You're. Listening to the back home network presented. By Home Field Apparel. We are back on Crimson Cash, James, what's up, man? We're just, we just, I mean, like, let's stop, start the pod. You're asking me how Pasadena was? How you doing man? I'm great, great, man. I was stuck in Indiana for the game, But man, I'll tell you what, I had a great time watching it. How was it out there? It was awesome.

It was awesome and there was so many IU fans wandering around Pasadena, the venue that there's an alumni event beforehand that a lot of us went to that was was very well done by IU. And although no Upland Brewery there. Who's your game day Shout out to them. One of our sponsors also Home field Apparel Home 23 get 50% first purchase. There you go to get all the. Was there the game day vodka? There's there was, there was vodka. There was definitely vodka.

No game day vodka, not the Hoosier Connect vodka, but shout out to Home Field Apparel. There's a lot of that in the stands. And shout out to Upland Brewery. But the stadium is, it's awesome, man. Like we talked about in the in the pod with Galen, it's like all the concourses are outside. It's very unassuming. But you get in and the place is big and there is, there's a good IU contingent probably. I know I was saying 30% over and over again. It probably closer to 2025%.

But we were loud. We are proud. And then I think for most of us, it was kind of a very just kind of UN unusual experience. It's like we're winning and then we're beating them and then we're taking control and then we're watching UCLA fans walk out and it's like we weren't used to how to handle ourselves with that. What came through on the broadcast, like the IU fans really came through on the broadcast.

That was really cool to hear. I mean, you could hear, you know, IU, you know, chance out on the stands. And I mean, that was just awesome. It was awesome. Yeah, How was I've not gone back and watched the game? What was the broadcast view of of how they saw things? I mean, it became pretty evident that IU was the dominant team and and it just became a lot of that. And how good is Curtis Rourke and how how many receivers do they have? Like you really, Donovan McAuley had what?

One catch in the entire? Game, I know like only a couple of targets too. And that dude is like all American level talent, like, and he hasn't even hardly played this year. I mean, he's had some injury issues. So, you know, he's getting back in the swing of things, but imagine what they could be. My goodness, in that running back room. I know a lot of it. We, you know, Sydney has really

turned this thing around. This is a whole different world we're living in. Yeah, I, I think this was an eye opening experience for a lot of people. People like you and me and Galen, I think we were definitely, we, we understood, we saw some changes, but it's, I think we also needed to see it happen.

And I've been saying this for a while, you know, even if UCLA is not great, which maybe they aren't, it's like two things can be true at the same time, where good Big 10 teams go on the road and they decimate, you know, they, they curb stomp bad Big 10 teams. So you can be like, all right, UCLA is bad, but this is also what a good team does. Like it doesn't mean that IU can't also be good in that same

sentence. You know one of the things about being an IU lifelong IU football fan because I've seen a lot of bad football. I do what else I've seen, I've seen a lot of good. Football on the other. Side, we play Ohio State every year we play Michigan. I know what a good football team looks like. This is a good freaking football team and they got a guy who knows what he's doing. And I can't wait till we've discussed the Charlotte game coming up this weekend.

You don't do it first or last. Let's do it last. We always save value. For us, Yeah, let's, let's save it for last. All right, Let's. Let's get into it. Do you need to do the the? I did it. The promos, I did. Home field. I did. I did a quick shout. We're trying to keep Crimson Cash quicker, so excellent. Yeah, just home field apparel, Upland Brewery, game day logger. There you go. Drink responsibly. Go IU Home 23. There you go. Look sharp, get buzzed.

Yeah, Galen is, is completely unhappy with this right now. He's, he's not happy listening to this, but this is what he gets when I'm on my own, all right. He doesn't listen. No, I know this is really this is the core gambling Crimson cast fan base. You're probably right. So, yeah, we can kind of do whatever we want. Hey, I said the names, I said the promo codes. We know we're fans of them. We we give them a lot of love on this podcast.

