whatever. Just do it please. I'm gonna tell your story today about Chandler Halderson. I don't know him. He was a twenty three year old Wisconsin man who reported his parents, Bart and Krista Halderson missing after they disappeared after heading up to their family cabin for a Fourth of July weekend. The same month. Remains were found in Dane County, Wisconsin, and they were Bart and Christa's. So how far is that from their cabin? Your I have
no idea. Why are you asking me? Couple hours? Probably? Bart and Christa were Wisconsin natives and they both earned bachelor's degrees from the University of Wisconsin in Madison. The two married in July of nineteen ninety four, and they had two sons, Mitchell and Chandler. Bart worked as a CPA and Krista worked as an administrative assistant for an automotive company. Okay, so they're well employed. Yeah. They lived in Windsor, Wisconsin, and they were
a relatively normal family by all accounts. They lived a great life and they had a beautiful home. Everyone that knew them really enjoyed their company. They had lots of friends. So and then something happened happened. Barton Krista devoted their lives to raising their two boys, and they also supported local organizations and charities. The family would spend their time attending local football games and at their
property in Lane Laide County. Chandler, who was twenty three at the time that our story takes place, he was in college to get his degree in it while he lived at home with his parents. His younger or his older brother, Mitchell, was just a year older. At twenty four. He worked in tact and he was engaged to be married. Chandler was a student at the Madison Area Technical College and he received his associates degree in Computer Information
Technology, Administration and Management. I have something like that yeah, you do puter information systems. Right. While he was going to college, he worked as a lifeguard and a teaching assistant. According to his LinkedIn profile, the majority of his experience, like work experience, was either lifeguarding or in technology.
But he didn't stop there. He said he had a quote strong understanding of solar panels and the installation process that goes with them, and that he had experienced in teaching in leadership for when he was a teaching assistant leadership leadership. Chandler was unemployed at the time of our story because he's in school right, right, And like I said, he was living at home, so mom and dad are paying the bills, mooching off the parents, right.
Rather than going into work every day to make his own money, he stayed home all day to play video games. Well why not? Why not? I suppose when he wasn't in school, If my parents were gonna pay for wording, just play video games too. Play video games from son up to sundown. He was on those games. Yeah, probably had a headset talking to people. Yeah internationally, right, I know, right, some avatar. Even though he was playing these video games all day, his parents thought
he had a job. They thought he was working, so it was he graduated then, I believe, so maybe he was graduated with his associate. Sorry, So his parents were like, since you're making money, why aren't you pitching in to help with the bills? And even his brother Bart had asked him, why aren't you paying rent? Why aren't you contributing since you're working, And he just had this like web of elaborate lies. First, he said that the insurance company, which was called American Family Insurance, he
said he worked for them. He said they were withholding his track because they screwed up his payroll. Okay, the payroll department apparently had mistakenly had him in their system as an hourly worker instead of salary. But when that lie ran its course, Chandler then told his parents he gave the company, the peril department incorrect direct deposit information. So oops, again I don't have my
paycheck. Oh shit, right, And then when that lie ran its course, Chandler said that since the company had owed him so much money, that when the check was issued to his checking account, the bank flagged it because they thought it was fraudulent. Oh yeah, Chandler was so wrapped up in his own lies that he even went as far as to stage fake emails between himself and the fake HR representative. He only see, Mom, I'm working on him. Oh my god, just get a goddamn job. It's not
that hard man, you know. The HI rep just so happened to have a generic email address which Bart made him forward to him, and these lines worked for a little while until they didn't. Dude, come on. Chandler lied to everyone around him. Family and friends thought he was a very impressive guy who studied technology at college and was working with the Madison Police Department as a scuba diver for the rescue. Oh wow. Then he apparently had just
gotten a job at elon Musk's space. Ax. Really yeah, Okay. He lied to his parents about attending college in Wisconsin. Chandler had told his parents that the college was withholding his transcripts. So did he graduate? I don't know. Yeah, Bart called the college pretending to be his son. This reminds me of the one case I did the Walking Dead. Oh yeah,
that he lied about everything, lied about everything. There was an event found on Bart's phone calendar that showed that he was planning to meet with school officials with his son. Chandler on July first, at three pm. Why do I feel like they didn't make that? I don't think they made that now. Bart texted Chandler at two ten, when the day came for them to meet with the school the x red quote I'm ready whenever you are end quote. The text was sent about an hour before the murders. M This
was the very last time that Bart would ever use his phone. M After Bart was murdered, Chandler texted his mom and told her that Bart's phone had died, and then they asked if she could bring him a soda since she was out. What she's like, Hey Mom, Hey mom, can you pick me up a diet coke? I guess I don't know. She replied with quote kay, I can end quote and with a smiley face emoji. So Raylan's video shows Christa coming home, but she was never seen alive again.
