Episode description

Psalms”

Psalm 23

Because God is the Good Shepherd, I Can Trust That . . .

  • He provides every good thing I need. (vv.1-3)

“For the LORD God is a sun and shield; the LORD bestows favor and honor.  No good thing does He withhold from those who walk uprightly.”  Psalm 84:11

  • All I need is found in all Christ

  • He never leads me where His presence doesn’t go before me and remain. (v.4)
    • Wherever He leads, He is always with me. (Isaiah 43:2)

“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me . . .” Psalm 23:4a

  • I have nothing to fear in the shadow of death because Jesus Christ took the sting of death and overcame.
  • I have nothing to fear because His Word and His Spirit are my comfort, my guide, and my protection.

“Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.”  Psalm 23:4b

  • Even in the most difficult circumstances I can delight in His goodness because of His grace.

“You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.”  Psalm 23:5

  • He relentlessly pursues me with His goodness and steadfast love.

“Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life . . .” Psalm 23:6

  • He leads me to the hope of dwelling with Him forever.

“And I shall dwell in the house of the LORD forever.”  Psalm 23:6
