Live on Sky News Australia. This is to Nika di Giorgio. Hello and welcome to the show. Coming up tonight. The PM concludes his Kentiqi tour of China, but did he actually achieve anything? The UK's ridiculous plan to lower the voting age to sixteen and calls by the Greens for Australia to follow suit. And the White House addresses concerning

rumors about Donald Trump's health. But first tonight. Federal Parliament returns next week for the first time since the Albanesi government was re elected, and g I think we are in for a showdown. Our electricity bills have risen again. There's still a cost of living crisis. Our national security is under threat. The US wants answers, the alliance is fracturing,

and it's about time this Prime Minister was held to account. Firstly, of course, Anthony Aarbernesi is coming back from his Kentiqui tour of China and questions need to be asked about what he actually achieved on his extended sightseeing tour. From being serenaded by the Chinese military band playing Aussie rock to the big banquets, the smiles and a bit of tourism on the side at the Great Wall and the Panda Park. It just makes you wonder what on earth

he was actually doing. I mean, what about taking back the Port of Darwin from the Chinese.

Speaker 2

Did the President express any objection to your plans about bringing the Port of Darwin back into Australian hands or any potential response that China might take to that.

Speaker 3

No, it wasn't rose.

Speaker 1

No, not important enough apparently to be raised with Shijingping. What about the live fire drills off our coast?

Speaker 4

Did you seek assurances that Australia would be better informed in future about the PLA's navy in Australian waters?

Speaker 1

And has China asserted its right to free navigation in those waters?

Speaker 3

Yes to the former. And secondly, in response, of course it was president She said that China engaged in exercises just as Australia engages in exercises.

Speaker 1

Oh well, that settles it, then, doesn't it? It was all above board. The coalition is again asking questions today. We don't know.

Speaker 5

If there was a serious discussion about the sale of the Port of Darwin. We know that the Chinese Communist Party leader in Gjping didn't listen to the Prime Minister's concern about the live firing exercises. We know there wasn't any breakthrough with the release of political prisons.

Speaker 1

So when you look on.

Speaker 5

Every sort of measure of those serious issues that needed to be discussed and resolved with China during this visit, it didn't kind of happen. But you know, romantic strolls along the Great Wall tick.

Speaker 1

Now, the handsome boy from Australia is so scared of offending China to its military intimidation, puniative tariffs and lack of investigation into the origins of COVID, and at the same time has been stronger in his condemnation of the United States. Beijing served up panda diplomacy this week and Albo fell for the red communist lights. Secondly, that brings

me to the elephant in the room. The Prime Minister still has not been able to secure a meeting with US President Donald Trump at a time when our alliance is being tested. Now we are in the middle of Operation Talisman Saber here in Australia, preparing our military and those of our closest allies for any future conflict with China, and Albo is cuddling up to Pandas and I thought these comments from a US Air Force official were very telling.

Speaker 6

What we're seeking is a world that is rule based order, where the Asia Pacific is safe and secure.

Speaker 1

And compare that with the optics of albow whining and dining with our greatest strategic threat all week, who could not give a toss about a rule based order. And it's now four meetings of course with China, and none with Donald Trump. Thirdly, of course, the cost of living crisis in this country remains. Our energy bills jump ten percent on July one, despite Labour telling us our bills would go down under the renewables only fantasy. Major renewables

projects are crumbling day by day. The sector is plagued by delays and cancelations, and it's causing irreparable self harm via an experiment of transmission lines, giant wind turbines, green hydrogen solar farms and batteries, and you and I are paying for it. Meanwhile, Big Australia is getting bigger arrival surge to over thirty three thousand in May. That was the highest May net arrival number on record, and if current trends continue, net permanent and long term arrivals could

reach almost six hundred thousand by December. I mean, where we got I put all these people? Treasury says Labour's target of building one point two million homes between twenty twenty four and twenty nine will not be met. So Labour's failed to deliver a single housing target, yet ramps up migration. Meanwhile, unemployment has risen, the RBA is unconvinced that inflation is under control, and Labour's solution to all this is a productivity talk fest next month, which brings

me to the fourth issue, tax reform. Now there's no doubt Labor is buttering us up. These leaked Treasury documents are rarely accidentally leaked, but according to leaked Treasury advice, Labor has been advised the budget cannot be fixed without raising taxes and cutting spending. Now we've been warning about Labour's excessive spending for some time, but this advice from Treasury would have been well known before we all went

to the polls. So it's all well and good for Labour to announce a productivity round table and use it by stealth for inevitable higher taxes. In fact four, what a Treasury boss Ken Henry told the National Press Club this week. Unless there is more spending discipline, there's only two options increase taxes or grow the economy faster.

Speaker 7

If we continue on that trajectory, as we said in two thousand and two, we will have no option but to raise taxes, and quite significantly, by several percentage points of GDP. So that's the other side of the budget story. Or cut spending or cut spending.

Speaker 1

And don't forget Labour's already leaving us with a trillion dollars of debt and the only way out is higher taxes or rapidly growing the economy. Labour has already started with super tax targeting unrealized gains, so let's see what's

next under the guise of a productivity roundtable. Then, of course, there are ongoing issues playing the childcare sector amid allegations of sexual abuse, the Envoys special report into anti Semitism, which looks set to sit on Albo's desk for months, and now we hear About's latest push to censor the Internet. Will soon to have to hand over our ID just

to do a basic Google search. So look, let's hope the Liberal Party are done with talking about themselves, bickering over gender quotas and preselection, and finally start holding this government to account well. The UK Labor Government has announced plans to allow sixteen and seventeen year olds to vote in general elections. Nothing screams you're a done of a party than wanting to lower the voting age just to get votes.

