By listener request, I am diving back into the world of the West Memphis Three. On May 5, 1993, three eight-year-old boys, Steve Branch, Michael Moore and Christopher Byers went missing. The recovery of their remains from a muddy swamp was captured the following day by cameras from a documentary film crew. What followed was a nightmare for their families, as HBO helped lead the charge to exonerate the three men convicted of the crime. This week we continue to look at the life of Damien Echols in the months leading up to the murder, his stays in mental health clinics, brushes with the law, and more.
