¶ Celebrating Two Years of Podcasting
Hi everyone and welcome to Dancing with Dragons , a podcast dedicated to Game of Thrones , house of the Dragon and the world of A Song of Ice and Fire , created by George R R Martin . My name is Manoa and I'm here , as always , with my co-host , tony , and we're here for a very special episode . We're celebrating two years of our podcast . That's right .
Our very first episode dropped this month , not exactly on this day , dropped on May 13th , two years ago and for the second year in a row , we completely forgot to celebrate on the actual day . I don't know why we keep forgetting about this . We're sorry , but it's true .
Dancing with Dragons Passion where , once again , passion , again passionate about our own party and at this point it's basically a tradition , like Tyrion , drinking and knowing things . But we're here now and we've got something fun coming To mark the occasion .
We're doing another Q&A special , answering your questions about Game of Thrones , house of the Dragon and beyond . Tony , how have these two years been for you ?
For me it seems it's gone by so quickly Thinking about it . We started the process of trying to create this podcast in November of 2022 . I DMed you and said what do you think about this ? And you're like , well , maybe I don't know , I don't think so . And then me going okay , I'm not going to pester her or keep asking . She said no .
And then , like four weeks later , I think , after you were on the podcast a third time , it went really well and I think people are like , wow , she's really good on the podcast . I said I think , well , we're going to have to , I have to figure out some way .
So then I I don't know what the message was that I sent you that made you go well , okay , let me think about it and then I should look that up . I should scroll all the way back to see what it said . For me it's been really
¶ LQ: Improvements made to the podcast you're most proud of?
fun , I think , about a question that we got . So we had a lot of questions submitted from friends and families and listeners and there's one that I just , if it's okay with you , I want to start off and answer really quick . It was submitted by grant , who is on instagram and he has a big uh ig page .
Actually , I think he passed over a hundred thousand followers or he's close to it . His handle is movie scenes period and shit , so sorry for the curse word there , but that's his handle . Uh , he actually sent a few questions , but this is the one that I'm going to start with .
He asked what improvements made to the pod since that first episode are you most proud of ? You know , I recently listened to the first podcast I don't know a few months ago Well , maybe a month ago and I actually was surprised that . I really thought we did well . It sounded pretty good .
The only thing I remember doing was that I took off the whole chunk of us talking about the pilot that didn't air . That was like five , eight minutes of us talking and then we actually made an episode about it , just dedicated to that topic .
The difference between now and then is that our conversations are more fluid and it's easier , and I remember editing our first 10 , 20 , and it would take me days because it was so much I had to edit , and now I can edit an episode in a few hours and that's a testament to us getting better as podcasters , knowing when to talk , knowing when to stop , being
more prepared .
Yeah , I agree , I mean , I was gonna . My mind immediately went back to the first episode as well , and how kind of , I don't want to say . We were overly prepared , because we were both weirdly overprepared but also underprepared . Like we came with too many notes .
We wanted to say everything , everything and we wanted to include every like tiny little bit of behind the scenes trivia , every opinion on every like pixel on the screen , almost about that episode , about the first episode of game of thrones , and like I don't blame us because we both love that episode so much and it's so important in this episode game of thrones .
But I feel like now we got to a place where we kind of just know exactly what , like the rights , um , we don't go over the limits and also our attitudes . I think you were confident , I was a bit nervous , I think , uh , I think you can see more of a change from episode one . Yeah , and now , like you can see me change a lot .
If you go back and listen to the earlier episodes , then you come back and listen to our recent ones .
Yeah , by the time I started this podcast , I already had done 25 , 26 episodes of my first podcast called the Real Spotlight . So I was not a pro , but I went into this kind of knowing the ropes and you were more . This was just your fourth episode and now you're a co-host , and now you have to be ready every week or every other week .
So it was a totally different world for you and you went into it . You're doing great , I think , and I'm happy that you said yes . I always say that . But I realized inviting you to that third episode kind of something went off in my head . I go maybe I should do this . Maybe I should because I've been thinking about it . You know what kind of .
I want to do another podcast and I go well , I really want to do Game of Thrones .
Discussing the season one finale of House of the Dragon on the real spotlight confirmed that I needed you to be this uh , co-host here well , I'm glad I I love that like one thing between another and then eventually everyone podcasts and people are listening to it and hopefully
¶ LQ: If not Game of Thrones, what other show would you dedicate a podcast to?
enjoying yeah , let me segue to our next question is from gabriel or filmbooth on instagram , the friend of the podcast .
He will be a guest soon . His question is if not game of thrones , what other show would you dedicate a podcast to ? Now we've answered this in the past and I've said battle star galactica and you know you laugh at me I just know that's your favorite and that's like you .
you I don't mean to use this word in like an offensive way , obviously , but like you nerd out about as much much as Game of Thrones , almost so like I knew that that was going to be your pick that time .
So I have a different answer because I recently finished watching a show that renewed my love for this franchise , I guess . But let me , I'll let you answer first .
Okay , my pick is the same it's Good More Girls . I always have a lot to say on Good More Girls . I reference it very , very often . Storylines like lessons learned through Good More Girls quotes everything . So Good More Girls . I have a lot of opinions on Good More Girls .
When did that show Are you talking about ? Did they do like a not not a remake , but like a newer ?
yeah , they did like , not a new version of like the beginning of like the story .
They did a like a continuation like what are they doing now , kind of shows yeah , kind of like now how many years later was it ?
Maybe like 10 . It was , I think , almost 10 years later . Yeah , and I have opinions on the continuation as well . I don't like it , even though I love the original show . Yeah , get more girls , don't get me started , I'm not going to stop talking . So , get more girls . What ? Get me started , I'm gonna , I'm gonna , I'm not gonna stop talking .
So what's about you ? What's your new answer to any ?
uh , it would have to be star wars related because , you know , when it comes to you know , game of thrones , I mean star wars to me is so huge . It's been a part of my life since I was like four years old , and I'm already years old , uh , so it's been quite a while .
I always hesitated because the star wars fandom is so toxic that I wouldn't want to be associated with that . But now I'm like I don't care , like I you know , I could just delete , block , it's not gonna affect my life .
Well , you know , if somebody says something nasty about me on the internet , because who gives it rats behind , uh , but it's something I wouldn't just focus on one show , I would just do the whole world , because it covers kind of like a song of ice and fire . The the world is so ginormous . The books uh , have you ever read any star wars books ?
no no , okay , there's two that I really love it . One is called Lost Stars and the other one is called Bloodline . Bloodline focuses on Princess Leia Five years before the new Empire take over and Force Awakens , so you kind of get to see her . She's leaving the Senate Mon Mothra is still there . You get Han Solo still a smugglerler .