Speaker 8

I think it's really important that sixteen or seventeen year olds have the votes because they're old enough to go out to work, they're old enough to pay taxes, so to pay in, and I think if you pay in, you should have the opportunity to say what you want your money spent on.

Speaker 1

Where you want your money spent on. How much money does Keir Starmer think sixteen and seventeen year old earn. I don't know about you, but when I was working at the two dollars shop when I was sixteen, I was blowing my basic casual rate each week on food, movies, clothes and having fun and emphasis there on having fun,

which brings me to the main point. Sixteen year olds don't have the life experience, understanding of issues in the country and knowledge of the political system, and why would they You're trying to navigate your final exams, and the biggest issue you have to navigate is friendship groups and school crushes. Now, obviously that's not the case for every team, but you get the point. But just by giving them a vote doesn't mean that they're going to go and

try and understand how politics works. I mean, this is simply a way for left wing governments to rig the system and grab votes by getting more left wing voters in. Young people typically don't turn out like parties hope in elections as it is, and we certainly don't need a whole new class of left wing activists. So I'm sure it won't surprise you to hear that right on que the Greens here in Australia want the exact same. Senator Jordan's Steel John tweeted, great to see the UK lowering

the voting age to sixteen. The Greens reckon it's time for Australia to give sixteen and seventeen year olds the right to vote. I first introduced a private senator's bill to lower the voting age to sixteen back in twenty eighteen. Young people deserve to have a say over their future

at the ballot box. Let's get this done, and well, look, of course the Greens would love to get young lefties in and let's not forget some of the biggest political movements by teenagers around the world, like the student strikes for climate action.

Speaker 9

I just don't know if they're going to do anything. And I just I'm so concerned with the fact that if they're not going to change anything, and what's going to happen to human crime, What's going to happen to el what's going to happen to the whole world if no one does anything.

Speaker 1

Yeah, and they're all being encouraged by this other team.

Speaker 3

Old dare you hold?

Speaker 10

Dare you hold?

Speaker 11

Dare you?

Speaker 1

God? Help us? Please let kids be kids. Well, let's return out to the Prime Minister's China trip. He's due back in Australia later this evening. Now today, he released a statement saying this visit marks another important step in the Australia China relationship. A stable and constructive relationship with China is in Australia's national interest. We will cooperate where we can, disagree where we must, and engage in our national interest. And this is a line that is peddled out all week.

Speaker 3

We cooperate where we can, we disagree where we must, we disagree where we must. We'll cooperate where we can, disagree where we must, but engage in our national interest.

Speaker 1

Let's bring in liberal MP Aaron Violi. Now, Aaron, it's good to see you. Thank you very much for joining me on the show. The Prime Minister keeps repeating this line over and over, but what does he actually disagree with Beijing on.

Speaker 10

Hey, Danica, it's great to be with you, and it's a good question. There are significant advantages to our relationship with China, particularly economically, and I think it's important we always acknowledge that my community, it's a big tourism area, the Ara Valley, and obviously wine is a big part

of my community, so there is benefits economically. But we should never sell out our country or our national interests, and we need to stand firm and we've seen this week that it appears the Prime Minister has not done that. When it comes to the Port of Darwin. We know that he rushed out that announcement during the campaign by ringing the radio station to get ahead.

Speaker 1

Of Peter Dutton's announcement.

Speaker 10

So we need to see real tangible action when it comes to the Port of Darwin and those live fire exercises. What we don't know is did he address with the Jijiping not just the circumnavigation and the exercises, but also the notification Virgin Airlines private commercial Airlines had to notify Australian officials about that happening. So there's a lot that he hasn't given us detail on. You obviously enjoyed the pandas paid homage to GoF Whitlam's idol We're going on

the Great Wall. It was a bit of a tourism into his trip, which really was indulged in, as my colleague Senator Patterson said, But he hasn't given us any details on those tough conversations that need to be had.

Speaker 1

No, and judging by the press conferences, he has pushed time and time again by the reporters. But it's like he couldn't even say boo to Shijing Ping. So let's see what happens when Parliament resumes next week. I'm sure the opposition will take him to task. Now I want to ask you about the unemployment rate. It's risen to four point three percent for the month of June from four point one percent. That's the highest it's been in three and a half years. Treasurer Jim Chalmers today blamed

external factors for the increase and Donald Trump's tariffs. Have a listen.

Speaker 6

There is a real sense that this volatility and unpredictability and uncertainty is really a defining and an ongoing feature of the global economy, and our own economy is not immune from that.

Speaker 1

Aaron Labour love to blame everything on external factors, but this happens when electricity bills are through the roof, when red tape and I our laws make it impossible for employers. You've got unions with their fingers in every pie. Why would you want to go into business right now in the country? Were you shocked by the figures?

