Episode 2: They're In Awe

Uh so, Dil, did you actually have a good week? Um? You know that's objective or subjective, I guess. But um, I think I started off bad with college and then I started rebounding a little with NFL. But I do think I had some some bright spots. Okay, let's let's recap what you it and then i'll get to bad Larry. So, uh,

you were four and four last week? Yes? Um? So I started off with Thursday night Dak hit the over in his passing and a half um and then I did also have the Cowboys plus nine in that game in a parlay which also had charges plus one which hit and then I had the over and Cardinals Titans at fifty two and a half and they made it to fifty one. So just swinging a miss on that one. Okay, Uh, bad, Larry. I got you at four and four, But that seems like a generous four and four. Didn't you have like

seven or eight teasers with your Buffalo bills? Being right? That four and four is exactly what it was. And the teasers there were six teasers and they went three and three three with Buffalo lost and everything else one damn? Okay, why don't you recap your your weekend there? Um? No, I hard to recap Dan Buffalo, my big bed of the week, um destroyed me. Um. I just had to

hit every other game, that's all. So I'm living with four and for the way I have is I'm down four units right now because I have five units on Buffalo and then four units plus Veg obviously, but um, you know I lost the five units on Buffalo and then all the other games. One. Uh, your bad beat was what did you have? One? Um? You know, I had to move my son into Hoboken, so I didn't see any games, so I can't tell if they were bad.

All I heard was I had a block punt for a touchdown, and I only need Buffalo to win the games. I don't need him to cover and uh block punt for a touchdown tough to overcome. I gotta work on my special teams. I guess all right, anybody taking any action on tonight tonight's gale, I did put two. I have too, so that game tonight, damn? Okay, um, I have the under in the Giant game at forty one,

and I have Washington. Okay, So you have Washington minus three Washington minus three, right, Okay, Dylan, do you have anything on tonight? I am going head to head with Larry and I'm taking the Giants plus the points plus the points. I like hearing as Dylan. I've got a new strategy that I'm actually I'm gonna try and employ for the season, and I'm gonna try and take all the prime time underdogs against the spread. Okay, I don't.

It just kind of came to me in a fever dream one night and I was like, I'm going to give it a spin. You don't apply much logic with your bets. Well, I have found in the past when I go down the logic rabbit hole, it actually starts to backfire. So okay, recap, give us your picks for this week. So you have tonight's game. What else do you have? Yeah? So for we want to start NFL like whatever you because I have some colleges. Okay, that's

do college. Okay, So for college, I've got Cincinnati minus four against Indiana Miami the U minus six and a half over Michigan State. Alabama minus fourteen over Florida fourteen and a half. I think it may have moved a little. And then two lane Ole miss under seventy six was in my college and your NFL ones for the National Football League. Um so, in addition to the Giants plus the points, I have Titan Seahawks over fifty four and a half. Now you have the Giants plus four. Bad

Larry has Washington minus three. Yes, so I think I saw it at three and a half and four. I figured maybe it had moved. It's at three now. So when I put these in yesterday, it was four. What else? Um Cardinals minus four over the uh? Who are the Cardinals playing? Vikings? UM? And Steelers minus five and a half over the radar, especially after the Raiders did my Ravens thirty on mondays um and or I have the

Ravens Chiefs game over fifty four and a half. And then I've got two money line dogs Bengals money line plus one over the Bears m and obviously Ravens money line plus one sixty over the Chiefs, which is might be a throwaway bat also, but I'm gonna do it anyways. And I have a part one parlay um Rams minus three and a half Saints minus three and a half in Cincinnati College money line. I just whipped that one together.