Motherfucker going back. Bart had found out about all of the lies that Chandler was spewing when he called the college and found out the administration had no record of Chandler being a student there, and why is it got an appointment because Chandler was so insistent that he do. So they were going to let go straighten this ship out. Remember that lie told you about the Madison Police.
He worked to a scuba Yeah, they didn't even have a scuba chee and Chandler did go to college, but he flunked out after only one semester. The job with the insurance company that he allegedly had also came to an end. Sense Then Chandler claimed he had gotten that job with SpaceX oh geez, and said, I'm moving to Titusville, Florida, where those I'm working for Eli I'm working for Elon Musk. He told his girlfriend that he was going to be an astronaut. Oh oh, after I've done scuba dining.
What he faked so much shit, Taliah. He faked like I'm getting an apartment. He faked that he had a serious concussion from falling down the stairs, where he claimed that he had brain bleed along with a serious hematoba and bad spinal damage. Because of that, he's that he wasn't able to drive or scuba diving. Yeah, I mean it was crazy. Well, how's it going to be a goddamn master not? He said he couldn't fly on
planes. He needed the calassmate back. I just want to I'm just giving you like a rundown of all these bullshit lies that He'm going to go to Mars. There's so Yeah, I'm gonna join SpaceX and I'm gonna be the first human on Mars. Okay, but I can't go on a plane. Yeah. There are pictures of Chandler wearing a neck brace, but there's also a video from when after the murders occurred showing him without the neck brace. Yeah cured. Yeah, so on July first, I told you that's the
day of the murder. Records from Chris's employer noted that she left work at around four fifty eight pm. Video from the neighbor's ring security system showed her Volvo pulling into the Halderson residence at about five to twelve, and that same footage shows the same vehicle calling out of the driveway at about eight sixteen pm.
A car matching the same description was seen at a Quick Trip convenience store at eight twenty two and a minute later, a man who was later identified as Chandler emerged from the vehicle with a diet coke and he went in to the convenience store. He bought two bags of ice, and he used Venmo to purchase that. I know you could use a Venomo. You can do that at a Comedians don't check that out. I know. The Vovo then left the parking lot at about eight twenty nine, and the neighbor's ring security
camera footage showed the Vovo pulling back into the Halderson residence. I didn't realize ring could do that. I mean, I thought it was just like the front porch, like when pizza guy comes a videotapes because it maybe maybe it's across the street right, Maybe I don't know. Chandler originally claimed that On July second, the day after the murders, at about six pm, he
said that his parents left for their cabin for the weekend. However, Christa was expected at work that day, and when she didn't show up, her co workers began calling and texting her to see where she was. According to Christa's cellular data, on July second, all incoming calls to her phone went straight to voicemail. A text from Christa's phone was sent to Chandler on July fourth, Two days later, she sent him in text, Hey, I'm
doing well in the cottage something like that. Did you get my oak, he said, made it safely, can't get anything through and yes it's packed, going to Waite like today for the parade and we'll be home Monday night slash Tuesday early. Love you lots exclamation point, exclamation point. Oh he's it, dick, Yeah, I want to know what he did, Tanya. I know. On July seventh, twenty twenty one, around eleven thirty
am, bart and Christa were reported missing by Chandler. He told police that his parents left for their cabin on July second, and he hadn't seen that since they departed. Dane County detectives Sabrina Simms and Brian Shrunk were assigned to the case. After further investigation, law enforcement discovered that Barton Krista never even left home for the Fourth of July weekend. How did they find that? Probably cameras? Yeah, probably where's Mitchell and all this? I don't think
Mitchell lives at home, so he's probably off just living his life. Yeah, but hey, brother, I know parents are, yeah, right where his mom and dad? He probably just told them all they're up at the cabin. I don't know, Okay. When Chandler explained to investigators that his parents left for their home in Langlade County. Detectives went to search the cabin neither. That's how they known they never went. There's no signs of them, right, Yeah. The front door of the property was locked and the
