1989 - Part One (Horror & Sci-Fi)

Devin & James are back for another exploration of a year in film! This time we take a deep dive into the year 1989. In this first of a three-part series, we begin with the horror and science fiction entries of '89. So many major horror titles came to life this year, including deep-sea adventures The Abyss and Leviathan, bizarre foreign entries like The Church, Santa Sangre, and Tetsuo: The Iron Man, and American oddities like Society and Parents. Plus Stephen King took us on our first cinematic visit to a Pet Semetary. And 1989 was packed with slashers too, with introductions to some new maniacs, and visits from all three of our favorite classic madmen Michael, Jason, and Freddy! Oh my!
