Yo-yo yo. What up, what up? Good morning. Good morning GMG. Monday, July 29th, 2020. Look at that another beautiful day to have a beautiful day. I got my coast in the house. Mando Tyler AKA Airplane GCR, how you guys doing today? Doing great, man, doing great. Airplane GCR. Can you hear? Me, I'm great back from Nashville, feeling more bullish than than ever. I even closed my my 8th short so so bullish and everything that that even bullish on on you. So, so we got it, but we're
feeling good. Hold on, did you end up in the money on that E short? Because it seems like you almost got wiped out here. No, I, I closed it as soon as they announced the strategic reserve policy on Saturday. I was at the desktop. I was like, I'm, I'm not going to go to sleep with this, with this potential catalyst on the horizon. So I didn't make it like 30%. I think it was up like 75% at peak. So I didn't get like the the best return.
But and I still like we're going to see outflows this week, but it just may not matter you. Got a little gritty, didn't you? What can I say it happens to the IT happens to the best of us. It's that the life of a of a crypto trader anyway, so that's the show we got. We got a we got a big one ahead. We got a busy show ahead. We're going to get a full Bitcoin national report. Tyler I I saw it how I saw it from the outside. I want to hear it from the inside. I was for you how it happened.
What went down? How was it being in the same room as Trump, you know, talking about this Bitcoin shit? Annual highlights, market report. Mando, you have some work to do today. I mean, 70 K Bitcoin. Yeah, well, almost. Well, no longer. Sorry. We just dump as the show started. But you know, that's that's something you love to see nearly a $200.00 Solana. You love to see it.
The whole narrow thing you guys are about to you guys have to like run me through the shit because that was totally out when that happened. So I have no clue what went down on that front and I'll need a TLDR here. And last but not least, we'll join by Duo CEO Jay Hogan. I mean, John's going to join us. We've talked about doodles over and over and over and over and over again on the show. It's time we bring the man of the hour on the CEO for a little
interview on the show. So anyways, anyways, anyways, I don't, I don't think I have the jingles on me right now. I had to take a quick trip to Germany. Oh, I have them here. With that further ado, I think we should start with Tyler today so we can get the Bitcoin Nashville. TLDR All right, so crypto majors soared overnight into the weekly open, but it does look like we are pulling back now after the market did open.
Bitcoin 68750. This comes after the blockbuster news on Saturday, Senator Cynthia Loomis announced a new Bitcoin strategic reserve policy that would acquire 1,000,000 Bitcoin for the United States in a five year time period. This follows Trump's speech on the ground in Bitcoin Nashville, which was a very pro crypto speech. We'll get into that in a bit. Some breaking news this morning.
Hong Kong is now following suit. They're also looking at Bitcoin strategic reserve, so perhaps the next domino has already fallen. In other news, we saw Compound Finance was hit with a $25 million governance attack where a user granted themselves $25 million after accumulating 682,000 cops. That was a wild one. We saw PayPal stablecoin PYUSD and went live on Margin 5 with additional rewards through. It's available in memes. You kind of covered it. Nero.
Nero saw $1 billion in volume from Saturday to Sunday. After a messy back and forth, multiple tokens launched across Change the Leader this morning at 54,000,000. We saw Ong and Moo Moo, also a big action. That Moo Moo coin just just keeps going up in L2 news we saw abstract their test net went live, allowing devs to test apps ahead of mainnet and then NF cross chains this morning after this crypto pump and it seems like no one raced home from
Nashville to buy any ordinals. Ordinals not looking great here this morning. Dude, these said that motherfuckers talked about meme coins more than they talked about ordinals at BTC Nashville. I thought there was only one. How many chairs do you sit on Bitcoiners? Clearly y'all are cheating on your Herman Miller chair. OK, because you're not buying my bags, which are Bitcoin puppets. You're clearly buying all sorts of vaporware meme coin trash like Solana like I am. Well, that's my bag.
They're definitely not buying that. But Tyler, before we get to the rest of the stuff into the market with Mando, before he has to go, tell me how was the how was the how was it being there? Like I heard mixed reviews from France. I heard some of the friends were ultra bullish on it. They loved it. And I heard another crowd was like, man, it was OK, didn't have to go. So how was the How was he from someone's actually foot on the ground?
Never been to a Bitcoin before. I've been to crypto conferences, never been to a Bitcoin one. I will say like one thing that jumped out is like the the cult aspect. I feel like the Bitcoiners are a stronger cult than than like the NFT crowd or just maybe other broader crypto. I mean, it feels like a very strong group. I'll get into some of the the speeches here in a second. You know, Nashville's a great, it's local, cheap, you know, I think I took like 3 Ubers. Like everything is very
condensed. It was very easy to get around events and into the conference. So that part was nice. I mean, I think, you know, we can go into the Trump speech in detail, but for me, I think that beat expectations. I actually predicted that the the speech would come in under expectations and he wouldn't say much. I think he actually said more than I expected. I think another take away here is crypto has become more political than ever. I think a lot of the we're
basically just pains. I think we lost Tyler Mando. Do you hear him? I I can't hear him. He was cutting out throughout that, but. Yeah, he's gone. He made a good point, then he made a good just to kind of follow up with what he said. I think that's that was the main take away from me even going into the event is just you looked at the top speakers and it was pretty wild that it's all like the main politicians in the US. You have a senator announcing
policy there. You have Trump announcing policy there. It it does just feel like it's it's really a political issue, which I honestly a year ago if someone told me it would be like this is just completely wild. In fact, I remember being on a space where someone said that they said that, you know, crypto will be an issue at the 2024 election. And he basically got laughed off the stage. Everyone was like, there's no way it gets brought up, you know, this isn't a political
issue anymore. No one in the US cares. Suddenly it's a political issue. So I think that's, that's really, really interesting. And I think we should, yeah, we should feel lucky that that it's become such a mainstream thing. I it's interesting to see that that meeting though, Trump is going on stage after Edward Snowden. That's kind of funny, right? Like Edward Snowden, who the US has been trying to prosecute for many years.
