On June 23, 1985, a body was discovered off of Sunrise Highway 30 in Mt. Laguna, California, along the eastern edge of the Cleveland National Forest in San Diego County. The female victim was found nude, beaten and strangled. How she ended up discarded on the side of the road is a mystery, but the story leading up to her untimely death is one that was heavily entangled in police corruption.
