Episode description

Hello and welcome to Crime & Spirits, where your hosts teach you about true crime, spooky stories, and how to make a great cocktail. In July of 2014, Conrad Henri Roy III tragically died by suicide. He was only 18 years old. Per Massachusetts Law, police began to look into his unattended death. Law enforcement then uncovered thousands of text messages sent to and from Michelle Carter, his friend/girlfriend at the time. This case concerns two mentally ill teenagers and the consequences of their actions. In the weeks before Conrad's passing, Michelle started pushing him to carry out his plan; the tone of these messages became quite aggressive over time. This led the police to eventually arrest Michelle and deem her culpable in Conrad's death. The question then became: Do words have the power to kill?
