Good morning. It's the Minnesota Goodbye Jenny and Drake here again. We got one two days left of Drake and I on the Minnesota Goodbye this week. Well you stay on it. Well yeah, but I mean just like you and I yea yeah, I watch you guys from a distance as you do it. Oh yeah, creeper, I'm just kidding. Okay. This one comes from Sessa. She says, good morning, guys. I found the real solution to the people wanting to listen to older podcast episodes. There's a

website called podchaser dot com. If you sort by oldest, you can access episodes as early as nine eleven twenty seventeen the Minnesota Goodbye podcast go back to the very first episode. Hope this helps anyone who has been wishing to listen to more than other podcasting apps will allow. I just started an overnight stocking job at my local grocery store, so I'm happy to find these since I've been caught up for so long but only started listening to you guys over the

summer. Can't wait to hear some of Jenny's crazy stories and more of Steve O's since Apple podcast barely has any STEVEO. Episodes Sally Tu Laine for Radios unavailable, and I'm so upset because every podcasting app I've tried will not play a single episode. Love you guys. Yeah, I don't know what happened to mine in Tina's podcast to Laing for Radio, like it was removed. We uploaded it through a certain system that we used to use, and now

they like don't use that system anymore. So now like none of our podcast episodes are up anymore. Bummer. It wasn't taken off as far as I know. It wasn't taken off because Tina wasn't part of the company anymore. It was just like because of systems switching and stuff like that. So anyway, so that's a way to final episodes podchaser dot com that comes from Sesna. All right. Next up, it says, hey, je Jenny and Drake. You mentioned that you were low on email, so I figured I

would write in and ask Drake about his aspirations. So we don't hear about him as much, and we know Jenny is going to crush it with Jenny's the Morning to do someday. Drake, what are your long term career goals? Do you want to stay in radio or do something more behind the scenes, or do you think you will leave radio one day? That is, honestly, that is such a good question. I don't know. I'm very, very, very motivated when it comes to social media, so I know

I'm going to be doing something with social media. And it just so happens that radio and social media, like they really combine, yep, very well together. And that's why I think I'm so attracted to it, because I can do a lot of the things that I want to do, like video editing and you know, having a personality on social media, and I can tie all that in with like radio. And since I've done radio for so long, it's like basically almost all I've known is radio and social media.

So I don't see myself going anywhere soon. Yeah, you know, maybe down the road, I figure I want to do something else in social media maybe, but for right now, I'm still very content where I'm at. So al right, I love that, Okay, and then she has another question. Do you want kids? Do you want to get married someday? Do you want to stay in the Midwest for the rest of your life? Mm? Really good question. I think I do eventually want kids at some

point. Not for a while though I'm still very young. I don't even really want to even think about kids. But I think down the road, once I find someone that I genuinely like a soulmate, I think, yeah, I definitely want to have kids. I don't know if I'm going to be staying in the Midwest. My dream is actually have like a beach house in Hawaii. That's like my dream because I love the ocean, so I have not no I mean, but you can not be to Hawaiian. Probably

imagine that you love living there. Oh yeah, one hundred percent. Yeah, so beach house. I love the beach. I love the ocean so much, so I think eventually that's probably gonna be one of my end goals is to have something like that. Getting married absolutely at some point. I don't think I'm gonna make it like a big deal like I'm gonna be I'm one of those people I just want probably just want to have like a low key wedding, you know, family be there, maybe some like close friends,

but that's that's pretty much it. So I love it well. That all comes from Sydney. She says, these are the things that people want to know cheers. Thank you, Sidney. I hope, I hope I indulged you a little bit. All right, thanks Sydney. All right. Next it says, hello, please don't say my name. I'm having a dilemma. But being that I'm over dramatic, I'm probably making a big deal

out of nothing. So I have a few trips planned out in a couple months, and my trips are spread out, for example, one trips in March, one in May, one in June. So at the end of it all, I'll have a little over one day of vacation left. Then I'll have to save up again. I get ten vacation days a year, but the thought of having to rebuild my vacation hours again scares me. I'm the type of person that likes to save up, i e. Money, vacation time, draw for cards. I'm probably tripping over nothing, but I

know I'll have fun on my vacations. I just like to have cushion in for just in case situations. As for how I am going to afford all of my vacation, that's another topic lol. Aka girl math things. So I totally feel you on this one because that it sort of happened to me last year, but it didn't. I mean, I have more than ten vacation days, but I had a snowboarding trip planned and then a bachelorette party I had to go to, and it all was like towards the beginning of

the year. And then same thing happened again this year, where I had a bachelrette party and now I have a snowboarding trip coming up in a like less than a month, and so I was like stressed about like using all this vacation up. And then like last year, suddenly I did have a lot of vacation left, and I shoehorned random things and not random. I mean we went to Tahiti, but like that wasn't really the plan, Like

