Episode description

Simply Supreme . . .

Colossians 1:15-23

There is no one more supreme than Jesus.

Because . . .

  • Jesus is the image of the invisible God.
    • Jesus is not merely a reflection of God’s glory; He is the radiance of God’s glory.

“He (Jesus) is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of His nature . . .” Hebrews 1:3

“He is the Creator of all things and the Heir of all things. He is the very brightness of the glory of God.  Again, it is not enough to say that He is the supreme reflection of divine glory.  Nay, He is the brightness of that glory.  He is the express image of God’s person, the one who bears the imago dei supremely.”  R.C. Sproul

  • Jesus is the sovereign ruler over all creation.

“ . . . but in these last days He has spoken to us by His Son, whom He (God) appointed the heir of all things, through whom He also created the world.”  Hebrews 1:2

  • Jesus is the One who holds all things together.
    • In Christ Jesus all things hold together, but separate from Him all things fall apart.

So What?

If you want to know who God is, He has revealed Himself through Jesus.

If you want the best in this life and the life to come, then Jesus must be first in your life.

If you are separated from God, Jesus has made a way to be reconciled to Him.