I wish you, I wish you. I wish you did as much work at work as you do the other's stuff here, uh as we make this segue to somebody who doesn't have a job, bad Larry. Alright now, I am just driving this days. I just dropped my wife off at a stool, and I'm sitting on main street in belmar Um. So I gotta look at my pick. So if you're gonna have to look on my phone for my picks, so do you have any commenting on my picks? I won't hear you. I don't think I

don't know how to work speaker phone. But let me say Okay, do you know how do you have time? I have the Saints minus three, the Bears minus three, the Rams minus four, the Cards minus four, and Dallas plus three. They're all to two unit bets. Okay. I didn't do any college I gotta wait till after Christmas for college after Christmas, that's when I usually go south. You don't you don't know anything about these guys yet, who's in a fifth year, who's

who's transferred. I don't know all that stuff, all right, I mean, but you can you can kind of do a little guesswork and figure Alabama is probably going to kick the crap out of people for the first couple of weeks this season. Yeah, I thought that about Notre Dame and I was in two. I'm done with Notre Dame after that first week. I'm done with them. And it worked. It would have worked out if I had

taken it would Yeah, seventeen point favor. Yeah. Um. I also, Larry, I did want to point out um at the end of our previous episode, you didn't like one of my picks in particular, which was Iowa straight up over Iowa stay and I I thought about that when I saw that score. Nice pick, that was the That was the only college game that hit though, So I'll take I'll

take what I can get. Well, I you know, I didn't realize that Dan was our stenographer, and I think he and you might be in cahoots to beat me. So I'm gonna have to start writing your picks down. So today this week, you got another free path because I don't have I don't know if I'm the course that Dan's really trying to hit himself to for this. So no, it's not like he's secretariat. He's like Mr Ed. I mean, he's not secretary with a broken leg. Yeah, yeah,

No, I'm here because you have done this for many, many years, and you're pretty good at doing this, and I thought, I want you guys to both do well, I'm not rooting against anybody here. Well, I would like that's a good point. Um, I'm gonna have to start getting on some of Dylan's picks. Then that's a slippery slope. how are you going to hear the podcast? Well, my son watches your show every morning, and I go down in the basement and watch it with him. But I moved him to Hobokera. I don't even have to turn his TV on the base, and I might as well just shut the door and never go down here again. Okay, I'm gonna work anything. I would love that because I one of that. As far as just to believe, I hit my button for Google and I asked Google and it said Dan Patticks not add for the next fourteen days. This is yesterday on Google. So I said, where can you view Dan Patrick? And he said no, no television for the next fourteen days. And then I said, well, maybe that's why they needed my picks yesterday because they were going on vacation. Is that I mean, is that not true? Or no? No,

I'm not going on vacation. Badlary. I picture you rocking like an old flip phone? Is that? Oh? No? To put my bets in online, I had to get up Android. But it's not My kids all want me to have an It's an old Androids. Not for communicating, just that placing that just that placing and phone conversation respect anything else. I got one more thing, Dylan, since we're picking, we're remembering what people said the first time I ever spoke to you, said the Giants were impossible to watch, and we both agree we should just met the under every week. And that second week of the season, and you're picking them to win. I said they're my team and you said, hope. Well, okay, so I'm not picking them to not lose by more than three.

But um no, I mean this is about as big as a snoozer as I could think of Giants football team. Um and no Fitzpatricks. So we got that Heineke guy again, right, he's actually probably more excited like he was fun to watch last year that game. Yeah, he played well against Brady. Yeah, it could be something. There's something that's something to do tonight. So an old friend of mine, Dan told me, this

is thirty years ago. We're gambling back in Rod's tavern and seeger and he told me that he wishes the NFL went to two games every night, So every night you had two NFL games and just worked the schedule. I don't really care because last night I went to bed in like ten thirty last night. There was nothing to do. I'm actually looking forward to the watch Washington. The days do seem more hollow when they're once it's football season. You really noticed when there isn't football on,

but there is sort of. Then it's nice when you get to like Thursday. You know, if it's every day, it's like it'd be like Christmas every day. And by the way, I'm right, we're writing down everything. We're documenting everything, Larry, just letting you know we have the paperwork for all

your bets. Okay, that's perfect because we used to keep my card game money in an insurance office and figuret and every day, you know, we'll just go back in like at the end of the year would say, Wow, would wouldn't it be nice to just have that money sitting in a pile somewhere.
