Episode description

Elijah Runningbear Diaz, known as Bear to family and friends, was a 20 year old Indigenous man, of the Barona Band of Mission Indians near San Diego, California. At six years old, he was diagnosed with Type I diabetes, and spent much of his childhood and adolescence in the hospital due to diabetic complications. In August 2015, Bear was suffering from the effects of neuropathy, and his mobility was left impaired due to severe wounds on his feet. He could not walk without crutches, and could not drive on his own... but somehow, on August 29th, 2015, he disappeared from his home, leaving his car in the driveway, just hours after his mother had last spoken to him. None of Bear's belongings have ever been found, and there have never been any solid leads as to his whereabouts.