we weren't planning on doing a trip like that. It just was like a last minute trying to find something that was like unique, something that was out of the country and then not super expensive, and that was one of the cheaper flights that we could find. And so I waited too long to use vacation and that's how that vacation happened. So I would say for you, I totally get it, because now you're using up all your vacation halfway through the year aka June. It sounds like and then you maybe have a day

left. I think if those were like things that you planned and they worked out well with your schedule, just go with it. I don't know, there's no solution for you. I can't be like, well, just get more vacation days. It's like not how jobs work. So I don't really want to hand out that much vacation. I think think about it that way,

that you did plan these vacations, you're gonna get them in. Yeah, something might come up in the later half of the year that you're like, oh, I don't have vacation days for this, but you'll figure it out, hopefully, Like obviously emergencies that happen. Usually people's jobs allow you to like work around that. So but I know, like for mental health

reasons, people like to spread out their vacations more. And that's like how I try to plan my vacations usually as like okay, like so I've got this trip coming up in March, I'm definitely probably not going to take another vacation for a few months, you know what. I you know what I found out recently, but is that people in Europe like they get when even like when their job entry level, Like right when you get to a new job, most of everybody has a minimum of like thirty days vacation. Yeah,

it's called a holiday and they go on holiday. They oh yeah. Europe is very different. America is work, work, work, enjoy your life a little bit on the side, work work work, Yeah, that is America, and Europe is way more laid back. They are chiller. I think, like times that they start working are later, they have longer lunches, they take smoke breaks like more often because cigarettes are still a big

thing over there. It's a very different vibe and not obviously every country is different, so I know, like you might email us and be like, no, Jenny, that's not what they do in Germany. They just drink all day. But it's a very different culture. And I mean I've been on the side of TikTok before where people have moved from America to Europe and they're not making as much money, but they also don't need to make as much money to live there and do things that are enjoyable. So and it's

just like not as much of a hustle culture. There's definitely still a hustle culture. I'm sure throughout Europe, but it's just in general, it's not as big as what it is in America. But yeah, it's interesting. I wish we could all get some more vacation days. But then there's people who have unlimited PTO and then they don't even like take their Why they don't even like take vacation. Yeah, my sister is unlimited PTO and I'm like, girl, I'd be taking like two weeks off. Yeah, girl a

same same. Okay, this email calling out an email that we had I believe yesterday. It says, Okay, I had to write it because it bugged me. Sorry, Stephanie. But it does say under in the red Hot Chili pepper song. Grew up singing that song with my dad. Is that weird and it's kind it's kind of hard to hear, but they definitely do. Here's the lyrics, so it says, is where I drew some blood under their bridge downtown. I could not get enough under the bridge downtown,

forgot about my love under the bridge downtown. I gave my life away. Yeah yeah, yeah, Okay, I'm not singing it obviously according to how the song goes, but yes, Hannah has found the lyrics. And they you say under in that song, so if you know what we're talking about. Stephanie had brought up how the red hat Chili pepper song doesn't have under in it and under the bridge, but now Hannah is saying that it does, so I still wouldn't have gotten it even Yeah, yeah for a

lyric shuffle. Here's another one that it's the same. It's the same one. Jamie also wrote in saying the exact same thing. So Jamie, thank you also for calling out. We love what people call out mistakes, all right, usually gets us that are wrong. But unfortunately, Stephanie, this time you were a little wrong. See. Sometimes some like listeners will call something out that I'll like I said like the next day or even like a few hours after I said it, and I won't even remember recall saying it,

And I'm like, damn, you guys, pay attention. Yeah, it's great. All right. This comes from Cassie and it says, hi, morning. I hope this email finds you all right. Oh. I became a regular listener after one family therapy session was just too good to turn off. After one family therapy session was just too good to turn off, I logged in an iHeart and haven't looked back since. Okay, this may be a question for the morning show to invite some good text or conversation,

or maybe just for the podcast. Either way, I'd love to get your thoughts and or conversation going regarding weddings, travel and lodging and how folks in relationships go about paying for it. When you and your partner are invited to wedding of your friend or families more your friend than theirs, how do you cover the finances ie, hotel, gift, et cetera. Do you split it, do you cover it? Do you cover most but they take care

of uber or something else along the way. What if it's a destination wedding. What if it's a destination wedding for your friend who grew up with you, but they've only met Maybe once my boyfriend and I were invited to a destination wedding of an old friend, but once very close friend, and it would be a wonderful vacation for the both of us. But I don't know if I should fork out the money to cover both of us. But I also think it's ridiculous for him to have to pay for any of it when

he doesn't know the bride and groom hardly at all. Any and all thoughts are welcomed. Thank you so much. That's an interesting question. So we had e White's wedding back in what September I think it was, and so we had to stay up and well, I stayed up in Duluth. I think you drove home because you're crazy. And I paid for the hotel for Andrew and I because they felt like that was only fair, like we were out of town, like staying out of town. I wasn't going to make

