I bet I should have just taken Illinois in Money line, but I took the points, I lost the over-under, but still won against Nebraska. Think it would be fun to bet against Nebraska all season,
it's going to be great. I may take Fordham over on Nebraska, who knows, but yeah, that was fantastic. I actually looked for a way to get Illinois giving points and couldn't find that line anywhere. So, I had to take them on the money on. Also, I've gotten we had a couple notes in our Facebook chat about the, the cursing that Provide in the podcast. So I'm trying to solve Center on the Crimson cast pods but I will say explicit warning. Now this is a big gambling pod.
Some of the stuff James sent me for our quick hitter. Last week, There's a five iterations that were unacceptable but if you're listening with kids in the car but I got two young kids. Listen the pods all the time. I would say now is the time to turn it down because I'm not going to censor for Crimson cash. So let's fucking go like let's fucking go. It's week one. All right, let's go. We're going to keep these quick week one, Ohio State, at Minnesota, Ohio state is a 14-point favorite. Here's what I was thinking about, with this game, big Minnesota's gonna be pretty good this year, but it would be like, imagine if I could tell you, hey, there's a new movie called Star Wars coming out and is actually not the second one. It's The Empire Strikes Back and you're able to Money on Darth Vader and the Empire. Like the team with the fucking death.
Star of you get to put money on them, wouldn't that be fun? It would be, you get to do it here. 14 points, a lot, Ohio state is really, really good. I'm taking a house. This will be a probably a reoccurring theme. I'm taking Ohio State and points.
Yeah, I jumped on this when it was 13 and a half earlier in the week, it has moved down to 14. I'd still taking it, I put another bet on it. Today, I've got Ohio State - In points in the first half line, I think there's no way Minnesota can hang with Ohio State. Now, if that goes wrong I'm kind
of screwed. But I don't think that's going to. I like to go hiyo State on the money line in a parlay that I'm doing just you know to add a little extra to it. Minnesota's not going to win this game in Minnesota is not gonna get within two touchdowns. I mean, look at the history when these two teams get together, it's not pretty. So yeah, give me the Buckeyes. Give those points. And no knock on Minnesota's. Just like a hush tastes really good.
Here's a line that shocked me Northwestern last year was the Big Ten West Champion, whether I mean I was probably a better team but that was still a team that won a lot of games. Michigan state is like a dumpster fire within a dumpster fire. They're on the road. Somehow northwestern's, only a three and a half Point favorite, which if you assume like three points for being at home, but that's a Pick'em. What the fuck?
So I'll take Northwestern and lay three and a half and feel really good about it. I don't understand what, what am I missing here like is? I don't know, is Rocky Lombardi. Also going to come back in time and retransfer back and become Vince, Lombardi and bring Bart Starr back and I don't know what's going on like Northwestern three and a half and I'm putting a lot of money on that. Yeah, that's one of those lines. That really jumped out to me,
too. And these week one lines are usually really weird, you know, usually you're getting these giant spreads and you got this game because I think they have no idea what to do with either of these teams. But Michigan state was such a mess last year. I don't get the respect that they're getting in this. So, I am with you. I have also already taken Northwestern. Wait, those points. So, yeah, I'm with you right there.
Next, don't you did miss the other Thursday game, you glossed, right, over our other Thursday game and I really, I really want to talk about this one, it's Rutgers versus Temple. That's how I was going to that next. Sorry, it's Winona, we got makeup moves because matter it's a Saturday game now because Rucker stadium is flooded. I didn't know that. I was all excited about winning some money on Rutgers tonight so they pushed it to Saturday, really, really if you're excited about football.
And you are really, really into this game and you want to bet on this game. I've got some numbers for you. Ready? Scott. Go one, eight, one. Eight hundred nine with it. No human being should be subjected to having to watch Temple and Rutgers play a football game in a flood. I mean they can be played in the bathtub. It sounds like so this is going to be no good. However, I did take Rucker's and gave 10 points. I took an alternate line and put it on a parley somewhere.
