Hello and welcome back to the podcast! Today’s word is"time-sensitive, one more time: time sensitive." Let me give you some clues so you can guess the meaning:
Imagine your boss emails you a task and writes, “Please handle this immediately. It’s time-sensitive.”
Or your friend asks you to go to the post office with her to send a package, saying, “It has to arrive tomorrow. It’s time-sensitive!” So, can you guess?
Time-sensitive describes something that must be done or dealt with quickly because there is a deadline or limited time.
Here are a few more examples:
📚 “My thesis submission is time-sensitive. If I miss the deadline, I’ll have to wait a whole semester.”
🍰 “I baked a cake for the party, but delivery is time-sensitive — it melts in warm weather!”
It's a great word to use at work, in school, or even in everyday tasks. It's formal enough for professional situations, but also totally fine for daily use.
🎯 And here’s a quick question for you to end with: Have you ever missed something important because you didn’t realize it was time-sensitive? Or have you ever pulled it off just in time? Please don’t forget to share your ideas, comments or feedback using the gmail address provided
