This is Dan Caplis and welcome to today's online podcast edition of The Dan Caplis Show. Please be sure to give us a five star rating if you'd be so kind, and to subscribe, download and listen to the show every single day on your favorite podcast platform, even if you're not into politics. This is one of the most exciting days in American political history. It's probably gonna end up being one of the most important days in American political history, so

much more important than any other debate in our lifetime. So of course we're going to be over every single aspect of this and some deeply deeply concerning behavior by CNN, And it goes way beyond a Tapper and Bash. Are they going to be biased against Trump? Of course, but no, this goes way beyond that. So I want to get to that in a second as well. We have so much hot sound for today, but just hours away. I cannot wait. I think it's going to be a very good night

for President Trump. It'll be Biden's swin Swan song. He's going to do better, better than expected, but it isn't going to matter in the end. Eight five five or zero five eight two five to five the number What is going to matter is that Trump's going to do a good job tonight. A vast majority of humans know they had a better life under Trump than they do under the Biden presidency, and they just want to see if Trump is nuts. They just want to see if Trump is all these crazy things the

Democrats say he is, and they're going to see tonight he's not. They're going to see tonight he's the guy who did the job real well and made their life better, while Biden is a guy who did the job horribly and made their life worse. So there's only one thing that could move us off of this topic of the most important debate in American political history. Well,

let me say, of our lifetimes. We can argue the rest, and that is this very important development in Colorado, because I talked at link yesterday about how great and important Tuesday Night's results were to the rebirth of the GOP in Colorado and reasserting itself eventually being able to win state wide again. And part of that now is the move to oust Dave Williams as party chair.

So Todd Watkins from the State Central Committee, who authored the letter to Chairman Dave Williams that we read on Are yesterday is able to join us right now, so I want to take full advantage of that. Todd, Welcome to the Dan Caplis show. Hey, thank you, mister capitalist. Glad to be here. Man, you just aged me ten years, but appreciate the thought. Please do call me Dan. But so Todd, we read your letter to Dave Williams on Area yesterday, so I won't repeat that now.

It basically calls for a meeting of the Central Committee in order to vote on austing Dave. But you're the expert. You're right in the middle of this. Please tell folks what you're doing and why. I've never been accused of being an expert, but I'll take it. So this is provided for in the State Party's bylaws. The Central Committee can call a special meeting for any purpose that it wants on twenty five percent of the body requesting the meeting,

which we have provided the request. The purpose for the meeting is to hold a vote to remove Chairman Dave Williams from his position as the chair of the party, and that requires sixty percent of the State Central Committee to do that. Answer. Yeah, that's a very simple process of it. Has there been any response to your letter requesting requiring that vote. Yeah, yeah, quite a bit. Actually. Of course the media has picked this up across

the state. The seeking support for it has been very well received in we're very comfortable that we have sixty percent at least of the book committee to dismiss Chairman Williams. Do you think Chairman Williams is going to agree to hold the vote? Oh no, no, they're not going to. They're already making overtures that they're not going to. They're they're questioning the validity of the of

the petition with the signatures. Uh, they're asking for you know, names and all of the metadata behind it, where the where the names came from? I responded, simply, you're the you're the leadership of the party. These are your own members. If you want to call them and ask them,

go ahead. But they've already made overtures previously to this, uh a week plus that they would essentially publicize all of those who supported this, So I was going to get wasn't going to give them help with emails and addresses. They can look that up on their own. They they hold all the

records for who is a member of their committee. So wow, and how how pathetic that is, you know, threatening to publicize the names of the Central Committee members who want to vote on whether to oust you, rather than just addressing the issue on the merits. That doesn't sound like greatlyleadership. I'm not going to argue with you there, Dan. Yeah. I would also like to point out that, so they were delivered the petition yesterday, they

have ten days from yesterday to call this meeting. If they do not, any member of the Central Committee can call this meeting at the expense of the state Party. We have fifteen days. The call has to come out fifteen days prior to the meeting, but the meeting must occur thirty days within thirty days of the call. So if they don't call this meeting, we will

call it, Todd Watkins, our guest. And when you say you'll call it mechanically, that simply means that any member of the Central Committee can say, Hey, we're going to We're going to meet on Saturday, July whatever at ten o'clock at the high school. Be there and we'll take our vote. That's right, Okay, Okay, do you expect they'll go to court

