I pushed the button and immediately choked on my own saliva. We're off to a great start on the Minnesota Goodbye. It is just Ave and Drake today. Jenny is out. Jenny has missed more work than is tolerable lately. She missed this, she missed for jury duty last fall. She went to Tahiti, she went to Thailand. Yeah, so this is some bullshit Jenny. It's funny because she texted this more. I don't care. She's fine. She texted this morning said she couldn't come in at three o'clock in the

morning, and she actually sent a picture of the thermometer. Yeah, and it said one oh one point three, which I thought it was hilarious, which is a pretty high temperature. So hopefully she'll feel better. I tried to get hold of Bailey to come in, and Bailey didn't answer her phone until like about eight o'clock, and I said, no, it's okay. So we'll see what happens tomorrow with Bailey. Maybe she'll be here, maybe

Jenny will be here. All right, here we go. Last week there was somebody who said there coming into Minnesota from Wisconsin and they wanted to know what to do good morning, my favorite people. Favorite people writing to give ideas to the ladies coming from Wisconsin and if they wanted to stay at a hotel, I recommend Best Western plus by Mall of America. It's got a Fogo gaut show attached to it, which is actually better than Fogo to Chow.

Okay, then you're right by Mall of America. It's got a lot of restaurants and things to do. Plus ten minute Uber ride to downtown Minneapolis and off a recommendation from Jenny, I highly recommend Public Domain. And then if you go to that area, you're right in North Loop, which has had a ton of fun stuff to do. There's way more to do around the Twin Cities than to go to one area. So Uber ten or fifteen

minutes here and there and try lots of different stuff. Dude, Can I say when I used to come here to visit because I used to drive here a lot, like from I would say from like twenty sixteen to up until before I moved here. The Crown Plaza by the Mall of America. Yeah,

that was my go to spot overy single time. It was pretty relatively cheap, and they were also one of the only hotels that allowed me to stay under twenty one because I would come here while when I was under twenty one, right right, okay, And then that way the train station. Right there, you can go either to Mall of America or you can go downtown with it. I don't know. I thought it was super convenient to stay there, okay. So Crown Plaza is another one. It's funny because

you bring up hotels and I don't have any other suggestions. If you've got a suggestion for her, let me know. But Alison, my daughter, and Susan, my wife, and Ava, Alison's daughter, were just in Disney and they were trying to save some money, so they stayed at one of the cheaper places called Pop Century because there's the Contemporary, and there's the Grand Floridian and the Polynesian and Animal Kingdom, and they stayed at Pop Century

because it was one of the cheaper ones, maybe the cheapest one. And they were there for two days before they decided they couldn't take it anymore because there was nothing to do in this hotel. There was no activities or restaurants or anything to do, and the walls were so thin that they could hear the neighbor flushing their toilet on both sides, so I know. So they laughed about it a couple of time, a little bit, and then they

said, we're changing. So they went to Animal Kingdom Lodge one hundred dollars more a night, but with more to do. And so if you're going to Disney you want to stay on a budget for Pop Century, great, but just a heads up, there's not much to do there. All right, Hey guys, Andrew and Ohio Again, I heard Dave accidentally almost swear

on the radio the other day. I wanted to bring up the topic of swearing on the radio or TV. Did you guys realize that the FCC is either going lax on swearing on TV or they made some kind of deal with Yellowstone. I was watching that show once at nine am live on the Paramount Network and they were saying uncensored F words and S words. I was shocked. I mean, I know in the past that they use a little they to be a little lax on late night TV with swearing in nudity, but

never have I seen uncensored cuss words as I seen on Yellowstone. So what do you think is it a deal specific to them? Or is the FCC just changing their ways. If it was on the Paramount network, it's a different set of rules because the Paramount network is not broadcast over the air. So the big difference is with the radio station. We can swear all we want on the podcast because it's not over the airwaves. The airwaves belong to the public, but on this it is not. You know, it's the

Internet or it's podcasting. It doesn't belong to the public. So if we swear on KWB, that is still a violation of the FCC. And if they swear on Channel eleven or on the CBS television network, that's a violation. But Paramount is its own private app. Doesn't that make sense? Yeah, that makes sense, So I think that's why they do that. But yeah, I think I've noticed that too. And Andrew writes again. Okay, he writes again on Saturday, Andrew, Hey, guys, wanted to

comment on the have you found your Happily Ever After? Topic? Because this came up. So many of my friends and younger friends are getting a divorce and they were with somebody and they thought they were the one. And I even had a friend say one time, I'm moving to Burnsville with the one and that lasted a couple of months and it didn't work out. So it's very curious to me. Have you found your happily ever after? Andrew says, I'm thirty two. I was with the same person for fifteen years.

