So last episode is our season premiere. Lazarus rising.

So Dean's Lazarus

was something rising. So it's been four months since Dean was molded by the hellhounds. And take him to hell, but he wakes up in a pine box. He's been freed from hell, but they don't know by who. First. He has a joyful reunion with Sam and Bobby. But it isn't long before they all wonder what exactly pulled Dean from hell. And what will it want in return? Turns out was this little sexy Angel. Well,

this episode is titled you hated this

title.

Are you there? God? It's me. Dean Winchester. What did I say? It should have been called. Where's the pie? Yeah. Or something

should be titled. Where's the pie? Yeah.

This was the second episode of season four. It aired on September 25 2008. And it starts out, we see a lady who looks like she fell asleep on her couch. She's awoken suddenly goes over to this area next to her bed and slide some things over and it's she's got an arsenal. So right away, we know she's a hunter badass. She's got her shit right there next to her bed. No, no wasted time. She pulls out a gun. She's kind of going around her apartment. And

massive bag of salt. Yeah, it's

like a suede like very fancy big bag.

Like she's a hunter who knows her shit.

She's on it. Yeah. And she's like, got the gun pointed at him backing up into her room. But then there's another one right behind her. She turns around and says girl, same thing dirty and she's like, I'm so sorry. Livia says I'm so sorry. And the girl reaches into Olivia's chest and just kills her. We don't know really like what happened at this point? Like how they killed her. But we found out

Yeah, really. And that was supernatural. I know you like my special effects over here. I'm real good with my throat. Oh, that came out. II.

Next up, Bobby, Sam and Dean are at Bobby's house, which we find out later as we go on. The Bobby's house is pretty fabulous. And Sam and Dean are kind of arguing overcast yell like Sam is gung ho heavy he is there's an angel in the world.

Yeah. And there's proof it made me think of houses of the holy and how he wanted so badly to believe in angels. He just was ecstatic. It seemed. He was really Yeah,

it was fun. And of course Dean's like still questioning like, I mean, come on, you know, bad things happen to good people. Where where's God out when all this shitty stuffs happening to good people?

I did like when Dean said I don't like to be singled out at a birthday party, let alone be singled out by God. I felt for that. Yeah. Well, sorry,

Dean. To add. You got work to do for God

with an angel. And that asks.

They all agree that they're going to do some research to kind of read up on angels like this snake food Angel bat Angel, like they got to figure it out. They send Sam out to get snacks and Dean specifically tells him he wants some pie. And then he's on the phone to him while Sam's on the way reminding me he wants chips as well. And then Sam gets to a little convenience store and Ruby is there creeping around the corner waiting for him

picked creeping around the corner with a perfect cheekbones. Oh, yeah, perfect jawline, her perfect hair.

Oh, yeah. And those eyes and he goes over to the side of the store meter and she's asking if it's true. What happened with Dean if it was an angel and he confirms Yes. And she's like, I'm out. Hmm, like I'm done with this situation and he's like, What the hell? And she says, you know, angels when it comes to angels, they smite first and ask questions later, she's like, I'm a demon. Like, he's gonna take me out. So yeah, she tells him that and takes off and leaves them in the dust. He goes in and

And it was so funny because he literally asked, When do I ever forget the pie? Right, right. La called it? Yeah, he was gonna forget the pie.

Because by the time Sam gets back with snacks, Bobby and Dean already have a plan. They're gonna go find Bobby's friend Olivia, who we know what happened to her. But he hasn't heard from her. He's been reaching out to her because she knows about these kinds of things. Angels are, you know, I don't know what she knows. But he just knows she knows something.

Yeah, they didn't really go into detail about it just that she was somebody Bobby wanted to reach out to and it's not like her to be unresponsive. Exactly. Yeah.

And she has been for I think he said three days. Yeah. So they're packing up. When Sam gets back, Sam throws a bag of snacks at Dean Bobby's getting in his car. And that's when Dean discovers and it's like, Dude, Where's My pie? I mean, I feel like we've really grazed over how that but the pie just seemed so important.

It was important.

They had over to Olivia is all three of them have guns. They're walking in slowly chi. They see that she had poured the salt line. Her big bag still sitting on the floor. They cross over. She is on the floor in front of her bed.

