After the McStay family vanished seemingly into thin air a few theories emerged about their disappearance. The police strongly felt the family had crossed the border into Mexico but the discovery of too shallow graves in the Mojave Desert immediately and permanently change the investigation. One individual quickly caught the attention of investigators and the public. In part because he admitted to being the last person to see Joseph McStay.
