Dan Weinrib, City Clerk for Trussville, AL and longtime public servant, has returned (as promised) for a special baseball-themed episode! This year will be Dan's 24th season umpiring high school baseball for the Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA). You'll hear about Dan's experience as a baseball umpire — including the types of "safe" & "out" calls he makes, taking a fastball off the facemask, ejections — and what it takes to perform consistently well at a high level. Dan is a Harry Wendelstedt Umpire School alum (January 2000).
