Speaker 1

Ladies and gentlemen, Welcome to Wednesday Service, episode fourteen, brought to you by Cult the Conspiracy Podcasts. I'm your host, Josh Monday. If you don't know me, I'm a Christian rapper, devoted husband, father, and Army veteran. And if you're watching on a Patreon then you will see that I shaved my beard. It was a total accident. I had it

on a one. I was shaving and then my daughter was kind of I kind of took it off to kind of line it up, and I forgot and I was like talking to my daughter, eh, and shaved it right off. So anyways, you see my military face is what I he just look like in the Army all the time. So anyways, yeah, so thank you guys so much for the comments. My goodness. I have a few to go over and a few shout outs from Sunday Service. We have seven comments, Praise God. I have one from

Shannon Aiden. Okay, so thanks again for a good Bible study. What version of the Bible would you wreck? Men? I'm pretty new to all this, okay. So the one that I use on the show is the new King James version. You'll see some denominations that'll be King James only I see that they are, you know, if they're gonna change, like, if they're gonna come out with a new version of the Bible, it has to be at least ten percent different than the other one, you know, than the past one.

So I'm just letting you know that some people do feel that King James is the best represented version of the Bible. So you'll hear different different different people would say different things. But I use the new King James because for me, when I'm reading it to you guys, I want it to be easy to digest. I don't want you to be reading the Bible to you and you guys not be able to understand what I'm saying.

And sometimes when I'm reading the King James and it's not as fluent for me when i'm reading, So it doesn't like if you notice a lot on on the Bible studies that I'm doing. I'm reading through the Bible and I'm trying to do commentary and then read through and then i'm doing commentary, and I'm just gonna be honest sometimes that I slip up a little bit when I'm reading the King James version. I can do it.

But I think since there's people like you, Shannon, where some people are new to the Bible, others are probably veterans to the Bible that are listening to this. So I want to make sure that I compromise and I have a happy medium. So if I was just going King James only, then it might not be as easy for you or other people to digest. So I'm going with the New King James, which is a newer version than the King James, but it's a lot of it is very similar and there is it just flows more

nicely for me and easier to read. So I will let you know so that some other versions are a little watered down, so be careful, Shannon. Okay, not trying to talk bad about like a lot of different versions

of the Bible. But Shannon, what I do, what I'm doing my studies is I will read in different versions, you know, not all different versions, but I'll go to a few different versions to see what interpretation they used, and then I go back to something called the Strongs concordance, which you can find on Bible Hub, which is if you go to Bible hub. Let me see, let me see what the app is called, so I can recommend it for you. The app is a Blue Letter Bible, okay.

And when you go to Blue Letter Bible and you go to any versus in the Bible, you can click on a word and it'll give you the definition of that word. That is very, very good for studying. So what I would recommend is you go to your app store and download the BLB Blue Letter Bible app. It's blue. I hope you get the correct one. I don't want to lead you to some other thing, but it'll say BLB and it is the one that I use on If you guys have pat If you have Patreon, you

can see it on Patreon. If not, it's okay. You will be able to just google it if you have an issue with it. But that's a good one, Shannon. Okay, And since you're new to this, I really appreciate you sticking around and listening, and I recommend it because Shannon, I'm gonna tell you something that Romans ten seventeen says. It says faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the

Word of God. So when I'm doing this commentary and kind of going through the Bible with you, me just reading it to you and you digesting it is actually the nutrients. You know. It's kind of like it's similar. I'll just say this, it's very similar to if you're exercising right A to get physically strong, which I do like to lift weights. Uh, to get physically physically strong, you have to have food and nutrients, right, and it's

diet along with exercise, right. So the word of God, Shannon is Uh, it's going to be the food or the nutrients, and then the exercise in spiritually is going to be taking the stuff that you learned and putting it into action. It's called exercising your faith. So uh yeah, So I really recommend sticking around. Bible studies are very good and Shannon, if you ever have any questions, I don't know if you have an Instagram or Shannon, but you can you can always DM me at Josh Monday

Underscore Podcasts or Shannon. You can also email me at Josh Monday at RocketMail dot com. That's r O c K E T M a I L dot com. So I can assist you with any questions you may have. And if you're new to this, I want to make sure that I answer any questions that you have. Shannon, thank you and it's very nice to meet you. I'm Josh Monday and I'm so glad that I got to see your message. Justice Wabashaw. We made it. We're officially

four fists through the Torah. Yes. Amen, thank you for your faithfulness to God and your comment commitment to help deliver his word. Yes, God is so great. God bless you brother. I appreciate the comment. I Garza made it to the end. Yes, thank you. Thank you for sticking around. And Angela Kelly, I never knew that we were not supposed to make about Yeah, that's very interesting that that whole numbers twenty nine through thirty six, Angela was very interesting.

Some stuff I learned as well. I wonder why that is finished the Book of numbers. Yes, another great episode. Thank you God, bless you. Flicking a Boogers. Very interesting Spotify name. Thank you for your word sharing. This is my church. I never catch the live show but always catch it really does Oh it really does my heart good. Thanks again, thank you, Thank you Flicking Boogers. I haven't seen you comment yet, so thank you for commenting on Spotify. Alex and kayn Z, thank you so much. As well.

I really appreciate you so you listen to the end. Thank you, thank you, enjoyed it as usual. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I appreciate you, Flicking Boogers, thank you for your first comment. And I do enjoy seeing your guys' comments. So everybody that commented, please fill up this Luke eight through maybe eight through ten, whatever it's

gonna be, fill it up with comments. I really appreciate it, and it pushes us up the algorithm, and then we get new people listening like Shannon, and it looks like Flicking Booger says, you never missed it, so you probably have already been listening, just never commented. But I want to try to get as many new listeners as I can. This is not like, oh the more listeners I have, the more I get paid. That's not what it's about. I don't even get paid more if I have more listeners.

I don't even know how many people listen to it anyway, because it's on both conspiracies up channel. But I just want to say I wanted to get to as many people as possible, especially people in the conspiracy community, because it is much needed. There is the new Age swallowing up the conspiracy community. Uh Tartaria new age stuff. That's that's itchy, you know, like it's it's it's like honey

to the ears. They want to hear all this stuff and then they dig down, you know, the people will We'll tell them all these conspiracies and they use it at the conspiracy as bait and then they lead them to spirituality and they lead them away from the Word of God. I my whole goal since I started podcasting four years ago is to lead people to the Bible, to the truth, to Jesus, get them saved. You know. So if you guys can help me by commenting as many as you can, because it's it's it's gonna keep

this show on the air. As many comments as I get the better, you know why, because it pushes the algorithm up and it pushes it to more people. And it also will make it so that could Conspiracy keeps me on their platform because they have a bigger audience than I have on Josh Monday Christian Conspiracy podcast, so it will assist more people. Okay, so thank you everybody that comments, from Shannon to Justice to i Garza to Angela to Alex to flicking boogers. Even if you have

the funniest name on Spotify, I appreciate you. I like that name, dude is really funny. And then I appreciate everybody that commented on last week's last week's Wednesday service. So we're on episode fourteen this time, and we were on episode thirteen last time. Alex, Mitch, TC, Stavo, Angela, I Garza, Glenn and Shannon. You also commented last time. Thank you, thank you, God bless you. I really appreciate

you and I look forward to you guys's comments. And if you have any thing that you want to ever ask me, like I said, follow me on Instagram, Josh Monday, Underscore podcast and dm me. I actually answer everybody. I've never missed anybody ever and I have some people that definitely asked me questions. But if I don't know the answer, I promise you I will find it. So thank you, and we are now on. We are going to be on Luke eight today. Let me go ahead and share

the screen for those that are watching on video. And also, God healed my throat if it starts acting up at the end of the show that happened last time. Last time, I was like, I'm healed, and then by the middle of the show, I'm like, ah, so anyways, all right, so and soon I think I might be on a cult conspiracy show. They asked me, they invited me. I told them the times that I have to do because I have three shows that I'm running right now. My

time is limited. So hopefully soon I'll be on Jonathan and Jacob's actual show where they're interviewing me, and then you guys can hear some other stuff about me. All right, let's start this up. Let me get to my notes, and then those that also leave comments on Apple, I really appreciate you, speaker Box, any other people Patreon, anybody that has left any comments on Patreon, I appreciate you.