home appeared undisturbed. No car there. Yeah, nobody had been there for quite some time, is what the police determined. A family member of the Holderson's told police that they last saw Barton Krista on July first, twenty twenty one, and, according to Chandler Christa, Texas, him memory till junely fourth, but he said he hadn't heard from either of his parents since then. He reported to the area's local news station, NBC fifteen what because he
was interviewed, he said, we'll find them. It's better not to listen to the negative theories. My last message I got from them they were going to White Lake for the Fourth of July. There's some festivities that go on around there. Better drink prices at bars, stuff like that. What White Lake, Wisconsin. Their plan to my knowledge, they were going to Langlade County to a cabin. Their cabin along the way. They could have stopped at many places, but I wouldn't know any of them, but it's about
three hours north of Madison or Dane County due. He went on to say then that his parents were probably just at the casino. Oh that's okay, that's a long time at the fucking casino, you know, with their phones off, or they went out on a boat having fun with their friends. Gay Later, when he asked who these friends were, who did they possibly go out of a boat with? And supposedly they went with friends up north. Just from that's all you need to know, Chandler couldn't name them.
It's like, I don't know those friends. Yeah, and it's because they didn't exist. And the weirdest thing about the news report was that the reporter saw Chandler going door to door asking neighbors if he could take a look at their security footage. He wanted he wanted to see if he find they're just at the casino. He wanted to find the footage that showed his parents leaving the house. According to the neighbors, Chandler seemed more concerned if the road
or their house was visible in the footage. Yeah, investigators are sent on a wild use chase. That's fucked up. They're fine, they're just out on a boat. Yeah, they're great gambling. But can I look at your footage? I know, right, just want to check it out. The day after he reported his parents missing July eighth, Chandler made a Google search between ninety four yeh and nine forty five am boy to see if his parents' bodies were found. Oh the Google search? What the fuck is that?
The Google searches round? Wouldn't he know you would think like, Okay, if your parents were really missing, you reported a missing, you reported a missing, if bodies were found, wouldn't he be notified? Yeah? He would think. Well, maybe he's wondering if any bodies were like found. He googled body found Wisconsin. He googled dead body found Wisconsin, body found in Milwaukee River. Oh, well that's specific. And he also googled
this a little bit of a spoiler alert Wisconsin dismembered body found. Oh what off? Yeah? Fuck? Yeah? What the fuck? Barts remains? Oh my god, Tanya, what did he do? I'm gonna tell you. Bart's remains were found that same day. They were found around three pm, the same day that these Google searches were made, and that same day Chandler was brought in for questioning, and his story was just not adding up for I know. Originally, he tells the police that his parents were heading
up to their cabin. Yeah, yeah, they're gonna have a good time for a little getaway with friends. It's the fourth of July. I'm gonna get drunk and gamble. Right, they're gonna get cell phone service, No cell phone service. Maybe they're going out on a boat. Maybe they're contexted exactly. But now that he was being interrogated, Chandler told police that his parents had gone up to the cabin due to a plumbing emergency. He had
helped them pack up tools. He then mentioned that his parents packed lots of booze. Oh for a plumbing emergency, And well, you know what, I'm not judging them. I pack up lots of boots for less than that. I'd be like, Oh, the fucking pipes burst. We'd better bring a bottle of vodka. Oh, I gotta do the dishes. Where's the vodka? I know? So, as a side note to that little they brought lots of booze. Friends of Barton Krista were interviewed and they said that
they rarely drank and even when they did. Neither of them had more than two drinks, so they weren't like tighter than better than me. During the interrogation, one of the detectives let Chandler know that it was mandatory that he tell the truth about what happened to his parents. Oh okay, I don't know. Does that work? Oh okay? Absolutely. The detectives were trying
to get Chandler to feel that law enforcement was on his side. Detectives let him know that something simply just could have happened while Chandler was defining himself, or something may have happened if he just got fed up with his parents. Oh yeah, that whole Hey boy, you know they do. You were abused child, did you you had to kill and chop their bottles? You could just come clean with us. I'm your friend, Tell your friend.