Speaker 10

The figures were very concerning And as you said, Danika, this is classic Jim Charmers. If you watch and listen to his economic narrative over the last three and a half years, everything that is good in the economy, whenever there's a great number, it's because of the inverted commas, sarcasm, brilliance of Jim Charmers and Anthony Alberizi. And every time something goes wrong it's external factors or he blames the former government. He does not take responsibility for any of

the challenges that we face. But these numbers are concerning when you overlay this with the most growth that we've had in the jobs market in the last three years has been a non market sector jobs around eighty three percent. I believe the private sector just doesn't have the confidence to invest. And as you said, there's many factors, higher economic energy prices, industrial relations. Businesses are up not prepared to invest in the private market and that's leading this

softness in the job figures. And when I speak to community, you know, small businesses, large businesses in my community, they're just not sure what the future holds, and they have no confidence that this government has any solutions at the real source level to the economic challenges that we face.

Speaker 1

No, very very clear, aaron I mentioned. Of course, Parliament returns next week for the first time since Labor was elected was re elected back in May. What is on the coalition's agenda.

Speaker 10

Well, some really important things that we need to address. And obviously we were all shocked and disgusted by the allegations that were made against a childcare worker here in Victoria. So the Government of forecasts that they're going to have a new piece of legislation around child safety, we will scrutinize that in great detail to make sure that he is actually going to make a tangible difference to keep children safe, and also make sure that it's implemented sooner

rather than later. We cannot afford to have a moment where symbolically it looks good and it doesn't actually make a difference. So that will be an important piece of legislation that we will scrutinize and work with the government if it is good legislation and look to strengthen it if we need to. Obviously the economy we've seen unemployment, but housing is another issue that we will look to

question the government on their plans. That leak document which I think we all know and we all think is really softening the Australian people up around the tax but also around the deficits and housing. You know, it's clear that they're going to completely miss the one point two million housing target, which is going to continue to push

prices up for housing. So we'll look to hold them to account when it comes to the economy and also housing, because as I said, they spin all the positives, but Jim Chalmers doesn't have any solutions for the Australian people.

Speaker 1

No, that's it. They haven't achieved not one housing target yet. Migration is rising and rising. A huge week ahead in Parliament. Aaron Violi, good to see you. Thank you very much for joining me on the show this evening. Really appreciate it. Well, it's seriously difficult to understand what Anthony Albanezi stands for

and who he represents. Now. One thing that really stuck out for me this week from his trip to China was that he stood in front of three flags at his press conferences, the Australian, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island of flags. I just think this is a bizarre image. You've got the leader of the country going to another country and standing in front of three flags when he's there to represent one country and that's Australia. Joining me now to discuss this and more is Warren Mundine, the

Indigenous Forum director at the Center for Independent Studies. Warren, thank you so much for joining me. You've even got the Aussie flag on your lapel. Right now.

Speaker 12

I'm not at the Center for Independent Studies anymore.

Speaker 1

Sorry, apologize?

Speaker 12

Did that's all right?

Speaker 6

Hell?

Speaker 12

Look, we have one national flag. We have one nation flag. The Torres Strada Islander flag is a flag for Tyres Straight Islanders. The Aboriginal flag. I'm an Aboriginal person. It is our flag, you know. I love that flag. I think it's brilliant. But we're all Australians. He's the Prime Minister of Australians. We have one national flag and that's the only flag that he should be standing with internationally

and even at home. Now he may have an event with Aboriginal people, sure, but or Greek people, other people. But we have one national flag and that's what we should be focusing on.

Speaker 1

Did you think it was strange seeing that the image of him at the press conferences. I mean, he's over there representing our country is in China, standing in front of three flags.

Speaker 12

Did you think the optics were just off, the obstacles was off, but also the sentiment was off. You know what really makes me angry is like those people who live in Brunswick and they have little signs on their doors saying, oh we live on stolen land. Well my argument is, if you live on stolen land, give the bloody land back and stop virtuals the government. We have

a lot of problems in Australia at the moment. We've seen that the problems in regional remode Australian regard the crime rates we're seeing about it, unemployment, rates of services, education and everything like that. If he was fair dicome about the flag and everything like that, he would actually be doing something about it.

Speaker 1

But they're not.

Speaker 12

That's what makes me even wilder. One that's an insult. He should be out there standing out there under the Australian flag and that's it. We've got our one national flag and we're all Australians. That's our flag. He should be not going out there virtually singing and actually doing nothing. All he did was the voice and did nothing else.

Speaker 1

Well, I just think it's identity politics on steroids. But my concern is, realistically, is this ever going to change the Coalition pledge? You remember that was one of their policies was should Peter Dunton be elected, that he would only stand in front of one flag. But Labor loved the identity politics. They love that these sorts of things that there are. Realistically, nothing's going to change.

Speaker 12

Because the diverting from the real issue the relationship is, We've got to get jobs in average communities. We've got to get health services moving, we've got to get kids to school, we've got to get them educated and get them through universities. We've got to get people into have an economic future for themselves and their families and safe communities. Little the crime rates and everything that's happening in these communities,

and that's the real issue. So but rather than doing that, why don't I just stand in front of the free flags. That's where just show how good I am.

Speaker 1

Exactly whare are the priorities? Now, I've got to share this one with you. Council bureaucrats on Victoria's Mornington Peninsula have revolted against emotion that would see the Australian flag make the most prominent position on official documents, instead arguing that spin doctors they did the last word to decide if it was culturally safe. Now, I'm going to show you this example of what one of the flyers looks like.

