This campus week we celebrate Mother's Day and consider how God connects with the characteristics we come to count on from our moms.

This campus week we celebrate Mother's Day and consider how God connects with the characteristics we come to count on from our moms.
The Experience series concludes today in Acts chapter 5. Join us as Pastor Dave teaches from a somewhat ugly, confusing passage. We will encounter a less-than-perfect church, a challenge to our natural hypocrisy, and an invitation to trust in the love of God.
Join us for the fourth episode of the Experience series as Crosswalk Chattanooga's Pastor Ritchie Pruehs teaches from Acts chapter four.
Pastor Tim Gillespie leads our third episode in the Experience series in an exploration of Acts chapter three.
Join us as our Experience series explores Acts 2 and the story of the formulation of the Christian church at Pentacost.
Join us as we launch a new series, The Experience, exploring the first five chapters of Acts. Jesus has suffered and died on the cross and newly risen. But the work is not over. It has only just begun. For now, we experience the body of believers... the church.
This conclusion of our Invitation series celebrates the resurrection story of Luke 24. And could it be that the resurrection story isn't just about "someday" our loved ones will be alive again? What if we all need a resurrection, today?
Today's episode of The Invitation teaching series explores Luke 23 and the crucifixion of Christ. Join Pastor Dave as he considers Mount Calvary, Mount Moriah and other mountains we make.
Pastor Tim leads us through a study of Luke 22 as we near Easter weekend and the resurrection story. As this chapter unfolds, we encounter a story of betrayal and, maybe, we see ourselves, our tendency to make spirituality about ourselves, and the amazing grace of Jesus.
Ourganda is a ministry to the people of Uganda that suggests the pain and difficulty of people around the world are a part of the heartbeat of Jesus and, therefore, should be a concern to us as well. Join us as Ron Gladden explains our new outreach partnership with Ourganda, the work they are doing and how we can be involved.
Today The Invitation series explores Luke 21. Jesus has spent a difficult couple of days in the temple in Jerusalem, challenging the leadership. And then, the best thing to happen to Jesus on the way to the cross... an impoverished widow and the offering of her two coins drown out the discouragement and leap the barriers of religiosity.
Episode three of our Invitation series explores the stories of Luke 20. In this passage, Jesus is stalked by enemies seeking to trick, trap or trip Him up in a way that would justify their intention of eliminating His ministry. But Jesus, these few days before the cross, deftly handles nearly every attempt by asking a question in return. Jesus is the master of questions. So I wonder, does He have a question for you, too?
Our second episode of The Invitation explores Luke 19 and focuses on two specific stories. First, Jesus bestows salvation upon the repentant Zacchaeus. And finally, Jesus enters Jerusalem during His final week before the cross, flipping tables and clearing out the cluttered temple area that stands between the people and their worship of God.
The Invitation teaching series begins with an exploration of Luke 18 led by Pastor Tim. Hear the call of Christ to follow Him and in so doing become His invitation to the world.
This Campus Week Pastor Dave shares a special statement from the Crosswalk teaching team and invites us to consider the beatitude of Matthew 5:9, "blessed are the peacemakers."
Our New Wine series concludes with a message from Pastor Dave titled More. Here, we walk through the the Gospel of John's story of the wedding feast at Cana in which Jesus creates new wine, and we consider that in a world of "no more wine" and too many "not enough" moments, Jesus is always More.
During this fourth episode of our New Wine series, Pastor Dave takes a moment to address a controversy facing the Crosswalk Chattanooga family and encourages love and patience as we build one another up. Then, the message shifts to Matthew 11 and Jesus' invitation for a deep connection with Him. He promises that, while life is difficult, there is rest and light when partnered with Him.
In this episode of our New Wine series, Pastor Dave explores the vinyard metaphor Jesus uses in John 15. In it, Jesus explains what it is to be a Christian... or, in the words of Eugene Peterson, to be a pilgrim rather than a tourist in this Christian journey. And, if we were to create a word cloud from the first half of this chapter of Scripture, the word Remain would be big, bold and in the center. So we consider what it means to remain in Christ.
Today, we consider the notion of change. We are resistant to change, always preferring the comfort of the familiar. But new wine requires change... new wineskins. And how do we reconcile God introducing new wine if He claims to "never change?" Is it possible that two seemingly opposite things can be true: "God never changes" and "God always changes?"
Today we launch the first series of the 2024 year, New Wine. Pastor Tim challenges us with the metaphor from Jesus in extension of the vineyard metaphors He so often uses. Through this teaching, we pose the question, Is it just new wineskins (new styles, forms, and practices) we need? Or do we need something new to fill the skins?... New Wine.
Today we all meet together in one service giving our volunteers a much needed break... Crosswalk Unplugged. This family service titled "The Zoo" will include a story told by all of our children, lots of stuffed animals and a challenge to ask God for an incredible gift as the new year approaches.
Our Adventure series concludes with an exploration of the experience of Mary and Joseph as Jesus' parents and the first to believe He was the Messiah. We conclude there is something God has for us to do that is similar to the challenge Mary and Joseph embarked upon in the first century.
Our third episode in the Christmas Adventure series looks at the incarnation of Christ through the eyes of the angels mentioned in various passages of our story.
Today's journey through the adventure of the Christmas story considers the dangerous world Jesus came to under Roman rule and the violent leadership of King Herod. But as we explore the gift of the baby born in a manger, we just might discover a perfect gift to give Jesus.
Crosswalk's Christmas season series is entitled "Adventure," as we look at God's risky attempt to save humanity through the incarnation of Christ. Today we consider the little town of Bethlehem, a not-so-important landing spot for the Son of God. But isn't that just like the God we know? capitalizing on the insignificant, using the unimportant and accepting the broken like you and me? So as we sing "O Little Town" we do so laying claim to the audacious gift of salvation... the wild truth of bein...
In this, our final chapter of the second season of the Uncomfortable series, Pastor Tim challenges us to live in a culture of gratitude rather than the prevailing lifestyle of consumption.
Uncomfortable Unity asks the question, "Does God intend for us to be completely comfortable?" and wonders if there is such a thing as comfortable unity.
In today's episode, Pastor Dave explores the extravagant and uncomfortable nature of true worship. Is it possible to worship passively or partially? Or is this an all in, everything or nothing verb we are called to experience?
Join us in celebrating our fifth anniversary. Pastor Tim leads a discussion considering the miraculous ways God has led us in the past. And Pastor Dave explores God's plans for our future.
Today, we launch season two of the Uncomfortable series. In this first episode, Pastor Tim Gillespie discusses God's plan for His people to live in community. And while it is uncomfortable and challenging to get along, church is a practice ground for the community of heaven.