Really, I understand, I understand. Chandler denied any type of allegation that he was either defending himself or that something happened. The detective went on to say, quote, you know what happened. We're not going to tell you what happened. You were there when it happened, and we are not bullshitting you. We know more than you think we know, and oh, I wouldn't be able to control myself of the detective. I feel like, listen, you little fucker, I know what you did. You know what you
did. Just tell me, Just fucking tell me. Just tell us. Not your friend anymore, just we already know. Just tell us. Yeah, Detective Shunk, let Chandler know that people have come forward with information about this whole thing, and they have evidence against him. They have proved did they probably not? Shunk. Let Chandler know that his parents never made it to the cabin and that you probably already know that the detective my mom tech
what. The detectives began to ask Chandler about blood they found at the home, and they found blood, yeah, and Chandler defended that by saying that he had cut his foot and that he cleaned it up with hydrogen peroxide and a swiffer. Chandler said, quote, I didn't feel sick, so there couldn't have been that much unquote whatever that means. Detectives let him know that the blood wasn't his, but it was his parents' blooded DNA. Yeah.
So Chandler was like, well, you know both of my parents had nosebleeds. I knew nosebleeds were coming into the air conditioning. His father was also bleeding from scratching a psoriasis patch on his skin. I mean you have to really, I mean, come on, he said, Quote my dad scratches his psoriasis until he gushes blood. Quote, well couldn't. He also just showed that he didn't have a cut on his foot, right right, Yeah,
maybe he did, Maybe he did. He volunteered this information after being asked if there was any reason that his parents' blood could have been evident in the house. In the video footage of the interrogation, the detective asks simple questions, but rather than giving the detective simple answers, he engages in just elaborate stories and lies. While detectives were speaking with them, the deputies received
a tip. Someone said while they're speaking with them. Yeah, someone said that they saw a suspicious man walking away from a car, wearing a backpack and heading away from the river a backpack. Yeah, around the time that snapchat captured Chandler's location there. Yeah, that snapchat's got your location, damn. But what was in the Detectives kept this information to themselves, and they continued questioning Chandler until he asked for a lawyer that dumbask didn't notice, shut
off his location on Snapchat, leave your cell phone at home. Chandler was arrested on July eighth, and after the booking was complete, detective asked him if he was suicidal. He responded and said he didn't have any reborse about what he did. Oh what he did I know. Chandler was originally held in Dane County Jail and was charged with providing false information for a missing persons
investigation. The Dane County Sheriff's Office released a statement and made a post on Instagram extending their thoughts and prayers to the family of Barton Christa, letting them know that the Sheriff's office was doing everything in their power to quote bring closure and justice end quote to the investigation. A family member of the Halderson's responded to the post, thinking the police department quote, thank you everyone for your
prayers and any help you can give in finding them. So hard waiting for updates and not being able to do anything to help. Also appreciate all the work law enforcement is doing to find Barton Christa. We have always been big backers of the police and never thought we would be in a situation like this and neither help. So much. Thank you all. The family member Blake Halderson went on to reveal how none of what happened made any sense. The
