Hello and welcome to Daily English. It’s the weekend, and we’re gonna learn English through a powerful idea. Sometimes, the hardest part of success is simply starting. We wait, we hesitate, we tell ourselves “later.” But every big achievement begins the same way — with one small decision to move forward. That’s why today’s concept is so powerful. It’s called The 5 Second Rule, created by Mel Robbins. And it’s one of the simplest ways to beat procrastination and take control of your actions.

What Is It? Mel Robbins noticed something interesting: when you feel the urge to do something — get up, start studying, make a call — you have about five seconds before your brain talks you out of it.

Her solution? Count backward: 5-4-3-2-1… go. This little countdown interrupts doubt and pushes you to act before excuses win. It’s not about waiting for motivation. It’s about taking action. And action is the cure for procrastination.

We are revisiting a relevant phrasal verb today : Put Off The phrasal verb “put off” means to delay or postpone something you don’t feel like doing.

Examples: I kept putting off cleaning my room, but I used the 5 Second Rule to just start.
He put off studying so long that he had to cram all night.

Question for You: What’s one thing you’ve been putting off — and could you please try the 5 Second Rule to start today? And tell me: do you want more of these life concepts once or twice a week, or even more often? I’ll appreciate your comments cause that can help me make the content that you prefer
