Probably would have won the harmonica bet last week, I'm still up for of, we're still at 423 for the week, but I could have used another and Other week was going to work where we were at YouTube TV didn't work. Try to pull up some of the gaming apps, the Action Network, see some of my bets were doing. It was just, it wasn't working a different country. So and I also did spend a lot of time trying to figure it out. Well, yeah, you're excused. That's quite all right.
Thank you. Well, we look at this week, we'll save our thoughts for Indiana at the end. They do not play this week mercifully. Yeah, yeah, for all of us. Thanks, thanks everybody. But first one, keeping Trend, as we called in week one, Ohio state is still a double-digit favorite. Even though they're playing on the road, they're probably playing their toughest Road game of the year, they're at Penn State. They are still coming in as a 15
and a half Point favorites. I thought about this one for a harmonica bet level. Like I'm that's a big number. I think Penn State's good. It's going to be a new in-game. It's not going to be a knight whiteout, which maybe might have given Penn State a little more Rashad, but I I don't think this is the game. You're going to have a bet on, but what do you think? Ohio State, can they cover 15 and a half in Happy Valley? The over-under on that game Scott is 61. Is that correct?
That is what I see for, for bed, MGM. Yes, That's your back, baby? Right there, take the over on this game. Okay, I'm gonna and I'm going to throw in a little extra for you here to Ohio State team, total over thirty eight and a half. I think that I think they hit that too. So that's why I love this over 61 here. The Buckeyes have scored at least 49 points in five straight games the over his hit and five straight games Penn State's over his hit in three of the last
five. Is and so I think we're going to see some points and Happy Valley on Saturday. We know the Buckeyes are going to put up points. I think their defense is porous enough. That Penn State can also put up a few, you know, touchdowns so yeah. Give me the over on that, and you should be putting 10 bucks on that as well. Oh, I will be you played the harmonica. I have to look at that scenario. Contract the rules, right?
Yeah, this is real. So I have a little bit put off because I mean, I thought I can't guess over unders to like, I thought the harmonica was always going to be point spread, but we'll let this one slide. I'll put the money on it and if I win, I'll always love it. You know, betting in war.
So to speak the over-under on this game opened at 55 and a half, so we're able to get anything under sub 61, you can get it for as low as 60 and a half and as high as 60 to right now, depending on what book you're looking at. So you can look at an alternate lines. But say you got one of those single game parley boosts or, you know, a free single game, parlay better. This is the big thing there. Hawking now because your chances of winning over crap that's why they bet on them.
But if you got one of those and you're feeling a little you know frisky well take the over, take the OSU team total over and then you know tossin OSU and it you know maybe an alternate line that you like maybe get them under two touchdowns at 13 and a half or something like that. But this might be one. I might do something like that on, because I kind of like, I think it's going to be a fairly high scoring game. I think it's going to be like, 49 to like 24 or something like
that. It's kind of where I see this game plan out, so I'm probably going to put a couple bucks on a single gum game part away. I'll post that on Twitter. Okay. Now, I just, I love looking at the the line movement and you taught me this to kind of try and get those lines early. So if you were able to hop on, you know, an over-under like 56 or 57 that would have Devon a great pickup. Well, and that's the thing.
If you're doing the same again, part away, you don't feel so bad buying down on those points so you can get a, you know? Well hey maybe I want 56. Well you can get that you're just you know combine it with some other things you know. So you can be fine. Doing that the Rutgers Scarlet Knights who are not the worst team in the Big Ten because they can beat Indiana. They are traveling to Minnesota. They are a 14 and a half Point underdog.
Who that hook there. So get them at 14, at some places and and so if you can get them at less than 14, definitely, I like Minnesota at Twin by two touchdowns, at least hear the over-under on this game is 40.5, which seems kind of low to me, but I also don't trust either of these offenses to score enough points. So give me the Gophers 14, but I'm not. Going to be betting on this one and the over-under. If I'm looking at that, I would shade towards the under We have Illinois.