Halderson family was loved by the community. A member of the community wrote on the post about how kind, caring and general Krista and Bart they were just those types of people. Two days later, Chandler was charged with the murder of his dad because by then Bart's body was found parts. Yes, he was also charged with dismembering and concealing a body. The police still didn't know what had happened to Christa or if she was even still alive. I'm going
to take a guess on them. Yeah. After the police interviewed neighbors, family, and friends, they came across some very interesting information from a woman named Katherine Melander. She went by Kat oh Boy, Chandler's then girlfriend of two years. No what does she know? Kat was brought in for questioning and she said, quote, I just believed parents were missing and I just want them to be found. As part of her own cooperation, she allowed
detectives to download data from her phone. She wanted to help investigators in any way she could, since she said Bart and christ were really good people. Detechasens was told that Chandler had cheated on Kat in the past, so she kept tabs on her man's location with the well known nap snapchat Snapchat. This app gives friends the capability to keep track of their friends whereabouts in real time, but only if the location services are turned on yep, I got it,
and if the app has been used recently. Luckily for Investigators, Chandler had his location on yes, and he had just used the app on July third. Can't notice that Chandler was in a very remote location near the Wisconsin River. Oh, that's what you were talking about. That's how they knew. So she decided to take and save a screenshot of it, probably because she was going to be like, why the fuck were you at the Wisconsin River right? And where are your parents? Yeah? And where are your
parents? In the screenshot, Chandler's bit Mooji is seen in Roxbury. In Cat's phone, Chandler's contact is set to Hubby, so in the screen shot, Hobby is standing in the middle of nowhere off Route sixty in Golf Road and there the Wisconsin River can be seen in the screen shot clear as day, stupid. I know the screenshot was taken at the exact time Barton Christo were missing. Kat told investigators at one point Chandler had asked her to bring
him over hydrogen peroxide, ice and a mop. A mop and a mop. You get a mob. You can't go buy these things on your own? Well, what are you playing that bad? Honey? And in need? Am up? I can't use a paper towel. And just so you know, when you screenshot on snapchat, it lets the person know, Oh, yeah, you're right, But I'd be like a mo a mom, I'll go to the hospital. Why do you need this? Why do you need it? Your mom doesn't have a mom at home? A mop?
Yeah? Right, come on now. Kat told investigators that she had believed everything that Chandler told her. He told her about a job he was going to take at SpaceX, and she had planned to move to Florida be with him after August twenty one. Cat questioned the job opportunity since she never saw his grades or any money that he earned whatsoever. When asked around the time when Barton Christa went missing, she said she went to Chandler's home on July
second, and smelled heavy smoke when she asked smoke. Yeah. When she asked hibout the smell, he told her that he had broke the fireplace while playing fetch with one of the family dogs. What how would them make smoke? Exactly? How would that? May spoke it? According to Kat's family, Chandler had told him that he lost the job at SpaceX due to his
severehead concussion. Oh yeah, you know. Kat's mother, Dulce, was dating a woman named Crescent Lasai. On July fifth, Chandler visited the home of Crescent and asked if he could use the pool sort of as physical therapy for a leg injury he had. He's got a leg injury. Yeah sure. Chandler seemed frazzled. He's got everything right, I noticed, and when he was asked if he was okay, he replied, Oh no, I'm not okay. I'm having problems reading words in numbers. His head head injury.