I don't really get to see Patreon like I get to see the Spotify because Spotify is available for the public. And like I said, this is not my platform. This is cult to conspiracies. And I'm just a guest okay, a guest speaker. So anybody, if I miss you on Patreon, I apologize, but I appreciate you commenting there as well. Thank you. Let's go to Luke eight and let me pull this up really quick. Boom, Luke. All right, there we go, Luke eight, I have it pulled up here,

there we go. I got those notes up and oops, keep those notes up. And also all right, coming right up here? Oops? Where is my regular notes? Okay, sorry, guys, I am just kind of making sure I'm set up before we start. And here we go. All right, So here's Luke eight. Since I don't start till then, let's go here Luke eight. Many women minister to Jesus Us. Now it came to pass. This is Luke eight one.

Now it came to pass afterward that he went through every city and village, preaching and bringing the glad tidings of the Kingdom of God. And the Twelve were with them, and certain women who had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities Mary called Magdalene, out of whom had come seven demons. And Joanna, the wife of Choosa Herod Stuart and Susannah and many others were provided for him for their substance. Okay, so it looks like Joanna the wife of Choosa Herod Stewart. So it looks like one of

Herod's Herod King Herod Stewarts. Joanna the wife of Choose. Yeah, so Choosah is one of Herod Stewarts, and the wife of one of Herod Stewart's is a follower of Jesus. That's awesome. Too bad Joanna, the wife of Joanna didn't get to talk to us, you know, convinced Herod that, you know, Jesus' is not you know, so he didn't think so bad about him because Herod wanted to actually kill Jesus. Could have put in a good word for him,

all right. So yeah, so not really much there. That's now we're going to go to the parable of the sower. So let me go to my other notes. Flipped to there. Wow, first fifteen minutes and my voice started going weird already, all right, So let's go to the parable of the sower. So we're at Luke eight, verse four. And when a great multitude had gathered and had come to him from

every city, he spoke by a parable. A sower went out to sow his seed, And as he sowed, some fell by the wayside, and it trampled down, and the birds of the air devoured it. So birds of the air sometimes are referring to Sometime birds of the air could be referring to demons. So I'm just letting you guys know that the birds of the air devoured it. Some fell on rock, and as soon as it sprang up,

it withered away because it lacked the moisture. Some fell among thorns, and the thorns sprang up with it and choked it. But others fell on good grounds, sprang up and yielded a crop of one hundredfold. When he had said these things, he cried, he who has ears, let him hear. So the parable of the sower is going to be explained by Jesus, and then I'll go to my notes. After that it says this is the purpose of parables. Then his disciples asked them, why what does

this parable mean? And he said to you, it is given to know the mysteries of the Kingdom of God. But to the rest it is given in parables, that seeing that that may not see, and hearing, they may not understand. Now the parable is this. The seed is the word of God. Those by the wayside are those who hear. Then the devil comes and takes away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and

be saved. M But the excuse me, but the ones on the rock, excuse me, but the ones on the rock are those who, when they hear, receive the Word with joy, And these have no root, who believe for a while, and in time the temptation and the time of temptation fall away. And now the ones that fell among the thorns are those who, when they have heard, go out and are choked with the cares, riches and

pleasure of life, and bring no fruit to maturity. But the ones that fell on the good ground are those who have heard the Word with a noble and good heart, keep it and bear fruit with patience. So it's it's it's cool how he how he kind of parallels the word with the seed, because a seed is alive and also it can bear fruit, right, and then also you know the tree will grow. So I think that's that's interesting.

So and I just want to say this. Some people think that each one of these explanations is is is how people are like for the rest of their life. But no, like, there's levels to becoming a believer, right, there's levels to it. Sometimes when you first get saved, you're gonna be on fire for the Lord, and you're gonna be you're gonna be devout the word and you're

gonna you're gonna be doing everything you can. But sometimes that fire slowly goes out sometimes then you know, sometimes you know in the beginning though it says this, but the ones, uh, but the ones on the rock of those when they hear receive the Word with joy and these have no root, who believe for a while and

in time of temptation fall away. See that's that's the ones that they first get saved, right because they hear the word, and that they hear it with joy, you know, because they're super excited, you know, to hear the word. But they have no root. You know, they don't have they don't have faith, they don't have like deep faith.

So soon as temptation comes, they fall away. If they were reading the Word every day, if they were into the Word every day and they're praying every day, and they were making that faith, that that shield of faith, because you know, like I said, faith come with by hearing and hearing by the word of God. If they were in the Word every day, then they would have more root, so their root would be good. And then when the temptation comes, they're not going to fall away.

They're going to resist the devil, so he should flee. See you put on the armor of God, and what is it. It's going to be the helmet of salvation, the breastplate of righteousness. It's going to be the guard of truth which holds everything together. And it's going to be the sandals of salvation, right and also I'm sorry, the sandals of the gospel message. Right. And then you have a sword, which is the word of God. That's your offensive weapon. And then you're going to have a shield.

And the more faith you have, the bigger the shield, and it's used to dods the wiles of the devil. How do you build faith well, obviously through prayer, supplication, but also by reading the Word of God Romans ten seventeen. Like I said earlier, faith cometh by hearing, hearing by the word of God. And it's also impossible to please God without faith. Faith is huge, right, So the root

is going to be faith. I believe, right. It says, who believe for a while, and in time tempatient fall away, and then it says, let's go to the top one those by the ways that are those who hear. Then the devil comes and takes away the word out of their hearts lest they should should believe and be saved. So these ones are one foot in the world, one foot in Christianity. Right. So they hear the word, and the devil's able to come and take away the word. Right,

so we have that the next one is going to be. Now, the ones that fell among thorns are those who, when they have heard, go out and are choked with cares, riches, pleasures of life, and bring no fruit of to maturity. So they go to church, right, they listen to the Bible, and then what happens is for the rest of the week they have the cares of riches, your job, taxes, pleasures in life, and they bring no fruit to maturity.

So they listen to the Word of God and they hear it, but they're not able to put it into action or exercise it. Right, they don't. They they're not We're bringing no fruit to maturity. Right. But the ones that fell on the good ground are those who, having heard the word with noble and a good heart, keep it and bear fruit with patience. So you see, those are the ones that you want to be. But I just want to put it this way. I've been in

every one of these positions. It's not like just it's not just you know, one of these soil types is in the you know, will be like your whole life, you're going to be like that. No, no, no, no, there's just different seasons of being a believer. So sometimes you'll be in that first category, you know, you know, in the beginning of your walk, and then as you start building faith, you kind of go to the next step, you know, and you know, temptation might hit you, you

might fall away the next one. You know, you might start, you know, getting a little bit more into the word. But but you know, you get these these the cares of riches pleasures, right, you know, you're basically your your your flesh starts taking over and then you can bring no future fruit to maturity. Obviously you want to be

in this fourth category. But the ones that fell on the good ground, right, that so the word fell on the good ground or the good heart, and having heard the word with the noble and good heart, kept it and bear fruit with patience. Right. So for some people their faith depends on their situation or condition or their circumstance. So that's kind of the ones that that would be in that category of you know with cares of riches,

pleasures of life, and bring no fruit to maturity. You know, their faith is depending on their their circumstances at the time, right like, Oh, God hasn't you know, God hasn't lived up to my expectations. He's not helping me as much as I feel like he should. You know that that's not how it works. You know, that's not how it should work at all. And that verse Romans ten sixteen through seventeen, it says, but they have not obebayed all the but they have not all obeyed the gospel. For

Isaiah says Lord, who has believed our report. So then faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. Yes, amen to that. And then we got another verse that I have right here written in my notes is two Timothy four, verses three through five. For the time will come when they will not endure sound action, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers, and they will turn their ears away from the truth and be turned aside

to fables. But you are watchful in all things and door inflictions. Do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry, so it's kind of telling you to be fruitful at the end there, right, all right, So now we're going to go to the parable of the revealed Light. This is gonna be luke. Let me see if there's any teaching points on that part on that that I can

kind of go over for you guys. Okay, Jesus tells a parable to a large crowd of a sewer who scatters seat on different types of soil, resulting in varied growth and yield. The parable illustrates the different responses to the word of God. So that's kind of what it is illustrating. It's illustrating how your heart reacts to the word of God. Okay, So that's kind of is that. And then let me see if I'm missing anything in

my notes places practical apputations, okay. And then for the parable of the sower, Jesus is the parable illustrate the different sponsor the word of God. The seed represents the Word, and the various types of soil represents the condition of the human heart. So that way you know exactly what that parable is referencing to. And next up we're going to have the uh oops, I don't want to lose that.

