Episode description

On this episode Dave talks about how we no longer read ECGs, we interpret them. This is a fundamental concept and we interpret them within the clinical context of our patient.

Don't focus on recognizing patterns, you need to understand how to interpret various segments and morphologies. If you see a particular morphology you need to know why it is there, which vessel may contain the culprit lesion and how large is the area of myocardial risk.

Also in this Episode:

  • The skill of interpretation
  • ECG interpretation at 3am when you're tired
  • 2 Examples of what you might be missing
  • History presenting illness -> patient presentation -> interpret ECG