to try to block you? Surprise me, but you know I've I've done this before with the kind of in reverse order where the previous administration held a meeting, held a special meeting to take over the El Paso County organizational meeting in February of twenty twenty three. That did go to court, and the court ruled that we're not it wrong jurisdiction. We don't have any place here in this political internal interested So I think I think they know that to be

the case. They can they can take it to court. I pretty confident that Judges cann't dismiss it, just like he dismissed Al Paso County's case. Do you think the vote will occur before the Republican National Convention by just pure math in the time hacks, No, it'll be after. Okay, well, when do you expect the vote will be? Mathematically? Uh, interest real world because you've obviously got all these moving pieces that you're dealing with.

Yeah, I mean, you know, so, I believe July sixth is the tenth day, so you know, you got you make the call has to occur within thirty days, so you're looking really August at the latest, I suppose, but it would it would happen after the uh, the then sure, because you have to you have to give it least fifteen days notice. So so if we say if we called this meeting on July seventh, we couldn't call it for the next day, he has to understood, you

know, we get least fifteen days out. And my final question, what percentage of the Central Committee if the vote was held today do you believe would vote to remove Chairman Williams over sixty percent? Yeah? Yeah, well yeah, I mean you've you've probably uh, he had taken the temperature of the of the state party just well by observations, did you see where it stands?

And I would have to believe that that number is going up with the will of the people being expressed in Chairman Williams home area, and these are largely GOP voters on primary night, with the absolute she lacking that he took, I think that has probably further weaken disposition. Yeah. I mean I'm in El Paso County, so you know some home hometown kid, I guess

yeah, And I mean the clerk sends us all the daily data. I think the county had twenty eight point twenty point ish percent voter turnout, which is better than I think we're expecting it. Yeah, the Republicans even out numbered the unaffiliateds in turnout, and you saw what happened in the D five race. And if I may add, I mean we held this, we held onto this petition to wait for the primary resultsking that well, let's see

what the people say. I mean, if the people, if the people vote with their current administration and their their st their brand of politics and leadership, then I guess you know they've spoken, and uh, we are the Republican Party, and you know we are guaranteed a Republican small art form of government. So I mean that would be the appropriate thing to do that. If the people disagree with that, yeah, then we're done here. We we we you know, lick our wounds and go on and say, well,

see what happens next. Nope. I believe that people are in favor of this move, and I think that we kind of have an obligation to, uh to respect that right well and do this. I think you're absolutely right that people have spoken. I think in a lot of different ways. So you know, just as a Coloraden and a Republican, I appreciate what

you're doing. It's not personal with Dave. I actually kind of like Dave, but for all the reasons that have been stated, he has got to go as party chair for the cause, all of the causes that we're also committed to. Thank you, Todd Watkins. Look forward to the next conversation. Thank you. You take care of that? Is that Todd Watkins say when we come back. It is all debate all the time. CNN engaging in some very very concerning behavior about tonight, to the point where the White

House Correspondence Association, pretty far left group, is stepped in. They're furious with CNN and they're concerned about what's about to happen. You're on the Dan Capla Show and now back to the Dan Kaplas Show podcast. This is a tough business. So you're a tough guy, and we need to have a leader that is for real top you're never going to be president, and I insulting your way to Let's see, I'm at forty two and you're at three,

so somehow I'm doing better. Somewhere I'm doing better. You know, you started off all the hits, yet you're moving over further and further. Pretty soon you're going to be off. The end is that the President Trump you want tonight. I got my answer to that, but first we have to talk about something that is deeply, deeply concerning. And I'm the guy who's been on air all week telling you, hey, wait a second, to CNN is going to be more fair to Trump. They're not going to

be completely fair. Obviously they want him to lose and they hate him viscerally, but they're going to be more fair to Trump than people think and all of this and that, well, there's been a development that has to has to really undermine any honest person's confidence in CNN for tonight. This is coming from the White House Correspondence Association. This is a liberal group. Here's the headline in the Washington Post. White House Correspondence blast CNN for debate access snub.