Who Indiana be somehow? They're ranked 17th in the country. Illinois is going to Nebraska. Illinois is a seven and a half Point favorite. Yeah, that it needed a win over. Illinois is more and more mind-boggling every week and maybe Bret Bielema is just using that as motivation for his team. I don't know what's going on, but give me the Illini, and I'm going to play those points. I don't think the brassicas very good. It would annoy seems to be pretty decent.
So yeah, all they all lay a touchdown on them. I feel like if Indiana played Illinois next week for more news like it's just feels like maybe Illinois, came in and see enough tape, I don't know. But that, that game is more and more perplexing as the week's go by. I hate to say it's got. But is it possible that Tom Allen smoking mirrors and refusing to name a key starting QB? Actually worked and it might have been enough of A Wrinkle to throw be him off his game.
It's it's popping in. This is the, I mean, This is the best the best wind since like in the last two years. For Tom Allen, right? Like yeah, I was waiting for a two-year stretch but you're right and unfortunately he's probably going to learn the wrong lessons and go double down next year. Like just just have like total smoking mirrors for everything. We have a know who? Yeah well quarterback. I've never heard of it.
Hopefully we don't even know what the position is we're running Wishbone. Like maybe we're not, maybe we are, maybe we're going to never plant. Who knows? All right, we have got the over unders. Keep going down. This is about as bad. An over-under matchup. As you can have, we have Northwestern at Iowa. I may be Iowa at Northwestern might provide a slightly lower over under but you have Iowa favored by 10 and 11 and a half at home. It this is again.
Another reason I will die on this hill, I have 18 more months of this. The Big Ten West is just garbage. Like, in know, Other division would Iowa be a double-digit favorite at home? But yet in the Big Ten West, they are there at 11. A half Point favorite and the over unders 37 and Iowa's garbage. Like none of these things, add up to making me ever, get off the stuff that the Big Ten West is absolute garbage, but anyway, a lot of stuff there, Iowa Northwestern. What do you like?
Well, if you if you look around, you can still get 37 and a half. So, take the under and Watch this people. God, don't watch this football game. Its name wouldn't be good for you. You scare me with these unders Ivy, you've had the bed Iowa under his before. Didn't calm down, calm down. You're not been every one of these, and the bets I recommend are the ones that go up on Twitter. So, you know, you people will know.
And a lot of times these games are in there or in some sort of parley, if some sort fair enough. All right. Next up is Michigan State season on the line. They are three and four, you know, for having such a bad year, they're only three and four, but they're at Michigan. And Michigan is a 22 and a half. Favorite. But yet this is the kind of game that Michigan State, always plays tough.
And it does have that feel where it's like Michigan State can have a dumpster Fire season but they beat Michigan and all is right. Do you like the Spartans to cover that you like the Spartans moneyline? What you feel here? No, I do not like the Spartans money online. I think Michigan would probably cover. Just I know it's rivalry game
and I hate to do this. And I normally would never do this in a rivalry game, but I just don't think Michigan State's that great and Michigan. Seems to be kind of the real deal. I mean, their toughest game so far, was probably the Maryland game and I don't think that Michigan state is as good as Maryland. So I don't know. It's a rivalry game though. So, do with that, what you will, I like the over here, as well. It's 55. I think.
That'll probably end up hitting, but if Michigan State's wins, it's going to be an under type game. So, you know, that's what that's, I think, what they're hoping for some ugly, you know, 18. 217 they squeaked it out Victory. I don't see that as likely There's a real real tasty moneyline parlay on the table here. If you look at like, you know, all moneyline to wins Ohio State, Minnesota, Illinois, Iowa Michigan. that, that seems Pretty tasty. So someone's going to screw that up.
Who is among that group is more most likely to screw it up. It's a great question. I would say probably Iowa, although Minnesota could too. I think it's probably Illinois because it's a road game in Nebraska. And you know, but And it would annoy, I mean, let's face it, they're not, you know, 1948 army or, you know, you know something like that. You know this isn't what? The Grateful great great call. Wow, that's a, the last great TV could think of, I was channeling.
