Transcript

Hello and welcome to Daily English — Today’s idiom is: “play it fair.”

Imagine two kids playing chess. One cheats, moves pieces when no one’s looking —
but the other says, “Hey, play it fair!”
What do you think that means?

To play it fair means to behave honestly and treat others equally — especially in competition, work, or relationships.  It’s about following the rules, not taking unfair advantage.

Examples:
Real champions play it fair — they respect the game, win or lose.
In business, success only lasts when you play it fair with your clients and team.
Governments must play it fair with their citizens — that’s what builds trust.
Parents should play it fair — one rule for everyone, not just for the kids.
💬 Question:
Do you think people today play it fair enough — in work, politics, or relationships?
And how do you make sure you do?
