Hi everyone, and welcome to Daily English. Today’s expression is short, strong, and empowering. It’s “own it.”

One more time: “own it.”

She made a mistake during the presentation. She paused, smiled, and said,
“Let me correct that.” She didn’t panic. She didn’t blame anyone. She just owned it.

So what does “own it” mean? To “own it” means to take responsibility for something — confidently and honestly.

It can be about: a mistake, a decision, your personality, your style, your truth
Let’s listen to some examples:

He forgot his friend’s birthday. Instead of making excuses, he said, “That’s on me. I’m sorry.”
 He owned it.

She has a unique style — bright colors, bold choices. When someone questioned it, she smiled and said, “I like it.” She owned it.

He admitted in the meeting, “I should have prepared better.” No drama. No blame. He owned it.

Owning something doesn’t make you weak. It makes you credible. It shows maturity. It builds trust.

Now it’s your turn: What’s something in your life you need to own — fully and confidently?

Thanks for listening to Daily English. Have a wonderful day, and see you tomorrow