So it has, it's going to be weird this I think this meeting of anti establishment and establishment, particularly in the US, because I do think crypto probably has the biggest benefits to the US at the moment. But yeah, I just thought it was that that that was interesting. Yeah, by the way, just remember, we have no Rd. casts with that Tyler, because I don't have one. But I actually agree with you. Tyler's back on, so I'm going to add it. There you go. Tyler's back on.
Do you wanna? Do you wanna mute? Oh, you're still here? Oh, as a listener, let me get you back up on stage. Shit. How do we still get these problems on X? Let me get Tyler. You hear me? Right. Yeah, I can hear you. Yeah, sorry about that. Another reason. No, you're good. It's not your fault, it's just Chicago man. Chicago has worst Wi-Fi in Portugal, you know, it is what it is. They call us your pores. But Germany is doing pretty good right now. I'm in 20,000 person village and
actually I think 9000 village. I'm in 13,000 village next door. But let me tell you, Meadow, the beer over here, that vice beer. Yeah, it's muscle. Actually. Can we? It's muscle. Is yes. Is the audio working now? Hold on, I got to get Tyler on spaces one second. We have like 600 people on YouTube, but let me one second Youtubers or broadcasters on, you know, if yeah, maybe there's a space to come back. I mean, mad we can get to what?
What are you saying, Tommy? Well, I was going to, I was going to say. One second, everyone on Twitter Spaces. If you're on Twitter Spaces, give us a second. We're fixing our issues. I'm back if you want to let me. He's back. OK, you're back. You're you're on stage. You want to unmute all. Right. There you go. Test, Test. Yeah, we're back. We're back. OK, We're back, Mando. I was going to say you had some
big news over the weekend. We should probably come back and take a moment to appreciate your big news. That was the biggest news of the weekend, right? For Rogue finally got in gaze. He finally did it in a shop to literally absolutely no one who's known for Rogue for the last few years. He got engaged to Vanessa. So Congrats for that. You kind of broke the Internet and then you got ratioed by Greg and the process, which I thought was hilarious. And then I got ratioed again.
So like the engagement posts were like 200,000 views and I got ratioed 2X. And then I suppose I got ratioed to ratioed me again. So I don't want algorithm Greg Crack, but thank you. Thank you. It was special. I, I went to Esveda, which is an island that apparently is the third largest magnetic field in the world, which is pretty sick. And I went on a paddle board, mind you, with the ring. My grandfather proposed to my grandmother with 1956 in my pocket.
Don't ask me why. This is my risk tolerance. It's a crypto bro. And so I think the thing, but what's funny is when she got up with the paddle board, she fell, then she got back on, then she got back up again. And as I put her knee up, it proposed. We both fell. But thankfully I managed to get a yes and a ring on before we fell. I got a video, I'll post it. But yeah, it was it was a hard. Time, you know, I mean, I cannot imagine a more stressful way to propose than paddle boarding like.
I, I I should have done it. We had I like. What were you doing? Like that just sounds like you're gonna lose the ring whatever happens. Like oh Oh yeah, I lost the ring because we went paddle boarding. I should have done it on the boat. I feel like being redacted and I did that, and maybe I was a little drunk because I was really stressed out. I have to die. Something proposing is the most terrifying thing I've done my whole life. Yeah, it is scary. Right, right.
You guys have been there before. Am I the only one? Like, it's scary. It is I. Guess it's scary. Yeah, I was so scared. Like in the moments beforehand, I wasn't. I kind of didn't. And then then the moments beforehand, it's scary drunk paddle boarding with, with the ring in my pocket. Like I, I couldn't have done that, man. Like that is the scariest thing is like the like getting the ring in position and like making sure that they don't see and all this sort of stuff.
Like I, I, I don't know what the hell you're doing. I don't know. I don't know what took me, but I did that and it worked. At least it worked everywhere. Everybody's fine. We didn't see phrase. Daddy was filming. I was like Daddy take a photo of us so that he did the whole thing so so we did it. So thank you very much. It was it was fun. It was special time. Now Keith you Benny everybody Hannah can stop texting me every week to tell remind me to get engaged. I did it side of the way get
back to work. It's a lot of work but anyways back to Bitcoin Nashville was the second biggest news of the weekend after my engagement. Of course we're talking about this Tyler Amando was saying that he agrees with you on your point you made. But quick thing for me, the biggest take away apart from the for it's worth someone. I thought the speech speech was kind of OK. He's quite a comedian. The headlines were bangers. The Bitcoin reserve will keep the Bitcoin the big headlines.