Hope Field apparel, Upland Brewery and game day logging, game day logger. There you go. Game day logging is a whole different. That's that's when we play Oregon. All right, let's start with Illinois. Who who got the the ranking? Maybe we should have gotten the rank 24th in the country going to Nebraska and Nebraska is a 7

1/2 point favorite. That This is why you know rankings don't really matter because Nebraska is ranked 22nd, Illinois is ranked 24th, but yet Nebraska is a 7 1/2 point favorite, which tells me that betting obviously Vegas thinks Nebraska is way better than Illinois, so rankings don't always mean that much anyway. 7 1/2 Nebraska hosting Illinois. I think Nebraska is better than Illinois as well. But what I do think is this will probably end up being a slugfest. I don't see a lot of points

scored in this. The over under sitting at 42 1/2, I got a feeling this is like one of those like 20 to 10 kind of like deals. I don't see a ton of points. I kind of like the under here. If you're looking at the spread, I do think because we're looking at a low scoring game, Illinois probably will cover that over a touchdown. But I think the under is probably the play on this game. All right, we have Next up one one more week of these kind of

crazy non Big 10 games. We have Villanova going into Maryland. Maryland is a 17 1/2 point favorite. Yes, this is an FCS school visiting a Big 10 school and it's a 17 1/2 point spread. So something's going on here because Maryland only beat or they just beat Virginia by 14, lost to Michigan. State. What's that? Lost to Michigan State the week before. They lost to Michigan State the week before. We're going to over under 43 1/2 here.

So Vegas doesn't think it's going to be completely a high scoring affair. In that instance. I'm going to take the points and I'll take Villanova +2 touchdowns and a field goal, Yeah. A lot of future Nick's going to be on that team also. That's the way, yeah. The entire starting line up of the 2027 New York Knicks. Knicks will be playing at Maryland football. All right, Next up we have we are Marshall. They are going to Ohio State and they are a 40 point underdog and.

They are not going to cover that spread because Ohio State is going to roll in this one. This may be one of those 56 to nothing, 56 to 7 things. I think Ohio State's got the offense clicking. They know what they're doing over there and this is going to be a blowout start to finish. Next up we have Rutgers going to Virginia Tech Virginia Tech's Tight 1 is a 3 1/2 point favorite. Right. We're going with the dog on the money line here. We're going to take Rutgers to

win outright. Such a big Ted honk. You are just just such a big 10 guy. I really am. I really am. But come on. The ACC? Virginia Tech is a middling ACC team. Rutgers is a below middling Big 10 team. I'll take the Big 10 team on the road. Why not? It's a it's an afternoon game. It's not going to be one of those, you know, crazy night affairs in Blacksburg. Get nuts. Take the Scarlet Knights. Get nuts. All right, Next up we have Kent State.

I like the we are game we were playing, but Kent State this is this is a wild one, man. They are going to Penn State. Penn State is a 49 point favorite. The over under is 55 1/2. So Vegas is saying Penn State is going to crush Kent State, and Kent State won't even get a field goal or, sorry, a touchdown. Touchdown. Yeah, I don't know. That's so many points. I mean, Kent State is awful. They lost to Saint Francis College this year, so that's not

good. 49 points. There's no way a Tom Allen team is shutting somebody out. So I'm going to take Kent State plus the points there. I don't feel great about it, but that's just 7 touchdowns. Is 2 big a spread? It's a lot all right. Next up are UCLA Bruins who just got curb stomped by the Indiana Hoosiers. They're the rest of their schedule gets tough now they they they've lost that moment in the sun where they might have had a win. They're going to LSU playing

it's Death Valley, right. What do they call their stadium? It's like not Death Valley, Clemson's Death Valley, but they also call there's like this not the swamp. It's. What, what? What do they call that thing? And I think they're so drunk by the time they get in the scene, they know what the fludges are calling it. I I. Feel like they also call it Death Valley. I think they call it Death Valley, but I think.

Of Death Valley like. Clemson, like Clemson's Death Valley and then like Death Valley, CA is also Death Valley, so. You feel like LSU is the least Death Valley of the you look it up while I finished giving spreads. If you can, I'll look it up while you're talking. We'll do it that way. So UCLA is going to LSU in some stadium name something, but LSU is a 2223 1/2 point favorite. Yeah, this is an easy one right here. Take the Bayou Bengals and lay

those points. I think they're going to do to UCLA exactly what are you did. And Brian Kelly, he, he's probably put his hand on enough tables recently that his team will maybe respond. Even if the defense completely implodes like they have been for LSU, there's no way UCLA is going to stop. LSUI heard reports out of LA this week that their practices had to be huddled up twice in the same day because of low energy, and they're potentially going to miss their two best defensive players.

