Here are a couple of pictures from Litchfield, Illinois, today’s Far-Flung Forecast. Pictured is the Ariston Cafe, in business for 100 years. It was started by Pete Adam, whose Son, Nick, and Wife Demi ran the business until a couple of years ago. It may be the oldest continuously operating restaurant on all of 66 and is an Illinois and American treasure. The Route 66 sign is painted on the pavement outside the restaurant.
