Minnesota. Goodbye. Let's start by talking about something that you probably heard about but probably didn't hear about, and that is it's David Jenny and Fallon is not on the podcast today. She's fine, she's not in the hospital. She is now doing the afternoon show on Katie Will You Be with Zach Dillon. So she is no longer on the morning show. She'll be back to

maybe fill in or like co host or whatever here and there. But we announced that this morning and it was something that came as a big shock to a lot of people. Fallon's been here for eleven and a half years, big part of the show. But we are definitely like happy for her that she's doing the afternoon show. She has. I've told her for years, honestly, I've said, you need to do your own show, and she said, well, I've been offered my own show a couple of times,

and I'm like, you need to go do it. And honestly, I would say, you know, she's probably what thirty eight, thirty nine, something like that. It's like, don't stand here. I want to make sure this comes out the right way. Don't be in my shadow. Go do your own show because you're at an age where you need to go do your own show, and she's such a big part of my show. It's like, I know, you can do your own show, so go do your own show. Yeah, And so I mean it's not really her own

show, but it's more her show because it's her and Zach Dillon. Yes, Zack Dillon doesn't really need a co host because he's so awesome on his own, but it is a perfect opportunity for him and Fallon to have a big afternoon show. Yeah, because that's the way morning or afternoon radio is going now. It's more content driven, more personal, that type of thing. So anyway, Jenny, anything you want to say about it. I mean, Jenny is kind of stepping up and she'll be like the new second

Mike as we call into the business on the day Ryan Show. So no pressure, Jenny, but let's fucking let's fucking do this, Jenny. Yes, I agree, let's fucking do this. That's my amada going into this. I think that Fallon has worked really hard, honestly, like you and her both have set such good examples in my life of hard work and striving for everything that you want in life. And so I think that this is such a huge step and opportunity in her career. So I am so incredibly

happy for her Selfishly, I'm so fucking sad because I love Falon. She is not just a co worker, she really is a friend. We are friends, and so I told her I'm going to miss see in her face every morning. But I am excited for this, and I'm so proud of her and everything that she's accomplished. And her and Zach are going to kill it, you know, Like I told her, if it's not during my

naptime, I will turn on KATIEWB. Yeah. Yeah, it's a matter of if it's convenient for us, then we will then we will listen. Yeah, I get it. But no, I think you deserve it, Jenny. I think that you are a hard worker. And there was no when we were, you know, like thinking about this and all this going on, nobody ever considered like, oh well let's find somebody else. We're like, oh, let's move in Jenny. So the only thing that I'll be real honest, but I told Jenny this, you work so hard.

I want you to. I don't want you to have a stroke, and I should that's a bad joke because your sister actually just had a stroke. I don't want you to like have high blood pressure or suffer because you're working so much on the show. Yea, so it should be a lot of fun when you come in every morning, not stressful. So all right, let's see what we got here. We do have some comments on Fallon leaving, so let's see what we got here. Happy Monday. Hope this gets

to you in time. A few things. Falon, I'm literally in tears. I'm horrible with change. I'm happy for you and I love Jenny, but I'm crying. You Dave and Jenny just have a great chemistry. So I'm really going to miss that. I need time to prepare for these things. So the fact that today is your last day isn't sitting well with me. Whenever one of you has gone on vacation, the show is not the same. It is going to take time to get used to. I would

feel this way if any of you were leaving Fallon. I saw your Instagram about about summer. I turned pretty Have you read the books? Do you know what that is? Jenny? It's a show on Amazon Prime. It's a very good show. The second season they just dropped the last few episodes of it, so I think everyone kind of binged it and watched this second season. Yeah, okay, Jenny and Fallon, what shampoo conditioner do you both use? Both of your hair always looks so full and shiny. Shay,

what do you what shampoo or conditioner? I wish if my hairstylists here's this, No you didn't, but I don't use anything like expensive. I use Aussie I think that's what it's called the purple bottles. And then I do use like Kristens purple shampoo because I have blonde hair and it helps keep the color that I want with the blonde. But outside of that, I don't really do much. I will say product wise, that helps my hair look nice when I style it. It's called color Wow products almost any of

them. There's like a dreamcoat one. There's like a coconut I don't even know what it is, but it just helps us stay nice and smooth and stuff if I straighten it or curl it. But that's all I got for you. Okay, all right, good morning to The Ryan Show and Zach Dylan. You may use my name Laura. I'm the KATWB listener from way back to the Wildfire please, mister Postman and Locomotion. Musical days so a very long time, Oh Wildfire like the song and then the other songs,

please mister Postman and Locomotion. I wanted to share that all of the radio shows on kat WB are so well done, and I would submit that the move for Foulon to the afternoon show is quite innovative. Well it really is. Yeah, it's the first time in the history of KATWB there's been a two person afternoon show that I'm aware of. I used to listen to kate WB all day while working. I look forward to hearing Fallon with Zach in the afternoon, and I will continue to look forward to hearing Dave, Jenny

and Drake at the morning. Thank you, congratulations to everyone all around. I think, if it's even possible, kat WB will be a better radio station. Dave, I think you should still follow something you regret not doing. I'm not sure to understand that, Dave, I think you should still follow something you regret not doing. Oh oh, she says, get your butt syndicated. So Dartlick will be a thing across the globe. Love you still, Laura, You know that is you know I wish that I had

pursued that harder. Be flat out honest with you, they probably don't want to syndicate somebody who has three years left in their contract. If I had pushed for syndication fifteen years ago and said I'm going to fucking leave if you don't do it, they would have done it. And I kind of regret not doing that. And but at the same time, I've talked to a lot of people who are syndicated. They say they don't like it. Yeah, they say it's a lot more work and a little bit more money.

