Episode description

Welcome to the Dell Technologies podcast! In this episode, we’re going to look at how Dell’s Next-Gen AI PCs, powered by NVIDIA are enabling leading edge Australian robotics technology.

Throughout the eighties and nineties famed science fiction author, Isaac Asimov, and his wife, Janet, wrote a whole series of sci-fi novels for children featuring Norby the mixed up robot. In the first book, Norby is drafted to help young space cadet Jeff Wells pass his Martian Swahili exam.

Fast forward to 2024 and Norby has become a reality, thanks to an Australian company of the same name, drawing on the AI power of Dell Technologies and NVIDIA.

The 2024 version of Norby doesn’t speak Martian Swahili but if space cadet Jeff Wells wanted to learn any one of 40 languages, Norby could help him.

To tell us more about Norby and the roles of Dell and NVIDIA in his development I’m joined by Norby founder and CEO, Adrian Mullan, and Cliff Mullee, ANZ Senior Manager for the Commercial Client Solutions, Dell Technologies.

This episode is hosted by tech journalist Stephen Fenech. For more information, visit dell.com.au/Norby. Special thanks to our sponsor, NVIDIA for sponsoring this podcast.
