You're listening to the back home network, presented by home field apparel. Hi folks, welcome back to Crimson cash. Scott here with you excited to have you guys with us. We are going into week 7 before I get to James a quick shout out as always to our friends at home field, apparel, have you heard of them before? I'm not sure if you listen to Curves and cast maybe you've heard of him once or twice, if you listen to anything on the home network, you know, of crimson cast, they are

fantastic. I think they just released a Fordham University. They have a great Washington collection that's out and they got something for everybody. They also have released their core collection. So if you want, just one of their super cozy sweatshirts or t-shirts about Eddie college logos on it, they have some utterly, fantastic, Illinois, stuff. If I have this trouble, I can't buy teams that are in the Big Ten just because we played them too often.

It is funny. Like I have a couple like some pretty cool, Arizona basketball shorts, and then all of a sudden we're playing Arizona this year, but they have a great Fighting Illini t-shirt a Fighting Illini sweatshirt with like the wings. Like, it's some really cool logos, but it's Illinois and we're probably going to be battling them for the Big Ten and basketball this year. So can't get it.

But, you know, maybe you can or maybe you're living in Illinois and you're able to do it. And if you do buy from them, use promo, code home, say 15 percent off your first order promo code home at home field. Apparel.com, James, we should have bet the under. So you've got the over on the The Illinois Iowa game and it was what 926 we could have at the under twice and still won. Good.

God, I'm trying to debate whether I should just pick the most unwatchable game on the schedule each week and make you bet on that. Because I, that was kind of, I saw that. I was like, oh, poor Scott, I hope he's not watching this. Damn, I was going to tune in and be like, all right, well, I got to see how my bets doing and then I saw a score like oh my God like I'm losing it. This doesn't look like fun. Like I'm out, I'm out. Yeah, by that point in the day, I was already out.

I was done, you know, so it was not the greatest week last week, but you know what? We bounce back, we were a lie. That's that's the way it works. So what do you what? Do you drink it? Now we're doing this a little bit later on Thursday afternoon. The normal. You have it? You have a cocktail, right? Yeah. Well, I don't know if you've ever watched Mad Men. Yeah. Of course, I consider myself a lot like Don, Draper, you know, I get off of work. I like to, you know, pour myself

a nice drink. So, you know, I just poured myself some pop off. Vodka with some big Cade zero sugar, orange drink the orange soda and I gotta tell you I feel very classy right now. I don't know if Don Draper ever drank orange soda guaranteed. Yeah and you look just lightly different than Jon Hamm like now I can't say well but just like a couple little differences between you and Jon Hamm. I know I'm much more attractive. There you go. Set it up for you all. Right.

So it's funny because I'm like, I want to start giving you like I want to start boxing you in. I like I don't want to bet anymore. Indiana to cover lines. I also would love to not have to bet Iowa again or any Iowa to cover an over. But I feel like every week if I keep doing that, we're going to end up having no bets to make before we get going into these this week of lines. I need to pick what you think the harmonica bet or what?

I think you're going to make the harmonica bet and it's tough, man. I normally skim through it. As a god, there's one, there's one. I don't know this week man, like I really don't know, I need to call it. I'm gonna, this one's tough. This is really tough. I'm gonna say that you're probably going to have me bet Illinois to cover six and a half at home, but I'm not very confident with any of that. So let's start with the noon game, or work our way down, and

we'll finish with the IU game. That a lot of games on the schedule. This week, we have Penn State at Michigan. Probably the best game Penn State We'll miss our Michigan is a seven-point favorite at home. Who you like here this line, I don't like this line and it's gone from seven and a half to six and a half seven, it's kind of all around that very, very important touchdown number if it's only no man. It's like Vegas knows.

Yeah. If it's over a touchdown, I think I like Penn State just because I don't think over a touchdown seems like a bit much and it was me, it's under a touchdown. I like Michigan. I think it's probably touchdown game. I think these teams are pretty, even, I actually think it'll be fairly low, scoring the 51 and a half over under.

