You're listening. To the back. Home network presented. By Home Field Apparel. All right, cash sound is out there. It is time for Crimson cash got here with you excited to get going. We got James on the line before we get to that before we get to James, just a shout out to two of our friends in the back home network in here on Crimson cast. Of course, you know home field apparel coaches jackets are out. They are slick. It's funny.
I I originally looked at the the list and I was like they don't have as many and like I couldn't see IU. It's kind of a bummer. Didn't realize, you know, just it's on me on on me for my web browser, a little arrow at the bottom page one of five S go to page 2 and there is the Indiana coach's jacket. It looks awesome. I didn't pre I because of that because of my dumb arrow ability. I didn't pre-order. So they are out of my size already.
I either need to lose some weight, which I've been needing to do for like 25 years or wait for the reorder. So probably going to wait for the reorder, but go check them out. There are tons of great coaches jackets out there, tons of great shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies, everything you want out there. If it's your first time, use the promo code home 23. Get 15% off your first purchase.
Another friend of ours is Upland Brewery, A friend of ours, a friend of mine, a friend of James in front of everybody's viewer at the game last week at the tailgate. You probably saw the Hoosier game day Logger. It's got the cream and Crimson candy stripe beer bottle. The thing is fantastic. It's for sale at Assembly Hall and Memorial Stadium and anywhere you your local Upland Brewery company is, they have some up here in Westfield.
They obviously have them in Bloomington and and tons of beer and liquor stores around the state of Indiana. Check out the Hoosier game day lager. Enjoy it with your friends. Upland Brewing Company reminds you to drink responsibly and go Hoosiers. James my man, you were there for game one of the Signetti era. What you think? I was It was a long day. Tailgate opened up real early, my son and I got there about 9:30 in the morning and Galen had a great spread.
Tons of people came by, the mood was great, everybody was excited and then turned out we end up getting sunburnt and I don't even think about it cuz it's supposed to be like overcast and like 70. One, those are the worst days. Those are the hazy, the hazy worst days. It. Was supposed to be perfect and then it ended up being like 85 and like the sun was beating down on us so my son and I actually left at halftime so. Oh my God, You're one of the problems.
You're one of the issues. Well, he was overheating and looked really red. So I said OK, well we can split and we went to Hartzell's. So it was a, you know, we're not, we didn't lose too bad on that deal and we were able to watch the rest of the game on TV. So. So no, it was a really good time. I hope Coach Signeti doesn't get mad at myself and my son for that. But it was a a situation where we've just been out in the sun
for too long. So, you know, and that's part of it, you know, and look, this wasn't the bucket game. This wasn't, you know, we're close to Michigan in the second-half of a, you know, game like this was, you know, a game we should have handily won. And we did. So I get it, you can justify it any way you want. You're part of the problem, understand? Yep, absolutely. What do you think of the the Signeti student shirts? Well, as a as a as a for as a smoker or a fan of smoking. Yes.
Oh I love it. They're fantastic T-shirts. The the biggest size I could find was large, so unfortunately that's probably not going to work for me once I wander it for the first time. Right, so so I'm. Only going to get one shot at wearing this thing, but my son's got his. We picked up one for Galen. So yeah, that was great. I love those. Shirts. Those things are awesome. I still am not quite sure. We talked about a little bit in
the last pod. I'm not sure how you get away with that without getting sued by Marlboro, but who cares? It's great. Look, Philip Morris can use all the free advertising for their cigarette products. I mean, you know, cigarette advertising is restricted anyways, right? So if people can associate, you know, as long as IU football is not horrible, you know what I'm saying? It's it's you know, it could be free advertising if you're. Going to wear it, you got to go
out there and and win. I mean, Duke, Duke's has to pay for Mayo, you know, type T-shirts, you know, like, you know, Pop Tarts is paying for, you know, bowl sponsorships. Philip Morris is getting this for free. Yeah, it's kind of like what would happen with the IS Are the Mets paying for their grimace nonsense? Like they're getting free advertising there too. And it's for young kids, too, which is exactly who they want to market. For right, so true.