You get to hear about kylo ren and it's a very interesting story , very in-depth political adventure , all that stuff .
so it's really nice and that's something I would have loved to seen as a movie , but you can't do it because you couldn't recast anybody , like people would just freak out all right , let's , let's move on from that , because I'm , I , I'm , I feel like I'm I'm doing the podcast now of star wars so
¶ LQ: What movie/tv show defined your childhood?
wait , were you a fan of star wars as a kid , like did you grow up with it ?
because that makes me think of a question that we got from lewis , our friend , uh friend of the podcast . Lewis , at lulu reviews said what's a movie or show that defined your childhood ? Was that star wars for you ?
yeah , so star war . I remember watching um the my first star wars movie . I think I was five or six years old , so that was like 19 , mid 80s , um , so I kind of got lost in it . I remember my uncle buying the vhs tapes and he kind of left them at my brother's house and I just kind of wore out the VHS , just watching it over and over again .
Yeah , so you grew up with the Tutsi kind of yeah , yeah . That's fair . I think that you know why I do like Star Wars . I probably don't have that deep of an emotional attachment to it because I didn't grow up with it . I kind of got into it more as a teenager . For me , I think the movie or story that defined my childhood was definitely harry potter .
Um and uh , I like that lewis used the word um defined my childhood because that's the most accurate description of me with harry potter , like I grew up being like I am gonna turn into hermione kinshaw , like that is me , like I found like a person , like a role model , such a young age in her Hermione yeah , so she and Harry Potter , like the overall story
defined my childhood like ever since I was really young and then I think , when I was like 14 , 15 was when the last movie came out . So , yeah , childhood right there . Harry Potter .
You were how old when that came out ?
When Deathly Hallows , let me double check , oh I . When deathly hallows , uh , let me double check , oh , I'm sorry , deathly hallows part two came out in 2011 .
I was 13 . Wow , it's just . It makes me sound so old , even though I love star wars so much , and it really affected my movie love in that , that childhood I think I don't know if it defined who I was as a movie goer when I was that that young , I would say , believe it or not , martial arts movies is what defined my childhood . Is I just ?
that's all I watched with my brother like he would buy , so he would go to chinatown in new york and buy all the bootlegs okay and you would see , like all the new jackie chan movies , like jet lee , uh van der , all those you know , martial arts movies in the 80s and early 90s and they , but they were all horribly dubbed oh , no way .
And to what like english or or spanish ?
english , english . And it was funny because I I'm sure you've seen these funny videos of of those those movies being dubbed back in the day , of them talking , and then it takes a second for the other voice to come out yeah , yeah , yeah so I mean that that that would define my childhood .
but but again , I also it was in love with all sp Spielberg stuff in the 80s as well , and Back to the Future was huge for me . And when it comes to TV cartoons Ninja Turtles , because that came out when I was six , so that's something . I would watch every day and all the Disney shows in the 80s like DuckTales and Darkwing Duck what is it ?
The other one with the tailspin ? If you're old you're gonna know all these shows . And I bought all those shows on at costco . They they put like the first three seasons of every show out and I just bought them . I'm like and my wife said , why are you buying that ? I said , well , it's for the kids . This is back in the early 2000s , so they were young .
She believed that it was for the kids , but it was really for me . A lot of nostalgia there .
I love that . I recognize a few of the sentences that you mentioned . Not all , but Back to the Future and Speedway movies were also really big parts of my childhood , like formative years as well . I just wanted to mention that .
Well , let me jump
¶ LQ: What do you think of the new Harry Potter series?
into . We have a lot of segues here , so I want to segue to Mania's question . A good friend , Mania from Stygianfilms . She was my co-host for the Real Spotlight . She asked what do you think of the new Harry Potter series ? It's's funny because you love it so much .
I haven't really asked you about this , so I'm gonna hear this for the first time yeah , I think both you and monia are gonna regret asking me that question just because , like I'm scared I go off on a tangent , um , I'm so disappointed that it's happening .
I guess I mean they say , or they have said , that the reason why they're doing it so that they can be more faithful to the books , because they obviously edited some things out from the books when they made us into the movies . You know there are some details that they changed in and , um , uh , cut out , but I think that those movies are again .
This might be my emotional attachment to it but they're so perfect as they are , even though they did edit some things out and some things could have been better . I just don't see a world in which remaking harry potter from scratch is a good idea because they already have problems with casting .
Uh , now , you know , like I don't have any problem with them casting snape as an african-american , like I don't mind race bending . But now it's like people are saying that it's problematic because it's like he's going to hate Harry and it's going to be related to his race , when that isn't really related to Snape at all .
And Snape is also like part of the Death Eaters , which is like very similar to , like certain very opinionated groups that existed in the 1940s and up until today . Do you know what I mean ? Like I could , like I don't know if that's either , but like world wars cut . You know what I mean ?
Like it's I , I've read those critiques and they stayed with me , and sort of the others . Like I , there are eight books . Right , they're like seven , seven books , sorry , there's seven books and now they take like ages to film one season . So when are they ? I don't , we don't need it .
We don't , we don't need , we don't need this whole journey again with all of these mistakes and like I don't know .
I just feel well you know what that's a good so like yeah that's a good point about how it's taking forever to do one season of tv . Now what are they going ? To do with these kid actors . They can't wait two , three years per season that's , that's exactly it like they would have to film back to back to back , like every year without fail .
And I don't see that happening because this is going to require big sets , a lot of CGI . You know what I mean ? Various locations .
So it's not going to be expensive . Yeah , and we've seen the delays that we've seen already with Stranger Things . I mean , we met those actors as kids and now they're adults and one of them is married , they're in their 20s and it's not done yet and the story hasn't progressed that much .
I don't know , it's just just it seems like such a nightmare logistically , like politically , um , like in terms of the story , like well , I just I don't see any benefits to it happening , uh at all , especially since it hasn't been that long since the last harry potter movie movie . It's not like they're reviving something that's dead . You know what I mean ?
The people that grew up with Harry Potter are still young , like me . We don't need a new one . It's not like they're remaking something from the 60s .
It's funny because I think if they would have waited , 25 years maybe , you can get away with it , Because you would have been much older and you're like oh , Harry Potter is going to be nice to go back into the world . But this is not even 14 years ago , right , yeah , 14 years ago . And I think that for me I have no desire .
I don't really care that it's coming out . I did see the casting of the three main characters , you know , harry . Ron and Hermione , and I do see all the crap they're taking . It's so much that when HBO posted the casting , they turned off the comments because they knew that trolls were going to attack this little girl .
That's bad though .
Yeah , they spent no— Because I saw the post and it said five minutes ago and already they had the comments turned off Because they knew that what was going to happen . Why do we have people like this in the world , who literally spend one second thinking about the race or the ?
