In a large bowl, mix together: 1 stick of butter (cut into chunks) Β½ cup white sugar Β½ cup brown sugar Stir until the mixture is creamy and smooth. Add: 1 egg 2 tsp vanilla extract Mix well until fully combined. In a separate bowl, whisk together: 1Β½ cups all-purpose flour ΒΌ cup cocoa powder Β½ tsp baking powder Β½ tsp baking soda Β½ tsp salt Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients, mixing until a dough forms. Fold in: Semi-sweet chocolate chips (to your preference) Peppermint-filled baking truffles (as desired) Stir until evenly distributed. Scoop the dough onto a baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set. Cool on a wire rack before serving.