If I were to bet this game, I probably think the under is probably the best bet on the board, but if it's if it's over a touchdown, take the Nittany Lions, under a touchdown. Take the Wolverines or just stay away from it completely because I don't really know, but I think it'll be close. You can get a 50 and a half for the over-under on a bed MGM right now. So check that out. Yeah, man, I don't know which of these teams is real, like a

really don't? I think their defense is, are both ahead of their offenses and Michigan. Michigan was not able to exploit Indiana's, secondary, the way other teams were, which makes me suspect about their passing game. And their land and their, you know, big play pass game and so, you know, II don't know are they going to be able to just run it against Penn State that seems

highly unlikely? So I do think this might be a lower scoring game, that's a good, that's a good point because you would normally say well, Michigan is wasn't, you know, they weren't taking any and a seriously or they, you know, didn't want to use their all their playbook, but it's like it was 10 at half time and whether you thought it was like, you know, you know, whether you felt like they were going to

pull away or not. It was still 10 10 at half time like at that point of your Michigan, you got to kind of quit screwing around and you're right. They never bird us deep like Nebraska was able to do or like Cincinnati was able to do. So that's a, that's a good observation, you're not dude. You're earning that. That orange drink today don't tell yourself. That's, that's, that's the juice. My friend. That's the juice is talking, you're on fire. We got to get it back.

We've had like two or three losing weeks in a row. Next up. You have Minnesota. Golden Gophers at Illinois. Illinois is a six and a half. Point favorite. I think this is the harmonica game. I think it's Illinois and the points, cover the six and a half spread, but I'm not confident at all. I'm not confident any of these games honestly, but that's where you like the Gophers were the favorite by six and a half, right? Because that's what I have. The dude you're right.

I have that totally flipped around, sorry I'm completely flipped around well then yeah. I oh yes, Illinois is going to cover a six and a half point. Spread at home my gosh. I'm so wrong. I'm so off on this. So you're even more on board. Now, I'm even more onboard, you're probably going to be like, no, I want the Gophers to cover, six and a half. Yeah, sorry. Gophers are six and a half Point favorites. Actually I like Illinois. Getting six and a half points.

I think we'll probably end up a field goal. Ibrahim is the key factor here, if he's back at running back for the Gophers, there are much, much, much tougher team. They've had some time to heal and get rested up, so I do think Gophers probably win. But I think the alliance IR Scrappy enough on defense to kind of keep it close. I don't know how well they'll be able to move the ball. Well Minnesota though. So this 39, we see yet another really low over an r and an Illinois game.

We may think about that under but I might stay away from it. But yeah. Six and a half points is too many for a team, like, Illinois. That's done fairly well. Yeah. So normally I would probably redo some of the, the podcast just to fix it, but we are, I'm going on vacation next week. And so, whether Crimson cash, Happens. Next week is going to be up in the air. We're going to, we're going to the Caribbean all say in a very excited.

So I mind might be elsewhere, so don't have time to re to repot some of this stuff so apologize. The listeners that I totally missed that lineup, but yeah, there's that. I will send some pictures from where I'm at next week, all right. Next up, we have Wisconsin, at Michigan state. Wisconsin is the favorite. I think I got that, right. Make sense by the way, I'm just going to go back to that game. Like it's not illogical that Illinois could be a favorite at home.

I mean they're five and one their lost against Indiana's. Look great. They're ranked Minnesota has been there for and one looked a little shaky like it's I'm just I'm giving myself some credit, you know, like James Harden. I want to give myself credit and you know. Well, but that should be a sure sign. You should be betting if you thought the Illini were almost a touchdown favorite and you were, you thought that was a good bet. You know what I'm saying? The next do I do?

We might be taking them. Plus the fact take some juice on the money line that, you know, I think, you know, if you, if you believe in him, I think I will. Alright. So Wisconsin at Michigan state. Wisconsin is a seven and a half Point favorite over Michigan State James, what do you think? Go Badgers. That's why Wisconsin accent there go Badgers. Yeah, not this one. Yeah, that's where you're going to go.

And this is a, this is more a bet against Michigan State than anything but they will look Dreadful and Wisconsin. Showed some wife. You know, last week we said, stay away from Wisconsin Northwestern. Well, we weren't sure what was going to happen and Wisconsin blue, the barn doors off of them. So I think the Badgers are back and seven and a half. And if that thing gets Under seven, go, go, go, go. That's what I say. So, I'm taking that.

So that's where you should put your $10 Scott, I will and I think we're at now like we're 3 and 3 for the ten dollar harmonica. That's so this is a week that's going to make or break. Whether I'm drinking big time in the Caribbean or whether I'm crying. Like, I got to win this, to make some to know if I'm got some spending cash or not. Well, your all inclusive. Should be drinking all the time. Anyways, don't drink, the water, just the booze. Don't yes.