How did he get that again? I don't know. Bumped his head on the wall. Yeah, some talked into a door. He did something okay on the stage. Chandler was alone and drove himself there in one of his parents' cars. Crescent told investigators that Chandler was not only seen at the pool, he was also seen in a wooded area near a shed. And he actually went missing for a little while. Oh shit. And when she looked outside the pool cover was untouched, like he hadn't gone in the Conno,
but he went in the woods. Yeah, near shed. And should he even be driving with his head injury? I know, right, I'm just saying the trunk of the Halderson car was open at the time. He's got the trunk open, and he's in the fucking woods and he's in the woods. Yes. When he reappeared, he was seen taking a dip in the pool and appeared to be washing himself off. Incidentally, when police searched the wooded area on July eighth, Bart's remains were discovered and Cottage Grove,
Wisconsin. I thought they were in the river. Yeah, I think that's near the river. His remains showed that he was shot at least two times in the back. Neighbors reported that they had seen vultures circling ball Man and this was unusual. Yeah. Yeah. The investigation ended up turning from two
missing people to a double homicide in a matter of weeks. The shed that I mentioned at Pressence's residence that was searched inside the shed, there was a rifle that was found and that was used to murder Bart and there was also a blood covered tarp was fall man. Scissors in a sob blade were found. Scissors, yes, scissors. They were found inside an oil drum. Where was the oil drum in the shed? And a sochal warrant was obtained
for the Hulderson residence once that was found. Did you think they're never going to chuck their shed? I know, right, at some point you go in your shed, they're all looking. There's a rifle and a fucking bloody tart, right, I know, how do you leave this stuff somewhere? I don't know. They're better places, That's all I'm saying exactly, there are better places. No, I don't know that you go to a fucking shed and somebody else's property. No, anyway, anyway, Sorry, Okay,
So I told you. Chandler was arrested. Yes. On July fifteenth, Chandler had his first court appearance. Court Commissioner Brian Asmus set bail for a million dollars. Chandler's defense attorney told Asthmus that Chandler was a lifelong residence who was an Eagle Scout and was involved in church organizations with no prior criminal record. He's a saint. The defense asked that Chandler's bail stayed at ten
thousand dollars. A fourteen page document was released that same day that detailed the investigation into the murder of Bart. This document had information about the interviews that were held with chandler friends, witnesses, and family members. It didn't specify where and when Bart was killed, but it did place Chandler at the site
where Bart was found the open murder charge or something. The document continued on to explain what happened at Crescence's property and that a family friend provided the gun and ammunition to Chandler on June twelveth, What like it wasn't his so somebody could get like one of his family members just made up some bullshit. I need a rifle. Yeah, And before I tell you more, we're going to take a break. On July twenty second, investigators targeted a new location
to search for Krista. The Dane County Sheriff's Office in Dank County is square the family lives. That's where they're ya house. Revealed that they were searching a waste management land film near Johnson's Creek in hope of finding her. Dive teams and candaver dogs searched the pond near the Halderson residence. The ponds drained to gain better access, and cadaver dogs pointed the police to areas that ended up just being insignificant, like dead ends. Yeah. The spokesperson for the
Sheriff's office said that this location was just it's just an obvious location. They had to search it because it's by their house. It's by the house. On Friday, July thirtieth, the Sheriff's office confirmed that remains were found in Roxbury, not in the pond, and that the remains were identified as Krista's. Investigators asked the District Attorney's office add a second first degree homicide charge against Chandler, along with the additional charges that he was being charged with, like
hiding a corpse and mutilating a corpse. Sheriff Calvin Barrett said, we have kept the Halsdersen family in our thoughts and prayers throughout this investigation, and we extend our continued sympathies to them. Today we have said everyone allow them to grieve this tremendous loss with the utmost respect and dignity. That's so sad,
like terrible. On July twenty eighth, even more evidence was found. There was a black rope tied around Bart's remains around his torso, and the same black rope was found so they were able to make a match like at the house. Yeah mean, all technology from the house was seized as evidence. Barton Christa's phones were found in the garage. The phones along with both of their drivers. Like kept the phones in the garage, they kept it. He kept them rams in aluminum foil and paper towels, and he used to
stuff them inside of a shoe. Oh, no, one will find them there. Next, the detectives took a look at cellular data from Barton Christa's phones. It was found that Christa's phone never pained from Langlaide County, and that's where the cottages where Chandler told investigators that his parents went up to remember she had supposedly sent him attacks. Well the text that was sent from her
phone. Their data from it revealed that the text was sent from Dane County, where they lived, and autopsy was done on Bart's remains, and the report revealed that he had been shot with an sks Narenko rifle. I don't know what that is. It's a foreign military style rifle and it fires very specific ammunition and a shell casing for the ammunition was found inside the Halderson residence.
Okay, he didn't even take out the shell. No, like, he couldn't pick up that shell, right, And they also found they were parts of the floor removed and a part of a wall. That's hello, hello right. Chandler was charged with the murders of both of his parents on twenty fourth, two thousand and one. He was charged with two counts of first degree homicide, providing false information in a missing person's case, and mutilation and hiding of a corpse. And I haven't told you what exactly he did
to his parents. Oh, he murdered them, yes, I got that part. He dismembered them using a saw, scissors, pruning shears, and then that well, and then he burned some of the remains in the family fireplace, which bone fragments were found in the family fireplace. How many like over two hundred and yeah, and then he buried some of the remains. Oh my god, I'm August twenty fifth, Chandler filed a request for a speedy trial, and in September he pleaded not guilty to first degree murder.