Maybe not good for the health, but that's what they want. All right, let's go through the lines. We're going to try and be a little bit quicker because we have a lot of games to go through. We have Western Illinois and Indiana. The Friday night game I'm I'm showing Action Network has no line on this one. Indiana covered the first week line, which is great. So do you have a line out there on it or is it off the board? There are no lines anywhere for
this game as of yet. Generally when it's a team of Western Illinois caliber, I believe they're FCS, right? Or whatever it is, yeah. The old Division two, but then they they have lines like teams, plays these kind of teams all the time. So I feel like the lines are like 40 or 50 points. Yeah, but generally they don't come out till the day of the game so so we probably won't get one until tomorrow. I'm guessing the Hoosiers are favored by 35 1/2. Would you bet?
How many? At what point would you stop betting Hoosiers in the points? I don't think I'm going to bet this game just because I still don't know what to do. They screwed me over last week with that touchdown run at the end of the game, and that killed that killed me. So. So I'm going to stay away and just enjoy watching the game. That's where I'm at with the Hoosier this week. Yeah, I. Probably. I may I may look at some prop bets if there are some prop bets available.
Yeah, I would say anything over props. Yeah, I would say anything over 30. I'm not comfortable betting IU to cover a 30 point spread. I. I say if it's over 28 1/2, I'd probably stay away from it. Yeah. All right. Next up we have Duke going to Northwestern. Northwestern, which got tons of love for their their field out there. We haven't seen the Connor Onion punt go into the water yet. Duke is a 2 1/2 point underdog at the the new Northwestern field. Whatever we're calling it.
Watching that game with, like, the sailboats in the background reminding me, like, playing an old Nintendo game when, like, they don't really know what a football stadium would look like, but they got an idea that it might look like this, you know? So that's kind of what it felt like watching it. I think. Duke goes in and pulls off the upset. I'm taking the Blue Devils on the money line here. OK, lot straight up. I like it. The money line pick of the week. Next up, wonder if we have
another money line pick here. We have tenant Texas going in to Ann Arbor, MI. I, for the life of me, I, I think these games that they're fun, I like them, but I mean, no one's in charge of college football. I'm surprised if we'll still see these games in three or four years like this because you're Michigan, you have a brutal Big 10 schedule ahead of you. I think they're playing USC in a couple weeks. Like, what do you need Texas for on your schedule? Like you, you win them all.
You win all but one. You're still making the College Football Playoff. I think these games are going to be going away soon. All that said, we have it this weekend. Texas goes in as a 7 1/2 point favorite going into the Big House. Yeah, I don't like that hook there. I'd like to get it a little lower, but I think Texas wins this and I probably think they win by double digits. I think I think they're a much better team from what I saw last weekend, and I think they win by 10.
But yeah, that's what I like. I like Texas. Next up we have Akron going to Rutgers. Rutgers completely. They had a huge line last week and covered which was surprising. They have to do it again. They are 22 1/2 point favorites this week at home. I mean, who would have who would have thugged Rutgers back-to-back doing 20 plus point lines? Yeah, I know. And them covering last week against the dreadful Howard team. The over under on this game is at 39 1/2. I don't really like that.
I don't really like this line at all. I'm going to stay away from it. A gun to my head. I'm taking Akron and over three touchdowns though against Rutgers, it just, I don't know, Rutgers, I find it. I still find it hard to have Rutgers giving that many points to a Mac school. I know. Even a shitty Mac school like. Akron we have. Next up we have University of Rhode Island and Minnesota.
I guess Rhode Island is Division Two or FVS and football, because there's also no line on this one as well, correct? So let's just move on because it's not even worth talking about. Speaking of big lines, we have Bowling Green going into Penn State. Penn State is a 35 point favorite, No hook, 35 straight up 35 point favorite, Happy Valley Scott. Do you know who the quarterback is for Bowling Green? Brent Sorsby. I don't know. Connor Basilak. Very close.
Good guess. Give me Bowling Green here, plus 5 touchdowns, which is a ridiculous number. You like you like them to cover or you like Bowling Green to to cover that. Yeah, I just too many points, way too many points to lay. Next up we have the Battle of Iowa. This is sure it's like the the Hawkeye trophy. You have Iowa State going into Iowa. I love doing the over unders for them. Iowa is a 3 1/2 point favorite over unders. 35 1/2 for the Iowa Hawkeyes.
All right, so last week we had Iowa on the under 41 and by kickoff it was 37. So it's 35 right now. Who knows what this will be by kickoff or 35 1/2. Now I'm going to take the under here just because it's Iowa. Always a good call. Always a good call. Eastern Michigan is going to Washington. Washington 24 1/2 point favorite. Yeah, I have no idea what to do here first, so I'm going to, I'm just going to, I'm just going to say I don't know.