And I even told Danny I said we're going to pop like fucking crazy on Monday when Tratfi gets the speeches. For me, the highlight was the Venexeo saying that he owns 30% of his net worth in Bitcoin. It was Cantor committing 3, two or $3 billion to Bitcoin, and it was Cynthia Loomis, Senator Cynthia Loomis talking about a bill. I mean, Tyler, what else? What else did you feel when you were out there? Like how was it being there?
Yeah, I think that was my other surprise was the number of CEOs and companies that were announcing either big personal positions or IT on or Bitcoin on their balance sheets. They would show up between, between speakers and it was just like a new company or a new CEO every time. So like we're not talking about like two or three. I think like we're talking about a dozen or, or perhaps dozens now that are starting to, to come out and, and announce
these, these core holdings. So even if the, the US strategic reserve policy doesn't happen or if it takes years to happen, it seems like the, the corporate buying and and more high net worth individual buying is, is on an uptick and that doesn't, I don't think that's going to slow down. And I think the other the, the Trump from his speech was never sell your Bitcoin. That that was on the headlines
on CNBC this morning. Like when they were talking about the commerce, like that was the tag under it. And I and those are good signals, right? Like for, for folks who, who, who don't know much about the space and just are wondering. It's like those are the things that kind of creeping in the back of of people's minds. The the sailor speech was like one of the Wilder I've ever been to personally, I think handsome. This guy must have done 100 lines of coke before he made this slide.
Like this slide was unbelievable. I've got it. So his bare case for 2045 is $3,000,000 Bitcoin cap. His base case is 13 million Bitcoin and then 280 trillion. So that's a 280X from here basically. And then his bull case is 1000 trillion, which is basically A-1000X from here by 2045. And he basically, you know, he had a slide deck, the whole thing was to a slide deck. He was talking about basically
like 55% annualized returns. And then he, he laid out, you know, how it, Bitcoin is a more, it's just a stronger currency or investable asset than just about everything else in the world. And the, and the time and his durability and then he basically laid out investing, investing strategies for, for people, for businesses, larger corporate, larger corporations as well as nation States and then the US. And he did it with like like a, a normie approach, a somewhat bullish approach.
And then like the chat approach. And I mean, he gave actionable steps. And I will say, like when you listen to it live, it's like, shit, I need more Bitcoin. So the propaganda works. I'm wearing the propaganda hat like this is from the. I. I missed the Hodel hat. I really wanted the Hodel hat. I settled for for this one. I'm sure we can get you one, but I'm sure we could have raised to get you a Hodel hat. I mean, Tyler, do you think that big coins going to hit $49
million per coin in 2045? I mean, I'm under on on 49 million. I think there's probably some equity in the in the under. But I was thinking, I mean, if you think there's any small chance that even his bear case is right, like you have to allocate some to this like. I mean, I'm all for it. I mean, bad though. What do you, what do you think of sailors predictions here?
I mean, they're pretty big. Look, when when the biggest holder of of Bitcoin tells you it's going to whatever it were like 3 million in a in a base case and 45 million in the bull case, I think he's got bags to talk about. But I, I do think that I do think this was a bit of a game changer Weekender. I think there was obviously some positioning into it and that's been revealed in some of the
futures data. But I couldn't think of a more bullish weekend worth of headlines, if I'm honest, Super Bowl. And it wasn't just it wasn't just that as well. Also, you've seen Kamala move to potentially softening her policy with respect to crypto. There's a lot of headlines coming out of the of the Financial Times and also CNBC around that. So it feels as though you could have also the Democrats moving to to try and be pro Bitcoin, probably to kind of see off how
pro, pro crypto Trump has been. So in general, everyone in politics is behind Bitcoin. That's super, super bullish for me. If they get a Bitcoin strategic reserve, that is, That is truly wild in terms of the numbers that you can start talking about. And it's not just them. You know, I said. I put this back yesterday. Imagine Germany right now. Oh, I am here. I I I had a chat with some
Germans earlier. Because you have, you have suddenly Trump is going to is going to FOMO all of the G20 into buying into buying Bitcoin And they, they had a nice little bag that they could have sat on. But if if the Fed or or if it becomes government policy to buy Bitcoin that this has become a lot of countries government policy I think to buy Bitcoin as well. And it was a free bag because they literally took it over. It's a free bag.
They took it from a company called Movie 2 Ki Wish I could take over someone's 42,000 Bitcoin. It's a this is a thing for me. I think it also, it doesn't just change the game for the US, it changes the game globally and for corporates as well, you know, all this sort of stuff. If. If the, if the. US has a global big has a Bitcoin reserve.
Suddenly a bunch of Fortune 500 companies and some of the biggest companies around the world will probably think, well, if it's good enough for the Fed and the US government, then why not me? You've already seen that with a bunch of pension funds, but I think it can go very broad. Yeah, that is that is definitely a huge take away. One other thing Tyler, we got to hear the story of airplane GCR. Dude, you were killing me. I I have to say you made my
weekend on Saturday night. I had a few drinks and I was I was I was waiting for Trump to come on. He was delayed on top of that and you were tweeting like a madman saying ELO's jets is directly we are live. And then he goes need to start descending. And then Tyler goes breaking news. Elon Musk's jet is descending and I was here. I was crying, laughing. I swear to God. I mean, tell us more about this, about your, your, your roller
coaster of emotions there. Yeah, so this is kind of a long story, but so I was actually on the the no side of this bet on on. I even went on my show and touted the play. People would bet Elon up to like 30% because his jet was in Memphis on Monday. And I was like that that's nonsense. And I don't think this guy's really going to speak. But then Thursday I'm, I'm going home from the liquidium event. I'm going to another event in Nashville, boots on the ground.