My inner be no cook. I guess, I don't know. Before we before we move on to Hawaii, it's been two weeks since we talked Indiana has lost a Maryland Indiana has lost to Rutgers Galen. I have done one pretty one, postgame pod but let's give you some time to chat about IU football how how you feel and how things how things different? Now that were two weeks later. Things aren't different.
They still suck. And the quarterback still sucks and continues to play every down and the coaching staff continues to be inept and unable to make any changes within a football game that are effective. So, really nothing much has changed in the last couple weeks, other than the record and the record in the loss column. So, you know, I mean, I don't know, I guess we're just stuck with this. You know I mean I don't know what else to say you do at this point. I mean I don't see how it's
going to get better. We don't we won't win another game this year. I can tell you that I don't think so either. I've been saying for a couple weeks now and I've said in crackpot, I'm not sure. We will be a within single digits on spread the rest of the year. Oh no, well, Michigan State. Now, that's all Road and it's on the road.
Yeah, yeah. I mean, and if Michigan State, we could go out and upset Michigan, coming forget about it will be, you know, 12 to Half Point dogs or something easy. So, yeah, I guess unless Purdue like loses out or something, but I'm with you. And I'm not sure, I think we'll probably lose out as well and I'm not sure we'll cover any of those spreads the rest of the year either.
Yeah. It's a, it's a sad State of Affairs and you're not there, I guess, you know, you're not getting rid of Tom Allen. So I don't know what else can be, what else they can do, you know, I mean, so at this point, I guess we just get back to where we were when I, you football was a laughingstock doormat every year and wait for basketball season. I mean, I guess that's why I'm back to you. I have been an IU football fan,
my entire Her life. So like my first games were in the ER you know, the early 80s mid 80s, you know, when I was old enough, you know, to know what's going on. So I've been through this a lot and so I just got a problem was Tom. Allen made me believe for a very small period of time and and I should have never let that happen. I should have known better.
Yeah, don't ever believe but you and I are in similar boats because I started to go to games and probably like 88 87, 88 like right near the the middle, the Heyday, the Mallory era. So I've been at this awhile to, maybe it's our age and you know, I'm staring down the barrel of like, you know, I'm right in that point where I have as many seasons ahead of me as I have behind me of watching. I you football. Hopefully more ahead but something feels different about
this. Like this is almost more depressing because Cuz we've had we've been bad but we've been bad to start careers like, I mean, you know, Kevin Wilson was the 0 and 11 and then like, you know, one no big ten games as first year. 1 is s but it's like you're building something. You have some players in the pipe, you're kind of excited.
You you looking for growth. We've been bad at the end where it's like all right you know Mallory has to garbage years and cigar we're going to fire him and we'll get somebody else thinking. It's going to be good not knowing it won't. I don't remember a situation like this where we're just were Whining.
We're bottom of the Big Ten, but we're not at the beginning or the end of any cycle like we're right in the middle of a coaching cycle and we know that nothing is going to change for two to four years at any of the high level coaching positions. And so it's like that's that's a weird spot to be in and it's also very resigning that it's like, I'm not optimistic for the future because I know there's not we're not growing towards something and we're not going to have a quick change, a coach.
It's like this is I don't know, man. Do you feel any of that if we were in the middle of Jerry to Nardo's last season? And you knew for a fact, we had him for another two years, at least after that. How would you feel? Because that's what it feels. Like, I'm watching here. I mean, this is dinardo era, IU football, and this is just a train wreck, you know, no, one more star do one more, big 10 games. All right, well, okay, so this is Denardo s would even worse.
If you don't. Like, you know, why thing is, you know, when we had antwaan Randle out, we were a bad football team, but man, they were fun to watch, you know, when Kevin Wilson took over, we were a bad football team. The man we were fun to watch because, you know, at least we played a agreeable side of the ball. We're just bad on both sides of the football now, and none of it's fun to watch. Yeah. Now it's it's pretty impressive. A sketball season is right, as a
true IU football fan. I will remind you the basketball season is right around the corner. Yeah. I mean, but is this like we've both been at this for a while, like is this enough to make you check out of IU football for like seasons on a time? No, no. I mean, that's how I like to spend my Saturday afternoon. I mean, that's what I do.