Yeah, gun in my head, I have picked here Eastern Michigan plus the points, but I don't know why I picked that. I just seems like a lot of these big lines and I don't know. Teams may be looking forward to next week. I don't know who they got, you know, like they got a bigger game next week maybe. I don't know. I know nothing about Washington. OK, so no betting advice for you. I think that's that's the key here is like, don't, don't bet this game. Don't bet on my advice, that's for sure.
That's probably true for all of us. All right, we have a Big 10 game, like a Big Ten alert, Big 10 teams, Michigan State, who really struggled to beat their Florida, I think Florida Atlantic this week, last week, playing at Maryland. Maryland is a 9 1/2 point favorite. This is one of my favorites of the week in the Big 10. I love the Terps to cover here. I think Michigan State is as bad as we thought they'd be, and they're lucky they didn't lose that game last week.
And Maryland rolled in their game handily covered. And so, yeah, give me the Terps here. I really like them. All right, it took me two clicks to figure out what this team was because it's just SDSDAK, so Stack. But the South Dakota Coyotes, I mean, again, no, no line here against Wisconsin. We're just going to move on unless you have something you want to say. Nope, I got nothing. Yeah, a lot of nothing games coming up. I think first couple weeks are always kind of like this.
It's like do you want to take a big point line or not? Kansas coming in ranked ranked 19th as playing at Illinois. Illinois only a 5 1/2 point favorite at home or sorry, sorry, 5 1/2 point underdog. Sorry, underdog at home, Yeah. Yeah, I like The Jayhawks to cover here. I think there's going to be a lot of points scored in this game, but I don't think Illinois will be able to keep up with them. I'm.
Going to need your help on this next one because this is going to be one of our side bets of the week. Every week we have Western Michigan, which I'm now keeping track of the Walt Bell offense betting lines Western Michigan going into Ohio State. Ohio State's a 37 1/2 point favorite. What is the Is there a prop line on Western Michigan points total for this game? You know, Scott, a proper podcast host would have done their research, no? I'm I'm teeing it up to you.
And it had that number ready for you. However, I do have some thoughts on this. Game. I love Ohio State to cover that for the very reason you mentioned because of Walt Bell. And then if we look at the team total for Western Michigan, they have it listed on DK right now at over under Guess. Guess what it is? Over under, I would say, I mean, it's either going to be 7 1/2 or 10 1/2. Hold on, hold on. Don't say anything yet because the over under for the game is 54.
I'm just, I'm doing my doing my work here. They're they're saying Ohio State's a 37 point favorite. I'm going to say it's a I'm going to give him 10 1/2 as the over under. 7 1/2. 7 1/2 All right, so I I knew I was one of them. God, I mean, that's the I don't know if I can go under. That's like because you you could have a just a stupid touchdown. Well, yeah, and then you get your 7. I don't know what else they're. Going to be able to get. You could have like a dumb fumble.
You're you're you're really. You are playing with. Fire. You're playing with fire. Because yes, I'm not sure the Walt Bell offense is going to be great, but it's like you could have a a stupid pick six and then a field goal. And it's like his offense really gave you like, I almost want like Walt Bell like contingent points for that bet, like all defensive points or stupid points don't count. But yeah, I wouldn't bet the under on that, would you? We'll.
See, if I do, I'll post it. Please do. Please do all right, the two of the maybe most hyped teams unwarranted. Every year we got coach prize and we got Coach prime coming in Colorado playing at Nebraska. Your favorite with the balloons? I know you love it. Nebraska is a 7 1/2 point favorite. Yeah, I like the Huskers to cover here, actually. OK, I, I, I'm, I'm due to, I'm not sure, Colorado.
'S good. Well, and I think Matt rolls a really good coach and it's only a matter of time before I think he can get things rolling there On the other side, I don't think you have a very good football coach. So that's I'm going to put this one up to coaching. And Nebraska's stacked with talent compared to Colorado and Colorado couldn't stop anybody. So yeah, give me the Huskers to cover. Well, there you go. James is not a fan of Coach Prime.
Let's get it out there. And maybe he Coach Prime's already like taking people off his media list. Maybe he can call out James on Crimson Cash. That would be awesome. Still refuse to do Crimson Cash interviews. Yeah, like it. It'd be great in one of his pressors. Like, man, I'm just like, screw that, James at Crimson Cash. Like our, our numbers go through the roof. That'd be awesome. Bring it, Coach Prime.