Right now, it's got the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander flags, and then you've got one representing intersex groups like gays, lesbians, a trans community, I mean, give me a break, seriously, but here's the thing. An updated flag policy to be considered by the Council next week include the clause that gives the Shires Communications Team the last word on deciding whether or not to actually include the Australian flag in

printed material for diverse communities, including Aboriginal communities. Where do we even start with this?

Speaker 12

This is just a joke. It's something it's never heard of, such nonsense. You know what they hate us. This is the same we have every year annually about Australia Days. We should be all coming together and be proud of this nation. This nation is the best nation in the world. Sorry Donald Trump. It is the best it is and it is because we've brought all these different people from

all over the world. And we have our indigenous people, yes, but we've brought all these other people with millions of them here and they've worked hard and they've made this world, this country, a better place, and we're building this incredible democracy and liberal democracy of freedoms and treating everyone equal. And then we have these clowns. You know, they said, oh, look it's trigger.

Speaker 13

You know, it's a trigger that me.

Speaker 1

Come on, if you're upset about that.

Speaker 12

What happens if you see the Japanese flag? You crying and rolling around the ground everywhere. For God's sake, grow up, bluddy. This is Australia. Do your job, look at the rates and rubbish and servicing the people of y area and making sure it's got a nice art gallery and a library and everything like that, rather than rolling around in the grass triggered by the Australian flag.

Speaker 13

Give me a right.

Speaker 1

Oh, it's just ridiculous your spot on. Go back to Rhodes rates and rubbish. I'm sick of these councils meddling in politics and affairs. It's just absolutely ridiculous. Or and my dad. Good to see you as always. Thank you and as I said, I love that pin on your lapel. It's absolutely perfect, so thanks for bringing it. You're an Aussie light the rest of us. Thank you so much more,

and good to see you for coming up. After the break, my panel will join me to discuss whether it's time for Mark Latham to quit politics once and for all. That's next, Welcome back. Well. Details of former Labor leader Mark Latham's personal life have been made public this week and it is very messy, but some of it relates to him allegedly taking COVID photos of female colleagues in New South Wales Parliament, where he then made critical remarks about their appearance. Here's the latest.

Speaker 14

The former partner of Mark Latham, Natalie Matthews, alleges he borrowed twenty thousand dollars from her on four occasions without promptory payment. The Daily Telegraph is reporting the former Federal Labor and New South Wales One Nation leader sent an invoice to Matthews where he threatened to throw her possessions in a dam and invoiced her for accommodation at his house. The businesswoman and Liberal Party member has applied for an

AVO against mister Latham. She alleges he engaged in a sustained pattern of abuse against her and forced her into degrading sexual acts. He denies the allegations. Questions have been raised about whether mister Latham should have declared the payments on his parliamentary register. State MPs are required to declare loans and gifts exceeding five hundred dollars, but they did not need to disclose money owed to a relative, which includes a de facto partner. Mister Latham posted on x

to say the invoices were an inside joke. He said Matthews used to joke if we ever broke up, I would throw her stuff in the dam on my property on the joke invoice. Yes, that's still an in joke. Then he poked fun at the journalist who wrote the story. He said, I can guarantee you in her contact with me, Matthews was way ahead financially, miles ahead, he said. As

for my parliamentary declarations, they're entirely in order. Earlier this week, it was revealed mister Latham had taken photos of some of his female parliamentary colleagues commenting on their weight and age, had sexed it Matthews while sitting in the Parliamentary chamber, and had allegedly used his parliamentary office to record a sex tape.

Speaker 1

Jomie now Is Skye News contributor Tina McQueen and former New South Wales police minister David Elliot. High to both of you, thank you for joining me. Look, Tina, goodness mate, is it time now for Mark Latham to leave politics altogether? The gift that keeps on giving, I know. Look I'm not sure about that.

Speaker 15

I'm a bit of a you know, I don't really not interested in all them. What people do in their videoms, I couldn't care les, But the photographs of Susan Carr and others I find really objectionable. Susan is a wonderful, wonderful person, highly intelligent, and great.

Speaker 1

Asset to the Upper House. I think that was disgraceful. He apologized.

Speaker 15

She graciously accepted his apology. But look, I'm not going to defend Mark Latham in any way, shape or form.

Speaker 1

But I had a call from a.

Speaker 15

Journalist today wanting me to confirm something he'd been told which.

Speaker 1

Was utterly outrageous.

Speaker 15

So there are some miss truths and exaggerations out there about Mark. I'm not saying all of it, but in this particular case, I know it's one hundred percent fabrication. So I think everyone's sort of milking off the story now. But look, let the public judge next election when he's up.

Speaker 1

Yeah, good point, But I think got a couple of years less. Yeah, he's still got I think he's got six years left, so I mean, who knows. Yeah, it's a long time. And look, I agree with you I think whatever goes on in his private life not my business, nobody's business, but I thought it was interesting. David the acting New South Wales Liberal leader, Damien Tudorhope, came out yesterday. He could have used it as an opportunity to cut

ties with Mark Latham. Instead he said that he would be happy to work with him and get his support. Obviously the Liberals need it. If this was any other workplace, Mark Latham would have been sacked already. Why are the Libs in your South Whales so scared?

