John Wayne Gacy was an American serial killer who is responsible for the deaths of at least 33 young males in the greater Chicago area throughout the 1970s.
Sometimes known as the “Killer Clown" for his habit of dressing in a clown costume and makeup, Gacy's crimes remain some of the most disturbing in all of American criminal justice, not least because of his lack of remorse after his horrendous actions had come to light.