Now we have the the parable of the revealed light. Okay, so Luke eight verse sixteen, the parable of the revealed light. No one, when he has a lit lamp, covers it with a vessel or puts it under a bed, but sets it on a lamp stand for those who enter may see the light. For nothing is secret that will not be revealed, nor anything hidden that will not be

known and come to light. Therefore, take heed from how you hear, for whoever has to him more will be given, and whoever does not have, even what he seems to have, will be taken away. So the core message of this parable is he uses the image of a lamp to illustrate that truth and knowledge, like a lit lamp, are meant to be shared and seen, not hidden or concealed. So you don't want to conceal your light. You want to show your light. You don't put it underneath the bed.

You want to have everybody see your light. Jesus uses the analogy of a lamp to represent the message of the Gospel, which is intended to illuminate and guide people. So the lamp is represent the message of the gospel. So you don't want to hide the gospel message. You want to spread the gospel message. You don't want to have hidden knowledge or esoteric or hold it. You want to spread it and tell everybody about the good News.

The parable suggests that if someone lights a lamp, they wouldn't cover it or put it under a bed, but rather place it on a stand so that everyone in the house can see the light. Implication to followers, this paraboley has a powerful message for those who have received the truth and knowledge of the Gospel, they're called to share it openly and let their lives be a light

to others. And then Matthew five fourteen through sixteen actually expands on this idea, stating that believers are the light of the world and are called to let their good deeds shine so that others might see them and glorify God. So we don't do good deeds to boast. We don't do good deeds to brag. We don't do good deeds so someone comes up to us and says, hey, Josh, great job. No, we do it so that we should people. We do it to glorify God, first of all, but

also to show people. You know, we want people to say, what does that guy have that I don't have. Why does he have that kind of person like, why is he always smiling? Why does he have joy? Why does he have peace? Why does he always assist people and help people without wanting any recognition. Well, you know why, because I'm saved. You know, that's kind of what you want to tell them, you know, because I'm saved and you can also be saved. It's a way to start

conversation and get people to talk about the gospel message. Right, So, okay, that's good there. Let me go to my other notes and see if I'm missing anything. So the lamp, the lamp on the lamp sand, Jesus urges his listeners to be careful how they listen, as those who will be given more while from those who do not have, even they think that have will be taken away. Jesus emasized the portance of living out our faith openly and letting

our light shine before others and spreading the gospel. That's what the lamp on the lampstand is about. And do we have anything? So let's see what this one says. So just a good little teaching point. Jesus teaches that no one lights a lamp and hides it and set his place on a stand so that those who enter may see the light. He emphasized the importance of hearing and responding to the word of God. All right, let's continue now we're in Luke eight, verse nineteen. Jesus's mother

and brothers come to him. Then his mother and brothers came to him and could not approach him because of the crowd. And it was told to him by some who said, your mother, your brothers are standing outside desiring to see you. But he answered and said to them, my mother and my brothers are those who hear the word of God and do it. So what he's saying is, I'm trying to speak to all of you guys, because he wants to get them to the point to where they hear the God, the word of God and they

do it. See, He's like, he's saying, Hey, they already, they already hear the word of God and do it. So they're not important to me. Right now, I'm trying to speak to you guys. You guys are important. You see how he's placing the will of God first over everything. We'll see what my teaching, my steady guide says. It says Jesus' mother and brothers came to see him, but he uses the opportunity to teach that those who hear and do the word of God are his true family.

Oh that's a that's a good point. And then what's a good teaching point for this? Oh? Yeah, they don't. There's nothing here for that, So all right, we'll continue. Luke eight twenty two. Wind and wave, obey Jesus Luke eight twenty two. Now what happened on a certain day that he got into a boat with his disciples, and he said to them, let us cross over to the

other side of the lake, and they launched out. But as they sailed, he fell asleep, and a windstorm came on the lake, and they were filling with water and were in jeopardy. And they came to him and awoke him and saying, Master, we are perishing. And then he arose and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water, and they seized, and there was a calm. But he said to them, where is your faith? And they were afraid and marveled, which means that they were amazed, saying

to one another, who can this be? For he commands even the winds in the water to obey, and they obey him. So let's pause there. So so I thought that everybody says that Jesus doesn't claim to be God. Now he right here, he is definitely doing what That's why they're saying that who can this be? He commands the winds and water and they obey him, because there are so many examples in the Bible of God, the Father God controlling the weather. Okay, so here's here's a

couple passages I'm gonna I'm gonna show you. And obviously they they know the Old Testament, they know the Torah, right, but let me just go over a few Psalms one forty seven, verse eight. He covers the sky with clouds. He supplies the earth with rain, and makes grass grow on the hills. Speaking of God, he supplies the earth with rain Joe thirty seven six three team, and he directs the snow to fall on the ground and tells the rain to pour down. He directs the snow, which

means he God controls the weather. Psalms Verse eight, fire and hell snow and clouds, stormy wind, fulfilling his word. Jonah won four but the Lord hurled a great wind upon the sea, and there was a mighty temptess on the sea, so the ship threatened to break up. They're probably paraphrasing in these that I'm reading. Genesis eight twenty two. While the earth remains sea, time and harvest, cold and heat,

summer and winter, day and night shall not cease. Exodus fourteen twenty one, God causes the wind to blow, parting the Red Sea. Also during the flood. After the flood, God also sent a great wind to dry up the water, which I think that's Genesis eight twenty two. So the Exodus fourteen twenty two, God sends the wind to blow and parts the Red Sea. Jeremiah ten thirteen. He is the one who makes thunder and lightning, who brings rain

and makes the earth fruitful. In Joke thirty six twenty six through thirty three, God controls the water cycle, bring rain and mist Psalms one thirty five seven, He sends the rain to the earth and makes the grass grow on the hills. If you were following along in our Bible study, in the Old Testament, it said that God is going to cause it to not rain, or he could cause it to rain. I don't remember that verse,

but it is definitely there. And you know, the Bible shows that God has ultimate authority controlling everything in creation, even weather patterns, weather everything. Obviously, God created the weather, so he's able to control it, and sometimes he uses weather to as a judgment. Okay, so we need to understand that sometimes he uses weather as a blessing when it's rain and the crops are growing and it's green and it's looking good. Then you know, God's able to

do that. But also sometimes there's a judgment of famine over the land. You know, we see that in the Book of Exodus. Weather events can be seen as signs of God's power and presence. So I just want to let you guys know that. So Jesus is able to speak, he arose, rebuked the wind right and the raging of the water, and they seized and there was a calm, but he said, where's your faith? See, they've been with him the whole time. And these are all fishermen, a lot of them, not all of them, but a lot

of them are fishermen. Okay, A good amount of these guys are fishermen. They've been on the highst they've been in danger before they know that they're in danger right here, they know because they might they probably even know people that have died in that situation. And Luke even you know, is Is is alluding to the fact that they're in danger. Right. That's why they say, Master, Master, we are perishing because

they think they're gonna die. And it even says and a windstorm came down on the lake and they were filling with water. They were in jeopardy, right, they were in danger. That's what that word means, jeopardy. It means they were in danger. So they saw him cast out demons, you know, they saw him heal the sick. They saw him, you know, doing miracles, right, But this is on a different level to them because there's some Pharisees that were

casting out demons. I don't know if there was any Pharisees that were healing the sick, but what Jesus did or the paraplegic or you know, obviously they're not able to do it. Only God can. So God probably was doing that. But I don't know. I know that Elijah

was able to raise someone from the dead. I know that Elijah had that, you know, had that kind of faith to where God would do that, you know, for him, But I just want to let you know that him able to control the weather is more something that they would portray to God, you know, something that God can do. That's why they're amazed. And they're also like, who can this be? Right, let's continue, I'll see if there's anything Luke. Yeah,

so let's see what this says. This miracle demonstrates Jesus' authority over nature and challenges us to trust him even in life's storms. Yes, it definitely challenges us. That's what you can get from a you know, like a metaphorical perspective, is to trust him even in life storms. From a practical perspective, you can see that it's it's pointing towards his divinity. Okay, this is pointing towards his divinity and also pointing towards his faith. You know, as a man

on earth. He's a man. You know, he took he took manship when he was here. You know. I want to see if there was any teaching points for that. This theme demonstrates Jesus authority over nature, reinforcing his divine power, which I said, the call to faith in the face of fear. The Greek word at tamu used for rebuke indicates a command with authority. Okay, so he has authority. I love that, and we'll go back up to my notes. Okay, cool, we'll stay there, all right. This is a demon possessed

man healed. This is a Luke eight twenty six. Then they sail to the country of the Gardeners Gardar RNAs, which is opposite of Galilee. And when he stepped out on the land, there met a certain man from the city who had d men's plural with an S for a long time. He wore no clothes. He was running around naked. Nor did you live in a house but in the tombs? Okay, he lived around the dead, right.

