From 1973 to 1989 a series of mysterious deaths haunted rural North Carolina. Four men were hospitalized with severe nausea and respiratory problems leaving doctors baffled. Aside from their deadly symptoms, there was just one thing that each man had in common: a woman called Blanche Taylor Moore. Blanche found herself at the center of gossip and rumor - who was she really? A widow dogged by tragedy? Or the cause of her lovers' strange sickness? A surprising deathbed confession would eventually solve the case and put the rumors to an end once and for all.
