it was I loved it.

Berly

I yeah, I thought he nailed it. I thought he nailed it. And I'm curious, because apparently, there were some things that crypkey wanted him to do that they didn't do that he like drew a line in the sand. And I'm like, what was it? Because he had you do a lot of things.

LA

Yeah, there were some seeds. Again, I watched the show with my brother. So there were some scenes, I was like,

Berly

Okay, you did a lot of stuff. So where did you draw that line?

LA

Even the dialogue is so fucking inappropriate. Like it was. It's crazy. But oh, I did. And one of the things I read, I read that he was just on the phone with crypkey at one point, just talking about just whatever. And then he actually had before they got off the phone. He was like, Well, what's going on over the boys. And crypkey, like, told him that they were about this new character that we're gonna bring

in. And he was like, you know, if you want to, like, send in an audition or whatever, or if you want to read it, let me know. And so he said, he read it. And he was like, Oh, I have to have this, I have to have it. And he said that there were at least like two or three other like, big name movie stars that were like on the list that they wanted. I don't know how to talk

and breathe. So in this interview that I was reading, he the guy was like, Can you let me I shouldn't take the person doing the interview was like, so do you want to give me those names? And he was like, oh, no, I can't give you the names. And he was like, but and it was like an a zoom interview because I think he was overseas. He was like, maybe next time when we're in personnel whispering into your ear and tell you who they were. And I'm very. I'm like, can

Berly

be there too. But I definitely read multiple articles where both crypkey and Jensen were talking about how he was just handed the role. Right. He's friends with Eric crypkey. Yeah. And again, I was like, when I read that, and that he had to audition. I was like, really? Yeah, he had to audition. He had to fight for it. Yeah. Good for him. So good. My Bloody Valentine. I haven't seen any of his movie. True. Yeah. And I love Dean

Winchester. Don't get me wrong. But soldier boy, that performance just holds a special place in my heart. I wouldn't want to hang out with soldier boy.

LA

I'd hate to get assaulted.

Berly

To hang out with Dean. I'd go have drinks with. I wouldn't want to hang out with him. But just that performance, and he just killed it. Yeah. Like that could have been a character that you absolutely hated. But he made it so interesting to where you could not wait for the next scene was soldier

LA

boy. Yeah. But that's why I'm also I'm always so curious when they're, I hate that. They're always so secretive about stuff, but I get it. But that's why I'm so curious to know who the other ones were. Because it's like you, when you find that out? When it's like years later, they finally like let you know, you know. And so you sit there and you're like,

how would they have done? And I'm just so curious to see who they would have been to see in my mind if like, I think they could have done done a better job. And I'm, I'm sure they couldn't have because he did such a good job. But I'm just so curious,

Berly

curious to know who it was. I am curious as well. I'm curious as well. I'm trying to think what other panel moments that we watched from the panels that we looked up? Oh, yeah. I asked people what their favorite Jensen Ackles anecdotes were. I received a lot of messages from listeners who said they really like when he talks about his daughter JJ. And how like she doesn't She's not scared of

shit. Whenever he's talking to his kids, the other ones he'll put on his dad voice and there'll be scared, but JJ will just be like, Okay, and just stare him like right in the eyes. Or he'll say maybe you need to go in timeout. And that she'll just be like, okay, and go and just sit there. And I'm like, I cannot wait for that little girl's.

LA

I thought you were gonna say she's like, maybe you should. Like,

Berly

maybe your daughter is going to be a badass like your mama. Oh, yeah. And I think it's fun that you can tell he's so proud of her for that. Yeah. And then another anecdote was whatever people have recognized him one specifically that a listener sent in was whenever he was with his mom, and somebody turned around was like, Hey, you look like that guy from that show. And Jensen said, what show and he said supernatural, and just was like, oh, yeah, I get

that a lot. And then the guy was like, Alright, have a good day and walked off. And his mom just kind of like, shamed him, like, don't do that and went and got the guy and let them know that it was him from the show. So he's, he's a goofy, cranky old man. And what I'm saying, old man, I'm not talking about his age, but just I want to clarify, I don't think 45 is old. Oh, God, no. Yeah. No, I don't think

he's literally an old man. I'm talking about his personality that he has like this old man, Jensen that comes out on occasion. I think that's hilarious. Yeah. But he's also a goofy nerd. And I love that too.

LA

We also before this episode, watch, they're a little architectural. Words are really bad for me, right? Real hard. Architectural architect. You know, in everyday life, when I'm just talking these words, just come. This microphone is in front of me. I'm like, It's

Berly

just we've also been drinking.