He was having some major issues here. When he saw Jesus, he cried out, fell down before him with a loud voice, and said, what have I do? What have I to do with you, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg you do not torment me? For he had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man, for it had been, for it had often seized him. And he was kept under guard, bound with chains and shackles. And he broke the bombs and was driven by the

demon into the wilderness. Jesus asked him, saying, what is your name? And he said legion, because many demons had entered him and they begged him that he would not command them to go into the abyss. See, they know where they're going to go, right, they know their ultimate faith. They're fate, not their faith. Their ultimate fate is going to be to be put into the abyss. And legion. That word legion, it means many. Okay, So that word means many. So it's a title. Okay, it's not the

name of the of the of the demon. Is what what I was studying says? I don't know, because Jesus says, what is your name? And he said legion, But it says here because many demons had entered him and they begged him that he would not command them to go on the abyss. Right, So just letting you know, a legion of Roman soldiers is a thousand to six thousand soldiers. I know some pastors are going to say that means he had six thousand demons. Well, it means he had

a lot of demons. Okay. Legion means many, right, Okay, So does it mean he had six thousand? I don't know. Did it mean he have one thousand? I don't know, but I don't think just because know it says a legion can be a thousand to six thousand, that you could just say, oh, well, six thousand demons. I mean, I think that it just means he had many demons.

That's why it said because many demons had entered him legion. Okay, so m M. Just want to let you guys know that it says, now a herd of many swine we're feeding there on the mountain. So they begged him that he would permit them to enter them, and he permitted them. Then the demons went out of the men and entered the swine and the herd ran. The herd ran violently down the steep place into the lake and drowned. So does that mean that the demons died and they're done forever. No,

they're actually a spirit. So when they went into the water and they drowned, all that did to them because they didn't want Jesus to send him into the Abyss. So they begged, like, just put me into swine. Please, please don't send me to the abyss. Put me into the swine. Because Jesus has authority not only over the weather, but he also has authority over these demons where they can be sent obviously. See, they know that Jesus from the being you know from They know that Jesus was

there in the beginning of creation. They know that Jesus is the son of God. They know okay, know a lot of us have our time believing this, but they know who Jesus is and they know that he has authority over them. So they were just begging him to be put into a swine. Now does that mean that demons can just go into animals and now all the animals are gonna be possessed, gonna they're gonna be going crazy and eating your neck. I don't see that, you know,

I see that here. But they had to ask for permission to go into you know, to be sent into the swine. Right, So it's very important, you know. It's like they need permission to enter a vessel from the person. They need permission, right. They can't just enter you unless you are unsaved and you are dabbling into something that would cause that to happen. But you know, when you're saved, they're they're not just gonna be able to inhabit you.

Or take over your body or anything like that. You know, you have the Holy Spirit, and Jesus has authority over these demons obviously. That's why they I beg you do not torment me. That's what they say to the of the Son of the Most High God, and says, I beg you not to torment me. See, he could command them to come out right, So all right, and then they went into the water, you know, and they drowned. And there's some people believe that, you know, there's water

spirits and there's you know, there's land spirits. I mean, I don't know, man like I just can kind of go with what the Bible says. And then I want to let you know this. In Matthew twenty eight eighteen, it says and Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, all authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth. So he has all authority on earth and

in heaven and under the earth as well. That's why tewod Philippia Philippians eleven I think it is says every need will bow in heaven, on earth, and under the earth, which is hell. Okay, shield, okay, that's what it'd be called, So, let me go to my notes and see if teaching points for Jesus' Okay, So, jesus encounter with the demon possessed man shows his power over evil and his compassion for the marginalized, for the needy. Right, let's see if

there's any I just want to see if there's anything here. Okay, So Jesus cast out demons from a man in the region of the Guaranus Garah census, showing his power over evil spirits. The Greek daemonion refer to the demons, and extormal means to come out. That's in Greek exto maye ex jo may means to come out. All right, let's

continue Luke eight thirty four. When those who fed them saw what had happened, they fled and told it in the city in the country, and they went out to see what had happened, and came to Jesus and found a man for whom the demons had departed, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed in his right mind. And they were afraid. They also had seen it told by told them by what means, he who had been demon

possessed was healed. Then the whole multitude of the surrounding region of the Goodarinis also asked them to depart from them, for they were seized with great fear. And he got into the boat and returned. Obviously, this guy, he had many demons, So they've been afraid this guy. They see that he's walking, been running around naked in the tombs. They're afraid. They have fear. Right, when you see something that's supernatural, you're gonna be fearful. Now, obviously they should be.

They should be a happy praising God like you know, and they should be excited. But it says here that they that they were, that they were seized with great fear. They weren't ready for Jesus yet, right, you could tell Luke eight thirty eight. Now, the man from whom the demons had departed, begged him that he might be with him, But Jesus sent him away, saying, return to your own house and tell what great things God has done for you. And he went his way and proclaimed throughout the whole

city the great things Jesus had done for him. Notice, sometimes Jesus says, don't tell anybody. Sometimes Jesus says, to go tell everybody what I did, or what you know, what he did, And probably the reason is because these people were filled with great fear and they were seizing, right, So he wants them to go back to that city and start telling him about what God did for him so that they start building faith. Because some of these people need miracles, they need signs, they need they need

they need signs and miracles for them to believe. So Jesus offously knows. So sometimes when Jesus is like around Pharisees, or they're they're going into a city where their Pharisees are, he might tell them to not tell a bunch of people, you know, because when he does something that's supernatural that only God can do in some ways, he doesn't want the Pharisees to think that, you know, trying to I think he's committing blasphemy. That's what I'm seeing, Okay, Am

I right? Maybe maybe I'm not, but I've just noticed that when I'm going through these gospels. You know, we've already gone through Matthew, we've gone through Mark. Now we're going through Luke. And by the way, most pastors, first of all, most pastors only teach for forty five minutes to an hour each week. We're doing two hour studies,

so it's awesome. And most pastors they don't go from Matthew to Mark to Luke because they feel like it's repetitive because a lot of this stuff has already been said. But the cool thing is I have this study Bible, which is awesome, so I can kind of tell you guys all this stuff. And also we are going through the Word. We're gonna go Genesis, the Revelation, so we don't care if we've heard some of this stuff or it's kind of similar or whatever. We're going to continue

to do this and we're going to go through. Praise God. Praise God. Okay, Luke eight verse forty, a girl restored to life and a woman is healed. So it was when Jesus returned that the multitude welcomed him, for they were waiting for him. And behold, there came a man named Jerrus Jeris, and he was a ruler of the synagogue. And he fell down at Jesus's feet and begged him to come to his house, for he had only he had an only daughter, about twelve years of age, and

she was dying. First of all, I want to let you guys, know that this story hits me a lot different than when I used to read the Bible before I had kids. Okay, this is gonna this is gonna hit me differently because I have three girls, three daughters, right, so I don't have an only daughter like this gentleman. But I do have three daughters. And you know, I can imagine how I would be feeling if this is happening. But as he went, but as he went, the multitudes

thronged him. Now a woman having a flow of blood for twelve years, who had spent all her livelihood on physicians, so spent all of her money on physicians, could not be healed by any came from behind and touched the border of his garments, and immediately her fill of blood stopped. And Jesus said, who touched me? When he denied it, Peter and those with him, master the multitudes throng and

press you, and you say, who touched me? But Jesus said, somebody touched me, for I perceived power going out from me. So Peters saying, we're walking through a whole crowd. Everybody's touching you. You know, he's just like he's kind of confused because he doesn't understand. But Jesus, when he heals and he feels faith, he's gonna feel it. And he said he felt the power coming out going out from him,

which is very powerful. Now, when the woman saw that she was not hidden, she came trembling, falling down before him. She declared to him, in the presence of all the people, the reasons she had touched him, and how she was healed immediately. And he said to her, daughter, be of good cheer. Your faith has made you well. Go in peace. So she had so much faith that she was going to be able to be healed. She just wanted to touch his garment, you know. So I think it's fascinating

that she had that kind of faith. You know, obviously she spent all her money on trying to get well. It seems like she was having her you know, heavy blood flow, seems like a like a heavy you know, menstrual cycle, heavy menstrual cycle. So it says a woman is healed by touching Jesus's garment, demonstrating face power. The Greek hapatomai means to touch, indicating her act of faith. And let's see if there's any other teaching points I can kind of Jesus. He's a woman who had been

suffering from bleeding for twelve years. By touching your cloak. Okay, now let's continue. Uh, this is gonna be Luke eight. It's gonna be Luke eight eight. And he said to her daughter, be of good cheer. Your faith has made you well. Go in peace. While he was still speaking, someone came from the ruler of the synagogue's house, saying to him, your daughter is dead. Do not trouble the teacher.

