All right, here we go with the mens soda goodbye, and let's see what we get to start off with. I'm way behind, and I was listening to Dave's mold problem just to let you know. I got mold in my basement in Colorado. It's an old house, is the house I grew up in. They we put news storm drain storm trains, downspouts and gutters on it. Five years ago. We had a ton arrained this spring and the basement was wet with some standing water. And it costs so much to

get it done. They had to rip out all the moldy wet carpet. There were literally mushrooms growing in the carpet. It was terrible. And now we have to get like drain tiles put in. It's going to cost probably around twenty thousand dollars. You know, you can afford that, but for someone else that's not. What do they offer like payment plans or something. Must yeah, because that's a crazy amount of mine. So we're very fortunate that we are able to. It's not devastating us financially. But that's the

thing about a lot of people. If you have something like that, you have to do it. But it's very expensive, as expensive as a car in some cases. And anyway, one of the problems was when we had the downspouts and gutters put on five years ago. The idiots that did it directed a downspout to drain four feet from the foundation of the house, and I didn't notice it, nor did I think that I had to go inspect

their work. But that's the only change with all the rain. So this person says, people probably email and already, but I work commercial insurance. You should check with the people who install the gutter because they can probably pay for all of it and file a claim with their insurance. Happens all the time. Sounds like it was their error. I asked Susan about it. Thanks Vanessa, by the way, and Susan's like, I don't remember who did it. Yeah, I don't. And I'm like, we can we

go back and look a credit card statements or something. We absolutely did it with a credit card, and even it was a bank, we could go back and look. So that's a good idea. I haven't ruled that out yet, thank you. Next one, this is a group therapy, so we're gonna save that for another time. This one says Minnesota, goodbye, So I'm a bit behind. On the after the show podcast one was David Jenny discussing overall fitness and making it part of their lifestyle for life. Question.

I've been doing a boot camp for ninety days. Every thirty days, I sign up again each month. The exercises are switched up, new ones are introduced. I've lost sixteen pounds so far, but the last two weeks I'm stuck. I'm a lost any weight, but I haven't gained any weight. Any insight, As I know you've been have varying experiences with weight loss and exercise. The boot camp is full body strength, cardio hit. I'm looking. I'm also watching my nutrition. My goal is forty pounds, so

I do have more to lose. Thanks for all you guys do. Jenny is not in the studio right now, so I cannot tell you. I'm going to say your best source would be your trainer. If you're going to a boot camp, ask them, tell them you're stuck. I only know that sometimes we lose the first five ten pounds pretty rapidly, and then after that it really slows down. And I also have been guilty of not being

completely honest. With myself because for example, like over the fourth of July, I had hot dogs and a burger and chips and things like that, but I had less than I would normally, and I told myself I was eating better, but I didn't lose any weight that week, and I know why. It's because I didn't eat right. So I can only you know. You're human too, so maybe you just need to check and see whether

you have been eating more of the wrong things. I don't know, or maybe somebody else will write in with an idea, because, like I said, Jenny's not here and she's a better expert on that than I am. Next one, Jason says, good morning, Gang. Heard something interesting over the weekend up into Louth of the air show, and it immediately made me

think of your show. A representative from Sirius that's an aircraft manufacturer and I think they make them into told me about their safe return Auto land system, which at the touch of a button, is a fully autonomous system that will

land the plane in the event of an emergency like an unconscious pilot. It'll also analyze all possible data, including fuel levels, whether and terrain to determine the best to report to land It'll then contact the tower, lower the flaps and landing gear until landing safely, and even open the plane's doors once on the ground. Just thought that was super cool and relevant to the recent discussions. I've never heard of that. That is amazing. But with all the

auto flying, auto driving, whatever, it doesn't surprise me. But there's a lot to landing. I mean, if you are like flying randomly over Hutchinson, Minnesota, and you are feeling yourself having a heart attack, you're going to pass out or your pilot dies, you push the button. Well, first of all, it's going to determine where you are, where's the nearest airport. It's going to descend safely, line up with the runway. So that's very interesting. Yeah, the next one, no, I think

we we'll save that one. Okay, well, well we can do it. It's it's not specifically for the Minnesota goodbye, but at least so see what happens. Just got back from traveling to Spain for a few weeks. Was able to listen to the Dave Ryan Show via Apple podcast. That's cool. While I was there, it was not a new experience for me because I listened to the show every day when I studied abroad there in Spain six

years ago. Two reasons I am writing. I think it was the Minnesota Goodbye I was listening to when you and Fallon were talking about plane etiquette. Ironically, I was on the plane. Even more ironically, there was a person in the row next to me who had their feet up on the headrest of the person in front of them. By the way, I couldn't believe it, so I tried to sneakily take a picture. It's poor quality, but I've attached it to this email for your reference. All Right, I'm