Wasn't giving false information, I mean he pluged not guilty to every charge thereout eight charges in total. In early January of twenty twenty two, the trial began. So I guess he did get that speedy trial, and the prosecutor, William Brown, revealed that Christa had discovered that Chandler didn't have a job, nor was he actually in school. Surprise. The prosecutor went on to say that Chandler was playing video games at home rather than working, and said
that he lived a life of lies. Prosecutors presented evidence that Chandler dropped out of school and told a jury that he made up a series of fake emails to make his parents believe that he was actually attending college. The prosecutor claimed that Chandler posed as life insurance company employees and college officials in emails that he forwarded to his father like as proof that he had this job and that he
was enrolled in school. The prosecution also said that the defendant made up that job at SpaceX no no shit, no shit, and lied to his then girlfriend that he had bought a car and signed a lease for an apartment for a future move to Titusville, Florida. When the story fell apart, Chandlers fall down a flight of stairs was an escape plan so that friends and family wouldn't find out that he had fabricated like every fucking thing he was talking about.
And what about his foot and the blood? Utah, that was true? Actually that was true. Yeah, that was true. That happened. Well, he said he was playing with the dog and he might have scraped it on the fireplace or whatever, But I doubt that's what really happens. I do scissors, yeah, or the saw or something. The prosecution didn't stop there, though, They displayed video evidence of Chandler buying a tarp along with twenty pound bags of ice that he used ice his father's dead body.
What what? Why is he icing his dad's dead body? No? Was it easier to cut up I don't fucking know to cut up its frozen frozen chickens harder than I don't. I'm being crude. I don't need to be crude. The scissors and sobling found were tested by forensic team and the results were announced during the trial that both Christa and Bart's DNA were on both. The prosecution showed the jury of photo of the broken glass from the fireplace inside.
That's how he did it. Yeah, that's when he mentioned during his interrogation that he cut his foot, and the jury was shown a picture of the bottom his foot and the cut is less than a centimeter long. Oh it hurts a bitter no man, the cut looked to be a splinter. I need a mop and his big toe. There was also a video shown from a neighbor security system. The neighbor I think that lives across the street that I originally mentioned, who had like fourteen cameras around his house. It
wasn't just a ring camera, yeah he was. He had the security hookup. Wow, that's a lot of cameras. Yeah. That security footage from his house showed a flicker of light coming from inside of the home the day that Bart and Krista were supposedly killed. So that's when he was probably burning stuff in the fireplace and in the business summer. This is like July. Yeah, I get cold, easy in Wisconsin, where it's nice and humid
like it is in Michigan. It's believed that Chandler cut them up and attempted to burn the heads, arms, and lings of each of them inside the fireplace. Yeah, forensic specialists took the stand to explain the two hundred bone fragments that I mentioned earlier. The same forensic expert went on to explain blood evidence. Blood was found in the basement of the home and an attempt to
clean up the blood and the basement. Yeah, that was evident. The jury was shown a photo of what appeared to be a clean basement floor, but the expert revealed that in the dark, blue light revealed traces of blood. Next, the prosecution explained that the rifle found in the shed it was found on the same property where Bart's remains were found, and the medical examiner
confirmed the evidence. They also noted that Christa's cause of death was unknown and wasn't determined, and that so blade that they found when it was found, it had what looked to be like slimy material on it. Slimy which they believe was fatty tissue. Oh my god, he didn't even bother to clean it. No, he didn't even bother witnesses. Several witnesses took the stand to testify against Chandler. Kat's mother, A. Dulce, took the stand because he went to her house right, yeah, and she recalled it.
Chandler had told her about his job working for the Wisconsin Department of Nancial Resources and that he needed to be on call for water rescues. Remember it because he's a scuba die. Yes. He also mentioned to her that he worked for that insurance company, American Family Insurance. Lastly, she was told that he had received a new job working for SpaceX in Florida. It's okay, I can't. I cannot hear about his fucking chileman and like SpaceX again.