him pay for that. And then I like, if it's my friend, I cover a present for someone, and then if it's Andrew's friend, Andrew covers a present for that person. Like That's how we kind of handle gifts and stuff like that. As far as destination weddings go, I've only been invited to one that is actually coming up this November. I think that is

going to be in Mexico and it's for my good friend. And Andrew obviously is invited as well, and we discuss like potentially going, but when it comes down to it, I don't know that we will because just vacation time wise, all that stuff, like and I've already done a bachelor party this year, Like, I don't know if I really want to do a destination wedding. Like I love my friend, but she totally understands, like not

a lot of people are going to be making the wedding. She gets that, and so I fully assumed Andrew would be paying his way there if we did decide to go, though, I was not going to be covering his flight, the hotel, like we were going to be splitting everything. So I think I get where you're coming from that your partner doesn't necessarily know these people. But I just feel like, like a vacation for him too,

That's what you got to think of it. It's very different. I feel like going up to Duluth me covering a hotel is one thing, but like going on a trip like that, I feel like there's got to be a little split seas and then also maybe you just cover a little like you cover the present, and maybe you do pay for a few more things because it is for your friend, right, But I feel like it's fair to say, hey, let's go on this destination wedding. If he's into it,

then it's fair that you guys split the costs. Oh yeah, one hundred percent. No, I'm with you on that one. You can't expect your partner to pay, especially that amount of money. I mean you're looking at what like two grand per person probably right, so that'd be four grand like the total flight and everything included, Jessie, unless you're made a money like gir you cover your man if you want. But like for me, I

am not paying Andrew's way to this wedding in Mexico. I can't afford that, Like we would have to split that if we decided to go, so and I probably wouldn't go. If he decided he didn't want to go, I probably would not go then because I would want it to be kind of a trip and wedding combo thing for us. You know. One last email to finish up the podcast for today. This one says, Hi, Jenny and Drake, I'm watching Survivor right now. I think Jenny should do a

Survivor recap on the show thoughts. Oh all right? Staff writer Sarah Sarah. I did watch Survivor last night. My boyfriend is super fan. He does have a whole like fantasy d off some sort where he vote. He like picked all these people, which I feel like is so unfair to pick people because he did it a couple nights ago already before it even premiered, and he had to pick just based off of looking at their profiles online.

And now like after the first episode he's like, oh, man, like that person is for sure probably gonna make it further, and I shouldn't have voted this person out right away and all that stuff. I didn't realize. Andrew was so into that showhoh, he loves it and he for so he literally when COVID happened a little behind the scenes, when COVID started to happen, so I believe like February twenty twenty is when everything started to like really

come out. But then March was when things shut down. And he had just had like a meeting at his office and then there was all this stuff in the news that was like everyone needs to like stay home and isolate and blah blah blah, And he had a meeting and he was gonna then leave and go off to a casting for Survivor and addition, no way, but

it got canceled because of COVID. So there was a point where he was going and oh, my God, and I told him, I was like, baby, you should get on there, like you really really should.

The problem is that Andrew is not a performer. When a camera gets put in his face, he can't act natural like and I told him, I was like, because I'll ask him to do something funny, like he'll do something really funny and I'll get my phone out to like post it on my Instagram story er and he won't do it again He's like, no, I can't. And that's just like his personality. He just doesn't really love like

public speaking. He doesn't love being on camera, and that's totally fine, but I really thought that he would be willing to get over that to be on Survivor because he loves it so much. So anyways, he would do so good. I guess this will maybe be a little bit of a spoiler real quick if you have not watched last night's Survivor, so maybe we're going to end the podcast with this, So if you haven't watched it in your Survivor fan maybe turn it off at this point. But I will say that

last night was interesting. I was very shocked by the team that won both of the challenges, and I was not or a second shock that they got rid of Jaalinski because he was I mean, you could tell right off the bat that he was not going to be a team player, or that he gave up right away. I think Tevin, if that's how you say his name, is one of my favorites. I think he's going to go far.

I also think the girl who they were calling like a princess or Barbie or whatever, I think she has like a lot of manipulation that she will probably use to her benefit. Her name is Venus, and I don't know all of the cast very well because they were comparing her to somebody else that I don't know, but I think she might go far. And then also the guy who is a real estate agent and I can't think of his name. He was on the losing team, que or Burdette or something cue maybe.

Anyways, this is probably very boring to you if you do not listen to or watch Survivors. So that's going to be a quick little wrap up. There was Survivor. But Sarah, feel free to send your thoughts and if you want to chat about it at anytime, and keep on sending your emails. And we still have a few that we haven't gotten to, so we'll get to all of those tomorrow. Ryan Show at KDIWB dot com.

Thank you so much for listening. Tomorrow's the last day with Jenny and Drake, so if you are just dying to get one in with just the two of us, to make sure you send it by tomorrow. Please all right, We will be back tomorrow with the Friday version of the Minnesota Goodbye.