Horror, Olivia.

Oh my gosh. Like literally chest ripped open from the middle just bone sticking out blood. Like her chest cavity is empty.

This wasn't even some doc bitten shit. Nothing surgical about Oh, god. No, like it was violent. And they didn't show it directly. But still, it was gory as all hell yeah.

Oh, I remember. We were I mean, obviously we drink and we're watching this, but I had just taken a big gulp of my drink. Yeah, I watched it. And I was like, it like took me a second to be able to take my gold without gagging. Looking at it. I don't know. I'm not one with a weak stomach. But it was a bit much.

Yeah. This is a shame.

I guess she was a badass.

How do y'all keep introducing badass characters? Now again, they are the best written characters. I'll be honest, like the female characters. Come on, y'all can do better. But even the characters that have potential, y'all keep introducing them and just killing them off right away.

I also wonder like they had so many actresses in this show. I'm like, what? How many of them went on to do other things that like, I just be curious.

Yeah, I want to I want to see Olivia story. Jo Ellen, where are they still? Surely they're gonna come back to them?

Oh, yeah. Well, I was talking about the actresses themselves. Oh, so many different female actresses on the show.

I have seen people repeat things about actors. It's a lot of Vancouver. Canadian actors. Oh, that Oh, that makes sense. And so like everybody has been on Supernatural so it's a lot of people who tend to do guest starring roles is what I've taken from what I've seen. Okay. Well, they're all beautiful. I just I would like to see more Pamela I would have liked to see more Olivia and I don't I don't know if we will you know obviously we're not going to see more of Olivia

that's that one we know this spook suspicion and Bobby and he. He says let's split up can you go see my friends here? I'm gonna go check on my other Hunter friends here. And we see that they all find that they're on the phone to each other. They're like, you know, let's head back to Bobby's figure out where we go from here. figure out who's doing this. They stop it again. The boys stop at a gas station on the way back and Dean's asleep in the car. Sam

like our white claws that you left in the freezer. Yeah, put them in the freezer.

Like a slush slushy. And he sees lo and behold behind him Hendrickson, our Special Agent Victor Henderson who did not think we're gonna

see him again. I didn't either I thought he was done for but I mean, he is well yeah, like be clear. We get them in this episode. It was it was fun. Was fun to see him. And he's not happy. He's really not happy with Sam when his Hinrichsen ever

happy. That's true. Well, he did have a little glimmer of a moment in his last episode. He

did he did. Anyway,

he is pissed. He's pissed at Sam and he starts blaming Sam and Dean the for the fact that he died and he and Sam getting to a tussle during the tussle shocking I know everybody's gonna be really shocked by this but slant slam Sam get slammed up against a wall. You don't say it's fucking crazy that Shazam up against a wall and Hendrix hasm and lean, you know, up on

but I don't know it could be like that toad and bedtime stories. That's true. I still need some extra money sometimes they really zoom in on something and we're like, oh, yeah, that's gonna be real important. And then just nothing nothing. Yeah, it's on occasion. But this time you're right

almost right after he sees this little brand Dean comes in because of course he does. Perfect timing and save Sam they take off to head back to Bobby's they get to well before they get to Bobby's we see Bobby at his house. And

he's the shining moment yes.

And which is very odd, because we we know very little about Bobby's backstory. So when these two girls showed up who look almost like twins at the bottom of stairs, and he's you can tell he's freaked out he's or no no. Didn't it start out something that it's sort of freezing in a house and that's why he like picked up something like an iron thing from his fireplace.

It got cold in the house and they bounce that ball down the stairs so

he's he's got that in his hand freaked out turns around and there are two little girls there like you said a very much a shining moment they look like they can be twins and I can't remember what they say but I think they just said something about how he didn't

it's real repetitive with the go save them essentially all the ghosts we meet this episode are like I'm dead because of you it's your fault so like all of them are going to be saying essentially the same thing

yeah and then I think they mentioned like that you could have saved us from the monster but you didn't so weird because what the hell Bobby We don't know anything about you

I want more Bobby back sorry I do to get me more right where's the trickster?