So I don't think this bode well. Bodes well for the Bruins. I think LSU wins in a rob at least 4 touchdowns. Yeah, it's a, it's a, it's Death Valley. I looked it up all right, Next up and I agree with everything you just said. And they had the 5 yard markers. That's the. They do, and I also think having watched a lot of poorly coached teams at IUUCLA had all the markers of a poorly coached team like just they they looked kind of a hot mess at times so that normally wasn't.

Well, the least Athletic League football team when I was a kid had better coaching than UCLA did last week. Here's a here's a line that I'm not sure I get. USC is going into Michigan. Michigan is a 5 1/2 point underdog. We saw when a good team goes into Michigan in Texas, they kick the snot out of Michigan. I think this to me, the question is like, do you think USC is a

good team or not? Because I'm not trying to answer for you, but it's like I look at this is like if you think USC is good, I easily think they're going to cover a 5 1/2 point spread even in the big house. But I'm curious your thoughts. I don't know Dick about USCI watch a little bit of them against LSU. But what I do know is I've watched 2 Michigan games already this year. They are not a championship football team.

I think IU is going to beat them this year and I I think they they won by 10 points against Arkansas State last week. Of course, we, we here at Crimson Cash saw that coming and we took Arkansas State plus the points we did. And so I think Southern Cal rolls in here. I, I, I think 5 1/2 is easy money on this line, especially if you're looking at a teaser. I mean, you're good just to win if you're going to toss it on a teaser parlay. So yeah, I love Southern Cal here.

I may even push that up to 9 and a half and maybe get some plus odds on a few bucks, Who knows. I like that. That's a, that's a good idea because I think they could win by 10 or so. You're you're right on that. All right, Northwestern is joining in the party. I'm going to West Coast teams. Too late, man. First one's already happened. Sorry, Northwestern. We already did it. We won. We took care of business. But they're going to Washington, a Washington that lost to Washington state.

So, not sure what to make of them, but Vegas makes Washington a 10 1/2 point favorite at home. Yeah, I'm curious to see how, how these teams going to the West Coast do against non UCLA competition. I I got UCLA right. They may be the worst team in the Big 10. So so I'm curious to see how that pans out. 10 1/2 points. See it's a 7:00 start and you think, oh, night game. Oh, that's always good for the home team. This is actually a 4:00 start local time.

So you know, it's it's an afternoon game. 10 1/2 points seems a bit rich for my blood, so give me the dog here. Who are the cats? The dog here, who are the cats? All right, Next up, the potent offense of the Iowa Hawkeyes is going in to row the boat with the Minnesota Golden Gophers. Minnesota is a 2 1/2 point underdog at home. I know we love the Iowa over unders. The over under for this game is 35 1/2. Yeah, the Iowa over under has not been good to us.

No, so you know, there's that to remember and this I would say may not be great. Troy gave them all they could handle last week. We also had Troy getting the points in that 135 1/2, though. I kind of like the over here. I don't know why, but something makes me think we've been losing a lot on Iowa over unders and this number is pretty damn low. I know. Over an Iowa game over. And a Minnesota over which I never do. Those are the two teams who usually go automatic unders.

So I'm going to mark this. We're going to. Discuss this next week. This is not going to end well. This just people stay away. Stay away I. Have no I have no plan to bet on this game, but I wouldn't be surprised if Minnesota wins. Outright, I would agree with that. All right, Next up you have and I love I love taking like the the dogs at home when you're only given a couple of points like it's oh. Yeah, it's in a rivalry game, too. They're playing for a trophy, right?

But even the. Point of Rosedale or something? Yeah, but the money line's still not great odds either. So anyway, Michigan State is going to Boston College, who looks like they could be good. Boston College is a 6 1/2 point favorite. Yeah, so we thought Michigan State was really shitty to start the year, and that may still be the case because they're not world beaters, right?

