Transcript

And here we go with the min Minnesota Goodbye. I'll tell you this, we're a little light on emails, so we got enough, but always encourage you. Basically emails or the heart of the show, the Minnesota Goodbye, And it's always kind of that almost makes it your show because you throw out a topic and then we talk about whatever it is you want to talk about, whether it's a question or situation or an observation or whatever it is.

Let us know. We're always interested in. I mean, that's what we that's honestly, That's what I like most about The Minnesota Goodbye is because the ideas aren't always our ideas. They're just really cool things that you bring up. Yea. So all right, David, Jenny, I'm trying to think of something creative by both my dad and my best friend for their birthdays that are coming up. So dad will be sixty, my best friend will be twenty eight. I am wondering what are some of the memorable gifts you have

given gifts? Okay, what are some of the most memorable gifts you have received or experiences? Do you know of any extent Vent's experiences in the Twin Cities coming up at the end of October. I think it'd be fun to do something versus give each of the physical gift, but I'm not sure what for my best friend. I was thinking something along the lines of upstairs Circus, but she already has done that for a bachelorette party. What's upstairs circus?

It's I think it involves like wine and some kind of art of sorts, but I forget. It's kind of a wine and paint but I think it's a little bit more than that. I forget what it is. It's in the North Loop. Okay, I'm gonna throw out you know you gave me the boy wasn't gonna say this, but you threw at the wine and paint idea. My wife has a store. It's called Born and Brush, and I'm not here to plug it, but check into it because people do

love their birthday parties there. You bring out your girlfriends, and you bring out your friends and your mom and your sister or whatever, and you basically make a barn furniture like an old It looks like an old barn door, barn wall. They'll say welcome to Jenny's cabin, or it's wine thirty or something like that. There's you know, and I'm not supposed to recommend this, but but it is. It is something that's kind of cool for the dad. I would say, for Father's Day many years ago, Susan got

me a flight experience. In other words, I got to go up in an airplane and it was an introductory flight lesson. And you could give Dad an introductory flight lesson, or if he has no interest in learning to fly, give dad a helicopter ride or an airplane ride around the Twin Cities. People love it. You can get him from Thunderbird Aviation. Just look online for Thunderbird Aviation and they can take you up at night. They can take you up over your house, they can fly you up to your cabin,

they can fly do whatever you want. And you can get you know, like a anywhere from like a thirty to a forty five minute ride for probably a one hundred bucks. Yeah, so that's pretty cool too. I like that. I would say for dad, maybe do a Vikings game if he's or a wild get tickets for an upcoming wild game or something like that. If he likes sports, or another good thing is maybe getting a state park

pass. Falin actually got all of us on the Morning Show that one year, and I loved that because Andrew and I like to hike, and so we used it at a bunch of places on the North Shore of the year that we had that. I'm not great at picking out presents for Dad's because my dad is very hard to buy for. He doesn't have hobbies. He really just sits at home and watches TV and then works. Like it's very hard to buy things for him. So experience wise, I don't know.

One thing though my dad does like is he does actually like to go see a musical every once in a while. So we got tickets to go see Anastasia with him, my sisters and I a couple of years ago for Christmas. So maybe if he's in a theater, you could do something like that. And then I say it would say for your friend. Another option is maybe take her to a winery. Like I was pronounced wrong. Is it Tram Tram Vineyards out past Victoria. That's a BEAUTIFU. I've never been to

the Saint Kroi Vineyards. I think there's like there's just a bunch of fun spots around there where it's more of your experience. I don't know how expensive it is to like pay for you and your friend for the day, Like that might get a little bit pricey. Yeah, but that's another option. Or because it's end of Halloween, if you guys are into scary things, go to a haunted house or an applor shirt or something. These are great, really great ideas. I think that you know, obviously you know your

dad better than we do. Some dads would be into a theater experience. Some dads would be or like some women would be into a winery. What about skydiving. I mean, that's crazy, but maybe dad has always wanted to skydive. Or you could do the I Fly place that's over by Ridgedale where you just like go in a big vacuum when you just get like sucked up and it's like you're skydiving but you're just in a building. Yeah, that was pretty cool too. So there's so many different ideas. Good luck.

I thought that was that's probably helpful for a lot of people because parents are hard to buy for. But yes, experiences or something. We don't want any more stuff. Most parents don't want any more stuff, but we do like experiences. So let's move on to the next one. Regarding the lady on a treadmill. This goes back a couple of weeks, so basically, she was on a treadmill. She was looking out into the parking garage. She sees a woman pull up with a baby with a car. She

gets a baby out of the car. Some guy pulls up. They're alone in the parking lot. The guys wearing scrubs, and they hug and they kiss, and the guy played with the baby a little bit. So somebody wrote in and they were kind of jokingly speculating Member Jenny about what the story is, like, Okay, they're both married, or she's married, or he's married, she had his baby. They only get to meet very good covertly in the parking lot to say hey, here's the baby, you know,

blah blah blah, and then they hug and kiss and whatever. This is a tamer version that Todd came up with. He is a doctor, they have a nice newborn kid together. He works very hard for a living and the only time he can see his babies on his lunch break. His wife has a special Tater Todd hot dish pot luck event that is coming, so she put her ring in to get clean. And this is why she doesn't have her ring. Oh, I see, but they're picking up tomorrow.

See, it might not be that bad. But then again, they could be fucking hello. Well, because I kept I think during that episode, I kept repeating they fucking yeah, Yeah, I would say that they probably were, but maybe we go with his idea. Toddy made me laugh. I appreciate that. This is why we like your ideas on the Minnesota Goodbye, because they're not our ideas, so you are basically entertaining us. Jenny. I got a suggestion for Jenny and her pooping or lack of issue.