Color of a fictional character's skin , like that's what you're worried I want to live in your world that you have nothing to worry about other than this . But anyway , I saw this little girl's audition and I go . That's emma watson , yeah literally and I go .
How can you ?
that shit already . Okay , okay , shut everybody up , because just , the mannerisms , the way she's talking , she has that know-it-all sass to her speaking ways .
You know , that's what we love about Hermione , like , yeah , she's a know-it-all , but we love her because not being a know-it-all to me , you know a witch , I want to say the other word she's doing it because she believes it and she's doing it because that's she believes it and she's right . Yeah , she's always right .
If I cared about the series , I go , okay , I feel good now that I see this little actress being casted . Okay , it might be a good series or they might doing well . And then , uh , casting john lithgow . I think john lithgow is one of the greatest actors we have . Um , he could . He played churchill in the crown perfectly . He could do anything .
So I I don't have a problem with with the casting , it's just , I think with a lot of people is going to have a problem with getting over the creators political oh yeah , yeah , I kind of forgot to say that too . Yeah that's one of the hugest things that that people I'm really . I don't care about this new series .
Uh what are you gonna do ?
is season one , just gonna uh represent the first book . Are you gonna do season ? Are you gonna do seven seasons , so a season is each book ? I don't know what , what the plans are . I don't know if you do or not I don't know if this was official information .
That was going to be a book per season , but it's so unnecessary . Maybe they're going to combine one and two , I don't know . It's just like . What's more could they add , you know ? And about the , I just want to make like one , just in case I wasn't clear about what I said about the . Like the hermione character , I'm totally in support of her .
I think she's perfect . But what I said about snape is just because they said that casting him , uh , like not as a white guy makes it worse . Do you know what I mean ? Like they Snape should be white , just because , if he's not , then it adds that , like Snape's aggression comes from his race . Do you know what I mean ? That was the argument .
We were saying that it's he's one of the only characters that should should have remained like white , because it's not , like politically correct if he's not .
So that's just what I wanted to to clarify and also I I mean I don't know who's playing snape . I wish him good luck yeah but it's also really hard to follow alan rickman . He's such a freaking , you know , he's such a legend .
It's like doing the lord of the rings again and and somebody else yeah somebody else is playing gandalf like I can't I can't do it . I do
¶ LQ: If Jamie did not lose his sword hand, would we have gotten a redemption arc?
want to add a question that wasn't for this particular episode . Last episode we discussed uh , season three , episode five , kiss by fire for game of thrones and we had a question that I my fault I completely forgot to ask in the podcast . It came from QKH , underscore 187 . He asked the question .
Dean Jamie would have had this turn if he didn't lose his hand , meaning if his change in character , his arc which . I think is a really great question .
You sent me this question beforehand and that's really great question . You sent me this question beforehand and that's exactly what's going to happen . That's an amazing question and after thinking about it for a while , I honestly think that there's no way that Jamie would have had that change at all if he hadn't lost his hand .
It was a key , pivotal moment for his character that stripped a part of his identity from him . You know what I mean . Like that was his sword hand , his fighting hand . That was his entire identity , his like the only kind of good part about his reputation .
That was like , if you can't um praise jamie for anything , you can at least say that he's a good swordsman and he's completely stripped of that and he's left with kind of like I don't want to say the bad side , but he's just left with everything that he's not proud of about himself .
You know what I mean , because everything that he , the one thing he was proud of , was taken away from him . So when he's left so broken , that's when he kind of develops finally develops like empathy and understanding and that's why he was able to open up to Brienne and care about her slightly . So I think that's yeah , definitely it's .
It's like the death of the old Jaime in the beginning of a new one , yeah , when he lost his hand .
I agree . I think there's no way . If he's not captured or loses his sword hand , if he is safely in King's Landing the whole time , there's no way he changes . I think the events force him into this painful self-awareness . It's his fall from grace that makes the redemption possible .
Without him going through all the stuff he went through and let's say , without that him and King's Landing going , I want to be a good guy . Like it wouldn't have worked .
Yeah , yeah .
You know him turning against his sister or his father . Without having gone through all what he went through , it wouldn't have been so powerful as what the show delivered . Before we go to the next question I don't know the name , he just the handle is QKH , underscore 187, . Who submitted the Jamie question ?
He sent us a message because I kind of I said hey , we apologize , we forgot your question but we'll take care of it .
Today , on the recording he just sent , he sent us a DM saying we'd love for you guys to do an episode covering the Seven Kingdoms in in detail , like their inception , economies , geographies , culture , slash , traditions and allegiances , which all good suggestions .
I think we do have plans to do one , like on the religions of westeros and essos , and want to go into episodes that are prior to the conquest
¶ LQ: What is a story in the GOT do you want a show about that is not well known?
of Aegon .
Speaking of Targaryen-less stories in Game of Thrones that we want to see . We got a question from Caden underscore Crippen , who says what is a story in the Game of Thrones world you would want to show about that is not as well known ?
That's a good question . Like I just mentioned , we want to get into that in future episodes and now that we don't have Dunk and Egg to look forward to in the summer , we anything to do with the Starks , like we can do one of the last king in the North , torrhen Stark . He's the one that kneeled to Aegon . There's also how the wall was built .
Oh , the real Long Night . We could do that . That's something that people would enjoy , or I would enjoy for sure .
And one that I'd like to add is actually one that we mentioned before , which is the story of the Night's King at the Wall . One that we mentioned before , which is the story of the Night's King at the Wall . We mentioned this in a previous podcast , I think .
We did an episode about potential spinoffs and we mentioned this story in depth , so please check out that episode to hear the story in depth . It's basically about a Lord Commander of the Night's Watch that goes beyond the Wall and kind of marries a Wilding and kind of marries a White walker . It's kind of insane , um , and it's dark .
So I think that's really cool to get as a mini series
¶ LQ: Are you more excited for HOTD S3 or the Knight of the Seven Kingdoms?
the question from tommy minority obsession , who was a guest of the podcast when we did , uh , the small council . We created our own small councils . That was a fun episode , uh , so check that out . He are you more excited for House of the Dragon , season 3 , or the first season of the Night of the Seven Kingdoms ?
I honestly might say a Night of the Seven Kingdoms , just because I have worries about House of the Dragon , season 3 and I don't have as many worries about the Night of the Seven Kingdoms . We left Season 2 of House of the seven kingdoms uh , we left season two past the dragon . On a bit of a nervous note . We didn't like some changes that they did .
We already didn't know where they were going because they changed a lot from the book .
So I'm I'm kind of nervous about the future past the dragon , um , whereas with the night of the seven kingdoms I know people are worried about this as well , because , um , because of , like the delay , but , um , I I just think that it'll be interesting to see a show that's different , where they take their time .