So, you know, I'm not going to like, you know, stop watching football, you know, and I'm still watch out you football and I still root for and I'll still have some action on the games so it's not enough to make me check out, but A much less likely to drive down a Bloomington to go to a game you know I've already debated. Am I going to go to my annual game next year? You know really you're already thinking about that for next year.
Well I'm gonna end up going because it's not a really about the game but you know like right but that's why I'll be going. I won't be going for the game. You know, I'll be going for the other things included with going to the game.
So you know I mean they You could have had me if they were to turn this thing around, but we should have known better, you know, with such a fluky weird season that that would be the one time would be actually pretty decent and I'm not sure we'll ever win a Big Ten Championship in my lifetime but I don't remember for sure. I don't foresee that happening
in my lifetime. Maybe my son's life time, I don't know but but you'd say in our life you know in the last 30 years aside from the Schools that just joined the Big Ten peasant. Every other school been to a Rose Bowl. Yeah, you know I mean that that is mind-boggling bad. You know I you going now also hold the record for most of the losses ever by a division one college football team with over 700. Yeah, well, it's you mentioned, you know, the coming down for
other things. Like I've definitely hit the point, we have two more games. I've talked to my wife about it, like we're planning on coming down for Penn State and Purdue. But now we're in the mode of we're going to come down earlier, enjoy tailgate more. Probably be at the game last but like everything now is highly weather-dependent - I still have a nine-year-old 26 year old and you know it's like if it's going to be really cold or wet or snowy like we're out.
Look it's like I'm If we were good, I debate but it's like now everything is weather dependent for us. See the beauty of it is you can use your kids as an excuse to so he like it's too cold for them. When were secretly is don't want to have to schlep all the way down there and sit on the cold. Watch this football. Yeah but it's funny, you mentioned the Big Ten, you know, winning the Big Ten title.
I will say this, I stand by it. I've been saying this for probably 15 years and now it's like we've gotten to a point. Two things that I've always said, are colliding, like I was like we ever make a Rose Bowl of probably be like with a Rose Bowl, doesn't exist anymore. Like we missed our chance and we're probably barreling toward that time.
When the Big 10 PAC, 12 thing is gone because we've destroyed the Pac-12. But I always said this, I would say it now with maybe like the college football, playoff or the Big Ten title game or I'm not sure what, but I always says for the Rose Bowl for the last 15 years, that if I, you would have made the Rose Bowl, like I was going to go, like, I didn't care what it. Son tickets. You know, I had the talk with my wife, like what number is too
high. I'm like, there's not like, I mean, I think even if we're in like the 20, 30 grand range, like I'm going and I'm going to go to the Rose Bowl because my point was always this, my grandmother was born in 1911 and she passed away in 2008 by all intents and purposes. She had a very nice long healthy life that we would all hope to have. She was cognizant and doing well, all through those, you know, whatever 96. Years. She saw, I you make one Rose
Bowl like it, her lifetime. She had a good run. She got one shot at it and she didn't and she was like a huge football fan but she didn't go. And it's like, I hope to live 90-plus years. Like I can't if they're going to make one. I can't like well I'll get the next one. It's like it's like Halley's Comet. You're going to get one shot in your life maybe you better go. So I would say that's all I you
football fans. Like, maybe the bar is making it to the Big Ten title game now like That's not as tough a bar to climb. But yeah, I'm with you man. Like, if we ever make a run at any of that stuff, like, we all should just go immediately and go do it because it's not like we're going to do it again. Yeah, I mean when the comes made the World Series I was absolutely in Chicago, you know? I mean so I mean I totally get what you're saying and I would
have done the same thing. The Rose Bowl that would've just been amazing, you know, experience and by you could have made it and I could have gone. I definitely would have. But as it stands doesn't look like that's going to happen in its current format. But I don't think a Big Ten title game is the end all be all I would want to win that title. If if we're talking about Like, you know, because winning the the conference that's what I want, you know, and that I think
would include the title game. Yeah, I think that's me. Gotta Give me that would be the Dream Season that's the equivalent of going to the rolls Bol if you're not going to go to a role as well. That's the equivalent for me a great. Although I do think, I think in two years were going to go to the Rose Bowl Parade. I'm just like, I want to go. Do it looks like fun. I've always wanted to see it in person and obviously, I use not going to get there for me to be watching them.