Speaker 2

It's very disappointing. I mean because at the end of the day, everybody in Parliament gets tird with this brush. And the tragedy is that when you go into public life in twenty twenty five, there is no private life. I mean I've had I had private investigators out the front of my house for weeks because people thought that I was up to no good during COVID and I was having parties and the like. But this has brought

the entire parliament and distribute I'm very disappointed. I wish Mark Speakman was not on leave because he would not be treating this issue the same way that Damian Teudehab is I think Damien Chudehape needs to review his life, which and I want to know, of course, why Mark has only apologized to Susan Carter and not to the other women that he's insulted and Lennie pet Noos to

to to Rose Jackson, to to Penny Sharp. I mean, I know all of these women very well and they don't deserve to be treated the way that that Mark has treated. And I think and Damien Tudap is essentially hand Pitt who gets an apology when he said that when he arranged for when he arranged for Mark to make an apology to Susan Carter, and that's that's just not on and it's we've got a women problem in the Liberal party where it's not going to be making things easy.

Speaker 15

I didn't realize that, and that's disgraceful damon to you hope to do that and really disappoints me that he would do that.

Speaker 1

Yeah, I mean one hand, he came out was strong against Mark Latham, but on the other hand he could have used it to cut ties and he didn't yesterday. It's just it's it's very very weak.

Speaker 15

Behave to speaker should come out of his holiday or whatever.

Speaker 1

Well, it's strong enough to get up.

Speaker 2

The door's been damaged so badly that it does justify him coming in. I mean, we've all been on holidays when we shouldn't have, you know. But he, you know, when you're in the leadership position like this, and I know Mark well enough to know he will be horrified. Not only will be horrified at what's happened and the way his colleagues are being treated, but I reckon he'll be horrified the way Damian tu tapes will Well.

Speaker 1

I don't know that. David. He's got to speak up. He's got to speak up. No great, Look, let's move on. The UK government has announced plans to allow sixteen and seventeen year olds to vote in general elections. Nothing Screens, you're a done of a party than having to lower the voting age. But the Greens want it here now. The Senator Jordan steel John says, great to see the UK lowering the voting age. It's time for Australia to follow suit. Tina, sixteen seventeen year olds, what do you think?

Speaker 10

Oh?

Speaker 15

Of course the Greens wanted that's that's their base. Look, it's crazy, you know, so many things they can't do at sixteen, but it should not be something they should be able to do.

Speaker 1

It's ridiculous. What next ten twelve? Crazy? We don't left wing alabus? Yeah, yeah, you know what do you think, David?

Speaker 2

Well, the country is that have got sixteen year old voting are not the countries that necessarily we want emulate. And my view is you shouldn't be able to vote until you're of adult age. And we've society has said that you can join the army at eighteen, or you can certainly get deployed at eighteen. You pay tax were you're responsible for your tax obligations at eighteen, and I think you're just a little bit more mature at eighteen. But yeah, this is a desperate vote grab from the left.

W and the next I wanted at fourteen, Well, I.

Speaker 1

Mean we're going to have a Greta Thumberg's voting next, you know, that sort of climate catastrophes of teenagers. This is my certain concern. Now, look, I don't profess to be an expert in art. Let me just say, but can someone please explain this to me? A highly controversial bright blue sculpture depicting a mythical megafauna creature known by locals as the Blue Blob, has been unveiled in the center of Mount Gambia in South Australia, with a price

tag of one hundred and thirty six thousand. Tina, look, I thought it was a pregnant at kinda kidder. I don't know what that is, but one hundred and thirty six grand on that first look I thought was something very normal.

Speaker 6

Yeah, but not.

Speaker 15

The ridiculous amount of money to be spent. Yeah, honestly, I'm sure there's going to be lots of complaints to counsel about this. It's crazy money. If it's something that doesn't really represent the area, it's something in your imagination, you know exactly.

Speaker 1

Well, it's art's up to it. Well, art is up to interpretation, that they say.

Speaker 15

But that when there's potholes and all sorts of things in it y area, you want those vixed first.

Speaker 1

Absolutely. What do you think of this? Well, what it is?

Speaker 2

I think local councils, the local government do have a role in the arts. I mean, Jeremy Barthurs, the Newcastle City Council has done a great lot of work over many years making sure that Newcastle is scene is an art center. But one hundred and thirty six thousand dollars is a ridiculous amount of money for a council to pay when I'm.

Speaker 1

Pretty sure that there would be a bridge or.

Speaker 2

A pothole in the LGA that needs to be addressed. So I mean, if I were spending that percentage, a smaller percentage of that money on promoting local artists, community artists, fantastic. It's very appropriate and all the best to the mayor and the CEO of the council, but this is probably going to have a lot of constituents turn their head.

Speaker 1

Where are the priorities on a blue blob? For goodness sake? Please? Now, A Sydney dad has failed in his legal bid to force his employer to let him work from home twice a week so he could help take care of his school age children. Sydney father, Paul Collins, a technical specialist, lodge an application with the Fair Work Commission seeking flexible working arrangements, citing the need to care for his eight year old and ten year old and a need for

work life balance. The Fair Work Commission disagreed. Tina, Look, I understand a work life balance, but come on, what does he expect, seriously, go to work and feedure kids.

Speaker 15

You know, you can't have it all. It's this whole stay at home thing isn't absolute.

Speaker 7

Conn.

Speaker 15

I think they've made the right decision and he should go back to work and not pick and choose when he wants to stay at home and suppose they care.

Speaker 1

For the kids. But the fact he took at the Fair Work Commission as well, you know, I mean, doesn't that put a red mark against your name from the beginner You're not meant to but you know, come, well, seriously.