gonna go click on it and take a look. Yeah, she is leaning way back with her feet almost straight up in the air. So not the soles. Sure, So it's not the soles of her feet that are against the backrest. It is her feet pointing straight up in the air. We are her her, that is. I've never seen so selfish, and people go, this generation is just so selfish. I'm going to guess back in

nineteen sixty four there were people that were assholes like that too. I think every generation has got its assholes, and every generation's got its wonderful people that would say I would never do something like that, So that's one thing they say. Then they go on to say, had a connecting flight in Paris get get Spain. At the beginning of my trip, there was the kindest woman from Minneapolis who helped me navigate the airport very minimal time and making the

connecting flight about an hour. I was going to Madrid and she was going to Vienna, Australia, Austria, but this woman swooped in and took me under her wing. I was so grateful because this was my first real time traveling alone internationally and I was in a frenzy worried about catching the connecting flight. She made sure I got to the right terminal and gate area while we navigated security and customs together in the airport. Her name is Linda. She's

from South Dakota. She's lived in Minnesota for about twenty years. I would guess she's in her forties, but I'm not sure. Anyway, can you please say thank you to her for me on the radio. I would love her to hear this and know how much of hers reassurance she was for me during this experience. I will try to remember to do that. Sometimes I'll forward it to myself and I'll try to remember to do that. And it's very sweet of you to shout her out. And thanks for thinking of us

with the woman with the feet up on the back of the seat. That's crazy, all right. Another one Minnesota Goodbye Morning Show crew. My name is Schurette. She emails a lot, and I always say her name wrong. I know hers is a more about a technical issue. By the way, it's not really Minnesota goodbye email. And just so she knows, I sent it to Jenny and Drake, they should be able to look into it for you. Okay, we're good. Then I will delete that one because

it's already been taking care of. And thanks for listening. Don't say my name. This email will take a turn. Okay, let's see what we got, all right. Earlier this week, it was mentioned on the show that the Sound of Freedom movie was a surprising hit at theaters. I saw a TikTok last night where a lady said she noticed all the screenings for that movie were completely sold out online when she was looking for tickets for another show,

while other popular movies had ample tickets available. She was curious, so she peeked into that sold out show and five minutes prior to start time, the theater was completely empty. Many people in the comments said their theater was sold out for that show, but there were less than a handful of people actually showing up. The theory is that someone or a group is buying up all these tickets to give the movie and inflated impression. Just a theory,

of course, but it compelled me to mention that is fucking crazy. If somebody is like doing that. That's an expensive promotion to buy up a theater. But it's getting the hype because even Carson, who is not interested in human trafficking movies, he's like, yeah, me and Matt want to go see Sound of Freedom. Yeah, everyone's talking about it. They're saying it's

like it's hard to watch. It's very informative. I mean, when I first moved here, I was invited to a trafficking charity event and I didn't know anything about it. I honestly didn't even hadn't even really heard of trafficking. And I guess if I had heard of it, it was one of those things that seemed so foreign, it only happened to different countries, and they had, like the police chief of Minneapolis at the time come up and talk about how they had had one of the biggest busts in like the country

here in Minnesota. It was insane and it was very eye opening. And then, like a lot of things, you think about it a lot. Then you kind of move on and you don't think about it as much. But it's still happening, and it's so bizarre it is, and it's just shameful, and it's just I mean, there's not much more to say about it except that it's amazing that it happens. Time to do a one eighty. Possibly by most embarrassing moment to date. I was out for a hike

with my seven year old daughter a local regional park. It was a short loop, maybe a mile and a half. My tummy started to rumble and I had to go pee about halfway through. Eventually I had to pee so bad. I knew I would just have to go on the trail, no big deal, so I squat. But as soon as I start peeing, poo also starts coming out. I couldn't stop. My daughter having to turn around, caught a glimpse and said, Mom, why are you pooping in

the woods. We were both mortified than of course, I had to waddle back to the end with nothing to wipe with. I begged, and Briber never tell a soul. I just know she's going to let it slip sometime on accident, and I just want to throw up thinking about it. The positive of this would have finally pushed me to start physical therapy for my pelvic floor, which I've been putting off for years. I can't rank bended thea enough. It is so nice to make progress to not pee every time I

jump or sneeze, being better in control of that stuff. What videos do you use or what exercises? Send them to me. I'm curious. I see so many. It's one of those things, a kind of like weight loss, where it's so overwhelming you don't even know what to like what we're now. So yeah, if you're listening, and I'm sure you are, then send that to us and we'll follow up. Yikes, I told you this would be all over the place. Have a great day. Yes,