I'm excited to see that more than as the dragon season three . What about you ?
I feel a little disappointed about the delay , and I'll tell you why . It's because you have six episodes it's not like you had this ginormous season of 20 episodes that you need your time to do post-production and and editing and blah , blah , blah , blah , blah . Like six episodes . Come on . What are we doing like , was it ?
Or are you doing it because you filmed it and then you didn't like it ? And now you're doing reshoots Like what ? What is ? I want to know the the main reason , instead of just saying , oh , we're just delaying it until next year because now you have two a song of ice and fire shows in the same calendar year . Yeah , are they going to ?
Does that mean they're delaying House of the Dragon ? Like I can't . They might honestly classic underdog and egg brings a fresh , you know put a political layer , I'm gonna say , especially to those who know who he becomes , and it's a chance to explore westeros in a more quieter , more character driven way .
And you know you have a noble knight trying to do the right thing in a gray world . Because again I've mentioned in the dunkin egg episode we did is that dunk reminds me of ned stark when it comes to honor yeah and loyalty and all that . So we're gonna see a tall , ned stark walking around with this little kid .
Feel like I want to see a classic adventure story with heart , and I could . Of course I want to see house of the dragon season three , but I'd rather . If you gave me a choice , I'm going to pick Duncan A .
¶ LQ: What's been your favorite EP you've recorded so far?
And moving on from this question , we got a submission from one of our Instagram friends , quinn , at views by Quinn , who says congrats on two years . Thank you , quinn . He says what's been a favorite episode you've recorded so far . I'm really curious about your answer , tony .
So if I had to pick one , I'm going to pick two , because I'm going to cheat . I love the House of the Undying episode we did . I just think us covering a chapter from the Clash of Kings books was really fun and it's something that we want to do and we talked about recently . I'll give everybody a spoiler of what we're going to try to do in the future .
We're going to do the Battle of Blackwater Bay . Then , once we cover the Red Wedding the show , then we're going to go back and cover it how it was in the book and we also want to do one on Ned's death . The second one I'll pick is one we did about George .
Now we've done two episodes on George RR Martin One when we talked about his blog , how he talked about House of the Dragon , season two , but the first one we did , we talked about him , the origins of the of the Game of Thrones books , his life , how he started as a writer .
I think that was a really fun episode and I and I really really , really , really enjoyed it . And that was one of our very first ones . First ones . I think that was like our 12th or 13th episode ?
really , was it that early on ? Yeah , yeah , it was the 13th episode , wow , wow . So actually that george episode is also one of my favorites . Um , that was one of my picks .
Uh , I I think I was the one that did most of the research for that and I had so much fun just researching about his life and like talking about him , so I really enjoyed that episode . And I think my other favorite episode was one that I also got really excited about , and that's the Robert Trebellion episode .
I think I've been telling you more like let's do another historical one is another historical one , because I really enjoyed talking about Robert Trebellion .
Recounting it .
Yeah , yeah , that's our most downloaded episode , by the way yeah , I know , I know and I love it so much , like it's within reason that's the most downloaded one , because it's like we recounted all the major like things you need to know about Robert's Rebellion and at the same time , within it , you know , you get the story of Liana and Rhaegar and and I got
so passionate about it , like while we were prepping for that episode , while we were recording After it , like I couldn't stop thinking about Robert C Bedding for a while and how I really loved that part . It's Robert C Bedding and George .
Yeah , because we kind of touched on Ned and Robert's past you know friendship , how their friendships began , and we also touched upon the Mad King and all those theories and that also that was a really good episode when we did about the Mad King because we kind of got into his friendships with Tywin and how that soured and went south .
¶ LQ: What does Jon Snow, know?
So let me go on to the next question . We actually got three more questions from Grant , Movie Scenes and Shite , I will say Shite . He asked what does john snow ?
know he knows honor , I guess , kind of he he knows how to be stubbornly loyal and honorable when it yeah , he doesn't know how to the one that pissed me off the most , and this is season seven , so we can kind of throw it away .
It's when he doesn't know how to the one that pissed me off the most , and this is season seven , so we can kind of throw it away it's when he can't lie to cersei yeah it's like bro , it's a little white lie . You know this . This , this is a monster . You're not . She doesn't deserve your honor , your word of honor .
And it's so annoying when he's like I cannot , I'm serving one other queen already and everybody just rolls their eyes like , oh my god he knows how to tell the truth . Yeah .
I mean I kind of feel bad saying that , because he did do an okay job being undercover with the knights , with the wildlings .
To be honest , even if he'd lied , cersei wouldn't have . She would have done the same thing anyway . So let's stop so
¶ LQ: Did you ever think of day one of DWD, that GRRM would be no closer to finishing the book 2 years later?
. So grant's next question is that uh , basically asking us when we started our first day of recording , did you ever think on day one that george would be no closer to finishing the book two years later ?
oh yeah , yeah . I think there was like a moment within that time frame where I don't remember what's happened , but there was like a hint that was going to be soon at some point . I don't know what's happened , I can't .
I can't remember for the life of me now , but something happened where they were like oh , winter , winter is actually coming sooner rather than later . I remember like accounts posting about instagram , like it's coming up by the end of the year .
I forgot which year is my , I don't know if it was within that time frame or like before , but I think that was the only time where I actually felt like it was in the foreseeable future , because it went like , it spread like , like like wildfire , the news that was coming soon , like I don't know what was the source of that news , but it felt so real and
then turned out to be true , obviously , but that was the only time I ever felt like winds of winter is coming soon yeah , I've defended george because , you know , ultimately it's his baby and I'll still defend them , even though Winds of Winter was released in 2012 .
Or 2011 , I'm sorry . So that's 14 years , almost a decade and a half . There's so many other projects he's done , he's involved with , he's producing , he's writing and , yeah , I get when people are getting upset and people will say , say , well , let somebody else write it . Well , I don't want to read what somebody else wrote , I want to read his .
And if he doesn't do it , then yeah he doesn't do it . He wrote in his new blog and it just came out this wednesday . So right now we're at the 30th of may and then may 28th he released a blog called Howard Meets Hercules . So he's doing a new project , the animated feature .
Obviously he puts that news out and instantly you get people saying why are you doing this ? And blah , and he's just tired of it . So he goes . I know this is what he wrote and I quote . I know I know some of you would just be pissed off by this , as you are by everything . I announced that it's not about Westeros or the Winds of Winter .
You have given up on me or on the books . I will never finish Winds If I do . I will never finish A Dream of Spring . If I do , it won't be any good and I ought to find some other writer to pinch hit for me . I'm going to die soon anyway because I'm so old . I lost all my interest in A Song of Ice and Fire decades ago .