Now the boys end up showing up at Bobby's go inside Bobby's not there Bobby's gone but they can kind of tell just from the state of the house like something like the fight See that little thing of iron weapon he was carrying. So Sam goes out to the junkyard and starts walking around with the little the iron whatever it was that Bobby had been going around the house with Dean takes salt gun with salt do you take his the his usual gun and he's gonna search the house.

Wait a minute. We got to talk about it. What? The stained glass window.

Oh, okay. Okay, it was so it was hard. I was gonna go because this this happened so back and forth. Like it did flash from Sam in the junkyard to Dean upstairs and there's so many things so yes, go to your sting.

I want to talk about st last one. Bobby's house is apparently fabulous. And I don't know if there's like fan art of it or something. But I would like to see what does his house look like from the outside?

I feel like it from the inside. It looks like one of those old school that beautiful large, like two three storey Victorian home. Yeah. But it's sitting on a junk.

Yeah, exactly. I want to see it. Yeah, I want so badly to see it. So if anybody knows of any fan art of Bobby's house in the singer Salvager I would like to see that. So please send it to me. I'm just been going up the stairs and that beautiful stained glass window behind them. I was just like, oh, this is fabulous.

It's old. It's definitely older on the inside, but it looks like it's a great house. Good bones. But as you're referencing the windows as Dean is upstairs, guns blazing. We see Meg show up. She doesn't look like Meg we knew, right? She again she's dirty. And she has longer hair to her shoulders. And she starts telling Dean how this was me before the demon took over and did you know change the way I looked? I think she might have mentioned being slutty or horror or something. Yeah, she

said before the demon took over my body cut my hair and dressed me like a slut. Right? I never thought this should look pretty great. When she said that, I was just like, oh, oh no. What does that say about me that I've thought Meg has been fabulous in the past. Like maybe she's

just a very modest girl. Maybe you know? Yeah, clearly because I mean, she hadn't like a long sleeve shirt on jeans or long hair. No makeup. Still looked great. She did. She still looked fabulous. So she proceeds to tell him how she was just a college student one night walking home to her dorm and all share memories of being attacked by like black smoke. And then that she was alive in her body conscious the entire time that

telling you I just feel like Bobby's houses. Oh,

yeah, it's crazy. I want to see. Now all of these seeds are kind of jumping back and forth between what Dean's doing and Sam's doing. Sam is out in the junkyard, as we know searching for Bobby can't find them looking through all the rest of gas cars. And out of nowhere, I think he sees a little rearview mirror or something start to freeze up or some other piece. I don't know what it was. And so he he knows because that's what happened when Hendrickson came

Yeah, and it was kind of up higher. So it was one of the trucks that was stacked on top of some other Jeeps too.

And they're just like hovering over him.

I didn't like it. But we already know Eric crypkey. Like thinks that creepy children are fabulous. And these creepy children were very fucking creepy. I didn't I didn't like them. Yeah, they were like covering Bobby's mouth and like holding him down. And but they didn't go into his chest yet, right? No, no. And Dean comes up and tries to start opening the door of the car that

they're in. And one of the girls like jumps on him. And because he has a little iron thing he's able to like, push it through her, she disappears. Bobby, now that he just has one, I guess these little girls are really strong. Now just one little girls there is able to bust the door open and he's got

movie though. It's a good movie. I enjoyed. Oh, yeah. I haven't seen that in a while. Oh. I picture this chair. God. I

mean, I've got some WD 40

listeners. Forgive me. I'm just real fucking lazy. We'll get it fixed. All right. All right. So Sam has saved Bobby. Dean has vanquished bag. They've reconvened there in the populous little panic room.

Yeah. So it's this circular room made of iron. Like the walls are covered in iron. There's the devil's trap little grate in the ceiling.

On the vent. I was just like,

oh, and I think on the on the floor as well. He has a whole arsenal of weapons in there, which Dean is very excited and impressed by they're checking it out and asking Bobby like where when the hell did you do this? And I think while we was like, I had a free weekend. Threw it together no big deal. And then they see that there's this poster on the wall. There's a bed. Keep in mind there's a bed in there like there's enough for him to be in there and

it almost hurt my heart more than Hendricks Center mag like to see Ron Oh, I wasn't expecting Ronald. I wasn't either. He was on night shifter and he was so fun. Oh,

you sweetheart. He was a little nutty, which I appreciate and, and, and I will say in Dean's defense. The way that he went down Dean told him not to do what he did and go out there with his gun running into fire basically like where they could easily see him and shoot him. But he did end up dying. I guess you could say under Dean's watch. So he's there obviously debating with Dean on the stairs. You know you didn't save me and it flashes back to that scene, which is heartbreaking.