And my Uber driver says that she had picked someone up yesterday that says Elon is the surprise speaker at, at this conference. And I grilled her. I, I asked her the question like five or seven different ways. Like who was this person? Do they look like they were official? Like, Are you sure that they said Elon? And like at the end of this 30 minute ride convinced. So we we, we, we switched destinations. We went back to the hotel. I got the Ledger out.
I sold my no shares at 93 cents. I got in around 80. So I made a little 20% flipped yes at 7 cents. 700 bucks to win 10K. What was the bet? And then started tracking his jet. So I found the Instagram account where you could find kind of more static information Friday he I'm like, OK, that's fine as long as he leaves by Saturday morning.
So it was still pretty low odds it was going to be him Friday night, wake up first thing Saturday, check my phone first thing I check his Instagram, his jet page. He's taken off. So he left Paris in enough time to make it so I'm like, we are we are alive here for Elon. Start tracking the plane. It gets in the US as I'm headed, you know, starting to head to the airport myself. And then he lands in New York. God. And Tyler's gone again, dude, Man, how funny is that, bro?
Were you? Were you tracking Tyler? He was killing me bro. I. I was tracking it but I was a little bit confused, like who was the special guest? There was no special guest. I love you. OK all. Right. We're, we're, we're back. We're back. There was no special guest though, right? There was no special guest. Like everybody and their mothers. Mothers were tweeted about special guest. There's no special guest. So that's what made it more
interesting. So he lived in New York and then like I, I kind of stopped checking for an hour or so and then I got pinged a butt like, oh, he's taken back off and I see the flight path that is looking direct to Nashville. And then at the same time, apparently they had, they had made this, they had announced somewhere at Bitcoin Nashville
that there was a guest speaker. So now there's this like, you know, full like people are, are really starting to bet this thing up. It's up to like 15 or 20% on Polymarket. I'm I'm following the jet tracker live. I've got like a new updated link from from a buddy and then like he's getting a little too close to Nashville like he's going to have to turn and start descending and then they finally start descending pin timeline. You know, we see the bet jump up to to 30 cents or something.
Oh, I didn't mention when I'm when I flipped, yes, there was like $25,000 in action on this bet. If I close there was 1.6 million. So this this is not being an insanely bad line. Wait, did you 'cause that? Like I, I can't confirm or deny that he starts descending, but then Long story short, he goes like, oh God, we're we're dead. I think we're totally dead. But then Eleanor Tourette sweets out. She's got he was never on the jet anyways. He was secretly in Nashville the whole time.
The bet spikes back up to 30 cents one more time and like, we were alive again. But then like, basically the event plays out. No special speaker even came out. So I I've got a lot of questions. Like, I really wonder, like, were they in talks with him? And like, he was like actually had like a chance to maybe come and then like changed his mind because there was there was Elon rumors the entire week. Yeah. And then it feels like he was just trolling us with even with his jetpack.
I feel like he sent his jet above that was fuck with y'all. I swear to God that some shit Elon would do. Like I he's rich enough. What's 10 grand to him? What's 20 grand to him? You know, so actually actually New York, Paris is like 50K drive, right? So what what's 50 grand to him? You know, so that that's pretty funny ANYWAYS, you honestly, you honestly killed me, dude. Airplane GCR, that's what we're calling you now. I thought that was the funniest thing this weekend.
Mando just quickly before before we get to Tyler and then we have Julia Hogan in the in the in the studio already. Mando, how are you feeling about this market right now? I mean market's hot. We're so back. You've been saying you've been feeling bullish all around, up and down 55 K been bullish. I mean, how are you feeling today? We're looking good. Yeah, we're looking good. Obviously. I think, you know, I'm less bullish now than I was at like
55 K like we've had. We've had a very aggressive move back. So it's, it's more difficult, I think to like FOMO into a buy here. This is the prime example. Like if you're, if you're a trend follower or if you're a chartist, like you're probably telling you to buy it here. And for me, I feel like you have to feel a little bit like, well, you know, we've really ripped back. I do think it surprised me that we haven't gone higher on the back of these like crazy bullish
headlines. But I, you know, I think we can, we can hit an all time high in potentially in Bitcoin and Solana, you know, in the next couple of weeks. In my opinion, I think, I think that's not out of the question. We're looking really good. What? What's up with all this? Like what's up with all this BIM cornery on the timeline? I mean, you, you've been, you've been buying these new coins or what? What's going on? No Obi's been fo moving into a lot of them. Right.