I don't give a shit about writing anything .
This is all him saying what fans are saying to him he ultimately writes I do care about the world that I created , and I care about Westeros and the winds as well , the Starks , the Lannisters , the Targaryens , tyrion and Asha , dany and Daenerys , the dragons and the direwolves that care about them all more than you can ever imagine .
Leave this man alone already yeah maybe he's testing everybody maybe honestly , I don't know . I feel so bad for him and I just wish that people would kind of give him a break . I know that they're like no , but he doesn't deserve him , poor guy . I don't know , and I should .
And I don't know . It's because he's stuck on a storyline or a plot that he can't fix , or he screwed up Many , many theories on that as well . No , I mean , I'm not surprised that it's not out . But let's go on to the next question , because again , we've done a whole episode about this .
¶ LQ: Do fantasy books work as movies or shows?
So Grant's next question is do fantasy books work better as movies or shows ? Got is a great show , but Lord of the Rings are great films . I was going to let you answer , but let me add another question . Not another question , but we'll get to see this now in real time with harry potter oh , true , true , and I feel like you're just going .
Like I said harry potter , you said star wars , so not really fancy , it's like fancy sci-fi , but , um , I dropped the mandalorian , like after season two , and I haven't seen andor yet . So , like what would your answer be ?
Yeah , given the fact that we have star wars , movies , and , and , or like , is it different because andor is just so different from the rest of the universe ? Or like , do you think it's a special case and it doesn't really apply to this question ? Or ?
well , I think , I think harry potter's I guess it's it'll be more scrutinized because they're just retelling the story . So , like with the mand , mandalorian and Andor , they're telling different stories , true true . Or Lord of the Rings , a show . They're telling a different story . They're not retelling the story of the movies .
Yeah .
So I think there'll be a microscope under Harry Potter . For me , I think a show , if done right , provides more room for the subplots and the character arcs for people to grow and breathe . In a movie you just have two to three hours and you have to cut a lot of major plot lines . I guess they're claiming from Harry Potter they want to add to those .
I think my daughter was telling me why are they going to do that ? I said , well , one money and two . If she really wants her vision out there , you can really go in deep into the first book .
I don't know how big is the first book and I don't know how much more they can get out of it that you're going to see on screen that you didn't see in the movies .
I don't know either . I I mean for Harry Potter . I think that , like it will kind of be the proof of this answer . Do you know what I mean ? As you said , but like the first book is so it's short , doesn't need like a whole season of a show , you know what I mean , doesn't need more than a couple of hours that the movie provided .
Like the first movie was perfect , it was , it did justice to the book . They just , if I can remember correctly , they just edited a few things that are just fine edits . It's hard to generalize because it depends on the story .
With Game of Thrones , if it was a movie , I don't think it maybe would have worked because , obviously because a lot more happens in Game of Thrones than in books like Harry Potter or , I guess , even like I think , the only way . The rings .
No , I think game of thrones would have could have worked as a movie , but it would have had to have been a trilogy and three hours plus yeah , and even so they would have had to crop out so much of what makes game of thrones game of thrones .
I think you know , like , like ned stark's death wouldn't have had any impact if it was in a movie . Like we spent a whole like 10 hours , like nine hours , with that guy and then he just gets beheaded . Do you know that it's not the same if we just spent like an hour or two with him , and then it's like oh well , that would have .
I think that that would have been in part three , so that would have been like the last hour of the last film and you know , people would have been pissed .
Uh , yeah no , it wouldn't have worked as a movie . So it depends , I think , on what the the project is . And also , I just want to say something that , like another case of this happening is percy jackson . I started the percy jackson books .
I haven't finished them yet and I think that with percy jackson , even though it's like a kid's book it's a short book the show is much better than the movie , because the show kind of takes its time for you to to like appreciate every little detail that's in the story .
So , uh , I guess it just depends on , like , the actual story versus how long it's been yeah ,
¶ LQ: Have you read the book or seen the film Eragon?
so last question from Grant .
Thank you , Grant , from sending all these questions . He asked . I'm currently reading the Eragon books . Have you read them or seen the film ?
I think I have the book and I maybe saw the movie when it came out Like I think it came out like 2000, .
The early 2000s .
Yeah .
Yeah . So almost 20 years ago .
Well , yeah , I think I maybe saw the movie when it came out . I was like eight years old , um , but I remember seeing the books every . I remember a friend of mine really liking it , so I have some recollection of it , but not a lot .
I'm not sure if I watched the movie or not , and I don't think I love the books as well yeah , I just remember like seeing a trailer and it's about some kids who find , like a dragon egg and something like that , there's an evil king . I don't know the story , I just remember that . That was pretty much it .
So I have not read the books or seen the movie well , uh , that answers your question grant , but I know that has to do with dragons , so if you think that's me and so anyone like it , then let us know . We've got
¶ LQ: Will Minwa and Tony ever meet in person?
a couple of other questions from another instagram friend of ours , shan at from forger , and one of her questions made me laugh . She said are there any plans to meet up in person one day , you two ? Uh , I hope , so hope .
It would have to be you coming over here . I don't know . You've actually made a few trips to the States since we've been doing this podcast , but it's always far away . So you're like in the East Coast or you're like in LA . I remember you in LA recently I'm not recently , but this year .
Last year , last year .
Last year , ok , were you somewhere . Maybe you this year , last year , last year , yeah , last year ?
okay , were you somewhere ? Maybe you know you're in the east coast somewhere yeah , yeah , I was in boston , yeah .
So I think last year you were in los angeles , which is like six and a half hours from me , but that weekend it was already had stuff I had to do and I could have done that . I could have just driven over there if I had three those three days . So next time you're going to plan to come to LA , just ask me if I'm free or not .
I'll make sure I'm free . We could do that Definitely . But one day maybe , who knows , I'll fly across the world and just knock on your door .
Yeah , please , Please , why not Like ? I think it's really cool .
So if everyone comes to Bahrain , you can come at any time , of course Not in the summer , because I don't want to leave the summer .
No , no , no .
Here is 110 degrees . I don't want to go somewhere else where it's that hot . Yeah , yeah exactly .
¶ LQ: What is the biggest challenge of being a podcast host?
So , other than that , shan asked us some pretty deep questions about our podcast . She says what is your biggest challenge being a podcast host ?
Yeah , For me personally , learning how to figure out time management . You know , because sometimes we try to schedule all our recordings and then we go well , I can't do it now , I can't do it . Figure out a way , how to be more consistent as somebody who's doing podcasting and you're trying to figure out , okay , what would the audience want to listen to ?
What would would they want to listen to this ? What should we do ? Uh , should , okay . Well , that's going to take too much time .