And it's like, I don't do this for the money. I'm comfortable with my money that I make. I don't want sure I want more money. Do I need any more money? No? But I don't want my life to be consumed by a syndicated show either, So let's do this one. At first, I was heartbroken with the news. I think you FORO make a great team, but at least we aren't losing Fallon or any of you. And it's nice. No, we will hear Jenny and Drake Mork congrats

to all from Ruthie's so awesome. Okay, this is not related to Fallon or the morning show, Let's see what we got. Saturday night, my boyfriend and I, along with some friends, went to a wedding up north. The venue was at somebody's home that had a barn off to the side that they used for wedding venues. This was by far the most tame wedding I've ever been to. No one vomiting in the bushes before the first dance,

no one slept with anybody's significant others. It was great. However, the day was already off to a rough start with the owner's hovering over the bridal party. They even stood and watched them get married. They weren't even in the wedding in wedding attire, so they stuck out like a sore thumb. It was weird. It gets worse. They walked around, so apparently

these are the people who own the barn. Apparently it gets worse. They walked around while everybody ate and danced, yelling at people for various things like spilling on the concrete floor and vaping outside. I've never seen someone so upset over a little spill on a concrete floor, and I thought vaping outside was

considered the proper thing to do. Then big daddy of them all. There was a photo booth off to the side provided by the venue, and as a big group of us took a picture, one of the groomsmen, whom was a cop, showed his tattoo that it was at the very top of his butt cheek, and the owners screamed at him that it was highly inappropriate. We were all stunned. There was no crack showing, no kids around. It was later in the night the photos for us personally, so why

would he care? The owners proceeded to call the police on the wedding. Thankfully, the officers saw nothing wrong with this situation right but after the cops showed up, everybody left the wedding. The move was killed by the actions of this insufferable venue owner. The bride was crying, the groom was ready to fight, and the night just fizzed out. Thankfully, We all decided to take the party to a bowling alley and ended the shot night with shots

and pizza. Were we wrong for having a little fun and letting loose at a wedding? Let me know, God, no, not at all. None of that even compared to some of the things that I've seen at weddings. No, absolutely no. The last time I did like a barn oneeing, people were hooking up behind a silo. Are you serious? Yeah? It was my sister's wedding. She there was like three different couples that one

and hooked up in like the field behind us silo. Wow. I just can't even imagine how somebody can own a venue and be such buzz kills for everything from I mean spilling on the concrete floor. Man, I wonder if they have Google reviews, because this couple better review the shit out of them and fore warn any other couples that might want to book them, because that's no kidding. It is a barn and people are having fun and you're busy

watching it like, oh god. And then you know what, you might be a little bit if you're older whatever, you might think it's distasteful to like show the tattoo at the top of your butt cheeks, but you don't call the cops based on what that's messed up. It is a little bit weird that the owners were even like lurking around. Usually they give you the right to like the place, but they don't sit and like monitor at the whole time. Exactly, all right, next one, Hey, Morning Show,

my husband and I just got a new job. No, my husband just got a new job, so to celebrate, we want to take his parents out to a nice restaurant. What restaurants in Minneapolis or surrounding area would you recommend? We were thinking maybe a nice steakhouse. Thanks, Christy, you can help me with this, Jenny. But I would say Spoon and Stable would be good one. That's a good one. I mean, I don't know a ton about steakhouses, so I can't help you with that.

But if you're looking for something that's like really good but it's a little expensive. San Jusan also in like the North Loop San Jusan. It's spell it for me Sa n j U s An Okayan Jusan, and it's like an Italian Japanese mixture of food. It's very interesting. The menu changes sometimes. I've only been there twice because it is a pricey place, but super good. If you want something a little bit more reasonable, you could do more.

They're still kind of expensive, but Kalita and Martina are both really good. You know, places I've never heard of before. I've never been to Martina, but I've heard good things about it. I've been to Kualita once. I'm not the best person to ask for restaurant recommendations because I do not go out to eat very often. I'll give you a couple. We really like J. D. Hoyt's supper Club, which is right down on Washington. It's always been one of our favorites. Always consistent, friendly staff,

excellent food. They call it a supper club. I don't know what a supper club is. It's like any other restaurant. I don't know the different speech that. Then there's Mannies and Morton's. They're both steakhouses, both excellent. I think I went to Morton's or it might have been Mannies a couple of years ago. And then there there used to be the Capital Grill downtown. Is the Capital Grill still open? Yeah? I feel like that's not there anymore. A lot of I think that used to be on Hennepin,

