press conference here. What they're going to say about the the rate of. Great movements over the next year. What has the market been thinking going into this? Well, the market has been thinking that they're going to be hawkish. What you've seen over the last few weeks has been dollar has
been very, very strong. I think it's like 9 straight weeks for the dollar going higher and you've seen bond yields across the curve two year, 10 year, five year all hitting a decade high, 15 year highs. So the market is expecting for JPAL to go up there today? And basically say we're going to leave rates higher for longer, um, that is the expectation. That is how people are positioned. We will, we will wait to see
actually how that develops. Stocks have been slightly soft on the back of that as well, so stocks have been lower. The only real strong point has been gold. Gold is golden oil really. Both of those have been going higher and it's kind of that similar narrative has moved over into crypto. So our digital gold, Bitcoin has been outperforming our digital, let's say, stocks, which is more like the old coins. And Bitcoin dominance has been going higher. You saw again today Bitcoin
dominance go up higher. Bitcoin Everything is at the year to date. Close. Bitcoin is still about 27 K, whereas ETH is is down about 1% again today. There were some flows on the back of that you saw. You saw him, Vitalic sold to me, but you saw some large buying call options out of the money call options on on Bitcoin. Alex bought some. I mean, he sells like all the time but. Like, it's like, so a lot of these this year. Yeah. And look, you know what that
means? We we're supposed to copy trade Vitalic over here? Well, they left for about 10 years, about five years. So I I don't know if you copied trade with Alex, but it's just one of those headlines. But yeah, he's definitely underperforming here, even versus some old coins. Actually like some popular old coins, it's slightly better. But Bitcoin is leading the charge. Bitcoin actually touched 2777.7 I think yesterday and then kind of retraced from that.
That's seen as like the next resistance. And I think we will probably see some volatility after the Fed today, even if they are kind of boring. But yeah, definitely they if you own Bitcoin that you're not really noticing that everything else is going so good and Bitcoin dominance is going up. It's tough to see an old coin cycle with this level of dominance going high, huh? Alright, we'll see what happens on that front.
I know if you had anything different to add on the on the market side, what's gonna happen with the Fed, but you know, I guess I guess we'll we'll be asking the famous question tomorrow morning. No, wait, it's later, right? I think the market is prepared for no surprises, so. I don't think there's been. Like I said last night, there's been enough in the data for them to say anything different to
what they have already said. Even though you've had lower core inflation, you've had weaker labour market data. But energy prices are a concern. It's also worth mentioning UK inflation came in decently below expectations today, even despite the energy price rises. So there is definitely like. You know there's definitely, uh downwards pressure on inflation here, but I I think we probably need one or two months of the same data for them to change their tune.
So I don't think we're expecting anything, but what I would say is markets are very bearish going into an interest rate at multi decade highs. So I do think if there is a move one way, it feels like there's room to rally, but it depends on what they say. Alright, well I just. Have other things quickly touched upon? There was that first headlines that mount Gox, which could have been a big overhang of Bitcoin to be sold. Looks like it's now could be delayed until 2024.
The distribution from that bankruptcy. That's another reason why Bitcoin outperformed and the SEC came out and said they're gonna bring out more charges against define exchanges. That's a far more ethnocentric thing they're going after there. So two other reasons why we're seeing an outperformance of Bitcoin today.