Obi is all over the place bro. Motherfucker's tweeting like 17,000,000 times a day. He's definitely gotten big into it. Yeah. Look, I think it's been difficult. I think a lot of people mid, I feel like we're now like mid cycle, mid to late cycle and I think I actually think you can lose a lot of money from here. But I put that on the timeline of the weekend, you know, stole went from 1:20 to 190 just now. How many people do you think would like would have just done
better if they just done that? I do think it's a dangerous bit of the cycle. That's basically what I think because I think I don't see I don't see a clear soul beta play and I think it's very PvP each day, even like up until the first bit of the cycle, I felt like whiff was such an obvious
Solana beta play. And now I feel like there's so many means that it's more you can be both on them for like a week or two, but then there's just so much temptation if you're a big holder of any mean to just to just plow it into a new coin or a hot thing each week that it's just really dangerous. So I think it's a dangerous bit of the market where people and you saw that, you know, it was crazy for me to log on to CT the day because, you know, I slept
over the Trump speech. So I woke up the next day, I saw all the Trump headlines and the thing that people were fighting about was this Nero coin. And I was like, wow, like that is wild that that is the main thing that people are talking about rather than what Trump was saying or how bullish the sentiment was for Bitcoin national. So I would just, I would just be wary.
I think, I think we're going a lot higher, but I think people, a lot of people will not make money or although that they'll they're going to try and overcomplicate the trade. Yeah, that's definitely what it looks like. I mean, just right before I'm going to bring Julian up now, but Tyler, did you get involved into this whole into this whole craziness of Nero on the timeline or were you too busy in Nashville? I I just, I missed the first
run. It was already like 20 to 30 million when I really saw it. And I thought chasing those spots is just so risky. And it ran to like 90 million and then. No. Did I lose Tyler again? No way. Did I lose Tyler again? What's going on with the Wi-Fi Nash in in Chicago? We lost you again we lost Tyler again This is crazy hey hold up. I don't know what's going on with the Wi-Fi in Chicago, but I lost Tyler again.
Y'all, you just come on the on the stream you're going to get you're going to get me and Julian chatting because I oh there he is there he is there he's back Tyler, you got it. We got a call. We got a call fucking. We got over. There, Yeah, we got. We got to get the one off that fixed. Don't this, this never happens. What the Hell's going on? This never. Happened. Yeah, well, we missed Nero, Long story short.
And then the Yoji dog owner came out and said we don't endorse this week, we only endorsed Doge. And then like people started fighting over which is the real one. Caused like tons of turmoil and tons of volume. There's they're on ETH now they're on Solana now. I, I haven't been tracking closely to know the real one. I feel like whenever there's multiple coins tied to an idea or a ticker, it's bad. It's not bad for all of them. So I, I, I stayed, stayed away.
I'm March 6th. Yeah, I I'm safe. I know Ovi. I think Ovi bought both. So he's just he's like, fuck it, I just wait. I I got no, I got my wife back. I'll go my mock bag. I got my Pepe bag. I got a Solana bag. I'm done this cycle. I'm just chilling at at work. But anyways, listen, we'll keep we'll keep some of the big topics for tomorrow. We've got we've got Julian Hogan in the house, Julian doodle CEO. How you doing baby? What's up, Baroque? How you doing, man?
Well, actually, I think Congrats are in order. Yeah, Engagement, man. Good for you, bro. I'm happy for you. Thank you. It was about time. It was about time 1 less thing to worry about, you know, I it was, it was starting to put a lot of pressure on my back, you know? Yeah, but but good. Good thing the bags are up now. I saw the the ring look nice. Dude, you did good. You did good. Thank you, thank you. I think we did a good job, you know.
Ironically, she was asking Danny's girlfriend on the same day. When do you think it's going to happen? Like I've been waiting for four years. I swear to God, Annabelle tells me this. I'm like, oh shit. So you know, so you know, I think, I think we ended up doing good. But Julie, listen, every day I come on this show, Tyler's got his top 100 and every day doodles are in the conversation. You know, you guys doodles, TV
doodles this, doodles that. I mean, you guys, I mean, Tyler keeps talking about y'all about how you guys are cooking. Let's get the CEO back on the show. You've been on a few times with Julia. You've been cooking lately. I mean, how you been? I'm good, man, I'm good. It's it's a big summer, really big summer. I feel like everything we've been working towards the last couple years is leading to this moment and it's kind of it's a surreal feeling, I'm not going
to lie. Like it's it's here, you know, like the at bat, like we're we're really ready to take this big swing and I don't know, you got a little little nervous, little excited, little anxious, little everything. But it's it's fun. I feel alive. I'll tell you that much. I love that. I love that. Well, listen, Joe, we got a couple questions for you. I'm gonna let, I'm gonna let Tyler take over here because we definitely have some stuff to
ask you. We love the stuff you've been at. We've been at it, Mandel. Tyler, I talk about it a lot. So I think it's really cool. Tyler, I'll give it to you. Yeah, Julian, I feel like the last time we were chatting it was all Doodlesville and the Doodles verse. And now like the the big news from the last weekend, I saw some news broke this morning as well. But Doodles TV. So you know, I read about it. We talked about it on the show. I'd love just to hear from from you first hand.
Like what is it? Why did you decide to launch this product? Yeah, man, it's it's been the whole idea around doodles has always been to create a new paradigm for bringing IP to market and a paradigm that does not solely rely on the traditional means of distribution and monetization and engagement, because it's really hard to develop IP that way.