Yes, like, yes. Like singing be a pirate. Yeah, yeah. It's like being a pirate. Yeah, I just drink in the garage all day long. All right. Next up, we have Nebraska at Purdue another road team with an interim. Coach Nebraska is a 13 and a half Point Underdog at Purdue. Yeah. This game, I have no idea what to do here. Produce should beat Nebraska pretty handily. I had it at 14 so that maligns moved a little I think under 50 Six and a half, is the play

here. If I were to bet this game I that's where I'm going to go. I think this is going to be a lower scoring game. For his defense, is surprisingly not been bad and their offense has yet to really get clicking. So I don't know if Nebraska's defense is going to be, you know, You know, the one to let that start happening or not. But yeah, I like the under here, fifty, six and a half, have you won an over-under this year? But you're doing, you're struggling on those. It depends.

I don't bet him a lot with like the beds. I actually put my money on. We can all find on Twitter at Crimson cast to 60. So, you know, I do these analysis here of where I would and might go on a game. But where I'm actually putting the money you can always sing. So you're like, Jim Cramer your transparent. Always. Oh my, I am. I'm an open book people. All right, last one Maryland at Indiana. Indiana is a 11 and a half.

Point Underdog at home this game opened with Maryland, being a 13 and a half Point. Favorite is moved down to 11 and a half James who you like. Okay, Scott. So I was proud of Tom Allen for doing the right thing last weekend and making some changes. But I don't know how effective those changes are. To be, you know, this far into the season. So that being said, this is an awful big line and 30 and a half was kind of crazy.

I think Indiana can hang with in two touchdowns mostly because I think the defense can stop them now. The problem is the Talia tongue of Aloha, well done. Well done with the drinking again, and he has Quite the Deep arm and that has been the Achilles heel for the Hoosiers to this year and Maryland defense is not awful. I think Marilyn probably covers Us. I don't plan on buying this game. I have not had fun betting on the Hoosier so far this year so I'm going to stay away from bedding.

It I think Marilyn, probably covers but wait till the game starts and you're going to bet this is because this IU team, they're all over the map last. Weak kind of snake bit me on them because I mean that first half of football I had no idea who that football team was outside the first two minutes of the game where look like Michigan was going to win. Fifty six to nothing, you know and then and then you know they tend to 10 at the half and then they just get smoked in the

second half. So you know, you look at this trend of IU, they're not starting well and they're not making second half adjustments, and it tends to get worse. The game goes on If I use sticks around in the first quarter or so, you're going to see that 11 and a half number start to creep down. That's when if you, you know, towards halftime, that's probably the best time if you're going to want. Maryland to cover a spread, you can get a much better number that.

Yeah, I agree with you. I have not done well betting the Hoosiers this year, right? When I think I got them, figure it out. Like I did going into the mission game. It's like, all right, I got this pretty well ironed out then. They play a great first half comes out of nowhere and I lost my first half. Michigan bet my first half bet on that. I lost the game bat because the Hoosiers snuck in a cover as a 21 and a half point line. They want they lost by 21.

I've lost second half, Western Kentucky. I lost the Western Kentucky game. Like I've just I've not and then when I thought like, all right, well, they could probably cover the Nebraska game and they can't do that. I've not had any luck betting, the This week I think they're I'm afraid they're going to lose but I can't figure how what the score is going to be like I'm like you man I'm on. Stay away territory for buy you.

This probably the rest of the season just because I can't quite get a grip on where this team is. What do you think win or loss? In this game? You think the Hoosiers could can beat Maryland? I think anything's possible. I you know I give them a 33% chance. I think I don't want. 3-shot. A baton mm. They see they've played Maryland tough over the years. You could also say Maryland's, played them tough over the years, but they usually have a pretty decent game between the two.

So anything's possible, they're at home and Maryland's coming off a loss. I use coming off a loss. I mean well that's nothing new for the Hoosiers but it is fairly new for Maryland and you know, Purdue their defense was able to shut down Maryland. So who's to say Tom? Couldn't come up with the defensive scheme to shut him down, you know? So the other thing and because we bet Maryland this year, we know they make a lot of

boneheaded mistakes. Now I you does too but Marilyn makes a lot of ones so you know, that's something to come back to bite him. So if you know certain things go I use way I think. Yeah, they could pull off the upset mess. Okay, that's a good point with

the mistakes. I remember thinking that in the second half of the Michigan game, it's like as telling the friends I was sitting with is like still 1010 and I'm like, Indiana is going to have to win this which is like I know it's like no es Sherlock but it's like a lot of times you can play teams, they make mistakes like what Nebraska?