Uh , like , you're trying to figure out something to grow your podcast and sometimes it's mentally taxing because you're thinking about audience , audience growth , and sometimes I'll look at our stuff and I go , man , I wish we could do this .
I wish we could do that , I wish we had time to just be online all day long and just talk about , okay , you know , every little news bit that comes out . Like , I can't do that .
There's some creators who can , who you know , they just post a video every five minutes about every little topic , and great for them , but I just don't , like I said , with time management we can't do that . But I think we're doing okay when it comes to these .
Couple past months has been a little challenging when it comes to uploading episodes , because we've been a little busier . Like last year , we were just pumping out episode a week because we were doing all the House of the Dragon and then House of the Dragon season two .
I think we did like three months straight of every week recording and that was very tiring and I think us doing every two weeks now posting every two weeks it's a little more mellow now that we're not in a rush to put out episodes I think , yeah , the time management thing is definitely like it's been a challenge , since we've we're we live in opposite sides of
the world .
Um , I think I also had to learn how to kind of improve my conversational skills maybe a little bit more , because I I'm like , very introverted , so when I I talk to you or when we have a guest , it's like I kind of have to be super aware and make sure , like you know what I mean .
Like it's like an introvert that's just dealing with with the fact that she's hosting a podcast . So that's what I had to . That was a bit of a challenge as well .
And also , I think maybe I don't want to go too deep after this question , but for a while I kind of felt like , though I was a big fan of the show and I am a big fan of the show , I felt a bit of like an imposter syndrome hosting this podcast because I didn't finish reading the books and I still didn't finish reading the books .
So that's something that I struggle with too . I'm like , uh , am I just , like you know , like speaking nonsense sometimes and I don't know what I'm talking about ?
But I try my best and hopefully this will go away once I'm done with the books , which hopefully , hopefully , hopefully isn't too far in the future , since I already read the first couple chapters of book four . Yeah , it's just that , and let me move
¶ LQ: What have you learned about yoursleves since starting the pod?
on to the next question before it gets too deep , because Sean also said something else that's related to this , and she said what have you learned about yourself since starting this podcast ?
I can answer that , as I think about the first podcast I started , I never in my wildest dreams thought I would host a podcast because I was always afraid of speaking in public . And I go , I'm not speaking in public , I'm speaking to the public but I'm not speaking in front of them .
So a lot of radio hosts who are awful public speakers , they're like I don't like to talk to the public in front of them , I'm behind the mic and I don't see anybody In front of them . I'm behind the mic and I don't see anybody .
And I think this is a huge difference with me is that I never realized that the confidence in recording a podcast and saying what I think , and now that I've been a guest on a few podcasts , I think having confidence in my ability to talk onto the mic is something that I've , I guess , proud that I'm doing and learned that I could do .
For me it's not so different as well . I mentioned I'm an introvert , so I was really it was really daunting to me to host a podcast and have people listen to my voice when I can barely listen to my voice and they would like . You know I'm speaking and they're listening . Like you know I'm speaking and they're listening .
And it's freaked me out because sometimes , when I I always considered posting online like whether it's my reviews or anything I always considered it you know , I'm going to speak into the void and I'm going to consider it that no one is actually going to listen to me and when I'm writing , it doesn't actually feel like like it's me , it's my words .
I feel like I am'm just I'm myself , whether I'm writing or I'm speaking , and I'm maybe a better writer than I am a speaker . So that's why I felt more comfortable in that medium even people engaged with the content but because I feel less comfortable speaking . It was really daunting for me and it was like a learning curve kind of just getting over that .
Even though I I have this attitude , still I'm like I'm gonna pretend like I was listening to this podcast . I like it still haunts me , like seeing the buzzsprouts that you know , and all of our listeners , sometimes we've been like , oh wait , people are actually listening . I don't know . It freaks me out still .
Yeah , um , but and I remember , like you know , when the first podcast I ever recorded with you and under the spotlight , like you saw how nervous I was and I was panicking beforehand , of course , after recording I was like out of my mind yeah , I was , I was so , so worried and scared , um , but like now it's better .
It's just that it's the kind of like it was really outside my comfort zone , but now not as much . You know what I mean . So I think actually I changed a lot , I think , anyways
¶ LQ: Who in the GOT cast would you like to have dinner with?
all right , let's go on to .
We have actually a lot of questions left here , uh , so I'm going to start with two from travel enthusiasts , who sends us a lot of questions . His first question is uh , who in the cast other than your favorite characters would you like to have dinner with ? And and I think he I'm assuming he's saying your favorite characters in Daenerys and Tyrion .
So , other than Emilia Clarke and Peter Dinklage , who would you have dinner with ?
So so he means the actors , yeah .
Yeah , just the actors .
I think I choose Sophie Turner . She's close to my age , maisie Turner . Maisie Williams , who plays Arya , is closer to my age , but I think I just choose sophie turner because I don't know like I feel like she's the kind of extroverted friend that will help you out of your shell a little bit .
I think that's kind of what's like I , I need , like I , I love her energy . So yeah I would say Sophie Turner .
Yeah , yeah , I'm going to say believe it or not .
You're going to say a media crack because you can .
No , no , no , no no , no , no , no , no , no , no , no , no , no no no , no , no no and I go . I think he's close to my age and I think we have a lot of stuff to talk about , and with having dinner with Pedro , he'll probably have Oscar Isaac there too . So you know , they're really good friends .
Then I'm going to say then Sophie Turner is going to come with Maisie Williams , since they're close friends as well . So let's talk girls .
No , I , yeah , I think it would be a great , great dinner to me and Pedro just talking .
¶ LQ: What kind of music is on your spotify playlist?
His next question is if I went through your Spotify playlist , what kind of music would I find ?
Okay , I can give a very quick answer A lot of Taylor Swift , a lot of BTS and Seventeen and other K-pop bands and Hamilton , other Broadway and film soundtracks , and that's it . That's literally it . What about you ?
Actually , I have pretty much every genre in my playlist . I have a lot of playlists , but the only genre that's not really . I have a couple songs that I'm not a big fan of , and it's just because I didn't grow up with it as country music .
And .
I think I have a couple songs of some artists there , but you know , mostly , probably like 80% of my music is the music I grew up with the salsa music and merengue and all that . So it's a lot of that , lot of that out there . And then I also have like r b , I have hip-hop , I have classical music , I have 80s , I have all the mexican music too .
So it's like a vast variety . So if I put a shuffle , you'll . You'll hear a , you'll hear a uh song from like the little mermaid , and then the next one will be like Eminem .
It's just I love that . I love that . I have that mixed too .
I have it's a mermaid and I have Eminem , so I have that mixed too , and then and then you'll go to like a country , or then you'll go back to a disco song from the seventies and then go back to like a beauty and the bass song . It's just a vast variety of people may like . What playlist is that ?