Oh can you imagine this woman stopped him. He's trying to get to this guy's daughter, but other people are kind of doing things. He can't get through the crowd, and the guy that the leader of the synagogue is literally probably going crazy, like his patience is probably wearing so thin, and he's just like, please, please come with me. Please. He's probably feeling so sad. And then all of a sudden he gets the news that your daughter is dead.

Do not be troubled and says, do not trouble the teacher. So they're saying that she's dead now, so stop asking him. But when Jesus heard it, he answered him saying, do not be afraid, only believe and she will be made well. This is another time they probably maybe heard of Elijah doing this. They probably heard of that story, you know. But let's see. It says when he came into the house, he permitted no one to go up, and except Peter, James and John and the father and mother of the girl.

Now all wept and warned for her. But he said, do not weep. She is not dead but sleeping. And they ridiculed him, knowing that she was dead. Okay, so they made fun of him, saying she's dead. You know. I don't know what they said, but they're probably just telling him like she's already dead, like nothing you could do or whatever, ridiculing him. And he says, do not weep,

she is not dead but sleeping. And Luke eight fifty four says, but he put them all outside, all right, took her by the hand and called, saying, little girl arise. Then her spirit returned, and she arose immediately, and he commanded that she'd be given something to eat. And her parents were astonished, but he charged them to tell no one what had happened, because this is a whole different

ball game. Okay, her spirit was gone, okay, probably going into uh maybe Abraham's bosom, you know, because if you look, you know, when we get into Luke sixteen, you're gonna see what I'm talking about. We're gonna I won't tell you guys now because I want to wait till we get there, but you'll see what I mean. So her spirit was gone, right, So this is the type of thing he didn't want people to know. Is it good for people to know that Jesus could do this? Of course,

that's why we're hearing it in the Bible. But it wasn't good for Jesus at the time for these Pharisees and these people to know about things like this, because these are things that only God can do, or these are things that are supernatural that are on another level. You know. Let's see what the teaching points is. So yeah, So it says he raises Jerius Jeris's daughter from the dead, demonstrating his power over sickness and of death. That's why

I told you about Matthew twenty eight eighteen. And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, all authoritya has have been given to me in heaven and on earth, all authority over death, over sickness, over demons, I mean all authority means all okay, okay, and all right. So now let's go to practical applications. So examine your heart. Reflect on the condition of your heart. Are you receptive to God's word like the good soil? Or are there obstacles

preventing growth? So obviously there's different seasons to your faith, and there's different seasons to your walk with God. I'll tell you one thing. Okay, I'll tell you a few things, but something I'll tell you about what's been going on in my life ever since I started this Bible study. I'm telling you, ever since I started this Bible study, and I'm dipping into the Word for the first two days of my work week and then the second two

days of my work week, and then do these shows. Uh, there's been a major change in my life, A major change in my life. I'm noticing it. I'm able to fast in certain areas I couldn't fasten before certain areas in my life. I'm able to resist the devil more. I'm not trying to boast or brag at all. I'm just trying to give you some practical applications for your life that this type of these type of studies will assist you in your walk. You're hearing the word of God.

Like I said, you're building faith. Just understand that it don't if you get knocked down like that song says, then get back up again. You know, like you're gonna probably have. You're gonna have some struggles in your life in your walk with God. You're gonna have struggles, but everybody does. But I just want you, guys to stick with this Bible study, or if you don't stick with my Bible study, stick with enough the one. I just

want you to be fed the word of God. I want you, guys to be fed the word of God, and I want it to hit the good soil. And I want you to be fruitful. Okay, that's what I would love. That's my whole goal. I want you to be fruitful. I want you to understand the Gospel message, and I want you to be a disciple for God after these studies. You know, I want you to be a disciple. Maybe you go on to teach your kids. Maybe you're going to teach a bunch of people on

a podcast. I don't even know. Whatever, however, God wants to use you. Maybe you go to serve it a church. Maybe you just go to serve people your whole life. Whatever, however, it can change you for the for the good is going to be awesome, and only God can do that. All I could do is read the Word to you and plant some seeds. So let's continue for a practical application and shine your light. Consider ways you can actively share your faith and be a light in your community.

That's kind of goes along with exactly what I was talking about. Trust in storms. Identify areas in your life where you need to trust Jesus more, especially during difficult times. Of course, you keep your eye on Jesus and you're not going to fall in the lake or the water. You see, Peter was like seeing Jesus walk on water and he's like, can I come out? Teacher? Sure? Our Master? Can I come out? Sure? And he started walking on water. What did he do? Well, I'm in water. He lost

his focus. He was focusing on Jesus. He had the faith. But as soon as he realizes in the water, he sank and Jesus had to pull him out right. So we got to keep focused, We got to keep our eye on Jesus. Put God first in everything you do. Seek God first and everything else will follow. Trust in storms, identify, Okay, already talked about that, show compassion. Look for opportunities to extend compassion and help those who are marginalized or in need,

the homeless, marginalized people that are in poverty. Whatever you could do, you know, to to help those in need, show compassion. Just be careful when you're doing that because some people are you know. Just pray, have faith, and you know, do your best there at it. Exercise faith. Strengthen your faith by remembering past instances where God has worked in your life and trust Him for future challenges. That is so important to remember what God has done.

We all have a testimony, right. God has done things that we don't even know he's doing. There's spiritual battles happening in every decision that we make, and sometimes God is doing things that we don't even know, we don't see. But always trust God and understand, you know, trust Him for future challenges you have. Everything else has worked out in your life in a certain way. Maybe things were tough rough here, but you know you're at this point right,

so it's worked out. You're alive. Yeah, Wiggle your fingers and toes appreciate what God has given you, you know. So all right, that's good. I think I've I'm kind of went through everything for the teaching points and uh, let's see there's no there's no versus to connect. Okay, cool, So we'll go to Luke nine kind of a more in depth teaching. But you know, it's okay, I just kind of got to uh kind of got to digest a lot of that that chapter. Now we're gonna be

talking about Luke nine. I'll bring up my other notes here. Luke nine, I kind of already talked about the diet and exercised thing already in the very beginning. Very important for us to to take that and put it into action. Okay, here we go. This is Luke nine, Verse one. Then he called his disciples together and gave them power and authority over all demons and to cure diseases. He sent them to preach the Kingdom of God and to heal

the sick. And they and he said to them, take nothing for your journey, neither staffs nor bag, nor bread nor money. And do not have two tunics a piece, And do not have two tunics apiece. Whatever house do you enter stay there and from their depart and whoever will not receive you when you go out to that city, shake off the very dust from your feet as a testimony against them. So they departed and went through the towns, preaching the gospel and healing everywhere. So let's see, so

basically they took no material possessions for their journey. What is Jesus trying to build? Well, First of all, he is giving them authority and power over all demons and the cure diseases. So they have this power. He sent them to preach the Kingdom of God and to heal the sick. So he's telling them that, you know, I'm gonna give you this power, but you're gonna have to sacrifice. And this sacrifice by taking nothing on your journey, no

material possessions, no no staff, no bag, no money. You are now trusting God to give you these things that you normally would be able to go and buy or you would normally have on you. You would normally, like you know, pack a bunch of stuff ready for a journey. He's saying, ah, nothing, trust God. So it's actually building their faith. Let's see what it says here in the Jesus empowers the disciples with authority over demons the diseases,

sending them to proclaim the Kingdom of God. This highlights the importance of mission and reliance reliance on God's provision. Definitely, Herod seeks to see Jesus now. Herod the Tetriarch heard of all that was done by him, and he was perplexed because it was said by some that John had risen from the dead, and by some that Elijah had appeared, and by others that one of the old prophets had risen again. Herod said, John I have beheaded, But who is this of whom I hear such things? So he