I mean, obviously that the the the million to one odds on that, but I would say if that happens, it's like coach, you're spending way too much time on social media. If you've come down to our podcast. All right, Next up we got Boise State going to Oregon. Oregon looks scary. They are a 21 point favorite against Boise. Yeah, I got an over under 61 1/2. Here you can get it at 60 1/2 I'm showing at if you go to BET MGM, but go ahead. Excellent. I have BET MGM account so I will
take the over there. I like points. Boise practically scored that many points last week on their own. I think they'll be able to put up some points. I think Oregon's going to shake off a little rust from last week where they were a little sluggish on offense. I think they'll get right and I expect a lot of points here. Speaking of points, you, you kind of screwed us last week with LSU and USC. Or I guess they screwed us by not putting up enough points.
No kid, I know that's still a fun game. Side note to that game, I watched that game, that was great. I enjoyed Les Miles. Oh, no, no, sorry. Brian Kelly, that old coach, Brian Kelly, the LSU coach, like just standing there with that total like, I just kind of shit my pants face look and just looking out like as USC scoring and LSU is not doing much. He just kind of looks befuddled. And then in the press conference he's like, you know, banging the table and and yelling and stuff.
It's like, hey coach, how about some of that anger, like during the game next time, like maybe throw a little bit of emotion like he just looked completely zonked out during the game and then in the post game just gets all pissed. Like maybe some of that I don't think it would have mattered, but just maybe some of that during the game. Just FYI. Well, that post. Game thing seemed a little contrived.
I mean, he had the bottle perfectly positioned so that when he slammed the table the bottle would go. I mean, it was like, I, I think that thing was staged. That was fo outraged there because I mean, I mean, I giggled when I saw it. I was like, if this guy came in, yelled at me and I'm like, you know, one of the LSU players, I'm like, who the fuck are you? Yeah, who's this guy? So we'll go to the last game of the Big 10 slate. We have Utah State going to USC, moving up to 13th in the
rankings. USC is a 28 1/2 point favorite at home. Yeah, this is another one. Not sure what to do here. I like the points so I like the over here. You're going over again on USC, you're going to go there. Yeah, I'm going to try it again because I think Utah State will do their part. OK, 63 1/2 is what you need to get for the over there. Yeah, I don't love it. I'd rather have 62 and a. Half that's that's the way. That's the way Vegas always does it, my friend. Oh yeah.
Any any final parlays or combos you want to put together for the weekend? Yeah, I got a few things here. So if you want to do a money line parlay, I got one for you. Well, if you take Texas, Maryland and Nebraska, all just a win straight up. That's plus 137, so that's the bet I like the bet I'm going to take. I also plan on doing a little tease here where I'm going to tease down Ohio State to 32, which I think they'll easily cover. And I want to tease down
Nebraska as well. And I want to tease down Maryland. So I, I, I can't stress enough how much I really like Maryland over Michigan State big here. That's when I plan on putting in a few things, especially Maryland on the money line, Them being at home, the wall bell factor in that Ohio State game, of course. And then Nebraska, you know, they tease that down to 1 1/2 and you're practically the money line. So those three on a tease will get you 160. So I like that. I like that a lot.
All right. Do you have any for for me, I will say the one the one big NFL futures that I like. I think it's like 9 1/2 wins the Jaguars season total over. I I like them to to beat their over. So I'm just throwing that out there as we talk betting. Stuff you do. I do. I think the Jags are going to be good and. And what are you basing that on? I I think Trevor Lawrence had a bad year last year. I like this receiver.
They got Brian Wilson, Brian Thomas junior Brian Wilson, he's he's like 66, ran the second fastest 40 in the combine. I got him on fantasy too. I look at that division, it's like I think they're, you know, they were the Texans. I have both them and the Texans to to win their over games. I also think one of the two of them are going to be they're going to win the AFC South. And so I've actually, I also can do, you can do an exact order bet, which I like.
So you do the Texans, Jags, Colts and Titans. I think the Colts will finish third. I think the Titans will finish 4th. And then I just bet two different ways. So you bet one with the Texans winning and one with the Jags winning with the Colts and the Titans at 3:00 and 4:00. And what's that payout? I, I've not looked at it. I, I forget, I forget what it pays out pretty good. I mean, it's like, it's like you're getting like 70 or 80 bucks on a $10 bet. Well, I have a few prop bets as
well for NFLI. Have the Colts drafted Laatu Laatu in the first round? 12 plus sacks on the season at plus 650. Oh, you like that? I do. I took a boost on it and I'm getting it at plus 865. So I mean, he's his over under is at 8 1/2 on even money. So to think he might sneak in a few more isn't out of the realm of possibility. And then I have Jonathan Taylor to have 1500 plus rushing yards plus 1200. I think he's going to have a big year this year. I think he stays healthy.