Bobby does specifically Yeah,

Bobby's like we don't have time to chit chat your boys like I understand that we you know, whatever. But now they get upstairs and he asked Sam to go upstairs and get some box. I forget what was in the box. I think it was that. He had discovered some sort of ritual that he wanted to do that was going to vanquish these spirits. And it required certain things certain herbs certain things

ingredient. Yeah, some of the ingredients were upstairs in a special box. Some of the ingredients were in a kitchen so he split the boys up Sam go upstairs, Dean go to the kitchen.

And Sam runs upstairs as he's opening this little cabinet with this fabulous box in it that he's supposed to be getting next shows up and she is blaming him getting in his ear. Again. This isn't my Sam but this Sam you're so hung up on this Sam just kind of looks at her like irritated and like annoyed. And then just bucket shoots her in the face

while she was also bringing up like I know what you've been doing with Rooby Roo Shut up it

Yeah. How

many bodies has Ruby burned through? Which makes me think like, has he been with Ruby this whole time? Like, I'm getting a feeling Yeah, I'm kind of like what's going on the salmon Ruby? But yeah, she was like saying, oh,

you know what that demon did to me and you're just doing all this stuff with Ruby. And that's when he was just like, I mean, I feel like we've kind of known where he was after I quit being a killjoy and he shot her in the head. Yeah.

Plus he's like don't talk and speak up or my brother can hear I like I said I feel like we've known Ruby's really been been gunning for Sam and many ways. Now downstairs in the kitchen where Dean has tasked getting the other ingredients Hendrickson shows up again. And this is interesting to me and kind of also heartbreaking that he says you know what, what you think I just blew up in this white light but it was an easy

who is he Are you you don't know who this Sammy is you know you wanted a darker Sammy and now you're like upset about it.

I'm being I like I said I want my darker Sammy but also still the love with him and his trust with him and his brother. Yeah, but now the fact that that's not there and he starkly I don't know who is this man? I can't take it the boys Sam Dean beat Bobby in the office um, the main area where he always has the devil's trap

when they were saying they had to perform the spell over and over fire. I think they said oh yeah the fireplace in the library right

Bobby starts the ritual. The guys have their guns up. They're ready for what's going to happen and all the ghosts show up. Chaos ensues like mags there? Ronald there. Hendrickson is there these weird twins is Rando twins. We don't know anything about are there. It starts kind of almost like storming and all that they had put salt everywhere obviously. And the wind starts blowing the salt so the ghosts can get closer to

did. We were what as we were watching the episode, the ghosts all seem to be going after Sam and Dean. And I even said you did you call? I did. I was like I even said, Why is nobody going after Bobby. And as soon as I said it, Meg went after him. And I was like, Yeah, I immediately regretted it. I was

real worried about Bobby to not kill him right now. But he's such a badass, he continues his ritual as this entity is trying to rip his heart out of his body. And I think he meant he like shoots Dean, like, yells at Dean or like something to tell him. Now as he's saying, this ritual, he's got this big gold bowl with all the ingredients they had gone to get that they needed for this, which as you mentioned, they needed the fire because they're you're supposed to throw it on fire. Fire the

Dean, he's been touched financial.