The association representing White House reporters says to the network should allow a pull reporter to be in the closed studio where Biden and Trumpell debate. Now, before I get into the Washington Post story, this is obvious, right. There is no legitimate reason whatsoever to keep a poll reporter out of this auditorium, out of this arena where the debate is going to occur. The only conceivable reason to keep the reporter out is to prevent the reporting of true facts

that are likely to be bad for Joe Biden. This is fundamentally dishonest, fundamentally Unamerican. And you've even got the lefty press stepping up and squalling about it right now, which they should. And here's part of the Washington Post take on it. The White House Correspondence Association criticized CNN for not allowing a designated poll reporter to be in the room as the network produces Thursday's presidential debate.

The absence of a pool reporter representing the larger White House Press Corps is notable because there will be no audience present for the debate, which is being held then a closed studio in Atlanta. I'll interject here, so get this. So CNN now no audience, no witnesses, no witnesses whatsoever to anything that may happen in there when the cameras are off. Why think about that? What conceivable justification could there be for that other than to protect Joe Biden.

The piece goes on, the White House Pool has a duty to document, report, and witness the president's events and his movements on behalf of the American people. The pool is there for the what ifs in a world where the unexpected does happen. A pool reporter is present to provide context and insight by direct observation and not through the lens of the television production. And then

it goes on to describe a bunch of stuff quote. A pool reporter is there to observe what is said and done when microphones are off, or when either candidate is not seen on camera but may speak, gesture, move, or engage in some way. And then the story goes on to say in the post, how you know, the Correspondence Association has been pushing CNN on this for a while, So think about what's happening here. You've got a president in Biden who has repeatedly seized up in public. He's had these bizarre

moments where he just starts spewing gobbledegook. He has times where he wanders aimlessly. And now CNN is keeping all witnesses out of the room other than CNN personnel. So it would just be Donald Trump saying, hey, wait a second. During the break, you know, Biden started babbling like a child. Biden wandered off and they had to go grab him. All of this behavior, all of this information should it happen, you know, being highly

relevant to the American people. So think about what CNN is doing. CNN is intentionally intentionally eliminating witnesses from the room in case Biden engages in any of the behavior we've seen so often from him recently, any of it off camera. It's just one of the worst things I've seen in the history of journalism. How much of this, Dan, do you suspect has been coordinated between CNN and the Biden White House? One hundred percent? Yeah. Yeah.

And then now there's another question out there and a Texter hits it. There are several people saying, Dan, don't forget about the two minute delay of the debate. I would have led with that if we can source it. Here. Here's the thing. All over the internet right now, including x there are these reports that CNN is instituting a one to two minute delay. If that is true, it falls into the same bucket that I was just talking about, you know, just just a blatant dereliction of duty for any

journalist, any broadcaster, a blatant effort to protect Biden, etcetera. The problem is maybe you can source it directly. I can't source that report right now. I see it all over the internet, but I cannot find an original source. I cannot see any confirmation from CNN. It may be out there and I've just missed it. But if it's out there, tell me where it is, and I'll let everybody else know, because that would be

equally horrific if CNN was putting in a one minute delay. Listen, we got seven seconds here, right, and so we're on a seven second delay. Everybody's on a seven second delay, right, Maybe ten might be ten, Okay, But here's the point. The justification for that is if a caller utters some obscenity or something, or yet, we're not allowed to me. You think I would I was going to do that. I would have

done that thirty years ago. But no. But here's the point. There is no justification for a one second delay, not even a one second delay in this debate tonight, because if one of these candidates was to utter an obscenity that's normally not permitted, it would be permitted because of the news context. If the President of the United States or the presumptive GOP nominee utters an obscenity and that context. It's news and it may be aired, so there's

no justification for any delay tonight. All I'm telling you is I cannot find credible sourcing for the report that it's going to be a one to two minute delay. We'll continue to work on that. Does it really quick, Dan? Does it change your opinion as to whether Bash and Tapper will be even

handed, fair or try to be tonight? No? And here's why, because I come back to their self interest and what I expect from Bash and Tapper is that they will ask equally tough initial questions of both Trump and Biden the follow up questions. Sorry, I'm just hitting puberty. My voice is changing. The follow up questions are the only thing that matter. The initial questions don't matter at all. Anybody can duct a question, and it's all

about the follow up questions. The follow up questions to Trump will be tougher than the follow up questions to Biden, but not by as large a margin as expected for the reasons we've discussed before. But CNN at this point cannot justify what it's doing. You're listening to the Dan Kapliss Show podcast. He's had the gall to go World Trade Center, came down the mother for that hold on. He's had the gall to go after my mother. It's not

keeping. I won the lottery when I was born sixty three years ago. Looked up, but I saw my mom. Mom. My mom is the strongest woman I know. She's just not a See. That's the I'm sorry, that's the Trump I want tonight. I understand the danger in that, but I want the animated Trump tonight, not the approach. Not the approach at the first twenty twenty debate that was disastrous, that that kind of rude, constant, interrupting to no point. It's that's not what I want tonight.