If you think of just anecdotally, the things that perform on television, the things that perform at the box office, like a lot of it is adaptations, remakes, sequels, those are the only things that really do well. And it's because the studios are prioritizing them in a way that really kind of leans into where the network effects of our world are, right? Like people are on social media right now. To get people off of social
media, it takes a lot. So to invest millions of dollars in a new franchise and then to try and market that new franchise to people that are spending most of their time on social to get them off their couch and into a movie theater or to get them to tune into a streaming service. It's really hard to do that. So the studios and all of these other platforms are basically re upping their investment in
adaptations, right? Like a New Super Mario movie, a Barbie movie, you know, a Ghostbusters remake, a new Garfield movie, more Marvel movies, more Adventure Time shows, etcetera. And what it's done is kind of squeezed out the mid level creator, the artist that used to make a living getting their shows made on Cartoon Network. Like it's just getting harder and harder to launch new IP. So we believe PFP projects are a really unique way to bring new IP to market and create sustainable growth
opportunities. But it's not launch PFP, put everything on YouTube, put everything on Spotify. Like launch the PFP project, start building the community, start building a culture, start building a vibe. And then when you're ready to, and in our case, entertainment, when you're ready to bring that IP to the world, don't just give YouTube and Spotify all your content for free. Own the moment with your community.
If people want to be part of that moment, make them pay for it. And then once you've had that moment with your community, bring it to the world. Still utilize YouTube because there is built in network effects there. Still utilize Spotify because that's where the majority of content consumption happens, but there are other ways to really bring a core fan base together in an environment that you own. Think of like stand up comedy right now. They're doing it in a really
incredible way. Like I, I'm sure you guys are familiar with Andrew Schultz, but he actually bought his special back from Netflix and instead of putting, yeah, so he he was supposed to go live on Netflix, he bought the special back, put it on Moment House and sold early access viewing to the special on a direct to consumer platform and made more money and recouped all that money that he was making from Netflix,
licensing it exclusively. And in this scenario, he doesn't sacrifice the direct relationship with his audience and he makes more money than he would have made otherwise. And he still gets to put the content on YouTube later on down the road. For us, we think that's a really interesting format, especially when you tie it to digital collectibles that can kind of commemorate the moment. So all of our album art isn't pen, it's not like paper.
It's actually NF TS. All of the posters, they're NF TS. And we have this collecting platform in the studio, which Doodles TV is ultimately a feature of, where not only do you get to be first to watch the content, you get to literally be in the know before anybody else. And by the way, like being first is valuable in our society, right? Like knowing what other people don't, being first to things, that's social currency. People really care a lot about that.
People are willing to pay for that, even though our original collection holders aren't going to have to. But social currency is what we all compete for every single day. The only thing that we thought would drive people truly into our platform and into the studio platform that we're building is content that people really cared about. Creators have that, doodles now have that. So we think we're building a new platform for IP development, the creator economy, it's all built
on chain. It brings people into the rest of our collecting loop. And it ultimately creates an opportunity for us to control our own destiny before we bring it to the wide distribution platforms that pretty much control all the time and attention of our of our society. So that's, that's kind of the background for it. And there's, there's obviously a lot more and talk about it all day, but that's the high level. Yeah, man, it's an incredible
idea. I am curious to me technically, you know, you mentioned the ability, like some of the types of content that will be created. I like that the album covers, the singles. Like will there be the ability to to collect directly through Doodles TV? Like what will the collecting experience like, look like as a part of this product? Yeah, yeah.
So imagine like so tomorrow we're actually launching kind of a season pass for Doodles TV. Think of it like, you know, if you're going to buy tickets to Coachella, you can buy the three day pass or you can ultimately buy individual single day passes depending on if you like one lineup better than the others. But tomorrow we're launching something called the Super Pass.
We're doing, we're doing the Mint in partnership with Coinbase. And what the Super Pass is going to get you is ultimately access to every single Doodles TV release. So that's all three music videos and records and it's early access to our film Dollsville and the Doodleburst. And each drop is coming with its own kind of varying rarity artwork. So instead of like look at it like collecting album art.
And if you look at like the old Kanye album covers and Nirvana album covers, like people that still have those CDs in mint condition, they like, they love that they they love that they were able to collect those moments. We look at this as kind of the same thing. So when you actually have this pass, you're gonna be able to collect the album art from each record and you're gonna be able to collect different levels of movie posters for the actual
film itself. So they do come with kind of these commemorative NF TS. And think about it like people are going to see Deadpool and Wolverine this weekend in theaters in America. I don't know if this is global, but in theaters in America, they have this like custom, you know, kind of limited edition collectible popcorn bucket that's like Wolverine and Deadpool style.
It's it's similar. People want their trinkets, they want their stuff and they and they're, they're going to be able to collect and display them within their Doodles Studio accounts. Yeah, I mean it. I love it. I saw the the news this morning, the the doodles records track list. We we got some of the early ones right. So maybe you want to so we got not in the store by Coy Larae, Can't Hold me down by Lil tune, shy, Lil Yachty and then the Pharrell song. They're coming out in the next
couple of months. So are these tied to the the film or are these standalone? Yeah. So I'll give you a little little background. So basically this dates all the way back to when we first started working with Pharrell. And we were like, Hey, we want to make music. We want to make hits. Like let's let's do some music, let's animate the videos, let's do the whole thing. And, and he's like, and we're like, you know, the story and the the film and TV content, all
that stuff will come later. And he's like, look, if you're asking me to do what I did for Despicable Me, I don't think I'm going to be able to do that. Like when I did that, I knew who was voicing Grew, which was Steve Carroll. I knew what that character was. I knew the setting. Like I knew everything about that story that I was ultimately creating music for. You guys aren't ready for that. And we were like, well, damn. OK. So so we got a little bit of work to do.