Exactly. That's obviously slides over and just catches the ball with ease. Throws this all this stuff on the fire and all that the entities all the ghosts or whatever, they are disappear. Mission accomplished. Yeah. And Bobby is okay. Thank God. Yes. Now, big sweet Sammy is on the little couch sleeping. Well, not so sweet anymore. But Dean is on the floor, of course, giving his brother the comforts of life. He doesn't care sacrificing himself. And we hear a little tous rustling outside a little

Yeah. And immediately, like, as our listeners know, we're aware of the ships. Yeah, so we're aware of

GSTL what I expected with this whole thing, I was like, Oh, this is obviously they build a rapport. They've got good friendship, chemistry, that's where people are reading into it. And this this is obviously something that's going to happen later on that all kind of be like, Oh, okay, I kind of get it. No,

I thought the same thing. No, I

was like, Oh, okay. This scene literally like what this is the second scene, they're in together and I was like, Oh, okay. Wow. Yeah, there's sexual chemistry between my god yeah, it's funny because I would I would love to see what the people on set. Were thinking about this. Like how this all played out if everybody else was like, Oh, okay.

Yeah, I don't think they knew. I really don't based off of what I've heard. I don't think they knew but again, like seeing this like I just remember watching this be like, oh, like it really is just like right off the bat it Yeah, I

don't know how people wouldn't have seen it. Take we're not chipper. Yeah, sure.

But we 100% Salt right away. Yeah. Yeah. Represent. Yeah, where

you're coming from? Because yeah, I could get like, I guess take average take they're not like getting it. But then once the finished product of that one scene, I think I'd be like, Oh, it was sexy. But of course that's probably before people like really did this whole

this ship or thing hadn't exertion. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. But I feel like

me on set or like, if I had been in editing I was I would have been like, Oh, damn,

right. I would think if I was in editing, yeah, I would have realized this is real hot.

Well, and I wonder who did the editing to because think about it if they did take off. There were so many kind of ways they could have done it is the way they cut it together. This was the finished product. Yeah.

And it was hot. Kinda get really excited talking about editing. It was just real sexy. It was whoever decided put this together and decided this is the finished product. Yeah. Congratulations. Yeah, well, fucking I enjoyed it.

I mean,

okay, okay, so we cut off with you talking about Dean just walking his saunter, right. Slow saunter into the kitchen continue and it gets better from there. I know.

Castile says, you know, good work with the mark of the witnesses and means like, oh, yeah, like Where were you? Like, real good on that angel assistance. Castillo's like such a cool cucumber who's like why we had other things to take care of you You know, there were other concerns, other concerns? And he's like, oh, yeah, they're concerns. And then he goes off on this rant and he's like, you know, where were you? Well, I don't believe there is a garden to castles like yes, there is a

the whole thing about God. And as Cassie L is about to say clearly about say, God, Miss works in mysterious ways. Oh, that's right. Yeah. That's when Dean is like, have you say that God works in mysterious ways. So hold me I will kick your ass. Yeah, I can see I'll just put his hands up.

You get a shot of Dean's face where he like, it's very obvious he he's just like, Jesus. Like, holy shit. I just said this to an angel that like, pulled me from hell like, and I'm threatening to kick his ass. Like, there's no way this entity

that could snap their fingers and end by lie. Yeah. And I'm threatening them like, right? Yeah, I should really be putting my place real listen.

They continue talking and Castiel tells him that this mark of the witness is part of the 66 seals. And he says to think of the seals as doors, closed doors, and each time one opens, something is released. And once you get to the 66th Seal, what have you. Lucifer is released upon the world. And Lilith is the one that put this catalyst in motion. She's the one that summoned the first seal broke it. And she's continuing to try to break each seal until she gets 66. Dean kind of mouths off

out of my personal space. And he had throne room to do that. He

she absolutely did, but he did not move an inch. And as this moment is happening, Castiel is mentioning that he should show him some respect. And Dean kind of, he doesn't move back, but he kind of moves his head a little bit to the side away from him to be like, Oh, okay. Oh my god, I have to go back one moment before all this when Dean walked in that really

bothered me. Oh, I know what you're gonna say.

And when Casio was like, Good work, and Dean's like, Oh, you're hip to all this. I was like I'm sorry. I know when the show was happening. And nobody said that. We're not in the 60s or 70s You're hip to this

I'm going to start saying it your hip to this God your hip to that so that really bothered me. I liked

it. It was so out of character for him but this whole fucking scene was out of character for him so I don't know. Again like I was aware that there was some sort of shipping but like knowing that in the back of my head but then it's he's first of all, he's beating him in the middle of the fucking night. Everybody else is asleep. I mean, what does that tell you? Right there he's awaken only by him. Nobody else in the house heard this rustling that there's a man in the

mean, come on. Just talking about talking about the end of the world. The Apocalypse is coming threatening and angels threatening each other. Like it Castile moving into his personal space and him refusing to move. And it's like I can understand like that he was trying to stand his ground, but at the same time, it's just like,

it was even the intense eye contact. Yeah, like not a minute was broken.