But I want the fully alive Trump. I want the energized, vibrant, funny Trump. I think if they try to suppress Trump and make them too quote presidential, then at that point you lose a lot of that energy. And frankly, I don't think he'll be a sharp I don't know how

it is for you. Everybody's different, right, but they're an awful lot of people, and I think Trump's one of them that the more animated, the more intense they are, the sharper and quicker they are So that's the Trump I want to see tonight with a healthy dose of humor as well, because think about the contrast. Now, I know Biden's not relevant tonight. He's not going to be their nominee. We all know that, but it still is a very helpful contrast. And whoever the DEM nominee is going to

be is going to be. Obviously, everybody is younger than Biden, at least younger acting and performing. So I think it's very important that Trump be his vigorous self tonight because whether it's Obama or Newsome or whomever, the Dem nah many is going to be younger and more energetic than Biden. So yeah, I want to see the Trump in full tonight. I got an update on the alleged delay that we've been talking about trying to source. Dan.

Let me prefaces with a question for you. Do you think the communications and PR team for CNN are morons or idiots? Those are my only two choices. Are they morons or idiots? Yes or no? Yes or no question? Do you think they don't know? Okay, I don't even know who the light after this? Either they're being intentionally deceptive or they're stupid beyond words. No, they're not stupid. Okay, here we go. They may be smrons, smart people acting moronically. So this Patrick Webb, he's like

an independent journalist. I think he tweeted out the following breaking CNN will implement a one to two minute delay for tonight's presidential debate instead of the standard seven second delay, potentially allowing time to edit parts of the broadcast. Their response, CNN pr this is false. The debate will begin live at nine pm Eastern. So they didn't directly adds. What they're stupidly apparently answering is no, it's going to start on time. There won't be a delay. I

won't go to nine oh two and start that it'll start on time. That's not the question, you morons. That is will there be a delay in the broadcast transmission of the ninety minute debate throughout? They know that they have to know that and listen. I understand that it would be easy for CNN to say no, there will be no delay, or no, there will be a seven second delay. By the way, my position is there shouldn't be any delay, not even a millisecond. But they didn't say that directly.

Right at the same time, Ryan, I can't find any confirmation anywhere that there will be a delay tonight. I cannot find that confirmation what I can find, And if you're joining the show now, thank you. This is very important. CNN is in fact barring all witnesses, all witnesses from that room that they're not allowing in even a press pool reporter. Obviously there

will be no audience. And so the White House correspondence is so ciation of a left leaning group is outraged about that and saying, wait, we have to have a reporter in there. We have to be able to report on what happens during breaks, what happens when it's not on camera, And they don't say it, but it's obvious that when you've had a presentent who's frozen up many times in public now and wandered off, they need to be able to report if that happens. So my position as CNN has no legitimate reason

to keep a pull reporter out of that room. And I'll bet you, I'll bet you another tomahawk, my friend, that they do relent and they allowed the pull a reporter in because now they've been busted right now that it's a national story. They've been busted. Everybody can see they're trying to protect Biden, and I think they're going to have to let a pull a reporter

in. Please focus on the stupid Why would anybody who has access to the CNN Communications pr X account reply with that idiotic response listen that it will start on time, that that was the incident. I get it if if you're in front of a jury right now, you would win an argument that that response by not directly refuting the allegation admits it, you would win on that.