So we so we got to it. And that is kind of when all the content development started. We acquired Golden Wolf. We brought Jesse Moynihan on board, who was one of the writers. On Adventure Time and also the art director for Midnight Gospel. So we started building the world out. We started building out the rules. Then we got to the the script and, you know, the actual, you know, dialogue between the characters.
We started, you know, kind of building Haps character and Melo's character and really put like a story behind, you know, behind these behind these characters. And we got to a point where we got a full animatic together and we, we walked through it and Pharrell kind of like on the fly was starting to come up with like beats and melodies that really made sense for the particular scenes in the film.
And because the film is around 20 minutes, we, you know, we, we thought there could be like 3, maybe 4 original songs tied to it. So she basically put the beats together, was completely hyped with the melody and everything that, you know, kind of came to life that the the music actually represents different parts of the film.
And then we started placing artists that we thought would bring that vibe to each track because we wanted to release the tracks as their own independent things that could that are completely tied to the world, but also be distributed separately for for people that, you know, don't even know what's going on in the larger universe. So that's when we started having conversations with artists. You know, they were all blown away by the creative pretty much off the bat.
And, you know, some of these artists were, you know, kind of grew up on cartoons. So this really, you know, this really hit home for them. And then the songs just kind of started coming together. We got in the studio, put the records together. You know, every single step of the pipeline, the music got better, the animated music videos got better. And the, the videos themselves are going to be released prior to the film and the music is also going to be featured in the film.
And you're going to see how the film inspires the music videos and how the music inspires the film. It's going to be a pretty kind of like 360° immersive audio visual experience. Like that's why we're not we're this isn't a movie, this isn't an album. This is all one crazy art, animation, music, visual experience that rolls out over the course of several months. Yeah, It seems just like one of the more incredible creative products experiences that we've seen in all web three give you
the credit for that. I'm curious. So working with Pharrell seems like kind of a dream. I don't know. I feel like it would be a dream for me. I'm curious if any other like if you had any other like surprises or big lessons takeaways for from from working with him or else like any other like roles or impacts he's had on the project?
Doodles TV was a big like he, he had a, like, he kind of pushed us to, to go there and we were, we were just going to put the music out on Spotify and, and YouTube and we were just, you know, we were going to do it the traditional way because we, what have we been selling people around Doodles this whole time? Like mass adoption, mass adoption, you know, bring people in. And those are the platforms where people are right now. Meet the consumer where they
are. And you know, he kind of showed us or convinced us that they're not mutually exclusive. You can own the moment and make sure your community feels like they're part of something and charge people to be part of that moment because moments like are fleeting right now. Like what happened a week ago feels like it happened a year
ago. So just the, the, the way we're wired as a culture is changing and doodles TV as a way to monetize content further than just collecting ad revenue on YouTube or getting brand partnership deals or selling merchandise was, you know, I guess the point that I'm trying to make is that his business mind is just as powerful as his creative mind. And you know, I like to kind of just point out there's three movies he's doing this year.
One is Despicable Me 4, which is about to hit $700 million at the global box office. The other is. Wild. Yeah. The other is his biopic that he's doing with Lego. And then the third is is US. And, and it's, it's pretty remarkable that he's so leaned in to the art and what we're doing from a technology perspective. It's been a dream come true getting a partner with all these
artists. It's, it's been, I've worked with a lot of, you know, celebs and artists in my career, but making the art, making the music is, is a new one for me. And it's, it's pretty, it's been, it's been remarkable. Dude you're fucking crushing it even even I I open my timer. Even Beanie is Boo posting doodles 3 minutes ago. Look at that Tyler, you got this is rapper on board done right? Very rare, very rare. I mean, you guys are cooking.
Let me ask you something. I mean, tied to this because we talked about being last week because he was buying a bunch of doodles on the show. So we were talking. So what does what does all this mean for the doodles NFT itself? Because you mentioned that right? You said the NFT that's how it started. You guys told the NFTS. We've talked about this at length in the past, like, So how does all this, you know, link
back to like how it all started? Yeah, Look like the the technology is ultimately going to be where people actually see the value accrue to the different collections with the original collection being the grail of our ecosystem. And I personally don't think it's quite as simple as like Rev share on products like that can change at any point.
But if you build and in if you build a gamified entertainment experience where people get rewarded for their participation in your brand, that we believe is sustainable and we believe it can scale. So what does that mean right now? Think about the way like you're a everybody's a fan of something.
All three of us are a fan of something, whether it's a sports franchise, whether it's a musician, whether it's a film franchise, whatever it is, the experience you have is purely a passive, consumer focused experience. You go to the movies, you go to the games, you buy the merch, you do all of the things you do by being a fan. That company, that franchise, that IP owner has no clue who you are. They don't know all the different touch points that you're engaging in.
And because of that, they don't actually have a way for rewarding your loyalty. And because of that, that we think that there's a broken, or maybe it's not broken, maybe it's just the status quo, but there's a major opportunity to bring the communities of these IPS and the IP owner itself closer together. And if we do our job right, the two things kind of become one in the same.