I think it was sexy. It was a fucking sexy scene. And I don't think they meant for it to be but no Holy shit. It was sexy.

That moment where Dean kind of looks away for the second and then looks directly back at his face and then into his eyes. I mean, come on, it was hot. So looking forward to some more scenes of that right or between them. We're gonna get them to those two, both to know how to speak proper English.

We're gonna get some more,

but I'm curious to see how this this plays out. Because if this is the start, I mean, I can't imagine how the rest of this is gonna go.

So let's move past that scene. It's gonna be hard but let's do it. Because you also had your Sammy here Sammy saying,

Oh my god. Okay, Dean wakes up as if this was all a dream. Then he looks directly over in the kitchen where Castile was in

La had me hit pause so she could recreate it on the couch. She was like, oh, like moving her hair like moving behind her ears.

And I feel like it was a combination between like a zoo lander and a Jim Carrey character face.

I feel like it was also the angle from coming down below the way the camera was angled. that contributed to it. Like maybe if it was up higher, and from a different angle, it wouldn't have looked as goofy. But after you like we're like, Oh, my God, pause it and recreated it. And then I had to rewind it, because then I had to see what she was talking about, of course, so hurry wild. And I watched it and I died. Laughing

it's I mean, if you weren't paying attention, you would have noticed it, but it caught my eye and I was like, Oh my God. Oh, so yeah, that's how and I was so wrapped up in the nighttime meet meet cute.

Oh my god.

But then that was like a reprieve. Yeah. Okay. All right, we're good. Back to the show. Back to the read regularly Eric show.

So it was written by Sarah gamble. And it was on Sarah Lou Bello. And it was directed by Phil so Grecia kudos Phil, right. Now we have core there was no war in this at all.

The chest open. Oh, God. I've

heard a lot about that. Oh, my God, that was very gory. Yeah,

we only saw her. We got a couple of glimpses when the guys found the other hunters, but it was nothing like open chest.

Olivia. Real bad. Olivia has chest cavity just completely being exposed. Yeah, that was the glorious thing in this episode for sure. Who knows? Oh, yeah, makeup, or whoever did that. It was done really? Well. disturbing. It was for sure. So what did you adore about this episode? I have a feeling we're gonna have the same thing.

I mean, the whole meet cute kitchen thing. Yeah, obviously the kitchen

saying but I think by far the kitchen scene,

the moment would have to be where? I mean, I feel like I don't know why I adore about where Castile is like basically dominating Dean and saying that he needs to give him respect. which is So in contrast to the the beginning of this conversation where Dean was the one like, in charming at him. But then now No, he's putting his place as Andenes. Like, like, literally the only eye contact he breaks is to look down from that for a second.

Submit then look right back at him. It was hot. Yeah, yeah, me too. Kitchen. Door. Kitchen, same kitchen, same kitchen saying yeah, I adored it. I also did enjoy seeing Ronald again. I did hit Roussanne and Manic Panic Room. Yeah, the panic room was amazing. Yeah, the panic room was amazing. And it was great having these callbacks to these characters from past. Definitely. I wish they weren't so angry and whatever. But it was it was still nice to see

you, you I don't think you've seen Kevin in the woods. The new one. I haven't. Well, it's interesting because in that the whole premise Well, I don't want to get way until spoil it. Yeah. But what I want to say basically that the reason these people are there with this family, they each time something I guess each time is a decision is not made. They say a judgment has been made. And what was the other thing? The seals? Yeah, what you're talking about? So it was a judgment and then what?

apocalyptic event right kind of cataclysmic event so

yeah, that's exactly what happens in the in the thing like, they say, humanity has been judged. And then something happens.

I need to watch it. You do.

I don't see any I mean, it's not amazing or crazy great. But I liked it. It was it was it was wild.

This war wasn't fun. Most of our Laura's fun.