But all I'm saying is I can't find any independent confirmation what may be going on there is maybe as CNN was planning some substantial delay and now they're going to rethink that. But again, I have seen no confirmation that there was ever any delay planned. We'll find out together, right, I mean, we're going to I'm going to be able to find out. Dan they could have totally dismissed that with a direct right response. Now podcast will not

be delayed throughout I hear you. They have to know that was the accusation. Very good reasoning. I agree with that. All I'm saying is I can't look our listeners in the microphone and say there's going to be a one to two minute delay without being able to confirm that somewhere. You consider that confirmation the failure to directly deny it, and I accept that. I mean, I accept the logic behind that. Let's see, Oh, we've got

so many texts coming in. Dan, you keep saying CNN wants Biden out, So why would they do that or do you think they want info on him so they can use it to blackmail him in the future. Great, great thinking by this, Texter. Listen above all, CNN wanted this debate. This is the only debate I can remember presidential that isn't run by the Presidential Commission. So CNN now has this lottery win, right, they own it. When you watch it on Fox tonight, it will say CNN on

the screen, the CNN debate. So maybe it's something that CNN agreed to to be able to get the debate, because obviously the Biden camp doesn't want any witnesses in there to what Biden may do during breaks. Yeah, maybe it's something they agreed to. I don't think there's any question CNN wants Biden

out of this race. CNN hates Trump, they want Trump defeated, and they know that Biden is he's not going to make it to election day as a remotely credible option, Dan great opportunity for Tump actually show the quote threat to democracy. Boy, that is such a timely text. A tremendous poll. There's been a lot of good polling come out today for President Trump, and one of those is Washington Post that shows that on the issue of who

do you trust more to deal with the threat to democracy? By an eleven point March and forty four to thirty three, voters trust Trump more than Biden to deal with the threat to democracy, as they should because the threat to democracy is Biden and the left. And do you think there will be a tape delay or will it truly be live on the debate? I expect at this point that if in I underline, if they had planned to delay, that it will now either be live or have kind of a typical seven second

delay. Again, my position is there's no justification for a seven second delay. Those only exist in case somebody swears on air, And if somebody swore during the debate, it would be newsworthy, it would be permitted to be broadcast. So I don't think they I don't think they can justify a one second delay, and I don't think they can justify keeping out a pool reporter. Dan, So, now that that's not public my White House Correspondence Association,

do you think CNN will relent and let a pool reporter do? Okay? Yes? I help you, so, yes. And if they don't, what does that tell you? Uh huh? Because what's what's the downside? In the words of Donald Trump, you what the hell do you have to lose? Yeah, what's the downside of allowing a pool reporter? He's the president of the United States, that the people of the United States have a right to know what happens in there, and it shouldn't be in the

control of CNN only to decide what the people get shown. Yes. So no. And you know, if there are those freeze up moments, et cetera for Biden, they are most likely to happen during breaks or the wandering off or whatever. So now I think they'll have to relent now that they've been busted. Dan, I'm praying that Biden's people don't overjuice him and give him an aneurysm on National TV. That would be horrendous, not knowing what their secret sauce is. Yeah, there's no way to comment on the risk

of this or that. Here's what we do know. Logically, if if medically, they could do every day what they do for these special occasions to get him better, they would be doing it every day. That's a great point. So whatever they're doing must be something that is too dangerous to repeat every day. Eight five five Z five A two five five comeback will take calls tremendous text, red hot sound. Maybe one of the most important days

in American political history. You're on the Dan Capla Show and now back to the Dan Kaplass Show podcast. It's just awfully good that someone with the temperament of Donald Trump is not in charge of the law in our country, because you'd be in jail, Secretary Clayton, That's the Trump I want tonight, not the Trump of the first twenty twenty debate, but that Trump where sense

of humor is fully alive. Not that the rude, nonsensical to no end interrupting, but that kind of intellectual aggressiveness, that sense of humor so important that we have him fully alive tonight, in control, yes, but fully alive and listen, we all know that if you you know from your own life, if you're going to be out there and you're going to be living in full and you're going to be living out loud, sometimes you're going to go outside the lines that there is no way to do it perfectly. There's

no perfect balance. You're always going to err on one side or the other. I'd rather have him air on the living out loud side, but not that ugly, rude, nonsensical interrupting that we saw in twenty There's a big difference between that and what you just hurt that flashback from sixteen, and there are plenty of others out there eight five to five for zero five eight two five five if you just joined us. Some very concerning news about the behavior

of CNN. White House Correspondence Association, a lefty or left leaning group blasting CNN because, get this, they're refusing to allow witnesses in the CNN studios to see what goes on during breaks or what goes on that may not be captured by CNN cameras. They will not allow a pool reporter in when the President of the United States is engaged in an official function. That's insane. And there's no legitimate reason for it. Obviously it's being done to cover for

Biden. So i'd bet you tomahawk that yeah, they. CNN is forced to relent at this point because it's so obvious now you know that they are on Biden's team, when even the left is going after him for that. So we'll keep you updated on that. There is no official sourcing available for the claim that CNN will have a one to two minute delay tonight. I don't think a single second delay is justified for the reasons we've just discussed Texter.