So if you buy our merch, if you share our content via our tools that we're building in the studio, if you show up at our events, if you buy our NFTS, if you trade our NFTS, whatever it is, you should be able to earn things like points. And those points should be able to be redeemed for things that you actually care about. And what you hold in your wallet should be amplifiers on those points. So what we are building ultimately is an ecosystem where
we track all of your engagement. And we don't track it so we can serve you ads. We track it so we can serve you rewards. That's the goal. So we started with the NFTS, we went down into media. The platform is what's been being built in the background and all of that engagement that people are creating around the Doodles brand. We feel like we've rewarded engagement through air drops through, you know, like trait based redeemable merch claims through free tickets.
Like our event at the Toronto International Film Festival is a holder exclusive. The only way you can get in is if you have an original collection. And by the way, like there's gonna be mad celebrities walking the red carpet. It's a huge this. Is a big deal, Toronto Huge, huge Film Festival, right?
Huge Film Festival. So we believe that we've delivered, although it's kind of like one off analog, like there's no real structure to it. What we are built building into our software is structure to the rewards ecosystem. And there's going to be more that gets announced on that. But I think there's two ways to like to kind of close the loop
on that question. One, the bigger the brand gets globally, the more people care about doodles, the more people are going to know that that original collection is where it
all came from. And the people that own that original collection are the ones that get the most likes on Instagram. They're the ones that get the most engagement on Twitter. Like that's a social club that you're a part of that if you're a major fan and you want in more like, I mean, it's kind of natural what happens from there. And then the second part of it is we will actually be rewarding participation in a very forecastable way for people that
are engaged in the ecosystem. So that that is really it for us. Like we're I don't know if you also saw but in the trailer and they don't know everything yet. The a lot of the people that hold NFTS, like the actual characters are in the film. So and like we built, yeah, we built some of the personalities in the film and what they do in the film around kind of how they engage on Twitter. Like what? Like who does that?
You know, like Pixar movies aren't like taking their hardcore community members and putting them in films with like their personality written into the script. Like that's that. That is what we believe makes a special. That's what we believe makes like. I like to say this line doodles isn't ATV show. It isn't a movie franchise.
It's a community, it's culture. It's started on the Internet and it's always on looking at us through a narrow lens of like doodles is just movies or doodles is just TV or doodles is just music is missing. Like what Internet native IP and on chain IP actually is. So long winded answer, but I think you I, I think you get what I was going for. There No, it's it's a good answer. We did we did mention on the show that you were using your holders. You know, PFPS in that in that
Tyler, I'm gonna kick it to you. I think you got you got a last question for for Julian here. Yeah, just a quick comment. I, I think at least for me personally, I think everything that you're doing with media is creating demand for, for the NFTS. So if people ask that question, I mean, I can help answer it because I, I think it's working actively. We're almost out of time. You guys have been cooking non-stop this summer. Any other surprises? Like what what's coming up next
summer's not, not over yet. So anything we got six weeks. We got our bridge barring any our bridge from flow to base hitting later today, barring any any tech complications. So we'll have another tweet announcement going out later in the day. We got our super pass minting tomorrow with Coinbase. And then later this week, we have a pretty big brand partnership announcement. And then I don't know if you saw the leak last week, but we're doing a little thing with Rubik's Cube.
So we have a few major brand partnerships tied to the release of this and we're making some some pretty fun stuff. But yeah, I mean, there's basically going to be like one or two major announcements or, or major releases every week from now until probably the end of October. And then there's more stuff after that.
But like, like, I guess The thing is, is like we've been quiet and building for the last couple years and I don't think we've been that quiet compared to most projects, but we've been quieter than what is about to unfold. Like the new normal is just going to be doodles all over the timeline. So I'm excited for the community to have their like moment. Finally. We've taken a lot of fun and and we're ready for the spotlight again. Doodles are loud.
Doodles may have been quiet. Now doodles are loud. Like you, you're, you're dropping bombshell news on a near weekly basis. So you you love to see it. Well, doing this is fantastic. Thanks for coming on. Hopefully we'll be on again, you know, in another month, in the next couple bombshells are out in the head of Toronto. Yeah, let's do it. It broke. I mean, come on, bro, it's in Canada. You got to come to the premiere. It's going to be. Safe dude, I'm going to be create blockchain week.
Oh yeah, yeah, we that was tough planning for that for. That I know I know I I if I was home, I would have come for sure. It's something I really love. I think it's super cool. Listen, you know, I'm a fan. I'm a friend of yours and and I think what you're doing is really fucking cool. So keep going fuck the fun and you know, keep keep making us proud on the NFT side because it's good to have you know, multiple projects now hammering
out it's you guys, it's pudgy. We're seeing the apes rumble again. Azuki's having their anime chain coming up soon. Like it we're feeling, you know, we're starting to feel it. And as you know, so, so it's good. Congrats, Julian, and thank you for coming. Yeah, thank you, guys. Take it easy, man. You know, always big fans over here, so appreciate the time. Have a good one, brother. Thank you. Hell yeah. Well, Tyler, that was that was a great guest.
I'm glad we finally managed to get Julian on the show to see this. So let's see what they've got coming up. Tyler, tomorrow you're on hosting duty with Mando. I'm going to be I'm going to be in the air fly back from from Germany here. I'm going to go and have a little talk with the German government and let them know that they fumble $600 million, you know, and that and that's about that.
So anyways, Tyler have a good show tomorrow for the rest of the I'll see you Wednesday same time, same place for another episode of formal hour on rock radio. Let's.