Speaker 2

Well, I think I think you're right to think. I mean, at the end of the day, I'm agnostic about work from home. I've done it, I've got staff to do it. It seems to work in certain circumstances. But he lost me on two days for work life balance. Yeah, I mean, if it was work life balance, I'd say to my boss, I have to work from home five days a week because clearly I'm not getting enough life.

Speaker 1

No.

Speaker 2

Yeah, I think the Commission made the right decision on this. Unfortunately, that probably for the legitimate candidates for work from home have been put back because of this decision, because the prese has been said, so he has not done anybody any favors.

Speaker 1

No, he certainly hasn't. I don't know why people keep complaining. For goodness sake, he got to work. You know, what do you do? It is, It's the way of life. Tina A Queen David Elliott, have a great weekend. Thank you so much for both joining me. I appreciate it well. Coming up after the break, Israel apologizes for a strike on Garza's only Catholic church. Plus the White House addresses rumors about Donald Trump's health. That's next, welcome back.

Speaker 11

Well.

Speaker 1

Israel says it deeply regrets it's a deadly strike on Gaza's only Catholic church which killed three people. A spokesperson for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanya who says Israel deeply regrets that astray ammunition hit Gaza's Holy Family Church. Every innocent life lost is a tragedy. Israel is investigating the incident and remains committed to protecting civilians and holy sites. Joining me now is Joel Bernie from the Australia Israel and

Jewish Affairs Council. Thank you so much for John joining me. Joel. A terrible accident.

Speaker 16

It appears so Danika, it appears in the preliminary investigation that an errant fragment from a tank shell by accident has hit the only Catholic church in Gaza, causing damage to the building and also the loss of three innocent civilians. So through that preliminary investigation, we've had statements from the Prime Minister's Office in the Foreign Ministry expressing a regret over it, confirmation that Israel does not intend target these

type of sites. And we'll continue the investigation with a more thorough, in depth look into things, and once they come to the conclusion of that investigation, I have no doubt that the results will be published.

Speaker 1

Yeah. Look, absolutely will be monitoring that one. Now back home now, I want to talk to you about the anti Semitism report. The Education Minister Jason Clair this week signaled that the government won't be moving quickly on the recommendations from Jillian Siegel's Anti Semitism report. This is what he said.

Speaker 4

We're considering it carefully.

Speaker 7

We've got to consult as part of that.

Speaker 12

I want to see what the Special Envoy on Islamophobia has to say as well.

Speaker 7

I think that's fair. I think that's the.

Speaker 1

Right thing to do joh. Once again we see the conflating of issues. But what is labor waiting for me? And have they not seen what's been happening in this country for almost two years.

Speaker 16

So, you know, just watching that clip over again and I'm well across what the Minister of Education has had to say over the past four eight hours, I still can't make heads or tails of it. So there are two very stark issues that we as the Jewish community have with mister Claire's position on this.

Speaker 13

The first is the delay. We have obviously seen an exponential spike in anti semitism since the events of October seven in this country. Multiple synagogues being burnt down, houses of community leaders being targeted, childcare centers, you name it, it's happened in this country when it comes to antisemitism.

But for somehow or rather, there is an undue delay waiting for another report to come down before even the Education Minister is going to review what was a very comprehensive and detailed report released by Jillian Siegel the anti Semitism on Boy last week. So the delay within itself is perplexing. But again, this conflation between anti Semitism and Islamophobia is not only grossly inaccurate, it's grossly unfair to both Jews and Muslims.

Speaker 16

There's no doubt that Islamophobia is an issue in Australia in some sectors, but the issues of Islamophobia have nothing to do with antisemitism. So the idea that we would need to wait and see what the envoy, the homophobic envoy had to say about the antisemitism, antisemitism or report

is bitterly disappointing and thoroughly perplexing. I will add that any political sleuth would sort of question as to whether or not mister Claire's comments are at odds with the Prime Minister, because they're definitely at odds with the Prime Minister's appointed antisemitism.

Speaker 1

On boy, Yeah, that is a really good point and just a shame. Now it looks like this report is going to be sitting on the Prime Minister's desk for months now. Meanwhile, once again we see the Australian Jewish community targeted time and time again, week in week out. Job Bernie, we have to leave it there. Really appreciate your time as always, Thanks very much for Johnny Show. US President Donald Trump has been diagnosed with a vein disorder.

The White House disclosed of seventy nine year old's medical information after photos showed Trump with swollen ankles.

Speaker 17

In the effort of transparency, the President wanted me to share a note from his physician with all of you today. In recent weeks, President Trump noted mild swelling in his lower legs. Venus Doppler ultrasounds were performed and revealed chronic venus insufficiency AB nine, in common condition, particularly in individuals over the age of seventy.

Speaker 1

Joining me now is Sky News contributor Bo Davidson. Both thank you for joining me on the show. The White House says, this is a common condition. What more do we know about it?