sought to see him. Obviously, people are gonna say certain things. John the Baptist and Jesus were seen together, obviously, you know, during John's the one that baptized Jesus. So obviously these are just rumors or what people are saying. You know that John the Baptist has risen from the dead, well, I mean, hello, Jesus was alive when John the Baptist was alive, and John the Baptists baptized Jesus, So obviously this is just hearsay. Things that people are saying that

they're not even they don't even know. So yeah, so word got out the King Herod right about Jesus. So obviously it's gonna it's gonna make him want to see him and seek him. So he's probably a little nervous. And someone comes in ruffles the feathers like that, and people were you know, look at when David and versus Goliath. You know, King Saul was the king and then David

killed Goliath. Now everybody's screaming David. David, you know, kind of started getting a little nervous when the King of kings, the real king of kings comes around, not David, but you know, Jesus, that's what King Herod. He's getting a little nervous. So Tetriarch Herod hears about Jesus activity, so it's puzzle him and stir rumors that John the Baptis has been raised from the dead. That's probably another thing he was kind of worried about, like John the Baptist

raised from the dead. Oh no, maybe felt a little conviction there, uh Luke Verse ten, Feeding the five thousand and the Apostles when they had returned, told them all that they had done, and he took them and went aside privately into a deserted place belonging to the city called beth Sayda. But when the multitudes knew it, they followed him, and he received them and spoke to them about the Kingdom of God, and healed those who had

need of yealing. When the day had begun to wear away, the twelve came and said to him, send the multitude away, that they may go into the surrounding towns and country and lodge and get provisions, for we are in a deserted place here. And he said to them, you give them something to eat, And they said, we have no more than five loaves and two fish unless we go and buy food for all these people, for there were

about five thousand men. So you see how they constantly are thinking of the physical world world, which we're guilty of as humans. We don't think of the spiritual. I've told you guys several times that you got to think of the spiritual. Physical things are happening here on earth, yes, but we need to think of the spiritual things are happening in the spiritual world that are caused, you know,

when we make certain decisions in the physical world. So we're guilty of it as humans not thinking of the spiritual, and they're guilty right here basically telling Jesus like, unless we go buy food for these people, Like he said, what Jesus said, you give them something to eat. They're like, they're like, you want us to go buy food for all these people, you know? And then he said to his disciples, make them sit down in groups of fifty, and they did so, and made them all sit down.

Then he took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, he blessed and broke them and gave them to the disciples to set them before the multitude. So they all ate and were filled, and twelve baskets of the leftover fragments were taken up by them. So five thousand men. Okay, these men obviously had women and children, so there's probably more people there. But it was just letting you know that there were about five thousand men, right. So he made him sit in groups

of fifty and he fed all. What a what a very interesting uh part right here? Let's see what it says here in the these forem's a miracle of multiplication, multiplication teaching us about his compassion and the sufficiency of his provision. That's what one of the teaching points were. Let's see if there's it. After the apostles return, Jesus takes them to a secluded place, but the crowds follow. Jesus welcomes them, speaks about the Kingdom of God, and

heals those in need. As the day ends, he miraculously feeds about five thousand men with five loaves and two fish. Amen. Okay, so now we're in Luke nine, verse eighteen. Let's see if I have anything in so we'll continue that. This is Peter confesses that Jesus as the Christ. Peter confesses Jesus as the Christ. This is Luke nine eighteen. And it happened when he was alone praying that his disciples joined him and asked them, say, who do the crowds

say that I am? So they answered to said John the Baptist, but some say Elijah, and others say one of the old prophets have risen again. He said to them, but who do you say that I am? And Peter answered and said, the Christ of God. Okay, the Messiah of God is what that means. Let's go ahead, and you know that's where it ends in Luke. But you know, in Matthew gives us a little more detailed. So it says Simon, Peter, Peter. Simon Peter answered and said, this

is Matthew sixteen sixteen through nineteen. It says you are the Christ, the Son of the Living God. Jesus answered and said to him, blessed are you, Simon bar Jonah, which is Peter, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, But my Father who is in Heaven. And I also say to you that you are Peter. And on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. And I will give you the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven.

And whatever you bind on earth will be bound in Heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be looser in Heaven. You guys know that whole verse. But you see right there. See in Matthew he says the son of the Living God. You are the Christ, the Messiah, the Son of the Living God. Here it says the Christ of God, right, the Messiah of God. So very interesting. I kind of like to sometimes read the more detailed accounts sometimes so that you kind of get a better grasp on what's

going on there, and we'll continue. See if I'm missing any notes over here. Yeah, I got all these dogs barking. I hopefully you guys don't hear that. Oh, let's see teaching. Peter declares Jesus as the Messiah, emphasizes the necessity of recognizing Jesus' true identity. Yep, that's a good little teaching point there. Okay. So Jesus predicts his death and resurrection.

This is Luke nine, verse twenty one. And he strictly warned and commanded them to tell this to no one, saying, the son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders in chief, priests and scribes, and be killed and be raised on the third day. So the they're not really getting it though, you know, even though he's saying that, they're not getting it because they keep on they keep on living as if that's not happening.

You know, they keep on sleeping. Sometimes when he's praying, he's asking he stay awake from me or stay with me, and they're not getting it. The disciples will continue Luke nine, verse twenty three, take up the cross and follow me is what the title is of this, he says. Then he said to them, if anyone desires to come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it. But whoever loses his life for my

sake will save it. For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world and is himself destroyed or lost. For whoever is ashamed of me and my words of him, the son of man will be a shame when it comes to his own glory and in his father's and the holy he who comes in his own glory and in his father's and of the holy angels. But I tell you truly, there is some standing here who shall not taste death till they see the Kingdom of God. So Jesus messages to deny yourself,

love others and love others. The world would say to love yourself before you can love others. That's what the world would say. And also also the world would also say, to fulfill all your pleasures, fulfill your materialistic needs. You know you need to not deny yourself. You know there's so much any things out there about about trusting yourself right, or loving yourself or or you know, and Jesus's messages is different. Deny yourself and love others right, serve others

totally different than what the world would say. Right. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, But whoever loses his life for my sake will save it. Amen, let's see what excuse me? Let's see what Paul says

about denying yourself and Philippians two, verses one through four. Therefore, if there is any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the spirit, if any affliction and mercy, fulfill my joy by being like minded, having the same love, being of one accord of one mind, Let nothing be done. This is the part. Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but a loneliness

of mind. Let each esteem others better than himself. Let each of you look out only for his not only for his own interests, but also for the interest of others. Do you see how that is completely opposite of what the world is teaching, completely opposite. And then this verse it shows how denying yourself plays out in our relationship with God. This is James four thirteen, James four thirteen

through fifteen. Come on, come now, you who say today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell and make a profit. Whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. But what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. Instead, you want to say, if the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that. So we live by

God's will. God's will is to deny yourself and love others. Right, So it's I think it's vastly important for us to know that and understand that Jesus transfigured on the mount. This is Luke nine eight. Let's see if I have any other notes for that specific part the cost of discipleship. Jesus calls his followers to deny themselves, to take up the cross daily and follow him, underscoring the sacrificial nature of true discipleship. And like I was saying, we need

to become disciples. Okay, true disciples. Let me see if twenty eight okay, Jesus his own Jesus predicts his own death and resurrection. We already kind of went over that. Now we're gonna be on the transfiguration, okay, Luke nine twenty eight. This is Jesus transfigured on the mount Now it came to pass about eight days after these sayings that he took Peter, John and James and went up on the mountain to pray. As he prayed, the appearance of his face was altered, and his robe became white

and glistening. And behold, two men talked with him, who were Moses and Elijah, who appeared in glory and spoke of his decease, which he was about to accomplish at Jerusalem. But Peter and those with him were heavy with sleep, and when they were fully awake, they saw his glory and the two men who stood with him. Then it happened, as they were parting from him, that Peter said to Jesus, Master, is it good for us to be here? And let us make three tabernacles, one for you, one for Moses,

and one for Elijah. Not knowing what he said. While he was saying this, a cloud came and overshowered, overshadowed them, and they were fearful as they entered the cloud, and a voice came out of the cloud saying, this is my beloved son. Hear him. When the voice had seized, Jesus was found alone, but they kept quiet and told no one in those days of any of these things. Teaching points for this is Jesus takes Peter, John and James up a mountain to pray. As he prais, his

appearance changes, his clothes become dazzling white. Moses and Elijah appierre speaking with him about his departure. The Greek word for departure is exodus, exodus, indicating his upcoming death and ascension. Now, there was a lot of things happening here, you know, Jesus. A lot of people believe that Jesus is the Lord in the Old Testament that spoke to Moses. A lot of people think that Jesus is the Angel of the Lord that spoke to Moses. So that's probably why Moses

and Elijah recognized him in his transfigured body. Okay, that is speculation, Okay, Do I believe that? Yeah, I do believe that. I do believe that, But it's still speculation, Okay, But it's very interesting when you kind of dig deep into it. If you do believe in the Trinity, or you believe that Jesus was there during creation, which I believe Colossians, you know, one point fifteen kind of explains

and other passages explained that Jesus is there. You know John one one that you know, the word was with God, the word was God. You know, the word became fleshed, all that stuff, you guys can already know. So there's speculation that Jesus is the Lord, the one that came to spoke to Moses face to face. It's it's like, it's almost like whenever because in John it says no one has seen the invisible God, like no one has seen the invisible Father, right, but people have seen Jesus, right,