Well , I don't know , I just like to listen to all kinds of music .
Yeah , my playlist has a good mix too .
¶ LQ: Excluding S8 what storyline would you delete from the show (GOT)?
Okay , I have a question here from Jace RK6 . He asks excluding season eight . This is a thinker and I probably should have sent this to you . Excluding season 8 , this is a thinker and I probably should have sent this to you . Excluding season 8 what storyline or storylines would you delete from the show ?
I am not that informed about it yet because I haven't gotten to that part in the books yet , but you've told me about it and I feel like I'm stealing your answer if I say this , so I'm gonna . If I do , I'm sorry , but it's probably like the doran plot . That's the main thing that came to mind for me .
That's the first thing , because , like it seems really interesting and it's such a waste what we got on the show , like even someone that's only familiar with what's happened , like from a distance , like I haven't read that part yet , so , uh , but even just knowing about it makes me feel like , um , like what we got was a bit underwhelming , so I'd say that , um
, I guess yeah , I'm , I have a lot to pick from .
I'm just gonna pick one and I'm I'm a little surprised you didn't say this I'm gonna pick the whole , the whole .
Uh , little finger of taking sansa to the boltons oh yeah , oh yeah , oh my god , yeah , yeah , I'm sorry uh , I don't that's what we .
We could have gotten the same thing with her not being there john still would have wanted to fight for his home and it still would have been the same . I don't understand why we needed that extra bit of torture . Like we , she already gone through so much , why we adding more trauma to this character . That's , that's the one , uh , obvious season eight .
We could just probably say the whole season , but we don't want to go through that and that's probably a good topic for us in the future . What storylines would you delete from the show ? Yeah , okay , let's . Uh . We're gonna finish up this special episode of our two year anniversary with five questions that was sent by my two kids . They're not kids anymore .
The one is 23 . The other is 19 . And this is from my son who , uh , I first started watching game of thrones within , I think , 2017 . Think season seven hadn't come . Thrones within , I think , 2017 . I think season seven hadn't come out yet , I think when he turned 16 , I go , you know what ?
I think he's ready to watch Game of Thrones and the only thing I did was I would fast forward through the you know , sexy parts . I would say but other than that , like he would watch and I think , yeah , yeah .
So only six seasons were up at the time , so he got to watch seven and eight live , like with everybody else , and I sent you that video of him reacting to the red wedding yeah
¶ LQ: Which death in the show was the hardest to accept?
so his question was which death in the show was the hardest for you to accept ? Rob stark for me . He loved rob so much . I'm surprised you didn't say Daenerys Right off .
I mean , the reason I didn't say Daenerys is just because I got angry about it , but I didn't like it made me . I guess it's a valid answer because I was furious that Dany , you know , had that .
And it's not that she died , it's just the way she it's the way , the way it happened .
Yeah , it wasn't epic , or it wasn't like no , oh , wow , that's . That's so not amazing , but wow , that makes sense yeah , it was like what yeah , so yeah , it has to be , I guess , danny for that reason , because it made me furious and the when , when he said like get over , I , I thought of it as like being sad .
So my mind went to my reaction with to the red wedding , um , but yeah , I guess I have to say the danny as well . Danny , it was like rage . And then with um with rob , it was like sadness , like it was a very brutal thing and like sad thing and so graphic . Yeah , it was .
So I'm like with danny , you could kind of tell that was going in that direction and I knew that rob was gonna die too , but I didn't know how . That's what made me so sad , um , so yeah , I would say both of them . I'm gonna say rob too no , I'm .
I'm going to say Ned Stark . Okay , I didn't watch this first season . I read the first book . That one was unbelievable to me because I didn't think for a million years he would kill off one of the main people In my head . I'm thinking , okay , something's going to happen , he's going to be saved , he's going to be sent to the wall .
Something magical is going to happen . And you know it didn't . So I had to realize what's going on . And after reading you know more chapters after that and just the , the , all the events that happened , all the ramification of that's death .
I am still couldn't accept like he really killed this guy he really yeah he really killed him off I had a similar reaction where I would .
I wasn't denied and I was just like so , so wait , how is he coming back ? Like what was that ? Was that like a dream , you know ? And like what's what's happened ? And then my brother was just like , oh , just watch the finale , because he was going off something too and I was watching it and I was like what do you mean ? He's actually dead .
I was so shocked . But I don't think it was the same harrowing experience that it was with Rob and Danny , that same depth With Ned . I was just in denial .
Yeah , okay , the next three questions were submitted by my daughter . She started watching Game of Thrones with with me , I think a couple years ago now . She was 17 . She's like I want to watch . You know , she said my . You know she says andres . You know he started watching it at the same age . I need to watch it too .
I'm like you're right , you know , not gonna say anything . So we started watching . Uh , we watched season one and two and then season three . She got upset because somebody spoiled the Red Wedding for her . Oh , and
¶ LQ: What was the worst GOT spoiler that got revealed to you?
her first question was what was the worst spoiler you got revealed to you before watching an episode ?
and she's like I already know what happens .
I don't want to watch anymore . A lot of more stuff happens after that . You don't have to stop watching the show .
Yeah , um , I was on the same page as her . I was , I had , I knew what's robin's death , um , so I was very upset about it and and like mad about it . Before it happened I didn't know how it was it would happen , I just knew that was coming .
But I think the worst spoiler that I got was I don't know why , I said this story in the podcast before , but during season eight , a couple of days or like a week before the finale or something , I got this dm from this random girl , I don't know her she I don't know if she follows me or not but then she just said , um , bran becomes the king .
I don't know if she said something , something else like , but she told me Bran becomes the king , something , something . I read all the leaks , uh , like , like , basically in your face , something like that . And when I saw it , like I I couldn't believe my eyes . I was like what she's saying ?
And then I deleted this and I got so mad and I I got so affected . I was like you know what , even if it's true , if it's it's not true , like it's , like it's good to be someone messing with me .
And then , when it's happened , I was like I hate that someone took away what could have been 100% authentic reaction from me and because she did it on purpose , she just wanted to ruin the day for it . Like she wants to ruin it for me for no reason I have no , but she knew me , so I remember lots of people like also when I said this on my stories .
At that time , they were really angry on my behalf as well , which I appreciated , because how could you be that like , how could you , how could you do that ? You know what I mean . Like you know that I'm a huge , huge fan of the show , and if you just want to ruin something for someone , why you To ruin something for someone ? Why you know ?
So that was , I think , the worst experience that I had with someone , like with spoilers . So I still don't forgive her and I hope that whatever show , any show that she watches , I hope it's spoiled for her .