So, but I think Rutgers wins by two touchdowns easy. Yeah, I mean Rutgers is they're 14 and a half Point favorites at home. I don't know, man. I'm going to take temple in the points. Just I don't think, I don't think temples good. I just think it's going to be a sloppy field.
It's going to be a mess. It might just be one of those games where it's like, Rutgers gets up by 10 is like, we're just moving on. I'm not super comfortable that, but I like Rutgers, I just don't think they are worthy of a 14-point wine. The under might be a good play here. That's a Call next up another Saturday game. We have, and we're saving you for last. We have Michigan and Western Michigan, Gala. And I looked at this on our season Preview Michigan schedule is just garbage.
Like, they are so ready to be 7 in 1, ranked 9th, and Country and be so overvalued. They are a 17-point favorite at home. I like them to actually cover this. I like Michigan - 70 now. The Michigan's good team. I think you're gonna get a lot of value on them later on where some lines are a little bit too big. But I think for this, I don't think Western Michigan is super good.
I don't think Michigan is very good either, but I think they're going to be able to crush bad opponents, and then they're going to get crushed as the season goes on. So I would take Michigan. Length, 17 points. Well, this isn't nearly as much fun. We're agreeing on everything. But, you know, you've heard people say, you know, horrible is going to lose his job if he loses the Indiana Ohio State again, or what look if he can't beat Western Michigan by that by 17 points.
There's a problem. There's way bigger problems. In Ann Arbor, they don't win this game, by at least three touchdowns, I'd say he's immediately on the hot seat. So, I'm going to take Michigan, I'm going to lay those points Penn State at Wisconsin Wisconsin's, a five and a half Point favorite. I'ma keep it simple again, I'm not sure Penn State, I don't know if they were good. This is a lot of respect for a team.
In Wisconsin, who is very steady, Eddie, we joked about Iowa being the IRS in our pregame as well, like Wisconsin is very much The same like they are the same every year that they don't have like super down Seasons Camp. Randall is not super easy to play and it'll be their first home game with fans and I don't know, I think I could see Wisconsin winning by 7. So I like, I like Wisconsin.
I've got them taken a lot of teams to cover point spreads, but I like Wisconsin, land, five and a half. Well, finally, we disagree on something. I'm sure we can agree on this how horrible it is to have these big ten games to start a season. Yes, I would This game should be played in October, you know, or November Camp Randall. In September is not nearly as daunting as Camp, Randall in November. So, I'm going to take Penn State. I'm going to take five and a
half points. This could be a field goal game either way. They're both good teams and Wisconsin. Last year, towards the end of the year was not playing great offensive football, Iowa and Indiana, both held him down pretty well. Now a lot of that Had to do with the covid issues that they had all throughout their team. So it's really hard to judge who they are and what they are thinking.
Like the team that just took it to Illinois last year in the first half of the first game or they gonna, you know, look like they did against Indiana and Iowa, I'm going to take Penn State, I'll take those points. Here's what I love. You have Fordham at Nebraska, Nebraska is a 41 and a half Point favorites. Okay. And kind of like what I said last week, like the fuck is this based on? Like, this is the kind of line that you see when Alabama is playing a bad team, like yeah, I
get fordham's, not going to win. I'm not about to call for to moneyline here. Said, 40, why don't you Howard? Yeah, yeah. Go Farley that with Minnesota moneyline. I mean, here's the thing, Indiana is a better team than Nebraska. They're not going to have a forty one and a half point line, any time this season. Even they play, like Idaho Idaho's a better team than Fordham.
This is just a bunkers line and just for fun, I love taking Fordham in the points, like 41 and a half is just an absurd number of points, maybe to Braska, gets it like, prove it to me. We they can score 50 points. That'd be nice. But yeah I it's just it's going to be fun betting against Nebraska all season. I think you're going to make some money and this is one where it's just a point. Play like 41 and a half is again fucking Bonkers for to what's the over-under on that Scott.