Jesus when he walked the earth, came in flesh. Right. Also, I do believe personally that he is the Lord that's speaking to Aaron and marry him. Also the Lord that came to speak to Abraham with the two angels. I do believe that that's Jesus in the Old Testament. Some people would say that that's not. Some people are Unitarians that believe that Jesus was born of a virgin and that God gave him that power that he is the son of God. But God gave him the power, and

you know he's not divine, right, doesn't have divinity. So there's different thoughts on that. I just want to kind of throw that out there so people kind of know. But topics themes. Okay, let's see if there's okay, we already talked about that. Okay, cool, let's continue. The boy is healed Luke nine thirty seven. Now, what happened on the next day when they had come down from the mountain,

that a great multitude met him. Suddenly a man from the multitude cried out, saying, teacher, I implore you to look on my son, for he is my only child. And behold, a spirit seizes him, and he suddenly cries out. It convulses him so that he foams at the mouth, and it departs from him with great difficulty, bruising him. So I implored your disciples to cast it out, but they could not. And Jesus said, oh, fakeless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? Bear with you,

and bear with you. Bring your son here, and he as he is still coming that the demon threw him down and convulsed him. Then Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, healed the child and gave him back to his father, faithless and perverse generation. How long shall I be with you and bear with you? Bring your son here? Wow, So this is going to be a little teaching point here. Let me get to that section real quick. Jesus demonstrates his power over evil, teaching the importance of faith and prayer.

Let's continue. Jesus predicts his death. This is Luke nine, verse forty three. And they were amazed at the majesty of God. But why everyone marveled or were amazed at all the things which Jesus did. He said to his disciples, let these words sink down into your ears, for the son of Man is about to be betrayed into the hands of men. But they did not understand this saying, and it was hidden from them, so they did not perceive it, and they were afraid to ask him about

his sayings. Forty six. Okay, So next is going to be Luke eight. Okay, let's see if yeah, Luke eight forty six, Luke nine forty six, Sorry, who is the greatest? Then a dispute among those among them as to which of them would be greatest, and Jesus, perceiving the thought of their heart, took a child and set him by him and said to them, whoever receives this little child my name, receives me. Whoever receives me, receives him who sent me. For he who is least among you will

be great. So there's also other verse that says, whoever is the greatest on earth will be the least in heaven. Whoever is the least on earth will be the greatest in heaven. So whoever is least among you be great. You need to come to Jesus with the faith of a child. Because children, they have faith in their parents, right. They have faith that their parents are going to take

care of them. They have faith that when you give your child money and you tell them it's a twenty dollars and they have faith that that's true and they just put it in their wallet. They go even if they can't count, you know, it's like they just have this faith with their parents. And that's something we need to have, like childlike faith. We don't need to come to the Bible and come to Jesus as theologians like we know everything. We need to come to God as

innocent children. Ready to be taught. And also take all of our preconceived biases and put him to the side, and let God build up, build you up with the truth, because we have all these preconceived biases that are untrue. Coming into the Word of God, we need to we need to be built up in faith, right, we need to be built up in the truth. And we have a You know, when you have a little bit of lies and a little bit of truth in you, take those preconcy biases, put him to the side. Pray to

God before you read the Bible. Pray that the Holy Spirit's going to show you what you need to know. You know, and God will open up the Word to you, and you will definitely be fruitful and multiply. You will be fruitful, as in you will get a lot of people in your disciple. Correctly, So, Jesus teaches that true greatness comes from humility and serving others. That's kind of what that whole thing is about, right there, Jesus forbids Okay, so here we go. Now this is Luke nine, verse

forty nine. Now John answered and said, Master, we saw someone casting out demons in your name, and we forbid him because he does not follow with us. But Jesus said to him, do not forbid him, for he is not against us, is on our side. So he's just saying, you know, he's casting him out of my name just because he's not walking with us. He said, he's on our side. Okay, So now we're going to continue. So a Samaritan woman rejects the Savior. This is Luke nine,

verse fifty one. Now it came to pass, when that time had come for him to be received up, that he steadfastly set his face to go to Jerusalem and set messengers before his face. And they went, and they entered a village of the Samaritans to prepare for him, but they did not receive him because his face was set on the journey to Jerusalem. When his disciples James and John saw this, they said, Lord, do you want us to command fire to come down from heaven to

consume them, just as Elijah did. But He turned to rebuke them and said, you did not know what manner of spirit you are of, for the Son of Man did not come to destroy men's life, but to save them. And they went to another village. So they're pagans, right. The Samaritan village, they reject the Savior and Uh, James and John, they were kind of getting a little bit cocky, it seems like, and forgetting the mission. Jesus knows the mission,

knows what he needs to do. That noise is just a little bit of a honey to soothe my voice. I'm just trying to keep it up from messing up on me here, So let's continue. See, they wanted to command fire to come down like Elijah did, and they

want that. They want that. They want that Messiah. They want that Son of God to be like a more of a what they thought the Messiah was gonna be like war hungry, like you know that was gonna cause peace, but gonna be powerful and like make an army and make it is real strong, you know, order to make the Jews strong. But he did not come here to destroy men's lives, but to save them. He's here for salvation.

Ya Shua, God's salvation, Yashua, the Mashiah, God salvation. The Messiah just a very powerful You do not know what manner of spirit you are of. If you're looking to destroy them, you're not of him, You're not of the Holy Spirit. That's why he said that for the sentiment did not come to destroy men's life, but to save them. Let's see what the cost of discipleship is now. It happened as they've journeyed on the road, that someone said to him, Lord, I will follow you wherever you go.

And Jesus said to him, foxes have holes, and birds have the air. Birds of the air have nest, But the son of man has nowhere to lay his head. Then he said to another follow me. But he said, Lord, let me first go and bury my father. Jesus said to him, let the dead bury their own dead, But you go and preach the kingdom of God. And another also said, Lord, I will follow you, but let me first go and bid them farewell. Who are at my house?

But Jesus said to him, and no one having his hand on the plow and looking back is fit for the Kingdom of God. So so Jesus has challenged them, right, Jesus is challenged challenging these potential followers and emphasizes the need for total commitment. Put Jesus first over your family, over your job, over everything, Put God first over everything, your daughters, your sons. I know it's hard to do.

You love your kids so much. You know, my daughter's always asked me, do you love me more than anything? And I say, no, I don't love you more than God. And they're like, I would just say that. I'm like, you have to love God more than everything. Is that offensive to say to your kids? No, My wife she asked me the same thing, do you love me more than everything? Nope, I don't love you more than God. I love God more than anything. He's the one that

created me. He's the one that gave me everything. All glory to God for everything, including my kids. He formed them in the womb. He's the reason why we have everything right, So of course I'm gonna love him more than anything. That's why Jesus wants. That's why he's saying the dead and bury the dead. Preaching to the kingdom is way more important than going to bury your family. But in Jewish tradition, it's really like looked highly upon,

free to take care of your family. That's why this guy said, Lord, I will follow you, but let me first go and bid farewell to you know, let me say buye now my family first. Jesus said no, having no one, having put his hand to the plow and looking back is fit for the Kingdom of God. Like you start your work and you look, you know, it's like looking like, well, I want to go back. I want to go back and live. I can't go yet.