LA

I mean, no, I don't believe. Anyway, Architectural Digest, went to their house in Austin. They live on obviously live on Travis Lake, which beautiful lake trout was not Travis Lake Lake Travis. Beautiful area, which all the celebrity moat. Well, I can't say all but the majority of the celebrities I hear of that live in Austin are living off the lake. But it was super cute. They have a very

eclectic style. I love that. So much of the artwork in their house was from local artists in Austin, which is crazy, because like, they lived in Los Angeles for years, it seemed like and then made the decision to move to Austin. I mean, it was just really cool. Not afraid of color. Like as we watched it, we were like, I mean, you know, okay, it looks fine. Like, looks good, but I wouldn't have done that. But like, okay, like good for you guys.

Berly

I liked that. It was quirky. Yeah, the things that they wanted to highlight, like the little diorama was in the wall. Yeah, those were crazy. He's like, that is so quirky. I would have never thought to have done that in my home. I don't think that I ever would do that in my home. But I love that they did that in their home. Right? Like

LA

totally not necessary. And when she was explaining, I was like, huh, yeah, but then when she said I was like, Okay, that was kind of glib. I mean, it's like, especially if you have a home like that, where you're, you've got all this art and it is it has so many different things. Like that's just something cool that you could

show off. Yeah. And then their kitchen was this like, bright yellow against all these, like, they have a fucking amazing stove that I forget the brand here, but I've seen it before. And I know it's like 1000s of dollars. And then just like they I think they actually had their awkward architect there. It was a real awkward moment.

Berly

It was really weird. I was gonna say I don't know that it really was their architects because Oh, it's just playing at the piano. He never turned around. We never saw his face. I think she said it was well they said it was it was they said it was but I'm just saying that could have been anybody.

LA

That's true. I never turned around on camera. But they did mention him a bunch and in the different things that they did. Like the curvature, they kept the curvature of this spiral staircase into a wall into the bathroom. They have a great outside and enclosed patio that I'm like super dolls have. They had a whole frickin diet like probably like a 12 person dining table out there. Yeah. Huge. But they were super cute. I actually really liked the dress she was wearing to in the little excerpt

or whatever it is. Yeah. She was super cute. I liked when she was there going in the bedroom. She said the magic. This is where the magic happens. He was like, no, no. He's like, take that out. She's like, No, keep it. I thought that was cute. But yeah, just a lot of like quirky things. I recommend looking at it on YouTube because it was just it's kind of a cute little insight into their them plus their little house so

Berly

my only criticism is that their door knocker freaked me out.

LA

Well did you notice at the end so they they opened the front door and it's a hand it doesn't look very strange. But then at the end when they're like closing the door it's on the inside too. I didn't see that. It's like the exact same one on the inside where like they're basically touching between the door

Berly

weirded me out and I don't know why but it really like made me uncomfortable. I didn't like it, but that's an other I thought that it was really quirky and really cute. And their dynamic is really cute. But you got to see the dimensions of his personality in this very short little expert. Honestly, you got to see kind of the cranky old man as well as the goofy nerd. Yeah.

LA

Oh, I mean, like, she's so cute and sweet. Like, Oh, I love her. Yeah, yeah. And I also like that they're doing a lot of things together now as far as like they produced and did all the Winchester stuff, which unfortunately got cancelled. I did see that they also have a first look TV deal with Amazon. That's gonna I don't know what it's going to be but they like got that going for after the Winchesters are cancelled, so

we'll see. Who knows. Yeah, but I just like that they're doing all these endeavors together. Now the business with the brewery and all these so good for them.

Berly

I tried to do a deep dive on blind items. Oh, yeah, there ain't shit. He's actually a good dude

LA

figures because he doesn't live in LA and it's a family man.

Berly

But I mean, he lived in LA at one time he lived in he's been in the Hollywood scene for a while if he was an asshole or a bad person, there'd be something true and there's nothing good. So he's actually a good person. Yeah, we love it. Whenever we find out he's actually good, cuz he's from Texas. Oh,

LA

specifically the Dallas area. Although I shouldn't say that a lot of people criticize the Dallas Dallasites but whenever

Berly

we aren't all bad. Yeah, quote, close it out. It's from Jensen Ackles. I do not know the source. So I have no idea if this is real. But I really want it to be says I'm a mad gummy fan. I always have gummies in my trailer. But you can't eat too many. Because then you get gummy tummy. And that's no good. I can't believe I'm saying this.

LA

Nice, cherish yours.
