Hi, listeners of the Daily Gospel Exegesis Podcast, thanks so much for your ongoing support for this ministry. And welcome to this special announcement episode where I wanted to share some exciting news about a couple of new podcasts that we're launching. So I wanted to tell you a bit about these podcasts. It might be the kind of thing that you're interested in. If you like the approach that the Daily Gospel Exegesis Podcast takes, then you might be

interested in this as well. So these two new podcasts are going to be about church documents. We're going to look at Catholic Church teachings themselves. Now, the first thing I want to say about this is I want to assure you that Logical Bible Study is going to continue to do everything that it's already been doing in terms of studying the Bible. The main focus of this ministry will always be looking at the text of Scripture and helping people understand what that text is.

So everything is going to keep running as it has. The Daily Gospel Exegesis Podcast will keep running as it has. The bonus exegesis episodes are going to continue to be published on Patreon. I'm also working on creating verse by verse exegesis in chronological order for all of the four of the Gospels and making them available as audio packages. As you know, that's already available for the Gospel of Mark, and we're getting closer to having that available for the

other Gospels as well. So that's another project that we're working on because lots of you have asked to have a chronological study of each of the Gospels, and we want to make that available to you. In addition to that, I'm also doing some verse by verse exegesis of other books of the Bible as well as the Gospels. So there's lots of Bible study projects on the go that Logical Bible Study Ministry is doing.

And it's largely thanks to the support of many generous donors on Patreon who make it possible for us to keep all of these resources happening and also to launch new projects like this one. So thank you so much to those of you who have donated to the Logical Bible Study Ministry. So we are at a point where we can launch a couple of new projects. 2 new podcasts are going to be launched and I want

to tell you a bit about them. Both of them are going to involve reading key documents of the church. So listening to the text of the key documents of the church. Why are we doing that? Why are we going to have podcasts focusing on church documents? Well, I think it's an extension of a couple of key goals of the Logical Bible Study Ministry. Firstly, one of the focuses of this ministry and the Daily Gospel Exegesis podcast has always been to help people read and understand the text.

We're not doing social commentary, we're not doing political commentary. We want to help people understand the very text of the Bible. When it comes to the Bible, I find that many Catholics have heard the text of the Bible, but they don't understand it. And the goal of Daily Gospel Exegesis is to help people

understand that text better. When it comes to Catholic Church documents, like papal documents and documents from the various dicasteries and other teaching bodies of the church, I find that there's a related but different problem. And the problem with that is many Catholics have never heard the texts at all. They've heard the names of these famous papal documents or famous church documents, and they might see a bit about it in the news, but they've never actually read

the documents. I think it's so important as Catholics that we do get to hear the text of these documents. And so that's what we want to do in these new podcasts. We want to give you the text of these church documents because a lot of it relates specifically to Catholic teaching, provides clarification on Catholic teaching, and applies it into new circumstances. And it's so important that we as

Catholics know our faith. There's a second reason why we want to focus on making these podcasts about church documents, which is this ministry has always been about making podcasts and resources which fill a gap in the Catholic media world. We want to produce something that's not already out there. There's lots of podcasts out there which do general Catholic theology or do news updates or

interviews about theology. The goal with daily Gospel exegesis was to provide something that's not there. I went looking myself to see if I could find a verse by verse exegesis of the mass readings and I couldn't find it. So that's why we created daily Gospel exegesis to give you a breakdown verse by verse every single day in audio form of the

mass readings. So as I look around the Catholic podcast world, there is no Catholic podcast out there which is giving people the text of church documents. There's some podcasts which do brief commentary occasionally on church documents when they're released, and looking at old podcast archives, it looks like a couple of people started to maybe think about making a podcast where they'd look at some church documents, but they didn't get very far. And as a Catholic, I wish there was one.

I wish there was a way that I could listen to key church documents in audio form on the go. It's not there. And this ministry is all about helping fill the gap and helping serve the people of God by providing audio resources. So there's going to be two podcasts which both focus on reading out key church documents. So I'll tell you about the two of them and the difference between the two.