I also have Indiana to make the Big 10 championship game at plus 11,250 odds. I love it, I love it. That's that could all be taken away when in a week. And then I parlayed the Colts over 8 1/2 regular season wins with Penn State under 10 1/2 regular season wins. OK, And that's it, plus 213. So those are the ones I like. Those I, I think the Jonathan Taylor won it plus 1200 odds.
I think that's pretty good odds. I agree, he's done it before so if he can stay healthy I think he'll definitely do it again. I think their RPO is going to be tough to stop this year. I agree. I also, I threw it, I think it's like 5 to one or six to one. But I this, this is, I'm stealing this completely from, from Bill Simmons and the Cousin Sal podcast. But they say it every year. It's like, look at Patrick Mahomes MVP bet as a mutual fund, like it'll pay out once every four years.
Just keep betting it until he's no longer good. And so I do look at it as like, if you, if it's 5:00 to 1:00, if he wins MVP in one time, sometime in the next three years, not five years, you're going to make, you're going to make some money. So I I'm betting Pat Mahomes to win MVP basically every year from now on until I don't think he's going to win anymore. It sounds like Trevor Lawrence is going to win it, according to you. Well, they're. Going to win the division, not
the MVP. I also bet CJ Stroud's like 15 to one or like 12 to one or something, so I bet him too. Oh. OK, well, that's not a bad, not a bad bet. Yeah, I've never won though. I always suck at those like really bad yeah and then and then those are the ones were bat and like it looks so obvious afterwards too, which is so annoying so.
Well, MVP is tough to vote for because it's not a stat, you know, I mean, people choose it. So it's really a popularity contest and different people have different criteria. So it's really difficult to bet things like that that are so subjective. Agreed. All right, Well James, I look forward to this weekend and then next week is going to be a little interesting because on Thursday I'm flying out to LA for the UCLA game. So I will be out there. So we will either try and do it,
I'll talk to you offline. We either do it before Thursday or maybe we'll try and do it live somewhere in LA. Maybe we do a walk and talk or maybe I see you have you send me your pics and we do this one. So we'll see how Crimson Cash goes next week, but no question, we'll be back in two weeks for sure doing it again. But we will see in in a week how we do as I'm I'll be in LA. As long as you and Galen don't bring your curse with you, I'm fine. Yeah, we haven't had, well, we, I mean.
What, you guys are like Ted Cruz attending a game? What are we? What are what? Where's our curse? We went to the we went to the Outback Bowl. That didn't go well or sorry. I went to the Gator Bowl. I did not go to Outback. He went to Outback without me. Iowa. We both went to Iowa. A lot of people went. To Iowa, the basketball game in Las Vegas. That didn't go. We both went to New York and we won a game there. OK, the basketball game in Lawrence, KS. I didn't go to that one.
Are you sure? I'm I'm sure, yes, I'm sure. Yes, I am sure. No, you're right. We, we have a good number of games that we've lost. I would also venture that a lot of the marquee games we've had over the last seven years we haven't won anyway. Even the ones we haven't gone to, we've not had a lot of winning marquee games on the road in either sport. That's also very true. I'm not going to the the basketball Atlantis thing. So maybe that'll maybe that'll help. This is this is going to be a
great one. I'm, I'm, I continue to say, I think it's going to be a lot of IU fans that LA game. I don't know, I'm curious to see. I I think so. I think IUS got a good alumni base there. I think people are fired up. But is the alumni base there, like the alumni base everywhere, where it's still football, you know? I don't know IA couple of the friends I know who are out there who went to IU, they're they're excited. We'll we'll see. We will see.
I'm I'm expecting like 30% IU fans in the stadium. So I could be I could be wrong. Wow. I'll take the under. All right, let's bet that and then I'll take pictures and you can, we can break it down like pull down the picture and actually draw like little sections and try and you know, maybe 25%. That's a good job for AI, yeah. Oh, let's get, yeah, let's get AI on it. All right, man. James, thanks for joining us. Everyone out there.
Thank you for listening. And we will be back next week or the week after at some point. So for James, this is Scott for Crimson Cash signing off. Post time.