Speaker 18

Yeah, it is pretty common. That's my understanding of it. You know, Trump is seventy nine years old. It's called chronic venous insufficiency, which is when the circulation in the blood to the legs doesn't, you know, act properly. However, it's not a bad condition. It doesn't mean thrombosis. It doesn't mean that there's sort of some sort of condition that affects the heart or the arterial veins and the things of that sort that are going to the brain

and the heart. So it's a common condition and it is treatable. And I think you saw Caroline Levitt deliver that level of transparency from the podium, which is a lot more that I can say for the predecessor. Joe Biden is someone whose mental and physical condition were always in doubt, always in question, And I do have to question those doctors that treated Joe Biden, and I'd like for them to be subpoena to know are those doctors

where they coerced to lie about Joe Biden's helf. This kind of transparency that we're seeing from Caroline Levitt and from Donald Trump, I think is amazing. It's what Americans want. We want to know what his health is like. We didn't get that in the past administration. So you know, kudos to Caroline Levitt for nipping this in the bud, addressing the situation and letting us know the president is

in basically perfect health. He just had a couple of swollen ankles, and that means Verico's fans not a big deal.

Speaker 1

Oh look, absolutely better to be transparent unlike the previous administration. Now, bo Elon Musk has mocked Donald Trump's claim that files relating to the federal investigation into Jeffrey Epstein are a hoax. He's taken to X to say, Wow, amazing that Epstein killed himself and Galaane is in a FED prison for a hoax. Now, this is, of course, in response to Trump's attempts to deflect questions about the Epstein files by

casting doubt on the authenticity of the documents. But bo just today, Trump says he's asked Attorney General Pam Bondi to produce any and all pertent grand jury testimony. So what does all this mean?

Speaker 18

Well, you know, Deniker, I was at the Turning Point USA Student Action Summit last weekn in Tampa, Florida. This is where a lot of young people, gen Z people come to learn from the issues of the day and from Megan Kelly to Tucker Carlson. This was the talk of the conference. People were not willing to let this go and I think for good reason. And the reason is the following is that Donald Trump promised transparency. We just talked about it with his medical condition, right, delivered

the truth to the American people. If you've teased something like Pam Bondy has, oh, we've got thousands of hours of childborn. We've got these ledgers, and then you don't deliver them. It makes you look non transparent. Hillary Clinton deleted thousands and thousands of emails. You can't just delete

this problem away. And so I believe when you look at the magabase, those who have supported Donald Trump, they want this same level of transparency, and they deserve it, because if Pam Bondy said, both in private and in public, there are thousands of hours of tapes, there's got to be a way of protecting the victims' identities while also saying, okay, are there clients in there? And then how about his accountant, how about his personal lawyer? Why are victims having to

sue in civil court for information that we need? So I think Trump is right to nip this thing in the butt, as we just said, and make Pambody release the unsealed grand jury testimony because we deserve that, and let the American people make their minds up. If there's nothing there, let us see it, but don't tease us with something and not deliver on it. I think Pam Bondy and Donald Trump have a responsibility to everyone, to the American people, to deliver this information well.

Speaker 1

I've got to say, even here in Australia, we want to know what's in those files. So hopefully it's all released.

Speaker 12

Now.

Speaker 1

You mentioned Joe Biden's health earlier. The House Oversight Committee Chairman James Coma says that former Vice President Kamala Harrah and former First Lady Jill Biden should be subpoenaed in the panel's investigation into former President Joe Biden's mental capacity while in office. Bo you know, I suffice to say Americans deserve the truth about who knew what about Biden's mental capacity. They do.

Speaker 18

They deserve the truth about Epstein, they deserve the truth about JFK. They deserve the truth about Trump's health, and they deserve the truth about Joe Biden's health. And here's the problem. When you look at subpoenas with Jill Biden, COMMONL. Harris that should happen. Comer is onto something here. I think he's absolutely right to do it because the great doctor Jill Biden, Okay, she's not a medical doctor, will put that aside for a second, but she is a doctor.

They made a point to tell us that time and time again she knew about her husband's mental health. I almost hold Jill Biden more accountable for this than anybody else because she knew it, but she was so greedy, so power hungry to keep her husband in power. She said nothing, she did nothing. And the same is true of Kamla Harris. Surely she knew about this, Surely she knew she was slipping, but she was the heir apparent.

Right if Joe Biden became the president again, it would have fallen to Cakamon Harris because he might have resigned at some point, and Kamon Harris would have been the first female president of the United States. So you see both women here, and these positions were so greedy for power that they said and they did nothing. I want those doctor subpoena of Joe Biden's. I want Jill subpoena, and

I want Kamala subpoena. And I believe truly that the conspiracy to keep Biden afloat, to keep this information under wraps, is as vile and as twisted and as sick as the as the effort to keep Donald Trump from staying in office or getting a second term. I believe it's honestly that bad, and the autopen as well, don't forget the autopen. I believe that's equally bad.

Speaker 1

Absolutely there is no doubt they own you and even corroborated this big cover up. Bo Davidson, good to say, thanks for joining me.

Speaker 18

My pleasure is always.

Speaker 1

Back in a moment with the winners and losers of the way, including a CEO caught in an awkward position with a colleague at a Coldplay concert. That's next, Welcome back. It is that time of the week where we sought the winners from the losers, and helping me to do that as always is Pru McSwain from Verb Communications. Prop Friday, Good to see how you've got two parts for your

winners this week. Your first winner are two inspirational Aussie female golfers, Grace Kim and Minji Lee, who've both won majors.

Speaker 11

And the dream comes true Emmy and Grace Kim.

Speaker 2

N and Juliue battles the Texas.

Speaker 1

Womb and he and now she's a three time major champ. And your other winner is golfing champ Scott Scheffler, who spoke about the importance of family.

