In 2020, former NYPD detective, Raymond Wood, died…but he had a secret he was determined not to take to the grave. As an undercover agent whose duty it was to infiltrate Black civil rights groups in the mid-1960s, Ray was no stranger to danger or controversy. However, in a letter written to his cousin, he revealed the true extent of his undercover work. Ray claimed to have been part of a conspiracy involving the NYPD and FBI to bring down one of America’s leading activists: the assassination of Malcolm X.
