Episode description

The night that a jazz legend opened for the Dead in San Francisco

Many great musicians have opened for The Grateful Dead but very few have had a greater impact on the band and their audience than Miles Davis.    Jim Marty and Larry Mishkin talk about the magical night in 1970 when Miles Davis converted a bunch of "spaced out hippies" into jazz lovers and influenced the musical direction on the Dead.