Yeah , for me I don't think I had anything spoiled . You know , before all the seasons I read the book , and then season six , through eight seasons I read the book and then season six to eight , I think I made sure to watch the shows right away on sundays . You can't trust the internet nowadays if I don't watch a show .
I don't even go online yeah that's why I watch the show , because I mean it's instantaneously . You see videos of people saying , oh , blah , blah , blah died . Oh , did you like this part ? But I'm like bro it hasn't been five minutes since the show finished airing . Uh , so I can't really say that I got spoiled for anything .
Uh , the one thing I think I got spoiled for house of the dragon , but I gotta look through what it was um for season two , which I knew was going to happen , but still , you want to see it firsthand , you don't want to be told um okay
¶ LQ: Which actor performance was the most underrated/deserved more recognition?
. So her next question is in your opinion , which actor's performance was the most underrated ?
slash slash deserved more recognition in the in game of thrones oh , I mean I'd say amelia clark because I have to and because I love her and I don't think that it's still like she . Like she , obviously there's more recognition and I don't think that she won an award for it , like that's all right . So I would say amelia clark and lena heady .
I think that they both like lena heady definitely deserves more recognition for her performances .
Cersei , I think lena , yeah , lena Hedy . I think we're all in agreement all the fandom that she gave the best one of the well top five three performances of the show . So I don't think she's underappreciated or underrated , but she does deserve more recognition that she didn't get .
I don't even think she was maybe nominated a few times , but the fact that she didn't get , I mean she , I don't even think she was maybe nominated a few times , but the fact that she didn't win anything , uh is really . I mean , for the first few seasons , the last two seasons , it was pretty much her looking out the window drinking wine .
Yeah well , she did masterfully , by the way , but still it's kind of got boring , uh . So I'm going to say her , and obviously you know you have um diana riggs with lena lady oh yeah , but everybody gives her her flowers . I mean she's not underrated , or you know yeah , I always recommend .
I think I said I . Yeah , I think I said lena , he just because of , like the , the , she didn't get any awards for a performance that's them at .
We all recognize her I think , uh , peter dinklage is the only actor who got an award , an emmy or any other roles . I'm also going to add um , charles dance I his portrayal of tywin lannister's I , I , you know , you know , you know , I . I'm tired of using the word great and incredible and stunning .
I mean , we just covered that last scene of episode five of season three , which it's just , he's Tywin . It's scary .
He is Tywin . Yeah , I think actually I'm going to say that someone is a bit underrated . I would say it might be Nicolae Coster-Waldau , because , see , we immediately run to praise the other dancers and not him .
And I think in the last episode we saw , like how he could deliver a very strong performance , because in that bath scene that he had with Brienne , like I said that I'm glad that we got that scene and we got to see that from him , from the actor , rather than it being a flashback , because it gets to us more to see this Jaime that we know being so like
broken yeah so he , he delivered that exceptionally , I think . So I would consider him to be underrated , to be honest , like within the fandom as well .
Okay
¶ LQ: Was there part of the GOT series you were able to predict?
. Her last question is was there any parts of the series that you were able to predict the storyline of ? This is probably talking about season seven and eight , which they reared from the books and they were just doing whole new show material and not relying on George .
I don't remember which episode this was , because when Game of Thrones was airing week to week , I would be active on Instagram sharing my thoughts , my predictions for each episode , and I forgot which episode it was . I think it was in season 8 ? I'm not sure , but I kept my predictions for the episode , not even 24 hours before the episode .
It was extremely accurate , tony . Every single thing that I wrote happened in that episode . I before the episode . It was extremely accurate , tony , like every single thing that I wrote happened in that episode . I forgot which one it was and I remember someone commenting like how on earth did you , did you get that the exact episode ?
And I was like , how did I ? Did I do it ? I don't know , but I did it . So it's , I think , one of the season eight episodes . Maybe season eight episode two , um , or one like one . One of the season eight episodes . Maybe season eight episode two , um , or one like one of the early season eight episodes . I think I don't think it was season seven .
So maybe like jamie leaving cersei , but I predicted that , but I didn't predict him going back to her , you know . So yeah , I can't . That's about you .
I don't think I can remember anything Me predicting or knowing the story . I guess I can remember one thing it's when the Night King becomes the Pole Vaulter and he throws , he kills . Who was it Viserion ? He kills .
Yeah , viserion yeah .
And he becomes an ice dragon . I go well , there's how they're going to destroy the wall , and I kind of said that right after you see him . You know , revived at the water when they got the chains from the in the hardware store or wherever they got those chains from .
So that's the one thing I can think of right now , of saying , well , they're going to use him to . You know , bring the wall down . That's going
¶ Outro/preview of next podcast
to be it for this special , special episode of our two-year anniversary . Minua , how do you feel that we're going into our third year ? What do you want to see ? What do you want us to ? What do you see in the future ? Do you see us , uh , hosting a red carpet ?
maybe , uh , I see us talking to the cast , talking to george one day , and I had this nightmare once of like george asking me so I'm gonna winner , you're gonna finish the book . So I , I see that's happening . Either that's happening I've been crying or him telling me like , oh , you're sorry if I only finished the book .
So I'm like , yeah , so , uh , I see that's happening . I see , um , like I see us panicking a lot in our maybe third slash , fourth year , um , and like kind of going crazy over like the seven kingdoms and house of the dragon , season three .
I think both of those things will kind of just put us in a whirlwind , if that makes sense , it'll keep us busy , it'll keep us in a very thronesy state of mind and we're going to be panicking about when to schedule , when to record . So I'm excited for year three and four of the podcast and more .
What about you ? Year three , uh , and four of the podcast , and more hopefully , yeah , think of . If you think about the schedule for house of the dragon , 2026 is season three .
You know they're gonna take two , at least two years for season four , so that's already 2028 , and you have the three seasons of , uh , night of the seven kingdoms , and I don't know if they're going to keep doing every two years . I hope not .
So we're talking about at least five more years of expecting new material from this world , and then they also have all these other projects they're working on . So I don't even know when that's going to come out , hopefully in the future .
So we're going to have endless things to talk about in this world , not just going back and revisiting um , old shows , which I love to do , by the way . Revisiting the episodes , going deep into them , like really , uh , analyzing them and dissecting each episode uh makes me appreciate the show more , I think .
And , uh , like this season three so far has been so good , and I might be changing my answer about which season is my favorite once we get to the end of this and then , uh , we're probably gonna wait until season four , maybe until next year , because we want to do . We don't want to run out . You know what I mean . Like do all eight seasons .
Right away . We'll really focus on the world and beyond and I'm excited for that . For our next episode we're going to be doing season three , episode six , the Climb . That's going to be an exciting episode to cover year anniversary episode of dancing with dragons .