So I'll go rude on. You have a root on like in Wisconsin or somebody or probably, Ohio State. But anyway, let's get to our last game of our picks, your Hawaii rainbows. They are hosting Wyoming and there are 10 point Underdog at home. Ten and a half Point. Underdog at home, over under 50 and a half. Give us your give us your Hawaii. Take. This is definitely definitely under pick. I think this gives going to be super low scoring.
Both of these teams are are notorious for the under and I see no difference here. Hawaii still struggles to I move the ball, although their defense has shown Signs of Life lately. They had a pretty good scrap against Colorado State last week, but were unable to pull it out in the end, which was good because we bet against them on Twitter. So, I like the under here. Okay, keep our Hawaii rainbows. Look alive. And there you go, man.
So yeah, keep up with James on Twitter at cribs and cast, 260. You put everything up there and you can Along with them and have good weeks. Like you did last week even did some my in-game wedding last week. So if you're following along, while you're watching the games, I'm posting my in-game beds. We took Purdue because it had a sweat for a while. When they got down early and took him plus a bunch of points and keep our fingers crossed and
ended up covering. So so those in-game bets are a great way to go people. If you're if you're not sure on a line, give it a few minutes into a game, you'll get a better feel for then. Go ahead. Bat or let's say, Michigan, Michigan State Michigan's up by 23, you know, their, that's their spread. So they will say, Michigan, State scores. I don't know. A touchdown and then gets a pick
six or something. And all of a sudden about 14 to nothing, well, that line is going to swing huge, you know.
So you know, that might be the time, you know, or if there's not a lot of movement, let's say, well, they, you know, there's not a lot of movement, it still has Michigan State plus you know 20. Well they're already up a The 14 and you're getting an additional 20 points, that's 34 total points, you just got 11 points, more than what you got, you know, to start the game or would have got to start the game. So, the in-game betting is a lot of fun.
I highly recommend it. Give it a shot, see what you think. Totally agree. And I look at like that Penn State, Ohio, State game. Like that's probably how I'm going to play it because I think Ohio State's going to win. But yeah, even if Penn State got up by ten nothing or early, it's like that's great because that's probably dropped that. A game line to probably like 7 or 8. And now, it's like now I can get Ohio State's cover seven and I'm really happy this.
This method also works great in the MBA because every NBA game is just a game of a bunch of runs. So you'll see the lines move like crazy on an NBA game. You'll be able to get both teams in any NBA game. Probably getting Five Points, that's it, you know, it's a point within the game usually, so a lot of fun there if you guys haven't tried that, Yeah, I bet against the Pacers is going to be fun this year, because not only, is it, like your I want the Pacers to lose as a Pacers fan.
So I feel I feel good betting against them and rooting for it. I'm wearing a Pacer shirt right now. And the thing is there tanking, but they're tanking with class, you know, they're still putting up a little bit of fight, you know, they're still getting close to covering some spreads but Benedict math or and has been hitting his over points, totals on a pretty regular basis. So keep an eye out on that. It's funny there like my fantasy football. All team, like I watched the
pace like that. You think they're pretty good? Like, I know they're bad areas are the worst team in the league but it's like, dude, Halliburton and matheran. It's like they're I like that core but I really bad like that. Yeah, they're bad but they're fun to watch, right? I mean there Kevin Wilson football, you know, I mean, All we got to do is add Victor, so, all right, enough enough, basketball, talk, James, it's been a pleasure as always.