It's like all right. They could they could screw something up here and you know let us back in but you always have that feeling with Michigan. It's like all right we're going to have to take this Victory like they're just Michigan's going to have good field position like they're going to just do smart things. Like we're going to have to beat them versus My Gluck into a victory, but like, you know, capitalize on mistakes. Like this aren't going to be as mistakes. You're right.

Maryland could make those mistakes, whether we capitalize on them or not. Is another thing, do you? You mentioned the Hiller firing. I didn't. It's funny, Gayle and I did a whole pot, it happened like an hour after that happened. He had Taylor, I'm so great talk to him about it, but I kind of mentioned this in the Pod with gaalan just you know, talking about it. Theoretically and again, I think there's a Venn diagram of people who listen to Crimson cast 100%, listen to Crimson cash or vice

versa. So I don't think this is new ground for anybody but I would just reiterate that it we think it's going to make a difference. I think it's good that they made a change because it's a results-based business and V

word out there. But you know this would be like if you know, in basketball when Nebraska basketball is like the worst rated team and Ken pom by all metrics in the Big Ten if they're like, we just changed our third assistant on the bench and be like, well, that doesn't matter, like that's like in the middle of the seasons. Like, all right, like that,

that's not going to do anything. So I would imagine somebody outside the I use fear if you took a breath, it's like, hey, the worst team to statistically in the Big Ten, just change their offensive line coach not there. Coach or they're, you know, offensive coordinator. You'd be like like if you add told that to a Penn State fan, they bake. Yeah. Who cares? Like that's not going to do anything in week six of the season. So I do think there's something to that.

It's like I think of all the group's offensive line seems like one where it's kind of a schematic thing that takes a season to implement. We're like maybe a wide receiver running back coach could come in and make some changes you know on a couple things it feels like the o line is not something you can just tweak in you know, two days and stuff. It could change the middle of the Season.

Well, you know I mean it's one thing if you're making that change and it's a coach that everybody hates and their dog in it because they don't like him and you get him out and you know all of a sudden the group goes up. That's not the case here by loves Hiller. I mean, that's why I stuck around for so long because everybody seems to love the guy you know you're right. Offensive line is a scheme thing, it's working together but if there's you know, I mean there are tweaks that can be

done. There are you know, changing up your footwork and You know you know we're hand level and you know where, you know where you're going, where you're moving and you know what scheme you're running you know and how do they talk to each? Other is a lot that goes into it. It's a coordinated dance. The most important part of a football team as the offensive line. And there's a lot that goes into it as a former fat. Can't trust me. I know I played some offensive line, you know?

So I mean yeah there are things that coach can do to make some immediate changes, you know? Hey don't do this. Do this instead. But a lot of it, you're right, is it takes what? It takes time to build that kind of, you know, cohesiveness as a unit and you know, takes a lot of practice reps to do that and they just don't have the time

now to do that. I also think what I'm about to tell you is kind of know a no-brainer, but it is a weird spot where like we're leaving for fall break, Saturday morning early. And I told this to Galen, I'll ask pose you kind of the same question, but after I talked to Gateway of the pie with Gail on Sunday, I was like, hey man, like I'm going to be back I'm gonna be out for the pod on Sunday next week so I don't I'm gonna be out of country.

I'm not sure if I'll be able to watch the Maryland game, I'll do my best to pick up with it later, depending on how the internet is, but I know I'll be Be back in time to watch the Rutgers game and I'll be on for the Rutgers postgame and I was like Galen think it's weird. So I'm only going to be gone like, you know, it's only nine ten days away but it does feel. Like next time, I talk to Galen after the Rutgers game our season will either be like will know where the season is going.

I think it's pretty simple statement to make but you would, you would you agree with that? That like basically the next time you and I talked which will be Thursday, the 27th going into basically a i you by Week will pretty much know whether this season has any life or for DOA. Oh, absolutely me.

They have a, they have to winnable games, you know, I didn't put the Hoosiers. Chances are very high on winning this game, but it's a winnable game and if they can go out and take this, and Rutgers is definitely a winnable game, you know, I mean, who knows, you know, crazier things have happened. I think Michigan State's a winnable game as well. So, you know that puts us at what You know, you win those three games. That's a bowl game, right? That's a, you're playing for a

bowl game against Purdue mean. That's, that's the worst. So in those two, that's that's your scenario. Yeah, so then in the next two weeks, you got to win one of these to do, at least get the bowl game chance against Purdue, you know? Like because that's you know, that's, you know, is who's your fans we've faced that consequence more than a few times? A bowl game on the line with the game against Purdue when it happens and we win, it's pretty nice. You know it is what I was saying.