We have such smart listeners. Dan Trump should wear a body camo. Great. I love it when there are no rules against that, right, I don't think. So they can't bring pre written notes, right, They get a pen and a pad of paper in front of them and that's it.

Think about how much that favors Biden to not have the notes, right, Trump doesn't need them, But it's such a help to Biden to not have the notes, because that it would just short circuit what's left of his brain if he's trying to keep track of what's in his notes and look down at his notes. So the Biden camp was very smart it may have even

been their requirement that there be no notes. And one thing that I hope Donald Trump can do when he walks right up to the podium immediately is write down the names of the young women who have been raped on the murderer by illegals here and then pop quiz Joe hotshot. Yeah, can you need any one of these young women that have been murdered by your illegal migrants that have

been here. I love the thinking behind that. If he's going to do that, he has to be prepared for Biden to named them, and then then he has to have a follow up line of attack on Biden there, because you've got to believe they've spent half of their what is it two months of prep now for Biden just drilling those names into his head, or maybe just one name, yeah, which he's a remember he didn't get right at the State of the Union called her Lincoln Riley, not Lincoln Yeah Riley.

Yes, So no, you can bet that's been half of his prep. But and you tell me eight five to five for zero five A two five five text d an five seven seven three nine, What what kind of creative move would you like to see from Trump? Tonight that you think nobody sees coming. Would love to hear from you on that text, d An five seven seven three nine if you don't feel like calling Texter Dan. What about Biden getting administered medication during the debate, Yeah, another reason why they wouldn't

want to have, you know, a poll reporter in there CNN. I think clearly being part of Biden's team is is it? You can't confer with advisors, But there's no rule again getting medication. I doubt we'll see that because again, the other debates, the other circumstances we've seen where Biden is better than he normally is. And I know it was weird and bizarre and angry old man. Can we get some angry old man for the five o'clock

hour or two? You know, the SNL stuff we've been reallying. Yeah, but like State of the Union, he was able to get through that. What was it probably about sixty three sixty four minutes. But here's the point. State of the Union was all scripted. You know, Biden wasn't being actively questioned, He didn't have that extra stimulation. I still think,

you know, tomorrow the reporting will be Biden did better than expected. I still think we'll see that, but it won't matter because it's all about Trump. It's all about how well Trump do us. People of Merrick already know their lives are better under Trump. But the people don't follow this stuff every day like you do. They just want to see, Hey, is he the nut job? The left says he is, and that's what they're tuning in to see. Tonight. Is just all about Trump. Unless Biden does

have one of those really gary horrible freeze up moments. If he does that, Ryan, then yeah, then he's probably out within a week. If he does what he typically does in these things and he's better than expected, then he's out by the convention. Speaking of which, to see the latest evidence in my favor today the widespread reporting that Michelle Obama is not going to campaign for Joe Biden. Now, do you think the leak of that story

is the timing is coincidental? No? Wait a minute, hold on the Democratic conventions in Chicago, right, this is the backyard of Michelle Obama. She's gonna be one of the featured speakers one of those nights, you would think, right, she has to be. Well, the reporting is she's not going to campaign for a bit campaigned for Bibles, right, but would she appear at the convention as he featured the speaker. That's a fair question.

All I'm saying is the leaking of that story coming at the same time that Gavin Newsom is moving back to Marin County so his kids can be in one school, and Jared Poulis's resurface in National TV. All these vultures are circling, right. They're all just positioning themselves for the moment very soon when Biden will not be officially will no longer be the presumptive nominee. And and it's so interesting to listen to this sound. This is just from twenty but

but listen to Biden in this sound as well. The issue is the American people should speak. You should go out and vote. You're in voting, now, vote and let your senators know.