it was really interesting. I love emails like that that are like a story and something totally unrelated, like the Sound of Freedom. So thank you. That was really interesting. And by the way, Sound of Freedom, coincidentally here is another email about it. Saw movie last night, can't stop thinking about it, so I feel the need to share for those especially we have children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. It's called Sound of Freedom. It's

about human trafficking. I knew it was a major problem, but it's bigger than you can imagine. The movie was really powerful and had an important message and bringing awareness. It's sad and sick and terrifying, but most importantly really eye opening and hit home when thinking about our own kids. Even if you don't think it could happen to your kids, it's a super small chance where

we live, but it can still happen. It struck a chord and now I want to learn about how else I can protect my family with this in mind, what I can do to help others, teach our kids what to look for as they get older and smarter. It would have more of an impact if you saw it yourself, truly. Please try if you can. There are more people in slavery now than ever before, including when it was

legal. Millions of these are children. The industry makes more money than all of the airlines combined, and is surpassing the money made in the drug world. Insane It's emotional and disturbing, of course, but I feel so moved and it's so important to share what is happening around the world. Not sure if this is going to be shared on kat WB's homepage. Thank you so

much and hugs, and that is from Janet. I'm so curious how this is so big, so huge, Like he says, how you know what I mean, like when something is so sketchy, who makes the first contact, who reaches out to see if someone's interested in the How do these like these big? I don't understand how it works and how it doesn't get out And yeah, I don't either, the same as drug rings, I guess.

But well, I mean you think about this. I mean I think what you're implying is like, Hey, I've got this person that i'm human trafficking, and I can send them over to have sex with you for one hundred and fifty dollars. I don't I don't know. That is so foreign to us. I'm going to guess. In other I'm going to say it, in other countries, there's probably less protective layers, there's probably less social

services, there's probably less safety nets. Yeah, in impoverished countries, there is more of a need to make money through whatever illicit means there are, because it's hard to believe that, like in Tallahassee, that it could be happening. But I'm sure it is. Yeah, I mean, it's definitely happening in America, clearly, but at year right, maybe it's predominantly in other countries. I don't know. Yeah, I don't know either, So I will say I have a little bit of trouble believe that it makes more

money than all of the airlines combined. I mean, I don't know if that is something that you heard somewhere. With all due respect, I don't think. I'm not saying you made it up. Maybe it was in the movie, and maybe it was, but I do have a difficult time believing there's more money in human trafficking than in all the airlines worldwide. I'd like

to know the source on that one. And I'm saying not saying I doubt it, but I think sometimes people will put things like that out on Facebook or whatever, and I don't know, but it is Hey good, I'm glad that the Sound of Freedom is bringing awareness about that. Okay, and next one, maybe I'll watch that on the airplane. I've got so many things to watch. It's in the theater all the evening. You're right, never mind, Okay, next one. You were talking about remembering your kids

on the podcast on Tuesday. I wanted to share a post I made on Facebook this weekend. I always hate it when people say, oh, just wait until the kids do X, y Z, or just wait until they're this age. I try to focus on the present age and try to remember as much as I can, because time really is fleeting. Sometimes that becomes something that becomes all too true with age. My post is below, and the photo that accompanied it is attached, so her writing is called Soon.

Soon, these shelves won't be cluttered with kids books, and they'll hold photos of the past. Soon I will drink my full cup of morning coffee as it's days warm, without little hands bringing books from the shelf to read. Soon, there won't be legos littered beneath these shelves. My feet won't feel the sharp pain of a lego I step on the dark berry deep in the

carpet. Soon, there won't be the noise of fifty books falling as a child tumbles them all down as he selects which one he wants to read without a care as to who will pick them up. Soon, this house that we bought to be a home won't be used as much, but will more closely resemble a museum with items untouched. Everything will be neatly tucked in place. Soon, all too soon, I will wish for the time when the shelves were messy. I think that's really nice. It sounds a lot like

a poem that's in my book. Yeah, because my poem is called one Day. And let me see if I can find it really quick here because I read it too, me, Dave, I can't hear it right now. I don't is my book around here somewhere because if it isn't, my book is around here somewhere, and there's a poem in there that I'm really proud of called one Day. Let me see if I can find it one Day by Dave Ryan m No, it doesn't look like it, But in my book there's a poem that is exactly like yours, but mine starts with

instead of soon. It's called one day. Oh yeah, so anyway it is. And because I realized as my kids were getting older, you know, like it's like one day the basketball hoop out front will go unused one day. The only noises in the house will be the soft sounds that adults make one day. What and so it's very much like yours. But yeah, you know what, treasure those times and everybody, every parent knows to

treasure and tries to treasure, but it doesn't stop them from passing. You can treasure all you want to, but it doesn't stop them from passing. So and that's it. Anything to add, I don't think so. I think I mean, thanks for making me emotional again. To end this podcast, Yeah, no problem. Send an email to Ryan Show at KDWB dot com.