Had I'm a little worried, our offensive line scares me. I think that's going to prevent us from winning football games, but I don't know that it will prevent us against Rutgers Michigan State, possibly Maryland. I would agree. I would say cuz I'm not going to talk to you folks for a while for at least two weeks. I would say you got to win the next to like, next time on the Pod, talking to Galen Sunday, the 23rd, we need to have we

need to be five wins. Just I don't think that you can go into the break with four wins and then you're going to probably get smashed by Penn State and Ohio State. And it's like what, what kind of a team mentally and what kind of team psyche? Are you taking to Michigan State? The following week is what concerns me and people are kind of looking at that like Michigan state has not had a good season. That's, that's a very true

statement. I would also say us just being like, Oh, yeah, we're Going to go to East Lansing and beat the Spartans. It's like we don't do that very often. We also have not had a great season since you know the stats on this team are not great. Our o-line has been a mess, our offense, as we haven't scored at a point in the second half in Two and a Half games. So it's also tough for me to just say that's you know, we got a real shot at that. Like I think it's probably a 20

percent chance. We're going to win at Michigan State so it's like to me you've and then it's like you got to win two in a row, back to back. Act like you got to go in at four wins in the mission State way, you know, getting two wins to go to a bollock. I just I think I think you got to win the next two. If you're going to take a bowl, I don't think they will. But I feel like that's what's

got to happen. I'm going to be not if we go one and one yes there's still life there, still a heartbeat, but I think we're kind of kidding ourselves because again, go back and look how many times have we won at any Slants? Yeah, don't go look that up. Don't don't Google that kids. Alright, last thing for we wrap up, we got to go to our favorite non Big Ten team. This is the Indiana, Maryland game was the lowest bedded game Action. Network shows like how many bets are on this game.

It's like 3,000 bets in this game. We're going to Hawaii, which is the second. I thought was the worst bedded game in the Mountain West, but it's the second lowest bed of game. Only one point, six thousand better. Are showing on this game. You have Nevada at Hawaii. Hawaii is a six and a half Point Underdog at home to Nevada. All right, well if you're still up at midnight on Saturday and you're looking for something to watch, keep flipping, this is going to be a horrible football game.

These are two really, really, really bad football. Teams whose only wins respectively, come against FBS opponents. So, They're not too far off from being FBS schools themselves. However, give me the Rainbow Warriors, get and 60. Indians are six and a half points. I also think the under forty nine and a half here, I think it's more. You have a low scoring Affair, you know, say aloha to our Football. Saturday. Hey real quick. Before we go.

I'm gonna go back to the Big 10 lines if I did because I like Illinois at home, I do. What do you think of this? A money line parlay, you go Maryland, Michigan Illinois, Wisconsin and Purdue. That'd be pretty high odds. Wouldn't be awful. I mean, if you'd basically have all favorites in Illinois, you see the Illinois to win. Well, yeah, I mean there's the rub and nobody else tell, you know, lay an egg. Yeah, you know. And you know, so that's the thing.

You know, you start getting those long parlays, you know, I do a lot of parlays and you know, one of the things you got to be careful of that. I was not careful of last weekend is making sure you don't put the same damn bed or same game in different ways, different Parlays, I know, I know it kills me once a year like man, I can't believe I have like the cheese and everything. Yeah, that happens when you have too many pop off and die, a big K, orange sodas too much, too

much. Don Draper in your life, exactly. It's like, you know, it's like you bet on January Jones, but it just didn't come in. Yeah, all right. Well James, I appreciate it. Thank you for hopping on, as And when I talk to you next, I will be well rested, hopefully a little more tan, hopefully a little more money in my account after a nice Veronica win. And we will know I think a real good feel for the fate of where

this Hoosier team is going. So thank you guys all for listening and thank you for sticking with us this football season. We're gonna bring it back, three and three. We're going to come back strong. The next two weeks. We may or may not have a crimson cash. Next week. We're going to see what the internet is. Like, where I'm To be staying and stay tuned. Everyone's on pins and needles. I know it. Until next time. Thank you all for listening. This is Scott for James for Crimson cash.

Signing off. Post on, I consider myself a lot like Don, Draper, you know, I get off of work. I like to, you know, pour myself a nice drink.
