Episode description

The Mona Lisa was once a very ordinary painting, but one man made it the most famous one in the world. In 1911, a man with an inside connection stole the Mona Lisa from the Louvre by simply walking in and taking it. At the time, the Mona Lisa was regarded as a fairly insignificant minor work by the legendary artist, Leonardo DaVinci. However, all of that would change with the ensuing investigation, and the global attention that the theft would receive. After that, the Mona Lisa became the most famous painting of all time. On this episode of Deep Cuts, we explore how a painting can go from minor work to celebrated masterpiece based on the actions of one art framer. 01010100 01101000 01100101 00100000 01001101 01111001 01110011 01110100 01100101 01110010 01111001 00100000 01010100 01110010 01100101 01100101 01101000 01101111 01110101 01110011 01100101 00101110  Learn more about your ad choices.