Speaker 19

If my golf ever started affecting my home life or whatever affected the relationship I have with my wife or with my son. You know that's gonna be the last day that I play out here for a living. You know, this is not the be all and all. This is not the most important thing in my life. And that's why I wrestle with why is this so important to me? Because you know, I would much rather be a great father than I would be a great golfer.

Speaker 1

I like his honesty.

Speaker 4

I love it, and I love the fact that, you know, he said he wouldn't put his career ahead of his family, which is just so nice and refreshing to have that kind of approach, even though of course he's a multi millionaires. I suppose that would help. But I just loved the fact that this guy really is a real deal. And of course the two girls, it's just lovely being a really crappy golfer.

Speaker 1

That I am.

Speaker 4

You know that pressure they must have been on to make those pas, those shots, and I just think, wow, good on them. It was just a bit of a nice highlight to a really ordinary week.

Speaker 1

I completely agree, and I just really found Scott Scheffler's honesty very refreshing, because you know, he's got so much money, all the money in the world, but you know, without love and family means it means absolutely nothing. So I think good on him. Well for my winter, I'm actually sticking with your sporting theme. I'm going with Donald Trump joining Chelsea on stage after they took out the feet for World Cup World Cup final. I have a look at this. I mean, imagine Joe Biden try to do that.

He won't even be able to stand up. No what the hell was going on?

Speaker 4

But everyone loves a winner, and politicians I love the way they love associating themselves with sporting teams, but of course ours. You know, Albanezi was nowhere to be seen at the recent contest the State of Origin because he.

Speaker 1

Knew he was going to be booed.

Speaker 4

You know, he knew that that guy was going to get But Trump obviously just basking in it.

Speaker 1

And he's a winner. And twelve month anniversary as well of the assassination attempt, so what a difference twelve months fakes, But looks we're good on him.

Speaker 6

Now.

Speaker 1

Your loser this week got the Prime Minister and his holiday in China? Was it a kiki trip? I was the honeymoon?

Speaker 4

Maybe it was a a pre honeymoon. Maybe you know, look, we all understood what was going on in this was a grooming propaganda exercised by the community Communist Chinese. And you think that he had no idea or he was a willing participant in this, which is the most horrifying thing that you know, they played him so well because they understood his character, the ego that he has, the fact that since he's won, he's just in another orbit

where he just think, he thinks he's infallible. And you know, this whole business about Powderfinger and Paul Kelly smile on his face. I mean, it was quite sickening and sad to see that he's become such a sickophan and putting us.

Speaker 1

In danger, you know.

Speaker 4

And the thing is we all know that they will weaponize trade. Absolutely we upset them in any way and don't play ball. You know, the handsome boy has been wooed, so you know, so well by more idiot as well.

Speaker 1

All it takes pro apparently, is a banquet and a bit of the Chinese military band playing Osie songs and you've got Alvo, You've got and he's playing to it that the red Communist lights of China they're under you know, he's under their spell. I mean, look, it was fascical, really etically and in all of his comments as well in the press conference as he held what did he actually raise? Was he serious? Because it just to me it was like he was scared to say boom yep.

Speaker 4

I mean he was done like a dinner at the banquets.

Speaker 6

Wasn't he?

Speaker 1

And you know, you're just like a dumpling.

Speaker 4

You know, he did the b peaking dark in terms of trying to bring up anything icky and nasty. I mean it was just cringe worthy. And you know he's had this holiday. I know he's going to come back and bask in it all. We just need one thing to happen that will upset the Chinese and their true colors will show again.

Speaker 1

Well, look, Parliament resumes next week, so let's see how he goes under pressure. And I'm sure that the coalition, the opposition, they'll certainly be taking him to task as they should be. Now look my loser of the week, Now this is hilarious. The CEO of an AI software company, astronomer. His name is Andy Byron. He's my loser of the week because he was caught allegedly having an affair with his HR manager on the kiss camp at a Coldplay concert. Have a look at the o.

Speaker 4

Either they're having an affair.

Speaker 1

Or they're just shut. Oh dearie me. I mean, you think you're safe at a Coldplay concert, prove but apparently you are not if you get caught on the kiss camp. And here's a friendly reminder on social media. This is how you can go to a concert when you're caught in stick. This is a Taylor Swift who called in sick and went to work. So this is what you do. You put a blanket on your hand with the parraph studies, you go in cognito. That's how you do it. But

geez with your HR manager or boy. I bet his wife's not happy.

Speaker 4

Well, she apparently within half an hour took her name, changed her name back to her maiden name.

Speaker 1

And I think the.

Speaker 4

Divorce proceedings have already done. I mean, what karma is a bit, isn't it? But you know, if you want to play up, what a despicable thing. And I just think it's wonderful that he got caught that this poor woman, you know, and when you think about it, it was an expensive he flew it. What is a cold Play ticket much have cost.

Speaker 1

One hundreds of dollars, Like he's standing in a box. Yeah, I reckon he's in a fivate box that's probably thousands of dollars.

Speaker 4

And then clearly had the expensive hotel, the champagne, the whining and dining, and now the divorce.

Speaker 1

It's a very expensive. I hope it was worth it. I hope it was worth it. Now it's going to be very awkward around the office. Gee, well, well you think not because you say you're Karma. Karma will get you. Promxsween. Happy great weekend, see you next week. Thank you and thanks for your company. Are we back again seven pm on Sunday Night for Deneka and James. Steve Price is next. Good night,