My first real relationship started my freshman year in high school, and we say together till I ended up spending some time as a tenant of the state before COVID. Honestly, though, I think we both thought a love several fell

out of love several years before we actually got the divorce. I know I can't really speak for her, but for me, I know two years before we actually got married, I cheated on her and that was probably the end of the actually happily ever after anyway, wanted to share that now with my new life. Will be married one year on March third, and the relationship seems so much better and we're much happier, and the happy ever after feeling

is much stronger than the last relationship. And thanks you guys, love your show. Andrew, thank you. I think that there's a lot of people that are still looking for their happily ever after, and probably a lot of married people that are still looking for their happily ever after. Do you think people younger find their happily ever after? Do you think it's kind of like something you find when you get a little bit older, Probably when you get

older. I know two young couples right now that are about forty ish. One of them told me that she just made a consultation appointment with Jonathan Fogel m hm, wow, and she's been unhappy ish for a while. And then another one basically is just been unhappy. And they you know, and they're young ish and they have kids, and so it just really depends, you know. There are couples that, I mean, I know couples that they're each other's best friends and they would never cheat and they would never want

to, you know, be with anybody else but that person. And I know others that they can barely tolerate that person. So I've seen somebody. Some people went out like when I went in high school, like high school sweethearts that you know, they were always like, oh, we're gonna be We're gonna last forever, and they were just always lovey, lovey dovey all this. And now this year, actually i've seen two of those people that I know broken up, Like that's it. Yeah, and it does absolutely

crazy. And that's the thing is like you think you get you think you're gonna get married, and you found this person and then a few years down the road or twenty years down the road, you just kind of grow apart. Let's see, Hello Minnesota, goodbye. After listening to the Friday Morning podcast, I wanted to write in inside with Dave Ryan on the Taylor Swift debate. We had just a fun time on Friday and it wasn't meant to be taken seriously. And I love Taylor Swift and she's so talented and she's

such a song great songwriter, an amazing performer and business person. But I said, and I really believe this, that she is a good singer, but not a great singer. And this bitch over here, Drake, and the other bitch in the room that's not here today, Jenny, You're like, oh my god, she's the holy grail of all that is holy and entertaining. And I said, shut up. She can sing. But I said, if she were in the Ossio High School choir, they'd put her

back in the soprano section. They would never let her do the solo in the Spring concert, and you guys are like, oh god, listen. I wasn't a hundred percent disagreeing with you. I was just like, I couldn't believe that you were going on the show and like openly just ripping on her as much as you were. But I was concern for you, no, And I said, she's a good singer, better than me, but not a great singer. And I think that anybody who and listen, I'm

not a great judge of singers, but Adell is a great singer. Beyonce is. I don't think Beyonce is as good as a Dele, but Beyonce is a great singer. I think that Miley Cyberus is a great singer, but I don't think that Taylor Swift is. But that's okay. I will tell you, like one of my favorite bands, Kiss, Their songs aren't great. They've got two songs that are good Detroit Rock City and Beth. The rest of their songs are okay, yeah, and none of them can

really sing well, but it doesn't matter. They're great entertainers. So have you ever have you ever gone so listen to like an artist, like listen to their music really fell in love with them and then went to see them live and then they're just absolutely terrible live. Like you ever think of anybody of you? Machine Gun Kelly Oh, really really bad one for me.

Yeah, Like I went and saw him. I think it was a Milwaukee and it was like when he was just releasing all of his like rock stuff, when he was doing the rock pump pop stuff, and I went saw him and I was so disappointed, like he had like the energy was there or whatnot, but he just sounded so bad. That's it. Yeah, And sometimes people don't if they don't have a lot of experience on stage,

they just don't know how to pull that off. I know you get an appointment in minute, So we're going to wrap up with one more email, Hello Minnesota. Oh, same one, but she can continues. I am a nineteen year old woman, so part of Taylor's target audience. But I agree with Dave that her voice is not particularly exceptional. I love her music. I think your songwriting is excellent, but she sounds fantastic into performances because

they're her songs. Most people don't write songs out of their vocal range or with notes that are particularly challenging. To sing. Adele could easily sing any of Taylor's songs with little or no practice, but I don't think Taylor would be able to do the opposite. I don't think Taylor. I also don't think Taylor would have been successful without how well off her parents were. They

both worked in business and finance, and we're very well off. In fact, I believe they even moved to Nashville primarily to help Taylor pursuer dreams, which is not something most parents would be able to do. They also paid for her to take songwriting lessons. Of course, a lot of Taylor's success is hers how she's branded herself, her songwriting, performance ability, and fan interactions. But I don't think it's a bad thing to admit she's not the

greatest singer on the planet. If I were Taylor and heard people saying that about me, I'd have so much success and money that I don't think I would give a darts lick. And that was very clever use of the word dart lick, Cassie, Thank you. I really appreciate that. I don't give a dart slick. I'm gonna start using that one. It's good. Have a great day, have a great week, Dave Jenny Drake from your favorite college staff writer, Cassie. Cassie, thank you. I don't give

a darts lick. Oh do you think I'll forget that one? Will you remind me? I'll remind you that. I'll Actually, that's probably gonna be the title of this episode. I don't give a darts lick. I fucking love that, So thank you, Cassie. And if you asked for a staff writer sticker and I did not get to your email today, we did not get to all of them, but we will in the next couple of days. Send your emails to Ryan's show at KDWB dot com.
