DC #937: Daytime Legend Michele Val Jean on Primetime "Ambitions"

On the latest Daytime Confidential podcast Luke Kerr is joined by Ambitions creator and head writer Jamey Giddens and daytime writing legend Michele Val Jean, who is a Consulting Producer at Ambitions. 

During the visit the two share how it feels to already be at Ambitions' ninth episode "Giving Up." 

Michele talks about juggling writing for The Bold and the Beautiful and Ambitions at the same time. As one of the few African American writers in daytime, Val Jean shares what it was like to be in an all-black writers room at Ambitions. 

For years Jamey revered Michele and Susan Dansby as African American writers in daytime. Find out what it's like to now by their boss in the Ambitions writers room.

Michele loves to write really damaged men.  She shares how much she enjoys writing for Ambitions' Damian Collins (Alexander Mulzac). She also reflects on writing Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom) at General Hospital and weighs in on Ryan's latest storyline. 

The episode wraps with Jamey and Michele teasing what's to come in "Giving Up" and the rest of the season.
