Episode description

Vitalik started working on Ethereum and it got launched in 2015. Smart contracts on the Ethereum blockchain are created in high-level programming languages, then compiled to EVM bytecode and deployed. Solidity may be used to write them. People can buy and sell different cryptocurrencies through the Ethereum platform. Anyone may use Ethereum to create permanent, unchangeable decentralized programs with which users can interact. Decentralized finance (Defi) apps allow cryptocurrency users to borrow against their holdings or lend them out for interest without the need for traditional financial intermediaries like brokerages, exchanges, or banks.