Boston colleges look decent and they gave Mizzou all they can handle for, you know, a little bit of the game before Mizzou pulled away last week. I'll take BC to cover. I don't love it. I'd stay away from it because Michigan State just seems to have some ability to get some, like, really big downfield shots. Yeah. And it's always tough when you're giving up almost a touchdown. This could be one of those field goal games, especially with a, you know, an over under 45 1/2 all.

Right Next up we have Purdue who Speaking of curb stomping, got curb stomp, which is awesome. Purdue going to Oregon State again another game, I think we joked about the last time where Oregon State is just like, hey, if they played a Big 10 team last week or they played Oregon last week. So I think they're just like, hey, we're we're part of the Big 10. Like if we just keep playing Big 10 teams in off weeks, can we just be part of the Big 10?

That would be awesome and not this weird mismatch of teams that are suddenly going to become the PAC 12 anyway. Purdue is going into Oregon State and Oregon State is a four and a half point favorite at home. This game is on The CW is. It really is it after reruns of Dawson's Creek and. Yeah, it it's like between like Dawson's Creek reruns and like Maui show. Maybe Sabrina, I think. That was the WB or Paramount. Never mind. So anywho, I this is one of my

favorite bets of the week. I love Oregon State to cover here. Speaking of poorly coached football teams, Purdue may have been second on the list to UCLA of poorly coached Big 10 football teams last week. They had no idea what they were doing and they couldn't stop Notre Dame at all. Oregon State at least moved the ball on Oregon. Plus, it's a home game for him. Yeah, I love the Beavers. Love, love the Beaver. I'll let that one marinate out there. All right. Finally, we have the one we

gave. We've been talking about Charlotte, the 49ers against our coach Signeti, Coach Indiana, Hoosiers, Indiana. I think this is I, I would fair to say probably the last of our large lines. I'm not sure we'll get another 28 point line this year, although I hesitate and I don't think there's anybody that bad left on our schedule. So I don't think we'll be a 28 point dog against Ohio State. So maybe the last time we're in the high 20s, Indiana is a 28 1/2 point favorite at home.

This is a huge line. I know Charlotte sucks. All right, so let's, this is a pretty bad football team, all right. They had to rally from 21 points down in the fourth quarter last week against Gardner Webb and they were able to secure A1 point victory. They got beat by 23 by James Madison earlier this year. We have James Madison, but better. So I'm going to take the Hoosiers to cover this. If you look at 34 1/2 points, you're getting plus 153 on the

spread. So if you want to take a few extra points, yeah, I think you could probably be safe in doing that. Signetti seems to be quite into making sure every play is absolutely executed to perfection, which leads to blowouts and big scores. So. So that's my reasoning behind it. I love the Hoosiers. I think they're going to win big. I think it's actually going to be a really boring game to

watch. I won't be able to watch most of it because I'm taking my son on a college visit this Saturday. So I will be, you know, watching on my phone and, you know, listening in, but I won't be able to pay full attention. But I think this will be a walk in the park so. I agree. I mean, normally in these games in previous years where we have trouble getting a spread like this is it's not always on offense like we we'll, we'll normally put up 3040 points against bad teams.

It's just we let them put up 20 or 30 points and then it becomes a bit more of a shootout than we want. This defense looks different also like this defense just looks like they want to put the clamps on every play. And Signetti, Signetti has infused this with the entire team where no one's taking plays off. Everyone's playing hard all the time there doesn't, you know, mental mistakes seem to be addressed quickly. So like you, I can't believe I'm saying this.

I also agree. I like Indiana to cover a 28 1/2 point spread and I think it could be one where I I'd be curious to look at what the first half line is, if they put that out, what the spread of the first half is because you might be able to get a first half like 21 and a 21. Actually, 16 1/2 on FanDuel and 17 1/2 on DraftKings right now, I would hit that. Harder than the 28 1/2. Oh, hammer it. Yeah, absolutely. Get your S wing your you know your contractor grade hammer and

go after it baby. Yeah, I think that that is honestly the play. And then throw Indiana money line on a bunch of other stuff that you want, like with the UCLA money line, it feels like some good. Money line, I mean, that money line is not going to pay out. It's, you know -6500 so you're not going to get much adding that on a, you know, money line. What are our what when do you start thinking of betting Indiana for College Football Playoff being in that. Like, to make it.