You don't think that there's a time when I when I'm doing this podcast, where I'm exhausted and I'm like, oh my gosh, like this is going to be so hard to do. Right now, I'm so tired because I've been working all day. I have a very tough day. I'm cooking for my you know, I get home, I'm cooking for my kids. I'm cleaning. Sometimes I am beat. I'm spent, of course, but I don't care. I set up, I cleaned the table off, I set up everything, and

I start and then it just goes from there. But that's kind of the same thing that Jesus is saying. You know, you put your hand to the plow, and looking back is not fear for the Kingdom of God. Like place God first. The cost of following. Jesus begins his journey in Jerusalem. Along the way, he teaches about the challenges and sacrifices inherent in choosing to follow him. Of course, so we can get into a couple of the practical applications here. One of them would be to

embrace the mission. Like the disciples, we are called to share the Gospel, and we relay on God, rely on God's provisions in our mission fields. That's what Jesus says. The birds don't have a barn, but they end up eating all day, relying on God's provisions. What more important are you than a bird? So God's going to take care of you. Rely on him. Trust in God's provision, it says, in times of need, remember that Jesus is

able to provide abundantly beyond our expectations. Of course, recognize Jesus's identity regularly, affirm and deeping your understanding of who Jesus is as the Messiah and Lord of your life, Master of your life, Son of God, mediator between man and God. Recognize that he died on the cross for our sins and that he rose again after three days. And his blood is what we are saved by or

saved by his blood. There's life in his blood right, so we're saved by him living perfect life, being that perfect sacrificial lamb okay, And you got to have faith in that. Commit to discipleship. Evaluate areas in their life where you need to deny yourself, take up your cross to follow Jesus more closely. Evaluate areas in your life. There's areas in our life that are stopping us from being able to be fully to fully pick up our cross. Right, where is it that we need to deny ourself? You know?

Where is it we need to fast? Where is it that we are filling our splesh up with all these materialistic goods? Where is it that we are filling up our life with? You know, all these goods, you know, all these fleshly desires. Where do you need to deny yourself? Just understand that the world is going to always tell you to fulfill everything you know, not to deny yourself the opposite, because they want money, right, it's they want a materialistic world. They want you know, money makes the

world go round. They say, just that's that's the one they want you to spend. So they're gonna they're gonna give you these little to put these little agendas out there. Just find out where you need to deny yourself so you can commit to discipleship, take up your cross and follow Jesus more closely. Believe me, you will have joy, you will have peace, you will be happy when you

are following God closely. When you sin, it separates you from God and you were going to have regret, You're going to have you know, sin, the wages of sin is death, right, so it's going to cause spiritual death and it's going to separate you from God. Every time you sin. It's hard to go pick up that Bible again start reading when you sin, but you have to. But I'm just saying, the closer you are to God, the better you will feel, the joy you will have,

and just a lot better. So pursue humility, seek opportunities to serve others, recognizing that true greatness and God's kingdom is found in humility. Humility, Yes, I really agree with that. See if there's any oh yeah, So if you go to John six, verses one through fourteen, that's another account of Jesus feeding the five thousand. If you go to Philippians two, verses five through eight, let's go there real quick. Philippians two five through eight. Alright, let me just go here.

Philippians two, verses five through eight. The humble, then, Exalted Christ, let this mind be in you which also in Christ. Jesus, who being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made himself of no reputation. Taking the form of a bond servant, and coming in the likeness of men, and being found in appearance as a man, humbled himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Therefore God also has highly exalted him and given him

the name which is above every name. That in the name of Jesus, every knee should bow to those in heaven and those on earth and those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father. Obviously I read a little further than verse eight, but I needed you to hear those other parts. That's the humility of Christ, and that's an example for believers. Look what it says right there. It says, consider it robbery to be equal.

It says, let this mind be in you, which also which was also in Christ. Jesus, who being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made himself of no reputation. He didn't come here Jesus could have been having this grand alice, could have been richer than Solomon, could have had a bunch of servants, and he could have had his feet up and could have been king whatever they wanted. But

he didn't. He came here with no reputation in the form of a bond servant, servant in the likeness of men right, and also was born to a poor family. The reason why I say that they were poor is because Mary, when she came to do the sacrifice when Jesus was born, she brought a pigeon and a dove, you know, two pigeons and doves or whatever. That's usually what two pigeons or two doves, Usually that turtle doves, I'm sorry. Usually that's what the poor would bring, the

rich would bring. The Lamb says he humbled himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Okay, so we need to follow that and then Romans twelve verses one to two, as they called, live sacrificially and be transformed by renewing our minds. Romans twelve verses one and two, will go there real quick,

living sacrifices to God. I beseech you, therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice holy acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be confirmed conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Okay, so great points there. So yeah, we we just want over two chapters today, a little deeper

study than normal, but it's okay. I got a chance to kind of dig deep on these, uh these two chapters, and we're gonna we're gonna wrap up. Usually I wrap up after two hours, but we did about hour and fifty minutes, so that's not bad at all. Let me just stop share speak to you guys. I just first off, I want to say thank you guys for joining me, and thank you for listening to this. This show, this Bible study, like I said, has been helping me tremendously.

If it's helping you, like I always say, you know, go to Spotify and please comment and blow up the spot comment section with hey, this is helping me in this way. Hey Josh, can you what's your advice on this? Or ask me about anything? That's in the book, you know, in the Gospel of Luke. Or ask me anything that you want there and I will answer you on the next show. And I will also shout your name out and thank you for commenting, because like I said, I'm not here to ask you guys for money. All I'm

here to ask you for is your time. It takes you just a few minutes to write a comment and think of something. Even if you put great study whatever. It's nice because comments on a show is new to Spotify, and Spotify loves a bunch of comments, so they will kind of push that show more through the algorithm and that'll help. So thank you guys so much. I really appreciate you joining me for this show. And next week on Sunday Service, I'm going to be going over the

Book of Deuteronomy. I'll go over you know, uh, I'll go over a nice little intro to the Book of Deuteronomy and we will get into Deuteronomy. So we're kind of over a giant hump, and the hump would be you know, Leviticus and numbers. There's a couple of tough teaching points there even for me, like numbers one through

eight hard to get through that. As soon as we got through that started gaining momentum, right and kind of going into uh, you know, we went into the other parts, like there was some really really interesting parts in the Book of Numbers, but we're getting to points now, like the Book of Deuteronomy is gonna be great. So please, if you if you only tune into the to Wednesday's service, I just want to ask you to try to I gotta get these this chair. I need to tighten some

of these screws. I feel like it's coming off. If you only listen to Wednesday service, I would definitely encourage you to go listen to Sunday service. It will definitely help you. You know, the Old Testament is the foundation of what you're gonna see in the New Testament, and it'll show you why we need Jesus in the first place. Right, So I really it courage that next week on Wednesday service, obviously we're gonna be going over Luke ten, probably eleven,

maybe even twelve. I'm not sure. We'll see how deep I get into these chapters. But thank you so much for joining me. Like I always do, I end this in prayer. Let me just do something real quick before we start the prayer. All right, here we go, Father God, and the name of Jesus and the name of Your showing them a sheiak. We appreciate everything you do for us, everybody that's listening to the show. Lord. First of all, I appreciate you giving me an audience to even be

I appreciate you giving us your word for us to be able to learn, for us to be able to grow together, for us to be able to understand what you're trying to say. Please assist me in teaching the Word of God to this audience, and assist them in learning, and also assist them in taking this information and applying it to their life. And also assist me in taking this

information and applying it to my life. It is vastly important. Lord. I want the I want it to be on good soil and good heart. You know the word which is the seed. I want it to be planted on good soil with good heart. And I don't want us to fall the temptation. You know, I want us to I want you to break all those chains. If anybody has any issues with falling to temptation. You know they're they're receiving this word and they're falling after this. We don't

want that, Lord, we don't want that. I know the people that are listening don't want that. And if they are falling, they don't want to fall. They're just falling because they're not able to stand up to the wills of the devil's So provide them with that faith. Provide them with that sword, Lord, give them that sword, that double edged sword. Give them that word so they could use that offensive weapon and resist the devil so that he will flee. Lord, please assist these people that are listening.

They really need it. Help them to not do drugs, alcohol, cigarettes, nicotine. You know, any type of nicotine, any type of alcohol, any type of drugs, any type of pornography. I rebuke that, and you show it the Mischiak's name, Father Yahweh, and please assist us in breaking all those chains. Lord, thank you, thank you, thank you for everything you do for us. We love you in Jesus name a men. Thank you so much for listening. Join me on Sunday service. We're

gonna be going over the Book of Deuteronomy. You guys are gonna love it. And then next week we'll be in the Gospel of Luke chapter ten. Thank you so much for listening. I love you and God bless you.