The over-under is 55 and a half they think fordham's like not going to score. Yeah it's either for you know it's going to be 49 27 is you know kind of where this predictions coming out at. I don't see that happening. I actually like the under here, I think that's the play because I mean, if Fordham scores is not going to be more than a touchdown probably like, what are they?
An FCS school, I'm guessing. Yeah, yeah, and and Nebraska will eventually call off the dogs if they can even find the end zone to begin with. So, yeah, I'm gonna take the under here, doesn't the Brassica to find the dogs first or they can call them off? Like, do they have dogs to call off? Well, maybe they're still in hiding from their secret workouts. Who knows, you know, maybe half the team like It was stuck in the escape room that they were using to do their secret
workouts and never made it back. Next up, you have Western Virginia at Maryland. Maryland is a three point Underdog at home to West Virginia or West Virginia. Sorry. West when I say yeah West Virginia or Western, I mean, Western Virginia. To we have West, Virginia, Maryland. I want you to go first. So I don't know the answer, I don't know what I'm thinking here. Who the hell knows? The answer to this question and
this is a question. Do what he wants to ask you know, Maryland, West Virginia. What the hell? I'll take Maryland. And get I'm getting three points. Yeah. I mean they're at home. You're getting an underdog at home. It's one of these things I think will know just right away whether Maryland's good or not. And so the over-under on that game the over could be a good play. Yeah 57 and a half. That's a low. Yeah, I like that. I like the over there. I think that would be my play.
I don't plan on putting any money on this although if I'm watching the game and it's fun, I might end up but I doubt it next up. You have Purdue hosting. Oregon State, not Western Oregon State, but Oregon State Purdue is a seven-point favorite enjoy that Purdue one of the few games this year, you might be a favorite. I guess, this is an early sign of the ACC Big Ten Pac-12 Alliance. There you go. I don't know. Much about Oregon State. I know that I don't think Purdue was good at all.
I don't like Purdue having to. I just don't like Purdue being, you know, a favorite at all. Enjoy betting against Purdue I'm soaking. Oregon State plus 7. Well, I knew you were going to do that because you do love betting against. Yes, it's fine, you know, anyways, I think I'm going to take the boilers and give the touchdown. I think. Jeff brohm is better than whoever the hell. Oregon state has a coach, because I don't know who it is.
Big Ten schools generally better in Pac-12 schools and Purdue and Oregon State, or about the same in each conference. You know, they're both towards the bottom. I'm going to take the boilers, get the points. University of Texas, the roadrunners, not 90 versus Texas, but UTSA the road runners are going to Illinois. I think it will noise like not bad. There are five and a half Point favorite here at home.
I like Illinois and I'll have to lay those five and a half points, but I like Illinois on this. Like I think, I think they're a better team than what they're getting credit for. I agree with you there. I mean they've had a pretty soft schedule so far. So if you can't really count that Nebraska, Aska wind, you know, in their column because I mean who couldn't beat Nebraska at this point. But, you know, UTSA University of Texas. San Antonio is a commuter school
about an hour outside. San Antonio, why do I know this? Because they were one of the schools that were playing during weird time during code last year and I've been on like almost every one of their games. They play army, they play schools like that. They are not five and a half points, you know, within five and a half points of Illinois. So I'm going to take, I'm going to lay the points. I think Illinois should wind up by at least a touchdown.
All right, coup de gras. Here's the big moment. Indiana at Iowa. I'm going to be there, which is easily a half point for Indiana, cause I'll be cheering loudly, Iowa is a three and a half Point favorite, the over-under is 45 points. I mean, I like I begin the end of defense is good, but I think our defense is good enough to actually get some points on defense. I think 45 is a really low over under, I mean, Northwestern, Michigan state has 45 and a half.
