In 1936, a daring theft takes place at Carnegie Hall. A valuable Stradivarius violin is stolen from the dressing room of Polish virtuoso Bronislaw Huberman while he is on stage. The whereabouts of the Stradivarius remain a mystery for 50 years, until one day another musician, Julian Altman, lies dying in a Connecticut hospital. In his final days, he tells his wife the secret of the violin he has been playing for most of his career. It’s a story so incredible it can only be true.
