Psalm 96

A Song Worth Singing . . .

• God is worth celebrating and making much of because of His marvelous works. (v.1-3)
  • The most marvelous work God has done for us is His work on the cross.
    • Sing a new song
    • Tell of His salvation
    • Declare His glory among all the nations

• God is unrivaled and unmatched in who He is and what He has done. (v.4-6)
  • Every world religion, with the exception of Christianity, is man’s futile attempt to find and work their way to God.

A Transcendent Cause . . .

• God has invited us to join in the transcendent cause of declaring His glory to all (v.10-13)
  • We must tell every person, in every nation, that Christ has come and He will come again. (v.13)
    • Who will I tell?
    • Who will I invite?
    • Who will I show?

Authentic Praise . . .

• The witness of our faith story is undeniable when the authentic praise of a rescued people worships the One who has rescued us.

“He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God.  Many will see and fear, and put their trust in the LORD.”  Psalm 40:3