Go to Amazon. Look up Doctor Tobias fourteen day. Colin Klynn's first read the reviews because it's hilarious. You could probably have a fun bit just by reading tholes. But honestly, it works like magic. I only take one because when I take it too it gives me ramps. Try it. I'd love to hear if it helps you. That is from Christy and she signs it with a poop emoji. Jenny, we really should go on Amazon and look up Doctor to Bias fourteen day. Colon cleans Yeah, and see

are there any funny reviews on there? Yes? Colon cleans. Oh and literally the second Google search says reviews like as if it's something that a lot of people will like to review. Apparently, so let's see this product works a little too well. I'm a thirty seven year old female, and the older we get, the more difficult it is to lose weight. Now, I don't really get to get now. I didn't really get this to lose

weight. I got this because my doctor recommendative or a colon cleans. She said I could do it one or two times a year for health benefits and to keep my gut healthy. I have a very sensitive tummy as it is if I do not take a little emodium. This seems like a legit, legit review. Yeah, yeah, I don't want to put you on the spot, but I will read the next email and maybe you can see if during that. Yeah, you can see if you can find a funny review.

Hello, says Jessica to my wonderful kd WB family. Hello, Jessica, I've been if you's a huge fan of the show as long as I can remember, Dave, You and Steve, Oh, the Cactus brothers. Steve and I used to call ourselves the Cactus Brothers for a hot minute. We both had matching glittery sequined cactus jackets. Made you brought me up on stage at Girls' Night Out in twenty twenty and rapped about my ex boyfriend who broke up with me the night before Valentine's Day. I always say that is

my claim to fame to you guys, to come full circle. I am engaged now to a very sweet, handsome and wonderful man whom I'm beyond excited to spend the rest of my life with. As we are in the midst of wedding planning, we are having the worst time trying to find a DJ for our wedding, and then it hit me, why not ask the people I'd listened to every morning and now afternoon with Falan and Zach. It would be a dream come true and an absolute honor of Dave, Drake or Jenny

came to dj our wedding. I understand you get this is something you guys normally don't do, but I would be mad at myself I didn't ask, And if you can't or are not, I would greatly appreciate any recommendations. My fiance and I are getting married at Madden's Resort, and BRAINERD on June fourteenth. If interested, we can absolutely chat about further details and logistics. Thanks for being a part of my morning routine every day, and I will

still love y'all regardless From Jessica. Jessica, I'm super flattered. I don't know the first thing about DJE a wedding. There is such a difference between a radio DJ and a DJ at a wedding, and I will tell you this one. I don't have much wedding advice, but when I tell you wedding advice, I give it a bond DJ's and that is get the DJ

that's done hundreds of weddings. You want to find the DJ who's like you, dealt with drunks, who deals with people who want to hear the cha cha slide when the bride doesn't want to hear the how to get the party going if people are not dancing, you need to have a DJ that knows how to get people out there. You need to have a DJ. Basically,

they are the host and MC of the event. They're the ones whould be like, Okay, now we're gonna do the father of the Father of the groom, or we're gonna do the speeches and everybody please take their seats. That's a DJ that's what the good ones do. That is not in our skill set. I think Drake does them dj J. He's done like hundreds of weddings. He used to do that when he was like in high school. I think because he started very young. Does he still do it?

Do you know? He doesn't know? Does not? Well? I don't think so. He I know he's he's ordained, so I think he's actually doing someone's wedding this weekend, but he's not DJing it. Okay, gotcha. I'm gonna give you one. I'm gonna see if I can still find him on Yeah, here he is. Okay, you can find Jordan, who used to be on our show. A very wonderful human being,

just a positive, happy person. He's done hundreds of weddings. You can find him on Twitter or x at Tornado Jally Tornado, j A l Y and they give his website on there, so if you want to look him up, highly recommend him. I really don't know anybody besides him that does weddings, So try to find Jordan and have no luck there, then get Ahold of Maddens and say hey, we need a DJ but I'm very flattered that you would ask us, and I'm sorry we don't do DJ's because that

is a whole different kind of skill set. Next one, my brother and I. This is my brother and my husband's differences with the Roman Empire thing. So earlier this morning on the show, we talked about why guys are now suddenly obsessed with the Roman Empire, and there was some debate on whether it's just a rumor that was started on TikTok or guys really are obsessed with the Roman Empire. So my husband got annoyed because he thought it was some

Dave Ryan thing and quit replying. Apparently my brother is very into it his conversation with his wife have a great day, and so they screenshot it. Here we go. Do you ever think about the Roman Empire? Why? I don't know, just wondering. Do you? Response? Sometimes? Her response? How often? Every day? She says, tell me more. All the tactics that Caesar writes about it in his accounts of the Gallic Wars directly relate to making proper and professional decisions in work, home, in active

life. Response, Honestly, I'm interested in having an hour convo on this one, for example, and it goes on for it cuts off. For example, in the opening chapter to Caesar's Gallic Wars, he goes over the different types of galls. He explains the Belgiums or the fiercest for three specific reasons. Blah blah blah. So I guess there are people talking about the Roman Empire. Thank you, Hannah, and guess what that's going to wrap

it for this week's or for today's Minnesota Goodbye. A little short because we're running out of time, but we really need your email. Sendols to Ryan Show at KATWB dot com. Your emails are the heart and soul and my favorite part of the Minnesota Goodbye, so please send, even if it's short one just an idea starter. Ryan and Show at KDWB dot com. Thanks for listening.