This is the lowest over under of any big 10 game happening this week. You know, you look at some of Indiana's games last year. They had some pretty, some games are they scored some points. I think I like the over. I like Indiana plus three and a half out Like Indiana moneyline. I think it'd be amaz going to win this game. So I'm probably going to bet all 3 of those. I've already been two of them are very bad, Indiana moneyline. I put more money in Indiana, plus three and a half.
Just get the points and take a win. Hopefully, but I like all of those things, but that's, that's where I'm at money. Where the mouth it mouth? Is this one's hard for me. Scott, because the last time I was really sold on Indiana football. They screwed me over against Ole Miss in the bowl game and it was the worst single gambling day I've ever had. That being said, I think I'm ready to drink the Kool-Aid again. Go. Now I do have some concerns here.
I would not take that over. I saw something. Iowa has like the longest streak in the country of allowing less than 24 points in a game. So you know if you're looking like a 24:21 game probably somewhere in that range, looking at a close game with two pretty decent. Defense has. I'm going to go with the best quarterback on the board and the quarterback between these two teams is Michael panics and he is healthy, and he is ready to
play. I've already taken the Hoosiers on the money line, so I have put my money where my mouth is and I'm ready for them to go up to Iowa. City and win a ballgame which they haven't done since when great question. Yeah. Exactly 80's 90's. It's been a while. It's been a while. So it's it's so hard having seen so many eiu football games in my life. To pick them to win a game on the road. Like, it's just, it just doesn't happen, but it's happened.
More recently, and it has to happen at some point in time statistically. So, let's do it. Let's let's get a win here because I'm going to the game against Idaho, and I want a perfect record going into that game. So let's do a voice. Indiana, Indiana beats. Iowa. What is our line against Idaho in that game? I, I say that we are Twenty-four Point favorites. I think it depends. How are you beat Iowa if it's a real close. Nail-biter like a 17 to 14 type
thing. I think you can see a spread somewhere around like 17 and a half. Yeah I think if I you goes out and wins by three touchdowns you're probably going to be somewhere around twenty four and a half. Yeah well we're not going to yeah. You probably run, maybe 17. I don't see a speeding Iowa by three touchdowns I think no matter what is a close game. So you're at, well, well, there is a way. You mentioned at the defense
starts getting some pick sixes. That's the way things could get out of hand and You Know, Tamar Johnson's on the Broncos, but there's still some town in that secondary. So I'm an, it's been good. There's week one. I think we hit em all my, if I had to pick my like a lock, lock, a lock of the of the week, its Northwestern at three and a half points. And I just, I love love that pick mine would be Ohio State - two touchdowns. Yeah, especially those Ohio State minus 7 in the first half
tonight. I'm telling you that is like, the can't believe that's even on the board as possibility. So, Yeah, to their also then there are also three and a half minus three and a half in the first quarter. So there's some interesting places you can get tonight and try some of those single game parlays out, you can get some promos and free bets off of those so yep. And then, I think I'm going to end up hopefully starting my
weekend off, right? Like, just because they normally tell you, like, Oh No, and when you put it in like, oh no, like the limit is only $25 for a bed of this type, but I made the bet at like, 200 bucks and it took the BET and it wasn't like the promo. Is like, just I had bet straight, like there will be a touchdown in a playoff game this weekend. There's like 200 to win like $202, and it was like shit, like because I didn't want to bet 200 bucks on like, I'm, I'm pretty
confident. Like, there's gonna be a touchdown and like one of the eight games. It's like the first game, the first quarter. I'm like, can we just get a touchdown? I think it might have been like 500 bucks. It was just, it was a huge amount of money where it's like, I'm winning like five bucks, but it's like, there's it would be Bonkers, but this would just be The the way that I would lose 500 bucks, just basically give them gambling, the rest of my life. And I went back and read that
and got the promo. So I get like had double down it's like I just need a touchdown was like if I was joking with friends and if there was one game like the first game of the weekend just went like, you know, six to three score I would have been like.