They weren't listed as an option the last I checked, and that bet wasn't available. It was to win the College Football Playoff. However, if you remember from our season preview episode, we do have a couple bets on IU to a make the Big 10 championship game and B to win it. These are, you know, $1000 winners on $5 bets. So that would be absolutely nuts. Yeah, I would. I would put 5 bucks on IU to make the CFP if, like the odds were good enough. Yeah. I mean, you probably looking at

+1000 odds at this point. But as the season goes on, I mean, you know, we had over under 5 1/2 at plus odds as a futures bet on FanDuel, and we're already halfway home on that. You know. Part. So that's unbelievable. Part of this I agree. Part of this is, you know, again, based on the soft schedule, which I'm not going to apologize to anybody for, But when you ESPN has a, you know, playoff predictor and Indiana is ranked on there as like has a 24 percent chance of making the playoff.

But they then you can dig in and like see what it would look like. And then they pull up the three hardest games on the schedule. So for Indiana, it's Nebraska, Michigan and Ohio State. And it shows you what is the prediction for each game. Indiana's predicted to win two of the three. They're predicted to win Michigan, they're predicted to win Northwest. I'm sorry, Nebraska right now, they're predicted to lose Ohio State. So and then everything that those are the three hardest games.

Everything else is a less hard game. So theoretically, the only game Indiana's predicted to lose on ESPN site is the Ohio State game, which is like, that's why everyone's kind of, you know, outside of the Indiana sphere kind of scoffing at like all three and O against garbage teams and like, you're 24% to make the playoffs. Like, well, because there's, there's a real possibility, like we can keep on winning. Oh, absolutely. You know, and, and The thing is, I don't think this is smoke and

mirrors. This isn't just a a horrible schedule. It's it could be two. Things it can be good and a a soft schedule. Yeah, you know, and I, I absolutely, I absolutely believe we could be in Michigan. And, you know, the problem's going to be it's a lot different to, you know, getting used to winning is a is, is that culture shift that signetics looking for, you know, that's what he wants us to get rid of complacency, you know, and and, you know, that's a tough thing.

So maybe, you know, if we struggled against Charlotte this weekend, that probably wouldn't be the worst thing on earth. You know, I could live with that because it'd give him plenty of ammunition to use when it really matters. But I just, I don't see that happening. They they they look like a well oiled machine last week. I agree and I I think if we saw we could see maybe a struggle against Maryland or Northwestern. Still winning the Maple Missile for a second.

You what? The Maple Missile? Our quarterback, Curtis Rourke. Yeah, go ahead. He's Canadian. His nickname is Maple Missile. Everybody know this, all right? My dad was like, I can't remember the last time we had a quarterback this good. I think he looked like Nate Sutfeld. That's who he I was watching him. I was like, this is Nate Sunfall out there. He's just, he sees everything that's going on and he's just carving him up at his will. And it was Nate Sunfall.

I think it's still in the league. Still in the NFL. You know that it's who he reminds me of. I mean, he just makes excellent decisions and he's got a good arm and he's got some legs too. Who knew? Well, he's he's he's cagey in the pocket, like he can get out of sacks. Not even just running, but just kind of ducking under and stuff. He's Yeah, I agree. Yeah, yeah. So, yeah, I think we are in, we are in great shape. If you, if you have a good senior quarterback, so many

things just fall into place. It's amazing. Yeah. Well, James, thank you again. Oh, what's your parlay of the week? What? What are you combining? What's your big bet? Of the week I'm making people go to X to find that out because I'm trying to gain followers so I can start making some money on this nonsense. So subscribe, follow. You know I don't have a subscription, it's free. Just follow me and then yeah, so

follow me on there. I do have one parlay already posted there with A10 legger on every single Big 10 game this week. So we've combined every one of my bets for each of the games and we've adjusted some of the lines and and so we've got that out there already. Look for the teasers. Obviously you know where I stand on the IU game, so have fun out there people and follow me on X. Love it all right? Crimson cast 26O. There you go. Make sure you say it.

Yeah, you got you got to just say just don't follow me on X. You got to give him an actual handle. So there you go. Follow James. Everybody, thank you for listening. So for James Scott signing off for Crimson Cash, talk to you all next week.