Dulce mentioned to the jury that after hearing this, she took him out to dinner to celebrate, but then said that the job fell through due to his inability to fly because he had that severe concussion. When asked about seeing Chandler at Crescent's farm, she let the jury know that she saw Chandler with one of his parents' cars out in the field with the trunk open. When Chandler came back from the field, he was acting really strangely. Yeah, I
bet yeah. Next to testify was Dulcha's significant other, Crescents, since her firm was cited as the crime scene. Oh man, I know. She told a jury that Chandler had asked if he could use the pool for physical therapy. Remember I told you yeah, because my tell yeah in my head. My fine. Yeah. He said his concussion caused nerve damage to his legs. Crescent went on to tell the jury that Chandler was only in the pool to wash himself off after he had walked around the property for about an
hour and a half. She recalled it his demeanor and I think that's weird. He's just walking around the half. But I don't think that like anything's really that wrong, anything right, And I'm just saying, yeah. She recalled that his demeanor was kind of off and he was acting kind of weird. Oh, I bet yeah. Two days later in the trial, Chandler's former girlfriend, kat took the stand to testify against him. She told the
prosecution that she was with Chandler the most between July first through seventh. She let the jury know that she fully cooperated with law enforcement and she gave police everything they asked. For During the questioning process, she told the prosecutor that Chandler had asked her to bring him the swiffer like this fucking swiffer. Oh yeah, yeah, that's the mop along with hydrogen peroxide, which investigator said
was to actually clean up the crime scene. She had ordered the supplies from Target via the Target app, and a photo was taken to the Target bag with her name, order number, and order date. The bag was noted at the crime scene since the bag contained bloody rags. Oh. Kat was in tears on the stand when she was asked if she had helped her ex boyfriend cleaned the blood up after he brudely killed his parents, and she denied it. The prosecution noted to the jury that Kat was innocent of any crime.
Yeah. I think by the time he got there he cleaned most of it off. Yeah. From when I read about it, he said he broke some glass in the fireplace and needed the swiffer. Yeah, and cleaned it off. His big toe hurt. This is another weird thing that Kat testified to. She said she spent the night with Chandler on July second, So this is the night after he had killed his parents, and she remembered
it being really weird because she said they didn't sleep in his bedroom. She said that he had made a fort with the couches in the living room and bedding sheets, so they slept inside the fort. Oh okay. The last thing she told the jury was that she just wanted them to find Krista and Bart more than anything else. After Kat, two different doctors were called to the standard discuss Chandler's falled down the stairs. One doctor in particular told a
jury that he didn't diagnose Chandler with a brain bleed. He didn't have a hematoma, he didn't have a spinal injury, nor did he have any other ailment. These diagnosises were what Chandler decided to tell his friends and family. The doctor, I think that would be a big deal if you had that. Like, you know, I went to urgent care. I got all this ship right, bravely. But I'm good now. The doctor did say
that he sent Chandler home with a neck brace. Jesus yeah. One of the detectives took the stand and very graphic images were shown to the jury of Bart's remains. There was also testimony that Chandler, when they had arrested him. There were bruises all over his backside. He had scrapes on his legs that were probably from like a briar bush, which is where Bart's torso and legs were found. The joke deliberated for two hours, and Chandler was found
guilty of all eight charges. How long did they deliberate? Two? Who long? Two hours? For about two people. He was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. Chandler requested to be absent from on the day of sentencing. Yeah, I would be like, I'm busy,
I don't need to be there. Yeah. Deputy District Attorney William Brown argued against this motion that he shouldn't be there, and he said that Chandler had zero right to skip the court hearing simply due to the fact that it's uncomfortable and to avoid being held responsible for his cruel actions. Dane County Judge John Highland agreed with the prosecutor and denied the motions, so Chandler had to face
the music. He was given the maximum penalty for each of the lesser charges, and he will spend the rest of his life in prison for the murder of his parents. All because he was a fucking liar.
