Hello , all this is Dr Shimina of the podcast Dark Matters . I know it's been a while since I've recorded an episode , but I just want to say first and foremost that I owe you all an apology .
I really did take a much needed break from this relationship of podcasting and I realized that , instead of communicating that to you all , I just sort of ghosted , and for that I am truly sorry , and I know this sounds pretty cliche .
It's not you , it's me , but in the last several months I have shifted a lot of my focus and energy towards writing my book , so stay tuned for that , which I believe and I hope I'll be finished next year . And , of course , I'm continuing to be a student in this field of psychology , while also deepening my work seeing my clients in my private practice .
When I first started with this podcast , it was at the height of the pandemic in 2020 . And my main focus was , and still is , to educate and help you all become more psychologically robust , become self-aware in your waking life . Me , like most of you , I think , have become exhausted with work , life and the challenges and demands that are happening in this world .
I mean , some of you may even be too overwhelmed to even slow down . But what I'm aware of in my having my break is that I'm clear that we all need to learn how to slow down so that we can figure out where we have choice , agency and power to make changes in our lives that benefit you .
So I chose in the last several months to do less , to slow down and take time to reflect on my life . You know there will always be unpredictable circumstances that arise , but the path forward doesn't always have to be a struggle where you're feeling like you have to do more to keep up .
So , with that being said , in my time of slowing down , I've thought about it and reflected that I'll be putting together , in a new year , a series of podcasts focusing on learning how to break through unhealthy cycles , and also I will do a series focusing on men and masculinity , understanding healthy and unhealthy patterns of men and also just the psychology of men