So the first podcast is going to be called Voice of the Magisterium. That's going to be a free podcast available for everyone on all of the podcast platforms, similar to daily gospel exegesis. So in the Voice of the Magisterium podcast, I'm going to read out the text of various church documents. It's going to be an assortment of texts, some from Pope's, some from the De Castre for the Doctrine of the Faith, other

Canon law documents. And these will be fairly regular podcasts, but not every day like daily gospel exegesis. So we're going to read the text of those documents. Some of the documents are long, some of them are short. And to get you as listeners involved, if you're listening on Spotify, you'll have the option to vote on which document you

would like to hear next. This podcast will be particularly suited to those who like to listen or would like to listen to church documents while they're driving or while they're travelling in some way. If they haven't got a chance to sit down and read a church document for 30 minutes. And most of us don't, but you might have time in your day to listen to one. That's what this podcast is

going to be designed for. Initially, we're going to focus on documents after the time of Vatican 2, and there's plenty of them that we can look at. And over time, the hope is to build up a catalogue of audio recordings of various key church documents on The Voice of the Magisterium podcast. You can listen to that for free at any time. The second podcast we're going to launch is called the Magisterium Update. Now, that's going to be a podcast for those who are Patreon supporters of the

ministry. The goal of this podcast is going to read out the text of the most recent magisterial documents. So you probably know that the Pope and the de Castries release documents fairly regularly, and you'll often see media coverage of those documents. Whenever a magisterial document like that is released, I'm going to read the text out and it's going to be available shortly

after it's published. So as an example, at the time of this announcement in February 2025, the Magisterium update has just released audio versions of a document from the De Castre for the Doctrine of the Faith released in the last couple of months called the Queen of Peace, which is the Church's most official declaration on the supposed appearances of Mary at Magicori. And also the final document from the Synod on Synodality, which both both of these documents, if

you're a Catholic, you've probably heard these documents talked about, but you may never have actually heard the text of these documents. These cutting edge documents are available to you right now through the Magisterium Update podcast. On top of that, the De Castro for the Doctrine of the Faith a couple of days ago, at the time of this recording at the end of January, released a document about artificial intelligence. And so now we have a church teaching about artificial intelligence.

It's a long document. So again, not many people will have the time to sit down and read the document. But if you want to hear an audio version of that document, that is the next one that I'm currently working on recording and that will be available to you very soon on the Magisterium

Update podcast as well. And again, this is exactly the kind of thing that I wish was out there in the Catholic world, because I often see a lot of commentary on documents as they're released, but there's nothing out there which just reads the document to you. So this podcast will give you the text of the document, so then you're more prepared to understand some of the debate and dialogue that might be happening after the document is released.

So this is going to be available to those who are Patreon supporters of the ministry at the superfan level, that is $30.00 per month or more. And if you're a supporter at that level, you also get access to all of the other bonus audio resources that we're already producing on Patreon.

So you'll get access to all of the bonus Gospel exegesis episodes, you'll get access to all of the Catechism class recordings, and you'll also get access to this new The Magisterium Update podcast if you're willing to support the ministry at that level. There's currently a 70% discount available for your first month as a Patreon supporter at the time of releasing this introductory episode.

So if you're interested, you might like to sign up for the first month at the heavily discounted rate and then see if it interests you. And then of course, you're not committed to sticking with Patreon if it doesn't interest you after the first month. So there's two new podcasts, Voice of the Magisterium. You can look for that on any podcast platform, and the Magisterium Update, which is available through the Patreon page for the ministry. You can find a link for that in the show notes.

Both of those podcasts are just going to have very brief commentary on the documents. The main goal of these podcasts is to just read out the text of the documents so you can hear the text yourself and so you can learn the text yourself. So hopefully that's the kind of thing you'll be interested in. As I said, the ministry is going to keep doing everything that it

has been doing. These daily Gospel exegesis episodes are going to keep being released, but there's now another resource available to you if you've ever wanted to go a bit deeper in the Catholic faith and learn what the text actually is of these key church documents that you've probably heard a lot about. Thanks so much for your ongoing support of the ministry. Check out the links in the show notes to get some more information about these new podcasts.