and I feel like it's not. Yeah, it said no, it says it is. It looks like it's still there. Yeah. Minneapolis. Yeah, Well, I mean I haven't been there in twenty years, so I don't even know. But Capital Grills another one. There's no shortage of great steakhouse ish places downtown for sure. Next whoa, Let's see if anybody Oh, okay, and so this is interesting. So a lot of people thought that the announcement with Fallon was going to be the new nighttime DJ. His

name is Vaunt. What is Vaughnt's last name, Leak vaunt Leek, which is a really I think his name is DeVante, but he goes by vaunt Leek and he starts tonight. And somebody texted this message from bring me the News, and they said, hey, bring me the news. Ruined the surprise hashtag dart lick. That's from Neil. Well, actually that wasn't the surprise at all, but it is still big news. And Vaunt is going to be excellent, and I've heard such great things about him. So that's

really cool. Let's see if there's something else here. First, congratulations Jenny and Fallon. Wondering how the loss of a person will work. Will Drave take on some of Jennie's responsibilities. I'm sure you have this all figured out, but I was just wondering how it will work, Jenny. Any comments

on that question. I told Drake today we are going to need to sit down and kind of go over some things I'm going to definitely need help with just because I mean, you might not notice sister in the show when Fallon was on it, but I was like running into different studios doing random things throughout the show. Sometimes I will not have the ability to do that anymore. And then there's just a lot of little things that I've done that Drake

can just really easily do it in his studio throughout the show. And I'm just going to need some help with a handful of things now because as much as I wish I could say I'm superwoman, I'm not. And I will get real burnt out if I don't get some help. And that's I told I've talked to Susan about that. It's like, I worry about Jenny, and you know, because I don't want Jenny to be like, oh my god, I cannot do this anymore and come in when Wednesday morning ago,

I'm given my two weeks. Holy shit, I would be like, well, then I'm given my two weeks too. So if you quit, I quit, and if I quit, then Drake gets fired. So but no, But but honestly, you know, it is a it is a big show. It's a major, major radio show, and it takes a major amount of work, and it took a lot of work for us when there were four of us here. So somewhere down the road, you know, Drake will s up up, of course, but at the same time,

somewhere we might say we need a fourth person. Yeah, we can't have interns. We don't get interns for free anymore. That sucks. That was a blessing on the show I got into radio. It makes me so sad like that. I mean, I understand that, like everyone should be paid for their work. Of course I would have loved to be paid, but I worked for free on this show for like a year and a half, I think, until I finally was like, all right, I gotta move on. I can't be an unpaid in turn the rest of my life.

But it is a bummer. We can't have interns. It is well. I think that there was like, in iHeart, there was some sort of labor practice or something, and somebody whose father was a lawyer said, my daughter is working for free and she's doing the work of paid employees, and so she should get paid. So iHeart to you know, you know, total legal line to not get sued said no more interns, which sucks because honestly, there's always going to be a debate about whether interns should be paid.

I come from the opinion of you are getting paid in opportunity and experience. Intern John literally named intern John was an unpaid intern, but that launched his career. Now he's making six figures and a big show in DC and he's huge. He's like one of the new baby upcoming shows in the iHeart Family. And he's like fuck that. He's like, I'm glad I didn't get paid. I'm glad I got the opportunity. And I said, I would love to pay interns. We can't afford it. We just can't do

it. But in turn, John got his start as an intern. Chris Go also an unpaid intern. I would have gladly I had unpaid internships when I was starting out in radio, and I was just glad to have the

opportunity and a foot in the door. But that what do you think about unpaid internships, Jenny, I mean, I came from a time where a lot of people were getting college credit for stuff like that, and it was just like things to do to get into different industries and learn what you like so, like, I do think now it makes more sense to pay someone and not just give college credit. I do agree with that, but I'm not upset about the fact that I was an unpaid intern for a long time.

Like I was allowed to do a few different things. Did by other internships pay me? They did? But I do think that it would I don't know. I think that interns probably should be paid because most interns are broke ass college kids who are just trying to get buy in life and find a career. And then you want to not pay them while they're trying to study and get good grades and do all that stuff. It's just it's hard. But I would say that my duties on this show were so minimal as

an intern. I think I grabbed some audio here and there, posted the podcast. It was a very simple job. I mostly came in and hung out, you know, Like I wasn't doing that. Well, you did more. You did more than come in and hung out. Because I'm gonna tell you, we've had a lot of interns over the years. When we had interns, some I remember really well, like Sally, I remember really well. Sally didn't do any work, but Sally was a character Lewis.

I remember intern Lanny was one of my favorites because Lanny had such a big personality. And I remember the first day I saw her. I walked into the studio over here next door, and she jumped out spread her arms open wide, and she said, I'm Lanny, your new intern. And that was Lanny's personality. And some are memorable, and then some honestly would come in and play on their phones and you know, look bored because you know, once the novelty of being at Katie WB wears off, it's like,

oh, okay, well I'm bored yea. Anyway, all right, that is it for the Minnesota Goodbye. Any questions, comments, whatever, We'd love to hear from you, as always, send those two Ryan Show at katiewb dot com.
